Worst Teacher ever. Anyone can teach the way he does. All he does is show a slide show and tell jokes. However the real joke is him. The dean needs to check into his teaching abilities

Ok this is like the best teacher ever. Whom ever thinks he need to be checked out by the dean needs to just get out of the class. You have to be the most unfun, stuck up person on campus. I would gladly defend this teacher to the dean.

Good teacher, Makes you laugh and learn, but it's basically learning out of the book, his tests are hard, but the work is easy. Awesome teacher.
lectures by reading the definitions right out of the book, then tells you to do a diagram like u are supposed to know how..helps out alot though and gives u some answers
i hated this class. lectures are useless, he just shows the text book powerpoints (doesn't even make his own) and half of the slides he skips through. he can't teach, he just makes us do tutorials for system architect and doesn't explain anything.

To the **** commentor - It's not only girls who take this class for an easy A. Plenty of guys signed up for A's too! I am a female and took this class because it was a convenient time, but ended up feeling cheated because he didn't teach.

This guy has no clue what he's talking about in this class, but that's ok cuz he still gives everybody A's and B's. His quizzes are hard and everybody fails them so he curves them all. The rest of the time you sit in a few boring lectures then work on a stupid project. Overall not bad.

This man is amazing. Do your work, try your best, and participate and you will get rewarded. He doesnt let you look at**** in class though.
This man is a gift from God to students. The greatest teacher around. His tests and quizes are fair and he grades fair also. I look forward to his class every single day, and I am taking him again next semester. I want to take a ride on his boat ;)

Easy class as long as you go. Doesn't actually teach just reads powerpoints and then gives hard quizzes that always get curved. Just go to class, look like you're paying attention, and joke with him about being a military preacher. Two projects are the only homework and they are really easy. Taking 170 with him next sem. cause 140 was fun.
This class is a pretty simple class. For an IS major, IT BETTER BE ALL COMMON KNOWLEDGE. There is no reason not to get an A. Mr. Hare is a great guy. Fun to be around. Light hearted. You give him and his class respect and work hard at the assigned projects and do your best, youll be fine. Hes a great guy. F13 for life!
Hes a good natured man but tends to get off subject on the regular. As a clas we just ave him curtousy laughs because we had no idea what in the world he was talking about sometimes. Its a very easy class, so as long as youi block him out you will do fine! Good luck!
Boring teacher and a little out of date. He tells jokes in which no one finds amusing. He often listens to his own music in class which is "interesting"....A lazy teacher overall. Doesnt like to help his students likes to let them do things on their own. I would give him an overall bad rating if your actually trying to learn.

Easy A if you bring your book, do the labs online, and write a 10 pg paper. He also cancelled class because he was in Fl. You teach yourself in this class.

Serious about learning? lol you're kidding me, he's an extremely funny, smart guy. He knows his stuff but knows we all have the attention span of toddlers, so he gets the point across in PowerPoint. Not paying attention? Well, he quizzes you every week to make sure you actually read something. Best teacher ever!
The subject sucks but he actually makes it fun. He's hilarious, alot of fun, and I wish I could take Hare for every single class that I have. He's AWESOME!
OK so he's pretty easy :-) He's very funny and makes the class livable. So long as you try, you'll be okay.
He is an easy teacher. All classes are very short. He is a retired Soldier that loves relaxing and telling funny stories. Just pay attention during the powerpoint presentations and bring your book to class for a good grade. Very laid back class, and I will take him again next semester. One easy 10 page paper on computers and quizzes every week.
Second time taking Hare. His quizzes are difficult even with the books. His midterm and final are easy. Overall, go to class, bring your book, and humor him to get an A.
Wow. That's all I can say. He's here every class except for the classes where he "looses" attendance sheet or "forgot" to take it. Other than that he's pretty cool comes in, gives a powerpoint, tells a couple of jokes and then calls it a day. Easy A if you know what your doing. The test are mostly open book so thats also an easy A. Good teacher.
This class is an Easy A. The quizzes/ tests are all open book and the Midterm + Final are based on the quizzes. If your serious about his subject read the book but you don't really have to in this class. Usually lets the class out early. Great Teacher. Easiest A I've had in a while.
Bogus teacher, who has a lack of knowledge in his teachings. Dont take this guy if at all possible. If you like a lot of work and a constant hasle then Yes do take this class

Knowledgeable professor, great person. Wants to know the students and really attempts to make the class interesting. He is approachable. Sometimes off task. Class wasn't extremely hard, study the book and do the practice quizzes. Midterm and Final are from the quizzes, easy to pass if you study! Project is done throughout entire semester in class

Hare is the best teacher i have ever had.He is very knowledgeable with what he teaches. He also takes the time to help each student with any issue they are having in the class. Highly recommend this teacher you wont be disappointed.
Good teacher and is willing and able to work with you if you actually do work in the class. He is also very fun. Don't skip class to much or you will miss a lot of information in his class though.
Mr. Hare is super chill and a really nice guy. He gives quizzes weekly, and you can find all the answers on google. I would say the book for IS140 is optional, he doesn't teach out of it. This was my favorite class my freshman year. He will make fun of you alot but it's all in good fun. I would definately reccomend him.
Mr. Hare is an awesome teacher. Knows what he has talking about and he seems to have a wide-range of experience in the computer field. Fun to be around and makes boring power points slightly more enjoyable. The quizes are very easy if you use the book.

Hare is a great guy, but probably not the best professor in the world. He goes over PowerPoints and that's it - he often skips slides of material he doesn't understand or care about to keep things moving along. Tests are open book. You can get out of the final if you do well on the one major paper and presentation.
Easy class but boring! Makes a big stink about cellphones albeit the several times his went off during class. You'll need the book for the quizzes as they are rigged to the point where i don't think he could pass them. I LEARNED NOTHING! Rushes through material so quickly that the info isn't absorbed. Easy A if you can tolerate his stale jokes

One of the coolest professors I've ever had at Stevenson. He likes to joke a lot but it makes for a more interesting class. I don't know how anyone could not like this guy. Seems like he's a very bright guy in general, not just with computers. Pretty easy to pass if you just show up to class, do the quizzes, and pay attention.

Really cool guy, but could be a better professor. The work is way too easy. The quizzes were open book online and for the midterm and final you just have to memorize the questions of the quizzes, so you're not really learning the material in my opinion. He's pretty easy going. All the material is only, and if you do the chapter work before the week stars you don't have to go to class. He likes to make jokes. I'd take him again.
Professor Hare is one of the best professors that I have ever had in my college experience. He is so helpful. He is easy going. He is a very smart and kind person. He is willing to work with you and he always jokes.
Attendance improves your grade greatly, but can also lower it.
Even though I am not finished his class for the semester (almost done, though), I can say he has been of my favorite teachers. The class in general isn't exactly "fun", he's very informative and knows his stuff. He uses powerpoints and gives us small labs to do and hand in for an easy grade. Tests are online but tough. Read the book thoroughly!
Very thoughtful professor, and helpful as long as you ask. Easy to follow, and very minimal work considering it's a 100 level class. As long as you pay attention on class, and do the homework, you're going to do well on the quizzes and the tests. Not really a difficult class unless the concept of a computer confuses you. Very enjoyable overall.
He is awesome. He is the best professor that I have ever had. He is kind. He is funny. He tells lots of stories and he shows compassion. He is a quick grader and he truly cares.
If you want to have an easy class with barely any work or learning involved, then take Hare. But if you actually want all the money your paying for an education to be worth it please take someone else. This course was a major course for me so it was extremely important and I learned nothing! He just wants to retire and breeze through the material.

He does not even know what he is doing when it comes to course material. If you can take the class online, do it. He is extremely rude to students and makes class uncomfortable. On the bright side if you go to class and even he cant figure it out, he will give everyone in attendance a 100% for the assignment.
He is the best professor that I have ever had because he is one of the few professors that truly cares about the students. He gives good feedback and he is compassionate when it comes to the material. He will explain everything in class well and tell you where to find it and even arranges time to meet up with you outside of class. He shows humor.
