This guy is SUPER annoying. He talks too much about his kids and does not spend much time going in depth with the book. Forget about lecture, memorize the whole book, and just show up for the tests. I got a D on the first two tests, stopped showing up, and still ended up with a B+. Make sure to do the psychology research requirements.

Professor Howland is a really nice guy who actually cares about his students' progress in his class. I got an A by earning 20 extra credit points from going to class and READING THE TEXT. He's really smart and enthusiastic about cognitive psych and is great about giving help outside of class. Lectures aren't crucial, but the EC can be!

It was hard to stay awake... but thats because the course was 3 hours long. Read the chapters... all of them and youll do ok. If you show up to class you get EC opportunities which helped. I got 12 extra pts :) Hard to hear him in the big lecture call and didnt use a mic.

A very clear concise professor. The class is pretty easy and very straightforward test questions. Make sure to study the online quizzes because he uses some test questions from there. Very knowledgeable professor and interesting I would definitely recommend him.

There's no reason not to get an A in this class so long as you read the book, attend class (take a few notes) and do the online quizzes. Howland is a very fair, helpful professor. Tests aren't extremely difficult and many questions come straight from online/book quizzes.

Prof. Howland is very enthusiastic and loves to crack a joke every now and then. He is very helpful and his online quizzes help a lot during exams. However, do not underestimate your understanding of psychology. Make sure you know your stuff well and come over-prepared for the exams. That is a Must!

EASY A. Clearly taught as a freshman class, you absolutely do not need to go to class to get an A - just read the book. Don't bother buying smokin notes! 95% of the test is from the book, which is not a hard read at all.

Good professor, available to help if you need it. Class isn't mandatory but if he notices a lot of people skipping he will put questions on the test that aren't in the book. As long as you read the book and study the day before each test you should be fine.

Dr. Howland is an amazing professor. Yes his exams may be hard, however they are not unfair. Exams are made to be challenging. Class attendance isn't really mandatory but he adds little details on top of what the book says and then uses that in the exmas. He is willing to help his students and will work with them until they understand the topic.

Mr. Howland did a good job in keeping the class very interesting. It's important to both go to lecture and read the textbook. This class is about a mid-level difficulty... It does require some time and effort. There is some extra credit and easy online quizzes to help boost your grade. Be sure to study for exams and you'll do fine.

Well I didn't find the class itself to be anything special (subject material/text book) his lectures were great. He was interesting and just made it extremely easy to pay attention. He's fairly lenient with quizzes (three attempts... not bad). Taking detailed chapter notes, using Smokin Notes to catch up on missed info... easy A.
