He was such a great teacher. He let us work in groups with 2 pages of notes, front and back. His lectures are boring, but he tries to make them fun. Take his class.
very easy and super nice

Awesome guy great teacher. Learned tons.
This guy is a great professor. Tough material to learn, but he gives you many opportunities to pull up your grade. Utilize his practice exams/quizes/problem sets. Highly reccomend
U do have to put effort into this class. I slacked and didnt come to it and barely got a c. but he is good though. u could also read the chapters at home or something. 3 tests, 1 final, 5 quizzes, drop the lowest on each. lots of materials, but he did a good job of dishing it out. and once again work is involved, no slackers here!
I totally disagree with everyone's comments. I did not learn much. He's extemely boring. He does not teach. He practically reads the powerpoint slides. This was the first class I have ever fallen asleep in. He is a nice guy just not a great instructor. You don't have to go to class since he does not take role. I went about 25% of the time and passed
All Hunt does is read off powerpoint.Economics is not something u can learn that way.veryy hard final, but the other tests/quizzes are straight if u know the material.I did well on the first test but after that not so good,b/c he didnt do a good job explaining the harder concepts in the class.hes willing to help u alot if u go to his office hours.
hard class but he helps you if you need it
Good Professor, class was no good though, unless you like economics. We were able to use notes for exams.
I took this in the summer at 8 am!- VERY nice teacher. took smoking breaks lol -tests were hard but he made them group tests which was very helpful (don't know if this was just because it was summer semester?)..gives LOTS of practice problems-many of which are directly on the quizzes- very energetic and friendly
For the LOVE OF GOD, please do not take this class for your own sanity. This teacher is addicted to nicotine and caffeine or something. He speaks way too fast and doesn't explain a word. Also, He uses powerpoint slides (that he didn't write by the way) as a subsitute for actual teaching. Unless you're a sadist DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hunt's a good guy. His jokes are funny. He does mostly read from the Powerpoints, but he gives you plenty of practice problems and many of his test/quiz questions come from his practice tests. Lets you use two pages of notes. In 6pt. type, that ought to be enough room for you to get everything on your "cheat sheat" you'll need to get an A or B.
this guy is awesome. he teaches primarily from the powerpoints which he post on WebCT. He allows you to have a cheat sheet for quizzes and tests. Our last two tests were group tests and our final was too. Pretty sure we made a 100 on the final. i only showed up on quiz/test days. take this class if you can. talking fast on moving alot is his only flaw. but his energy will keep your attention throughout the class if you go
The ultimate student's teacher.Talks 1 million word per minute but makes up for it with a generous grading style. I would not recomend him for a principles course, but other than that:HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Great Teacher. He talks fast but powerpoints are posted on WebCT. He allows you to have a cheat sheet for tests. Our last test and our final we use a partner.
Professor Hunt is a good teacher with fun and engaging classes. He knows his subject well and seems to truly enjoy teaching. His classes do a great job of covering the topics and you'll learn quite a bit from his class. I would definitely recommend his class to others, with one warning: He talks way too fast and sometimes races ahead of students. Y
Totally study your graphs (how the different curves work individually & together). The professor really knows his stuff. Yes, he talks fast, but this class is definately, definately recommended.
Very tedious. He didn't wait for everyone to grasp the concept before moving on. Showed definite favoritism to particular students. Doesn't seem to know his stuff too well, several times students had to help him figure out answers to his own questions! Some exam/ quiz questions were pretty off the wall. Would not recommend this teacher.
Keep to the book and you should be fine. Hunt speaks in a conversational tone with no pitch difference; it becomes very difficult to decipher between background information and important material you should know. Hunt may have knowledge of the topic at hand, but has none in how to deliver it and inform. Not a very engaging or interesting class.
Professor Hunt is a really really brilliant economist. Almost too much at times. When talking to the class, he has a tendency to wander into other topics. Almost always what he is talking about is relevant however. Make sure that you are following along in the book somewhat. Willing to help if you ask. If you like Econ I'd say take his class.
This guy just talks in intillectual BS. He can't explain the material and has almost zero math skill. Which sucks when you are studing higher economics.I'm not sure he could even pass the exams he gives that come from the textbook test bank.If you plan to go on to grad school you will not really learn the matterial. His lectures teach nothing.
Great guy outstanding teacher. You only need come to class after the second test. You can partner with someone for the test. Easy Easy Easy.
Brian is passionate about teaching economics, but since he speaks in such a monotonous conversational tone, it sounds boring and seems like the lecture will never end. He can be helpful if you go to his office hours, but he is very fast paced. He tries to make you understand economics better, but it is difficult if you don't keep up w/ the news.
Pretty easy, if you have any understanding of economics. Awesome guy, funny, and almost too smart. Tests are multiple choice and he lets you have a cheat sheet. You also get to exempt the final if you have an A in the class.
Talks to fast and extremely long winded. Nice guy and curves A LOT ( at least 7 points per test). Boring but very easy.
Professor Hunt explains things in a way that are fun and interesting. I would strongly suggest doing well on the first exams, because the material just gets harder. Going over the practice quizzes really helps, because it's very similar to the test material.
If you're taking your first econ course, choose another professor. I think the only reason I did well is b/c Id already taken 2105 w/ a better professor. The guy talks way too fast and I found his lectures useless. Definitely taught myself to get my A
Professor Hunt has a love for economics - his excitement for the subject made it easier and more enjoyable for me. I personally do not like economics, but Professor Hunt made me more interested in the subject. Also, he allows you to have cheat sheets for the quizzes and TEST!!! Also, gives extra credit and is willing to help his students.
Take him if it is not your first Econ course. His lecture sometimes is useless, talks to fast, and doesn't really explain too clearly. Read the book to do well and he has the willingness to help you.
Great Professor if it is your first econ class. He is very helpful with his students. He gives extra credit for all of his exams and if you like your grade in the class - no final exam :) I really enjoyed his class and will MOST likely take one again soon!
I hated this class but prof. Hunt is a nice guy. class consists of 4 tests and 10 quizzes. Gives extra credit & final is optional. If you dont know much about econ i wouldn't take him. He teaches like you already know everything about econ & he's just refreshing your memory. Class was boring but it may just be the subject. i wouldnt take him again.
Interesting Class. Hunt is a good teacher and is VERY helpful! He allows cheat sheets and extra credit for his exam. As for prior comments, I don't see what all the fuss is about - I had poor econ teachers in high school but Professor Hunt helped me learn and understand basics in economics :)
The guy loves economics and enjoys engaging with students. His class is easy (what with allowing cheat sheets for exams and all). At the same time, he isn't good at simplifying the material for those who struggle to understand the material after reading the book. But, the book was easy to follow so maybe there was no helping them anyway.
P. Hunt is extremely engaging in class and he is a great teacher. I personally relied on the book a lot, but he really encourages asking questions in class and in office. 10 quizzes (mostly take-home) and 2 tests (w/ cheat sheets) + opt. final. I would highly reccommend this class. Even if you don't attend class often, you learn so much.
Professor Hunt was by far the best Economics professor that I have ever had! Working with graphs has never been my strongest area and let's face it - the subject can be a bit boring but not in his class. He brings a real passion to the subject matter and WANTS his students to excel and understand. He encourages you and makes the subject relatable
This guy really knows his stuff. Goes over material really fast but he will go back if you have any questions. Quizzes were hard but the exams are open book and we worked in groups for the final. The guy should be working on wall street or as an advisor for the Federal Reserve. Take his class if you get the chance to do so.
Awesome hot teacher! He loves economics and wants us to love it too. He really wants his students to do well and will meet with them for help and so on. I will take another class with him if I can!
Awesome teacher! Like the other reviewer said, he loves economics (it really shows) and he wants us to love it too! He really tries to simplify the material 'cause he knows there's A LOT to cover. He loves to help. He drops your lowest 2 quizzes. You can work in groups on quizzes. He lets you use 1-2 pages of notes on exams. I recommend taking him.
I did not enjoy this class at all. Brian has an extremely low voice which made it very difficult to hear him. He's very interested in teaching, but he talks entirely too much. The book is worthless and does not go into much details about the topics. This class sucks.
Awesome teacher! He lets you use 1-2 pages of notes on exams. He also is extreamly helpful! I disagree for the comment below. Maybe if you had been in class you could have seen what the other comments saw. Like I said wonderfully helpful and he wants his students to succeed. I recommend taking him!
I really like him! We've had 2 tests and 3 quizzes and I still have an A in there. The next test is the final, which is optional if we like our current grade! He's very helpful and enthusiastic about economics! He wants you to love it, or at the least understand it! Great guy, pretty eyes, cute, and SO SO sweet! Wonderful person! (:
Personally I dont like lecture classes. He moves really fast and paces back and forth across the room. It is really distracting. You take 6-8 group quizzes, 3 test and an optional final. You get to use one page front and back for all tests.
He's very sweet and helpful! 1st easy-92, 2nd test-58 so dont get cocky. attendance not mandatory. 6-8 group quizzes. drops 2 lowest. 3 tests. 1 optional final. sweet to talk to! wants you to learn economics! he loves it! loves joking with you! class was a bit boring but great teacher. have a 75 atm, but have more stuff due! take this guy! (:
8 quizzes, 3 tests, cumulative final, study guides for ALL. extra credit. as someone who has not seen economics material since high school, attendance was mandatory to be able to keep up. he teaches quickly, so go to the SI sessions. do the practice questions on ulearn. overall, friendly guy who is quite helpful
GREAT PROFESSOR
The subject is interesting, but you will learn the same thing from just buying the textbook. Attending class is mandatory, but not of any value.
This guy is awesome. Very articulate, and very concise. Lectures are great; he's dynamic, interesting and provides anecdotes to help explain. Answers questions very well. True to the text- the text is good- well made tests and quizzes. Maybe my favorite professor
He's awesome. makes the class doable for sure. Definitely take him.
Take Him, He is extremely helpful and easy to understand. He gives powerpoints in advance. He also posts alot of practice questions before the test. This class consist 3 exam(20% each), and 6-10 quizzes (10%) Final is optional. He also gives curve on the test. He is really EASY and super awesome!!!! TAKE HIM!!!!!! got 98 in the class
Does not engage with his students
I would not recommend him. He gives you good curves and his quizzes are online (you can Google the questions), but his tests are not easy. The curves are only there because a majority of the class gets a low grade. Also he gives you a 160-180 questions study guide and 2-3 of those questions are on the test...pointless.
1. HE IS NOT HOT. 2. HE CANNOT TEACH WELL / keeps wandering off topic. 3. Napoleon complex. Econ is already a hard subject, take someone who knows how to teach it, not him. I don't recommend him. He isn't even cute/hot. He's short and annoying. Group quizzes is a bonus but no one else knows anything to help. My avg grade was a B in the class.
My hardest class for sure.
Horrible professor. Literally seems like he knows nothing about economics. Attendance isn't mandatory. Curves a lot and you can get 7 extra credit points on tests. Final is optional. I would not recommend him unless he is a major backup
His lectures make the class seems very long & tortuous. Although he is very passionate about teaching economics, he makes most of his points very confusing in a way that none of his students understands. Economics is hard enough & the book doesn't explain it too well, therefore his lectures aren't very helpful either. Overall, he's average.
easy class. everything is done online. class time is not necessary. if you do the quizzes and study guides you'll breeze through the tests. be sure to take advantage of the study material because the final is no joke! easy A if you do good on the tests. class time however is a drag. everything is on the powerpoint. still i recommend him.
Professor Hunt is great! His classes are ideal, especially for students who want to ingest the key information and also enjoy multiple choice exams. Hunt is very flexible and understanding with his classmates. As long as you respect his lecture time, he will work with you if anything comes up. I would highly recommend for any Econ majors at GSU.
His class was easy and easy to understand. Everything is done online, and he give the easy test by multiple choice. His study guide is a lot of multiple choice question, like 100- 350 questions. but if you done with those questions on study guide, you will get A on test because he give the same question on test. And he gives extra credit.
I don't think his methods qualify as teaching.(ALMOST) Everyone who takes his class and does well is googling answers and using their phones during tests. He answers his own questions. He doesn't really look for any reaction from the class. The subject matter is difficult, and the CTW component can save you, but I hated this class.
Hunt is a long - winded professor. His class is easy if you utilize your textbook 100%. Class is optional. He gives extra credit and you can definitely score a B in his class with a little effort. not an easy A professor but he is definitely laid back and willing to give the opportunity for you to pass.
Just read the textbook and take notes. Homework will be easy. For exams, STUDY the study guides and your notes. Gives extra credit papers that add to your 2nd and final exam. If I would've tried harder I would've made an A but I ended the course with an 89.
Online homework assignments, two exams, and one final for your grade. He offers extra credit on exams and final if you write economic report. He also gave lots of practice problems for each chapter. He is nice. Read the book.
His tests get harder. The first exam was easy. The second one was hard. The final was even harder. Most of the questions come from the study guide. You can cheat sheets during tests, but that doesn't help if you don't read the book. He goes off topic a lot. There aren't a lot of tests. Only 2 + 1 final. Extra credit papers added to tests and final.
Brian will tell you on the first day of class that you can call him Brian. He will fool you on that first day, you will really think you are in for a great semester. You are not. Brian is VERY knowledgeable and will tell you some pretty cool stories, but when it comes to conveying info in the textbook his is terrible. Goes on long speels
Attendance is totally optional because his lectures are extremely long and resemble the information in the book, but he typically talks some-what off topic. No power-point to copy off from so you have to do your own studying/notes to pass this class. Class averages for all tests were in the 60s-70s. Does offer xtra credit but final was not curved.
He knows what he's talking about and structures his class like the "real world". He cares and knows his subject, but also has optional attendance, open book/note tests, and work with partners on quizzes. Recommend if you are interested in the subject.
gives a lot of extra credit and allows cheat sheet, however, you must read and understand the chapters to pass. Will have to teach yourself regardless if you attend class or not
Strong lecturer .. Passionate about economics.. Wants all of his students to do well with extra credit and such but he really wants students to learn the material I enjoyed his lectures because they were not the typical lectures that only involve the regurgitation of facts and terms from the book which was great because the textbook was not ideal
His lectures are pointless to attend because they do not relate to the 200+ question study guides he gives.
Brian likes to ramble in his lectures, give 100+ question study guides that are different than the lectures, and then make the test questions different also. His class is based on a few grades so passing is easy.
Easy A if you read the textbook and practice a few questions. The lectures are boring, but most lectures (no matter the class are). However, if you really enjoy economics, I think you will like him. It is clear professor Hunt enjoys teaching this subject.
Easiest class ever. Grades are: 25% homework, 25% each for tests 1, 2, and 3. His lectures are long and boring, but unnecessary. I stopped going to class the 3rd week and still passed. He also gave 3 extra credit opportunities
Hunt was an easy class. Just read the chapters he is going over and you'll learn what you need to know in no-time. He gives 200 question study guides but I skimmed over them and still recieved A's on all 4. Attendance isn't mandatory and you can tell he's passionate about Economics. I would gladly take him again.
His lectures mostly have nothing to do with the material. You may find it useful to not go to class and read the book instead. Using the book will get you a fairly easy A.
The lectures are not helpful at all, might as well not even go to class. He rambles about current issues in economics not what is on the test. You need to buy his personal book to understand the material not Norton Smartworks.
Lectures have nothing to do with what's on the test. Going to SI is more beneficial.
I loved this class. A lot of people had a hard time with it, it is difficult subject matter not the best class to take if you are straight out of high school. That said, this class is an easy A. Just do the study guides and the extra credit papers, there is no reason you shouldn't do well. I learned more in this class than all my other classes.
I got a 107 in the class, but thats because i read the textbook and came to every class. Lecture has nothing to do with tests, but i like that- most intro courses have professors reading off of powerpoints made by the textbook, but hunt talks about current events and things that affect me economically, good lectures. You will need to read the text
Take him no matter what class he offers. Had 3 of his classes so far, best by far. You won't get much from his lectures, but you really don't need to attend classes to pass with an A. Homework is online and that's where most exam questions will come from. Gives an extra credit paper (7%) before each exam. He is very knowledgeable in this field.
THIS IS THE BEST TEACHER I EVER HAD AT GSU .. IF YOU DONT understand something simply GO ASK HIM HE MAKES HIS SELF available AND CARE about students learning
Professor Hunt was awesome. I was not interested in what he taught whatsoever. His class is very easy. Just show up to class, do your homework, do his quizzes on time, and do his two extra credit assignment.
Mr. Hunt is a very nice guy. Most of the time nobody has any idea what he is talking about. Good thing you have a book. Also, don't buy his book. You will do fine with the normal textbook. He curved our exams by 10 points. He also gives extra credit papers for each test. They are 10 extra points if you do them. Do them even if you think you don't.
TAKE HIM! You will not regret it!! He has 2 tests, a final, and the unlimited attempt SmartWorks homework. Tests are online and open-book so you can use your notes and an extra computer to take the test. SmartWork is easy because you have unlimited attempts. You should pass even if you don't go to class. His lectures are boring and not helpful.
A few of Mr. Hunt's lectures were amazing, and watching him pace the room as he spoke quickly about our downturned economy was intriguing. However, the majority of his lectures were essentially nonsense, him rambling about quotas, price discrimination, and market inequalities. Tests were online, we used Chegg to get an A. Find another Econ class.
The homework assignments go hand-in-hand with the textbook. They're not hard, but they are quite time-consuming. Hunt's lectures are sporadic and often repetitive. If you can learn the content on your own, do that. This wasn't my favorite class, but it was doable.
Lectures were not very useful and I didn't attend but half of them. There was weekly homework that was okay but the online tests were challenging and required a deep understanding of the concepts, or assistance from Google. Final was tough - he doesn't curve anything or make exceptions for anything. He gives two extra credit paper opportunities.
amazing until the final. didn't use the textbook, but I advise you to use it. He taught nothing. I had an A before the final which was really hard and curved. He gives 2 extra credit opportunities. Do not waste time going to lectures, he rambles. I never attended class because it wasn't helpful. attendence - not mandatory
Prof Hunt knows a lot. Upbeat and loves economics. However, don't believe he was effective at teaching. Hardly anyone came to class because he tends to ramble as others have indicated. Staying on one topic for almost 3 classes was unbelievable. Most students heavily cheated on online exams and then got mad when the in-class final wasn't curved.
Ive been having a hard time with this class this semester, Well most of my classmates basically. I know I would go to tutoring twice during the same week staying from 8am until 2pm to get help with NSWS and for the test . The class is just stressful itself :(
Sorry I had to start over again, disregard the first post where it says GOOD. this is my correct rating, yes this class is very stressful, Ive been going to tutoring twice during the same week from 8am until 2pm, the lectures have nothing to do with the test. I also noticed that we would stay on one POWERPOINT slide for at least 30 mins.
He was a nice guy and very approachable, but he is just not a good teacher. You basically have to teach yourself by reading a lot of the chapters in the textbook. The textbook is going to be your best bet to pass the class because his lectures are not helpful. He does give extra credit to add to exams. Lectures are lengthy/ hard to follow.
His lectures are not useful at all. If attendance wasn't mandatory, I would not have gone, because they were not useful I am sure he knows what he is talking about, but he needs to be aware that his students do not have prior knowledge of economics. I basically taught myself the entire class. Luckily he offers extra credit or I would be doomed.
He uploaded practice test questions for each chapter, but a lot of the questions were outdated or from the wrong chapter. He had a few questions on the test that weren't even on stuff we learned. Also, the chapters he put in the modules didn't match the chapters that were on the tests. Disorganized class but dropped the lowest test.
Very chill laid back prof doesn't really care if you show up or not. The class itself isn't really that hard just do the homework. Lets you use study guide on the final.
This teacher is amazing! All the answers are online and he gives extra credit for each unit. He is also very nice and gives extensions whenever you want. We do three assignments, one extra credit activity, and one discussion post every week and they are all super easy. I highly recommend taking this teacher!
Gave extensions and extra credit often
Had a really great semester with him, light workload and his lectures are interesting!
Taken in the Fall of 2022. Amazing professor and really passionate about Econ. I don't even like Econ and I don't feel that way anymore. Just put some efforts into this course and you should be good with atleast a B.
Best econ professor ever
the easiest class i've taken so far. very little work to be done. he assigns 3 modules to be done every month which is plenty of time. and most times he gives a week extension. he also gives so much extra c
Good professor
