great teacher....if you are in any kind of technical major he is the one to take. relates everything to physics and electronics so its pretty easy to understand. only wish he taught higher math.

Like others have said, bends over backwards to try to make sure everyone understands what is going on. Coming from a bad math background, this guy was a lifesaver. I'm taking him next semester, as I would recommend anyone who can get into his class do.

Great professor. Is truly an asset to the class rather than just an repeater of what the book already states. Really wants to see his students succeed. If you do poorly in his stats class you'll do poor in all of them and cannot blame him.

One of the best teachers I have ever had in math. Has no problem working with you in relation to the subject or situation. He rewards the people that put forth the effort and drowns the lazy ones.

One of the Best teacher I have ever had he make learning fun and educational. He will also help you after you leave his with anything in your other Math course. It some hard work and you got to put some time into it.

one of the best math teachers I have had. he give you 2 lab reports for 50 extra credit points, no other teacher does that. It helps boost your grade! very willing to help. I would advise taking him.

I was very disappointed at having to take another math class after testing out of calc. I took MTH153 as an easy A and he really took his time with those who didn't understand. I really wish I had taken him for a more advanced course, it's a shame I didn't try getting him with calc 2 instead.

very helpfull! mth 160 is a hard course and he makes it as easy as possible. if you have questions just ask he will without a doubt help you with your troubles. i highly reccomed taking him for any of your math classes that you have to take.

the class itself is not intended for someone who doesn't have the time, he has a bit of an ego problem, but overall a great teacher and makes the class easy for you if you pay attention and put in a little effort. Who else tells you the questions on all the tests?

I heard Math160 was a hard class but if you take James you will most def. pass. Do what he says, study what he tells you and stay uptodate w/the material bc everything DOES build on each other. also everything he tells you that will b on the test or final...WILL be on the test or final. Overall great teacher.

I won't lie to you, I hated the damn class. Still it was the best math class I have had at PCT, bar none. He would basically give you the test! A lot to be said about those who dropped this class... Just do the stupid homework. The ego issue made class retarded and he would play mind games on a daily basis. Honestly, it helped me get though it.

Will help anyone willing to pass. Take notes and your golden. Helps relate math to commun things such as sports. Best math teacher I have ever had.

Just finished this summer course and learned a lot. I would not take stats again in this short of time, but he handled it well. I will add that you are always involved in the class as he teaches.

Class moves fast. He makes many references to common topics to relate the physics. Also teaches math. Overall good job.

The class was doable. He did a great job of relating the material to real life applications. I would take it on a MWF next time with him instead of a TT.

B James is one of the best math profs i've ever had, hes got a unique teaching style that is very effective.

I worry about math courses, and the concepts were a challange. I liked B. James. He is funny as hell, likeable and clear. If you go to his office he is more than willing to help you out. The lab is an on your own stlye, however it does not impact your grade all that much. He is good and I would take him again.

B James is a great professor. He's got a great personality and he's funny as hell. The class is kind of hard especially since alot of the grade is based off of 4 major tests, and a final. The homework assignments were optional but I would recommend doing it cuz it helps. Math is my worst subject and Professor James made it fun to learn.

James is by far the best STATS professor to take. He makes this class awesome and easy to learn. His teaching methods are amazing and very funny guy. Just listen to him do the homework and you will be just fine. He even gives you HINTS about whats on tests and quiz how easy can to get. AA++

He's a good professor. I had him for MTH 180 and had no problems! If you do your homework you will understand what he's teaching. If you don't then don't expect a good grade. He's funny so he makes the class go by quick

Possibly one of the best math teachers I have had. He shows you exactly what he wants for the test. Not time consuming like others are rumored to be. I have him 5 days a week and he keeps it interesting. A lot of random statistics and current information. Very williing to help. He understands not everyone likes math and will help you through it.

Best math teacher in the school, hands down. I struggled through mth 182 last year, but this year he made understandable and even...dare I say it...FUN! If you can, take this teacher for whatever math class you need.

Best class out of my major I have taken. He kept it reasonable (survey class) and applied most physics concepts to real life. Easy going instructor.

Defintely not easy, but he really works to reinforce your basic trig skills and move onto tougher concepts. Has an application for any topic taught. Take if you can.

Currently in this course after failing with a different instructor. James is so much better. Clearer instruction and applies the material better. Very straightforward, do what he asks and you do fine.

Refer to his instructions throughout the course. He was very responsive in the distance learning course I took. Always answered questions promptly. Couldn't say enough good things about him. His online videos were very helpful.

If you don't put in the effort he won't help you out. However, if you do what you have to, he will work with you as much as you need. Gives plenty of chances to pass the class through easy homework, projects, attendance points even if you are struggling with the material.

I have had him for 3 classes because he is good. He is very tolerant, but if continual ridiculous questions happen he will make a sarcastic remark. I prefer this, to keep the idiots in check.

The thing you have to understand about Prof. James is that he is blunt. He tells you what you need to know for each quiz/exam. If you decide not to learn it he doesn't care. His tests are fair. He is also very helpful but you must seek out the help on your own. Overall a reasonable and knowledgeable professor. Take him. The alternatives profs suck.

A great professor that keeps the class entertained, bringing in real world statistics and not just using 'Disney World' problems. He is very clear in what he expects from a student, but works with students long as he sees students trying. I highly recommend him if you are looking for a math class where you will NOT fall asleep.

James def knows his "stats" He is the kind of prof that truly loves his job....You have to keep up with the homework and show up for class. He doesn't tolerate any slack. He does a great job of making stats interesting and you will learn from him.

Excellent professor. Strives to ensure all students are on the same page. He gives all expectations prior to beginning the class. He explains exactly how to do well in his class. His lectures are clear and concise. I've taken two courses with him and would recommend him to anyone. If you cant pass his class you don't belong in college.

The two most important traits that make for a good prof it their knowledge of the subject and their desire to pass along that knowledge and James has both. Truly one of the best profs I've ever had and I've attended several different schools. Its not an easy class but that's because its not an easy subject but he makes it as reasonable as possible

He is a very good teacher and is straight forward with testing materials. He gets very excited about math and usually goes off on tangents when answering questions but he teachs well. His tests can be challenging but if you do the little bit of homework he gives each night you will be fine. Test questions commonly come from homeworks.

Humor is class makes it fun. Straight forward and helpful. Connects the topic to real situations. Says what will be on the test, so as long as you pay attention and do homework you'll do fine. By far one of the best teachers I have had.

Mr. James is the man. He keeps the class interesting and the homework assigned is always relative to class work and quizzes. It's not too much homework and each assignment is not excessive. He's funny and interesting and try's to help you get an A. Great Teacher.

He is a great professor who really keeps you entertained during class. Keeps the mood upbeat and loves to interact with all of the students at a more personal level. If you need physics of any level I would highly recommend this professor to anyone of any learning level. Not too much homework, and he selects only the problems that will be needed.

Fantastic, fair, honest teacher. From what I've heard from other students, James is the bet teacher to take Stats with. He makes sure students having trouble stay afloat, and challenges students that do well. The class is difficult, but James does a great job of being enthusiastic and explaining everything very well. 10/10, would take again.

Honestly the best math teacher and class I have ever taken. The class moved fast and James made that quite clear. The material was clear cut and he would always help if you asked. He wants to see people succeed but he is honest when it comes to your performance. If you are not doing well he would tell you flat out and challenge you to do better.

Brian James is a wonderful instructor, and he should be getting paid much more than the $11.00 at Penn College. I don't even enjoy math but I loved this class with James. He will make you laugh and learn at the same time. He tells you what's on the tests all throughout the semester. Do the homework, study, and ask for help. James is great.

He really is a great teacher, he's easy to understand and definitely knows what he's talking about.

Also a distance education stats student. I thought it was very fair and I learned a lot. He offers virtual office hours every Sunday night where you can ask anything and he solves problems for you. Considering it was statistics and online, I thought it was well done.

Online statistics is not easy, but he made it doable. Very organized class, but you must stay on schedule. Took him on campus for a different class and he is great in the classroom, distance has its challenges for this type of course. I would recommend.

Just completed MTH160 distance ed. I learned a lot but worked hard. James helps a lot but you have to stay on schedule.

I had to take this stat course online. I would recommend going to campus for this course. If you stay on track like he recommends you should do fine, but it is a lot of work. Towards the end of the semester I started to slack because the material got tough, and it did affect my grade. He seems to care and help those who try. Nice guy!

Bryan James has a great enthusiasm for the martial in which he is teaching. He comes in every day with a energy that wakes up everyone and prepares us to pay attention. One of the best aspects of his class is that he relates statistic to each of our majors which gives this support class a feeling of a major class.

I took the stats course online. The calendar is very specific about what to do to stay on schedule, if you do that you will be fine in this course. I have heard that James is really good on campus, but hard to get into his classes.

Professor James was by far the best math professor Ive taken for a online course. Hes very willing to help you the best he can. I would definitely take a class with him again! Would recommend if you need an easy math elective!

Online Course

After being out of school for a few years I was worried about returning, especially with math! He is SO helpful and prompt with returning questions. As long as you stay on schedule, read, watch the videos and do the homework you should do great! I would def take him again!
