He wasn't the most remarkable professor. Most of the class was participation based but you had to show up to class for TopHat participation. The class was super easy but the tests had questions on it that you would only know if you showed up to class and paid attention.
Like the other person said, you need to have decent attendance to do well even though its not mandatory. Very, VERY easy class. Spent maybe 30 minutes outside of class all year for the class, that was just to take the 5 quizzes which are essentially free 100s. If you show up every class and keep one ear open, you will get an A without studying.
This class is very straight forward and a relatively easy A. There's a couple of assignments and online quizzes here and there but you can easily get 100s on them. Tests aren't hard if you study. Attendance isn't absolutely mandatory but he does use top hat for participation. Overall a really nice, funny guy and I enjoyed his class!!
Dr. Kiepper is an amazing professor! He is very knowledgeable about agriculture and makes all the lectures fun and engaging. Questions on the tests come straight from the PowerPoints so those are easy A's. There is one group project that is really easy and counts for 15% of your grade so it's a real grade booster. Would definitely take again!
Dr. Kiepper was by far one of my favorite professors. If you're an agriculture major or need a World Culture credit, his class is definitely worth taking. He uses TopHat and although attendance is NOT mandatory, he does count TopHat questions for credit. Dr. Kiepper is passionate about what he teaches and makes the class fun! Highly recommend!
Pretty great guy. Take some notes and WATCH THE VIDEOS and you'll be solid for the tests. Group poster project near the end, 10 online journals, 5 online quizzes, and 3 common sense, non-cumulative tests. Easy class, no hard material, just keep an ear open. Dr. Kiepper is a pretty funny guy and the lectures (for the most part) are interesting.
Very easy class and he gives you plenty of opportunities to boost your grade with tophat questions. Tests are fairly simple but are much easier if you actually show up and pay attention
To take this class you must stay organized and make sure you do not forget any assignments. I went into this class looking for an easy 4.0 and would have had it had I not forgotten a journal and an online quiz. Although Dr. Kiepper claims attendance is not mandatory, in-class tophat questions are a part of your grade. overall enjoyable class
Definitely take this class if you're in need of an easy A! You have to stay organized to succeed, but overall it was not bad at all. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I would recommend going because you get Tophat points and he puts a lot of questions from guest lectures/videos on the exam. He's a great prof, highly recommend!
SO funny and does a good job of relating agriculture topics to things students actually care about. He is really a funny guy, show up and do TopHat for extra credit. Pay attention and study the night before and you will be fine. DO THE JOURNALS AND QUIZZES BECAUSE THEY ARE EASY As but if you miss more than one it is hard to make an A in the course.
This class is easy. You gotta GO TO CLASS though and it'll be even easier. Tests have very specific questions that you just have to memorize info for
Dr. Kiepper isn't a bad professor, but his tests are very specific to cover so much material (3 tests in the whole course). His lectures are okay, and takes TopHat for participation. At the end of the semester, you have to do a poster presentation, which is a group project and is pretty easy, just time-consuming.
Great teacher, lectures were always entertaining. Took easy 10 question quizzes online, 10 journals, also very easy, 2 exams a final and participation top hat. Show up to class and passing should be a breeze.
Easy A. Just remember to do the online quizzes (5) and journals (10), then there are three super straightforward exams and a final group project. I didn't go to many of his lectures, attendance is not mandatory and he posts notes, -but I recommend going to the guest lectures. They are a popular source of exam questions and notes aren't provided.
Discussions and quizzes weekly, clicker questions for extra credit, 3 tests and a poster project
Professor Kiepper is great because he is very clear on his grading criteria. We do tophat every class, which is extra credit. Make sure you do the tophat in class because if you don't, he threatens to take all of those points away. Also, the group project is annoying but he grades it easily. Don't miss the online quizzes/ journals bc thats easy As.
This class is an easy A. There are 3 tests that are straightforward from the lectures. There is one very easy group project. This class has some outside work, such as journals and quizzes, but they are easy, so do not forget to do them. He is clear on grading. Attendance is not mandatory, but come for guest speaker days to do well on the tests.
This class was fairly straightforward; however, he would trick us on some tests by asking specific questions about guest lecturers (despite class not being mandatory). Takes a top hat for extra credit, but make sure to get lots of points in this! Final is mostly recycled questions from tests. Group project is easy 100 if you put in some effort.
GO ON LECTURE DAYS. He puts super specific questions on his test that aren't easily studied for or found within any notes.
Easy group project, 10 journals- do them and you get 100, 5 quizzes that you can use the slides for. Attendance isnt mandatory expect test days and project day. Really easy A if you study slides and go to class for tophat/guest speakers. Tests are heavy on random facts from guest speakers. But other than that tests are basic slides/quizzes info.
Amazing culture class! SO easy to get an A if you simply follow his instructions. Gives the clearest grading criteria and a schedule so no excuse to miss any work. Only have to come on test days, but topcoat gives easy extra points that many people don't realize the need until its too late.
He is very specific on what he wants you to do. Do what he ask and you will get an easy A. He has 10 journals which are completion grades, 5 quizzes which come from the slides and an easy group project at the end. His test are easy but some of his questions come from guest speakers so go on those days. His final is mostly old test questions.
The class consisted of journals graded for completion, easy quizzes from lecture slides, tests, and a group project at the end. Go to class for TopHat questions. Kiepper was pretty funny and interesting and the class is definitely an easy A. Some test questions are seemingly random, especially from guest lecturers (so go to class those days).
Overall, very interesting class and instructor. He is very clear of his expectations and grading, and is strict of that. Journals and quizzes are easy. Tests are not bad. Go to class for TopHat questions extra credit.
Not a ton of homework, just little weekly assignments/quizzes. Ive made 100 on everything in the class and a 90 avg on the 2 exams. Final project poster is super easy. Expecting like a 97 in class. Very easy, take it. Tophat points every class too
I love Dr. Kiepper so much! His lectures were always entertaining and made coming to class worth it, even though attendance wasn't necessary. There are small weekly assignments that aren't hard at all, tests, and then a group project at the end that's relatively easy. He gives 'bonus' points for attendance.
Dr. Kiepper is a nice guy who really enjoys teaching his course. Classes aren't mandatory, but you should go on the days there are public speakers, because you will be tested over it! I recommend always going for the extra credit points, because you have to get a 95 in the class to get the A, but overall, it's an easy class with a decent professor.
A nice easy A! Grading criteria is quite clear from day 1. I'd recommend this class to anyone and everyone- if it fulfills ANY type of requirement for you... TAKE IT! I'll miss this class, I genuinely enjoyed going.
This class is a must take and an easy A. However, make sure you still study for the tests, they are very specific!
Dr. Kiepper has been my favorite professor at UGA so far! This class is so easy, just show up, take notes, review a bit before the exams and you will pass with a breeze. Do the journals and quizzes too, easy A's. Participation with TopHat is optional but are good bonus points. Poster project is easy, but time-consuming.
Dr. Kiepper 's class was so interesting. He uses lots of videos and guest speakers in his class which made it more engaging. The tests are extremely detailed so you have to pay attention and take notes, but it is not too difficult.
Dr. Kiepper has interesting lectures that aren't mandatory as TopHat counts for 25 points of extra credit. Make sure to go when there are guest speakers because there will be exam questions. Journals are easy 100s and quizzes are open notes where you can use the posted lecture slides. The exams are fair. The final was by far the most challenging.
Dr. Kiepper is highly prepared for lectures and makes 75 minute classes fly by, although he rarely keeps you the full amount of time. 25 points of extra credit are available for class participation. Thoroughly enjoyed his class and would take again.
Dr. Kiepper makes a 75 minute TTH class really entertaining. He also doesn't keep you the entire time. 10 Journals, 2 hour exams, 5 quizzes, a group project and a final. He also offers 25 top hat extra credit points. It was the difference between me having a B+ and an A- in the class.
Dr. Kiepper is an entertaining teacher, which makes his class really enjoyable, but the main grades are 2 tests full of the most random details, so if you don't come to class, you won't know some things. However, if you're gonna skip, skip lecture days but always come to guess speakers, that's where he gets a lot of test questions. USE QUIZLET!
Go to class for the guest speakers because you're tested on them. I also took notes in all his lectures and it helped me study tremendously, but most people don't pay attention. Easy journals. Poster project is a breeze. Don't forget to take the quizzes (open-note)--they're only open for a day.
My favorite class my first semester here. I found the class to just be interesting in general. Just do not forget to do the quizzes. I forgot to do one and got a 0 but I still finished the class with an A. Poster project is actually pretty easy. The small amount of outside work doesn't take long to do at all.
This class is easy to pass if you have an ag background, and you will skip class almost the entire semester because he's an awful presenter. His lectures drag on for far too long, the info is stuff you will already know, and the exam questions are bizarrely based on things that happen in-class despite having no class attendance. Extra credit is bad
Easy Class!! Make sure you pay super close attention to the guest speakers because about half the test are based on them. The lectures are very interesting and he is so funny! None of the information is difficult to understand, even if you know nothing about ag.
Definitely take this class! Lectures are really interesting and he is very engaging. Do the TopHat for easy points. The group project is the hardest part
Turn your stuff in and youll pass. Just dont be lazy. This class is so easy.
Professor Kiepper is an amazing person. He is a very easy teacher who is very clear in what he expects from his students. Classroom environment is always very focused in discussion and you definitely do not wanna miss class. He does not assign too much work either, so don't miss deadlines for any assignment. Definitely take him if you can!!!
Dr. Kiepper is awesome. Ag is a very interesting class and probably the easiest class for UGA's world language and culture requirement. Go to class and you can make an A.
Dr. Kiepper's class was one of the most interesting and engaging classes I have taken, there is one class offered each semester, I took it for a WLC credit. He really cares about the material and conveying it to the students. He uses TopHat to track participation, but not really attendance. Take this class if you can it is an easy A if you show up.
Easy A. However, his exam material focuses on some pretty irrelevant stuff to his lectures. This past lecture we had to know the favorite childhood sport of the food processing supervisor guest speaker. Considering his favorite sport was touched on for about 5 seconds of the hour and 15 minute long lecture, Dr. Kiepper. asks some dumb questions.
Easiest World Language and Culture Credit you can take. There are two lectures, one quiz, and one journal entry due each week. Not going to lie, lectures can be very boring, but the rest of the homework is very easy. You have to do the work to do well on the tests since they are on lockdown browser.
If you are a student who puts in some work and stays on top of lectures/journal entries/quizzes, you will get an easy A. The students that complain about this class put in little to no effort to even try. My only complaint is that some of the questions are very specific (especially questions about the guest speakers)
The class is a breeze and the weekly work is easy but the exams are pretty dumb. A significant portion of the questions on the exams are from past quizzes. BUT you don't have access to the quizzes once you've taken them. This coupled with the amount of irrelevant, impractical knowledge that is tested on for the exams makes them a pain.
This class required minimal effort. Weekly quiz and journal assignment each week. The exams are lockdown browser and are closed notes. Exams are easy but he does love to ask the most irrelevant-to-the-class questions on them. The content you learn in this class is actually very very interesting.
Dr. Kiepper's class was fine. His lectures each week involved powerpoint slides, 1 quiz, and 1 journal, which was pretty easy. However, his tests were difficult due to unnecessarily specific questions that had nothing to do with agriculture. Get ready to know the details of everything and everyone, especially lectures concerning guest speakers.
I enjoyed Professor Kiepper's class. Lectures were normally pretty interesting and there were only a few assignments due per week. Tests were normally extremely specific so it is necessary to watch all the lectures and take notes. Additionally, he used a lot of guest speakers in his lectures Overall, I would recommend taking Professor Kiepper.
you have a lot of assignments which is good if you do well on most of them. weekly quizzes and journal assignments. should be able to get A's on all if you put in a little effort. 2 videos a week to watch that can be long and boring (speed them up). tests are the hardest parts. memorize random stats and pay attention to guest lecturers.
Really nice guy, lectures boring, 1 Journal and quiz per week that are easy and straightforward. Main problem were the tests. Big chunk of questions being insanely specific to things he mentions once in class or a tiny detail about a guest speakers experience. If you want an A+ be prepared to remember where they grew up & if they had a cousin. (??)
Really enjoyed this class w/ Kiepper. Great choice for world culture credit & non ag majors. Lectures are fairly interesting, hw is very minimal and easy if you have lecture slides or good notes. About 20% of exam questions are very specific especially with guest speakers - focus on their background. Overall, easy A with relatively minimal effort.
The class was completely online, therefore extremely easy to squeeze in between scheduled in-person classes. There are two weekly assignments- 1 quiz and 1 journal, all easy and doable if you complete his lectures. The test however will quiz you on everything! Nothing is left out; not even the short videos he wants you to watch with the lectures.
Dr. Kiepper's class had minimal work, but did not help me learn much at all. Lectures were straight from reading off the powerpoint. And be ready to memorize guest lecturer's second favorite pet for exams. He also does not believe mental health is an illness, so if you miss an assignment because of this, his response will be very unsympathetic.
worst professor at UGA, hands-down. He does not update ANY of his lectures, which is shocking because he demands a RIDICULOUS amount of participation on the student's end. Also, his test are outrageously hard because his questions ask for irrelevant and extremely picky information. I would not recommend this professor to my worst enemy.
Brian is awful. I would not recommend that anyone take him. Take Any other class, he doesn't teach you anything but expects you to know virtually everything for an exam. he acts like this is the only class that kids take. I'd rather poke my eyeball and bathe in my own blood than listen to this monotone voice for one more minute.
This is a very low effort class - 1 assignment that is very easy and short per week, and 1 open book quiz per week. 2 lectures per week with easy to digest content. Tests, however, could be made much better. Ag concepts were not very heavily tested on, but very specific pieces of info and insanely specific questions about guests were present.
literally just don't take this class
I want to start out by saying Dr. Kiepper is very organized, following the same weekly routine schedule of quizzes and journals. However, the tests are so insanely specific. I studied and took very detailed notes on all of the lectures and still made a C and B on the first two tests. Be prepared to memorize the most irrelevant guest speaker info.
This class is very well laid out and you know that you have a quiz and a journal due every Friday, 2 tests, and a final. The week to week work is super light, but when it comes to be test time, the tests are super detailed and hard for no good reason. It is not worth it to take this class to fill a random culture credit- find something else.
This professor got pretty good reviews, but I regretted this class about a month in. His lectures are very boring and he uses the most irrelevant information from the lectures in the exams. Also, I payed attention to each lecture thoroughly and took a lot of notes, and I still could only get a high B on the exams at most. Would not recommend.
His lectures are boring. His class is alright- its organized but thats the only good part of it. As for the tests, they are insanely specific. If you don't make a flash card on every single detail, you'll do poorly. He doesn't give any guidance on what is important to know for the exam. Don't take him. Fill your credit elsewhere.
His weekly work of a quiz and journal are not hard, but he makes the window to even see the prompts & complete them awfully small however doesn't accept late work. His lockdown tests are more about the random life facts than agriculture. No extra credit. What gets to me the most is how skewed the grading is! Not worth it.
Really just not my favorite class. Did not have much work and as long as you follow the instructions on the journals you make 100's. Study hard for the test though because they are heavy for your grade. Be ready to memorize EVERYTHING from the lectures because its all fair game. Like if he said his dog's name I would write it down.
I really do not know why Dr. Kiepper is getting bad reviews. His class was insanely easy. Watch his lectures and complete his easy assignments (quizzes, journals) on time and you will do fine. A few of the questions on his exams are super specific, but there are plenty of easy questions to make up for them. Highly recommend!!
Kiepper's class for AESC 2050 was enjoyable as well as easy to learn. All the information he gave was interesting as well. Test and quizzes are easy if you study the material.
Dr. Kiepper is one of my favorite professors I have ever had. He is so funny, and it is so easy to pay attention in his class because he makes it so interesting. You need to show up to class. If you listen to him, you will make As on the tests. It is not stressful at all. Best elective class I have ever taken. Very minimal work outside of class.
Kiepper is very clear on his class policies at the start of the year. While the content is not difficult, it is a-lot of content. Tests offer a-lot of questions which cover weeks of class lectures so they can be very challenging if you do not study or go to class. If you don't plan on going to class, do not take this class.
AESC 2050 was a pretty straightforward class, Dr. Kiepper made it clear at the beginning of the semester what is due when and the lack of leniency his class offers due to its size. The tests were pretty specific, but not impossible if you attend lecture. He is a great professor, take this class!
Dr. Kiepper was an awesome professor. He made it very clear at the beginning of the semester of his intentions for the class. Tests are fairly easy but there are questions about details that you might not know if you skip class. Overall, this class was pretty easy, so definitely take it if you can!!
Dr. Kiepper is a great professor. He makes his expectations very clear from the beginning of the semester. Some test questions are very specific, but attending the lectures is enough to know the answers to said questions. This was the only lecture I always looked forward to. Dr. Kiepper is very engaging and the class material is interesting. 10/10
Dr. Kiepper is an awesome guy. His lectures are by far the most interesting lectures i have attended in three years at UGA. He has a lot of grades, but most are just busy work/common sense and the tests are super easy if you just show up and listen to lectures. Definitely would take again!
Lectures are interesting. Study for the multiple-choice tests and you are fine. Actually memorize the smallest details like info about the guest lecturers. If you are good at memorizing, it is an easy A. Homework is a joke just cite a primary source when asked and you are fine.
He is very straightforward about the possible points you can earn in his class. Put in the work, because if you miss something, you can't get those points back. No extra credit. Participate and think about the material logically. You have easy weekly journal entries and few in-class exams. Nothing is hard but pay attention! Notes matter.
No attendance, all that is required is 2 Exams, 1 Final, Weekly journals (which are so easy), a few online open note quizzes, and an end of the semester poster group project. Super easy class if you put in the smallest amount of effort and check eLC. Material is also more interesting than what I thought it would be like. Good world culture credit!
I love professor Kiepper and this class. Attendance is not mandatory, but important if you want to do well. Super easy and straight forward. Do your work, he will not give extra credit but assignments are super easy. Learn little details for the exams. Best class i have taken at UGA. His lectures are super interesting and he's such a cool guy
I loved AESC 2050. Dr. Kiepper is a very sweet guy and his lectures are super interesting. His guidelines are very clear. Exams and journals are easy. Definitely take this class!!!
Dr. Kiepper's class is not hard if you are good at memorization. Majority of your grades will come from the long MC tests which are not hard if you are "engaged in class" and study. His lectures are not mandatory but your grade will drop if you do not attend.
won't accept late work you're kinda just screwed if you forget but the assignments are very quick and easy if you stay on track. He makes the lectures as interesting as I think he could. As long as you take detailed notes you can pass the exams easily. You have to pay attention in class&go to lectures to do well but overall it's a good easy class.
i love dr. kiepper!! i thought the lectures were interesting and the class is super organized/outlined v well. as long as you keep up with dates in the syllabus and go to class (at least most of the time), the class requires rly little effort!!
As long as you do assignments on time and take good notes, there's no reason to not get an A+. The class is super easy as long as you actually go to class, and his lectures are super interesting.
I LOVED THIS CLASS!! Dr. Kiepper is so entertaining and his class is very interesting. The quizzes and tests are really easy. Just make sure to study the PowerPoint. He makes the class interactive and there is one major group project but it's not hard. There are weekly journals but are not much work at all. Highly recommend!! :D
Take this class. I barely went to class and finished with an A. Weekly Journals and Quizzes every other week which are easy and take little time. Two tests which are exactly from the slides and specific questions about videos watched in lecture. Semester-long group project that is easy but start it early! Great professor too, very lively at 8 AM.
Dr. Kiepper is funny and makes the lectures interesting. Tests are easy 75 questions multiple choice and most of the answers are from the lecture slides. He makes his expectations very clear at the beginning of the semester and he does not accept excuses, so turn in assignments and go to class. There is also a group project, but it's easy.
I really loved his class Very engaging which is so important for such a big class and being an 8am Super clear on expectations 1 weekly journal open notes quizzes multiple choice exams Its not hard at all you can barely pay attention and make great grades. No excuses which isnt as harsh as it sounds extra credit opportunities through the semester
Professor Kiepper is a very interesting professor. There are a lot of easy grades in the class and the exams are not hard. The lectures were great. While attendance isn't mandatory, I would strongly recommend attending each lecture since he will occasionally give out test answers. Would 100% take again.
I took AESC because I needed an easy culture credit and the class turned out to be surprisingly interesting. Dr. Kiepper is an engaging professor, and grading is easy as long as you do the work. He doesn't offer extra credit but it's easy to get full points if you attend class.
Dr. Kiepper comes off as a hard professor at first but as long as you go to the lecture and pay half attention you should pass with no problem! Awesome professor.
Super interesting class, great guy overall. Lectures cover all sorts of topics. No textbook so just need to study slides (on eLC). Doesn't play around with late work at all so stay on top of it, but other than that it isn't hard. Very reasonable workload. Make sure to watch in class videos and take home interview lectures and you'll do well.
I took Dr. Kiepper and Dr. Ritz's FYOS class, "Chicken 'Que: The Science Behind the Grill." Favorite class of all time. Class is all about learning how to properly flavor and grill chicken. Ends in a grill off with a panel of judges. Favorite day is when we butchered a whole chicken and watched all the girls freak out. Take this class!
AESC 2050 was awesome! No textbook required, but you will need to download tophat (online app). Dr. Kiepper has a very big personality and shows passion for Ag. KEY TO SUCCESS - go to his lectures and review the powerpoints on eLC. Grades are based off of quizzes (open note), journals (easy), tests, and one group project. Group project isn't bad.
Professor Kiepper was a great professor. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject, but knew that it wasn't for everyone and made it very simple and easy. There was one group project and 3 tests, and he made his lectures very interesting and worth going to at 8 AM.
Great class overall. If you show up to class and listen you will get a A. The exam are very easy, just some of the question (on like videos) are very specific. The quizzes are open notes and very easy; writing assignment also easy and take like max 1 hours to do.
I really enjoyed this class, and the professor kept the class fun and enjoyable.
The most interesting class to have as an 8AM. No complaints whatsoever about this class. Dr. Kiepper was great and made everything clear and fair. I came out of the class satisfied and gained a lot of applicable knowledge from this class. Lectures were important and I did not mind attending because they were always worth my time. Great professor.
I love Dr. Kiepper. His lecture style keeps the course interesting and he made me want to come to the class at 8am. There are not a lot of grades, but it's all so easy it doesn't really matter. Go to class and Kiepper basically tells you exactly what he wants you to know for tests. Pay attention to the videos he plays too.
Anyone who gives Dr. Kiepper below a 5 is kidding themselves. I def recommend taking this class; I had an 8am which sucked but I wasn't falling asleep in class. Knows what he's talking about and tests are very easy if you read over the lectures and go to class.
Very easy class, as long as you attend the lectures and take notes on all the bolded words your guaranteed to get an A. If I recall correctly 80% of his students get a B+ or higher, it takes effort to do worse!
This class is very straight forward and pretty simple. The lectures are all well-made and interesting. If you go to class and take notes you will make at minimum a B+. The tests are like 100 questions but not advanced level at all, it's all simple memorization of random things from class and lectures. Overall, a pretty good class for a gen cred.
Professor Kieper is great! I took this class as an elective and am so glad I did! Tests aren't difficult and all slides are posted, however I recommend going to class. He is a great, engaging lecturer. Take him!
The lectures were fun to attend and the class was going great until the tests. You have to memorize every random part of the lectures so the tests were not as easy as you think. If you are a good test taker you would love this class but, if you cannot memorize a lot of random information than I would find another class to take if this isn't required
dr kiepper's class was one of my highlights of the week. he is very knowledgeable with this class, and does a great job explaining the material. you do have to study pretty hard for the exams though. he will put a question on the exam about a random piece of information that you wouldn't know unless you were paying attention in the class.
Dr. Kiepper is an amazing lecturer but his exams are tough. He also does not allow any makeup work without a valid excuse so make sure you stay on top of things. This class is easy as long as you attend and pay attention. If you do have an issue, Dr. Kiepper is always willing to meet with you and help.
Kiepper is an opinionated man and isn't afraid to yell at his students. Fair warning- Don't wear a hat on test day. Get someone who's already taken the class to send you notes/old exams, make it to lecture bc there will be a random question from an in-class video on the test. Study in groups to compare information. Easy A, prepare for tests!
Attendance is not mandatory, but you should go to class because the tests are based on lectures alone. Weekly journal assignments w a few quizzes, both are easy and quizzes are opennote and online. I would recommend if, and some of the stuff we learned was pretty cool. We used TopHat for class activities, but you don't need to buy it.
Really straightforward guy. Interesting lectures. Tests are heavily based off lectures and quizzes are open note. Highly recommend.
TAKE THIS CLASS!! Dr. Kiepper is a gem, and although the tests are very specific and the guest speakers can be boring, this was my favorite class. Make sure to do ALL the assignments on time as he doesn't accept late work and you will need all the points. Nonetheless, its an easy A that'll actually teach you something (your world isnt THE world)!!
Dr. Kiepper is a wonderful lecturer who is entertaining and very informative. His class is easy. The lectures aren't mandatory, but occasionally there are test/quiz questions about information said in class that are not in the slides (esp guest lectures). Quizzes are online, open notes/ppt. He doesn't accept late work, so be careful!
Loved him. Pretty funny and involved lectures w/ tophat. Def go to class or you will miss out on test questions. Only thing is there is a lot of deadlines for quizzes and journals, so be very organized to not miss anything. But, nothing was ever hard. There is a group project at the end which was fine. My group did it in a few hours and got a 100.
Good guy, very clear about his expectations. I recommend attending class and taking good notes (pay attention to the guest lecturers and the videos!!!) I didn't go to class but I could find past quizlets that covered all the material. Exams are in person on paper, basically all memorization on the lectures. HW is easy, group project is easy
This class is super easy and fun to come to. I highly recommend this class if your interested in the field of agriculture or if you just want an easy class. Just make sure to complete all the assignments and watch all the videos and you will do good.
His lectures are very engaging, highly recommend attending class because there are often videos included in the slides that can't be watched on youtube. There is a decent amount of homework but none of it is especially hard or time consuming. Overall great class, cannot recommend it enough as an easy culture credit.
Kiepper is a very no nonsense kind of guy (don't even think about asking for extra credit or rounding a grade), but he is hilarious and very engaging. Don't have to go to class but I personally learned better listening to lecture. Only two midterms and all questions come from lecture slides and videos (WATCH THEM). Overall, based and epic professor
Lectures are heavy but most of the material can be found online and on quizlet. He cancels class a good bit and is a fair grader. Would def take again especially if you need a GPA booster
Dr. Kiepper is awesome! Lectures aren't mandatory but they are helpful and honestly flat out enjoyable. He is hilarious and uses TopHat to get a lot involvement and discussion started. Weekly assignments aren't too hard, but the majority of points come from three exams and a group project. If you put effort in you will be set.
I HAD AN 89 i was .09 off. i put in work. why was it hard. i was so close
GREAT CLASS and GREAT GUY. Lectures not mandatory (posts notes) but pretty interesting. Point system. 1-page journals every week. Quizzes (open note) and tests (in person paper). STUDY for the tests. Straight from notes. Quizlets help. Genuinely loved his class. Group project was pretty easy too. Learned so many fun facts in this class.
go to class, watch the videos, study. tests are easy if you study. loved the class. don't forget to watch the online lectures, these are always on the tests. he is an amazing teacher tho. 10/10
Tests are very straightforward and from the powerpoints. The group project is easy, the quizzes are from the powerpoints, and the journals are mostly just your opinion. Overall an easy class if you pay attention.
This class is all lecture based with 2 exams, a handful of quizzes, a ton of journals, a final, and a group project. Professor Kiepper is very interesting and manages to make the class interactive through TopHat and enjoyable. His tests are pretty straightforward but can be perceived as immensely difficult if you do not go to class.
He is so strict on the timeliness of assignments. The quizzes are only open for 24 hours and there are absolutely no excuses for missing one. The journals are open for longer, so that's a little better. But overall he is extremely unforgiving. Also, NEVER expect extra credit. Just submit work on time. Very picky MCQ test questions too.
As long as you show up and participate, you will get an A. The tests come straight from the lectures, so make sure you show up. The group project is not difficult. There is homework outside of class that helps with your grade. I highly recommend this course.
Such a great teacher, he's super entertaining. Make sure to pay attention to the videos in the lectures because that's a lot of the tests. If you show up, you will get a good grade, but it's a fun class to show up to so it's not that difficult.
Kiepper was mid. Funny guy but the class was just pretty boring. The tests you can find online on quizlet, coursehero, etc. which I STRONGLY recommend bc he reuses most of the questions.
Loved this class! Its very interesting and less about just farming more about culture. The tests very are easy but you have to go to class bc he asks small details from videos and what was said in lecture even though slides are posted. Also journals and open note quizzes which are easy 100's but don't forget to do them. Would 10/10 recommend
Loved Dr. Kiepper!! Quizzes and Test are easy if you pay attention and study before. Group project is easy too.
Dr. Kiepper is very proud of what he does. His lectures are interesting, although not mandatory. The class is always engaged and he often brings in guest speakers to talk about their personal farms. Easy credit and tests are straight forward, just study a little bit with quizlets that are already created.
Not very clear directions on the final project, but make sure your poster looks aesthetically pleasing
He was decent. Claims he doesn't look for tiny things in lectures, but he does; write everything down. ITake it with friends or meet people in case you miss a day. Group project isn't awful. I basically did the whole thing and it wasn't too bad. Journals are ALWAYS due on MONDAY NIGHTS. Even if there isn't class on Tuesday. The syllabus is WRONG.
Kiepper tells it how it is, he gives you every opportunity to succeed in his course truly because he wants you to get an A. His lectures move quickly but he posts the slides after class so you can see what you've missed. Your grade is comprised of quizzes, journal entries, group poster project, 2 exams, and a final exam.
Lectures can be boring but he sets clear standards for everything. Assignments are basically completion grades. Only got annoyed by tests bcs he asks abt most specific details and then is shocked when you don't know it. Like sorry I missed 2 seconds of that video we watched in class and missed the question on the test. Take DETAILED notes.
Go to class and this is the easiest A of your life. Kiepper knows his stuff.
His lectures are pretty engaging. tests are mostly easy with some in class material. interesting class even if not an ag major
really great professor. he made lectures interesting, and everything on the test was made clear in lecture. the group project is not difficult, and the weekly journals always took me less than an hour
One of the best profs I have ever taken. They way he does his lectures is like following story, he does an amazing job at teaching. This class requires little to no effort apart from a couple of quizzes and journals that require less then 30 min each. There is a project but it is not hard at all and pretty easy, My group finished it in two days.
Kiepper was pretty funny, laid back, and doesn't require attendance, BUT he does mention things in class that aren't on the lecture slides but will be on the test. Homework about every other class but it's easy and never more than one page.
Professor Kiepper is a relaxed and engaging instructor who makes his lectures interesting and easy to follow. The class is low-stress, with open-note quizzes, simple one-page homework, and an easy group project. Tests focus on lectures, and slides are posted online. He makes learning enjoyable. Highly recommended, even for non-ag majors!
If you go to lectures and just plainly listen and take a few notes you will do great. The "hardest" part was a group project that most people do amazing on if you just put in a bit of effort. Study a few days before the exams and you will do fine. Tests were all multiple choice and easy, he will give easter eggs throughout lectures sometimes.
He is pretty funny and makes his lectures engaging, but there are questions on the tests that are niche from in class videos that you wouldn't think matter. Easy one page hw and open notes quizzes. Class is full of information you would never learn in another class. Don't expect extra credit.
Dr. Kiepper is great. He loves what he teaches. Take him for an easy A as long as you do the journals and quizzes outside of class.
This class was very interesting! Quizzes (open note) and Journal assignments are basically completion grades. The group poster assignment is kind of vague but easy to figure out. The two tests are VERY lecture-heavy, so make sure you're paying attention, but he posts the full slideshows after every class. Low-stress class and would recommend!
Amazing professor, grading criteria is simple and set. Lectures (not mandatory) are very engaging. There are at home quizzes and journal assignments which are super simple. 2 tests and a final in person, super easy even if you paid a little attention in class. One group project which was straightforward, just ensure you pick good partners. Easy A.
He doesn't really care about his students, be is expected to study every single slide of the lectures and then be expected to recall specific things. People claim he's really good bc he is passionate about what he teaches which is nice sure. But as a non ag major, this is so overdone. But it is doable.
Entertaining professor who gives really great lectures! Make sure to take good notes because the exams are heavily based off the lecture content. There is a group project so be aware of that and start early. Dr Kiepper loves what he teaches and is passionate during his lectures! Take him and you will learn a lot of new things!
Dr. Kiepper is a very straightforward guy and tells you what he expects. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it definitely helps because he tells you what will be on the exams during class. There is a group project where you have to meet with your partners. Just make the poster aesthetically pleasing and you should be fine. Would recommend this class.
Dr. Kiepper's test is easy if you STUDY. His tests often have 60+ questions, but they aren't difficult. My mistake is that I didn't attend class regularly and missed key information from videos he showed that were on the test. It's tempting to skip, but you will do well if you attend the class.
Probably the best lecturer I've ever had
Old-school teacher who gives zero extra credit and no excuses on late assignments. He tells you there are 1000 points available and you need 920 for an A, and he doesn't round up. Be prepared to go to class and take notes because the tests are about the lectures. Near the end of the semester we do a group poster project which is pretty basic.
Dr. Kiepper is super funny and it's a great class to take. There is a group project at the end which is not bad. I got a B+ but an A is definitely doable.
This is by far my favorite class this semester. Lectures are interesting and engaging, assignments are straightforward and simple if you follow instructions. Exams and quizzes are easy if you study. Final group project can be fun or torture depending on how you treat it, I hate group projects typically and enjoyed doing it. TAKE THIS CLASS!!
He's an old-fashioned professor that takes teaching seriously. Overall, he's a fantastic dude and really solid with asking questions and guiding through lectures, which is all the information for the tests. Definitely would recommend.
Lots of weekly assignments like journals and quizzes. 3 exams and a group poster project. He does not give extra credit or extensions, but overall an easy class. But beware, he did call women birthing factories
Dr. Kiepper is an amazing lecturer, and makes his class interesting. The work is very simple and the group project is easy as long as you try. The content is pretty simple and some of it you likely already know. Only cons are he will never give you extension/EC/round-ups and his tests sometimes focus on very specific numbers or quotes from class.
Dr. Kiepper made the lectures so interesting!! This was a very easy class, and the tests were straight from the notes and videos. I used Quizlet to study for tests, and some questions were the same ones that were on the test. Make sure to pick good group members for the group project.
Honestly for a culture credit class pretty interesting. Attendance not mandatory but makes it a lot easier if you go. Use Quizlet and you can get an A.
Really fun and interesting class. The tests are LOTS of memorization and can be small details, but very doable. While attendance is not mandatory there are things he say/shows in class not in the PowerPoint, so you need to be there to get all the info to study. He is really kind and great at lecturing.
Go to the lectures! It's that simple. Went to lectures, reviewed Quizlets, and was able to get an A+. His class is interesting and he is clearly passionate about what he teaches. Super light workload. Journals take 10 minutes, quizzes and exams are easy. Poster project is extremely easy no matter your group. Take his class! He's awesome!
AESC 2050 with Dr. Kiepper is a different type of college class, and in a good way. As long as you clearly follow his directions and show up to class it's an easy A. Do not take if you are a slacker or procrastinator, he will not put up with it. Other than that he's a funny guy and I learned a lot of cool stuff in his class.
Took this class to fill a credit, but it has become my favorite class I have taken so far at UGA. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you have to attend to do well. Tests are pretty specific but not difficult if you're engaged. Exams, journals, and quizzes make up your grade, and he will not put up with slackers or excuses. Awesome guy and very funny!
He is an amazing lecturer, and the class is very interesting! Definitely will recommend it to everyone!
Very fun class to take! Dr. Kiepper is fair and a good lecturer. Taking written notes is hard to do because he tends to flip through slides quickly and post slides after class. Overall, this class is pretty easy, and you learn lots.
TAKE HIM!!!!!!! SO NICE!!!!!!! SO FUNNY!!!!!!!! I WANNA SWITCH MY MAJOR TO FORESTRY JUST BECAUSE OF HIM!!!!!!
Go to class if you want to listen to engaging and funny lectures. He does post all of his slides online after each lecture. There is no extra credit so don't miss any assignments because he is a no exceptions prof. Homework is super easy. One group research project but it's not bad. Recommend if you are looking for an easy, low commitment class.
Dr. Kiepper is awesome! I enjoyed all of his lectures. Some test questions can be a bit nitpicky. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed his class.
Take him asap! easy!
Incredible professor and a super easy class. Only journals, quizzes, and 2 exams plus final in person, all very manageable, my lowest exam grade was a 95. Just attend lecture, take notes, and stay engaged. The group project is simple too; meet with your group and prepare. Great class and an even better professor! Can't recommend enough!
I went to every class (except for 1) and studied a good amount and got c's on the tests, this is the lowest grade ive ever gotten in a college class as a junior because the tests feel just like triva questions. I dont know how everyone else is getting A+'s the mc questions are so random and specific, and each lecture seems completely unrelated
Attendance is optional and everything is posted online. He is harsh on due dates and does not allow extra credit however he makes everything very clear when it is due.
too much effort for a basic humanities credit. there is far better and easier ones. teacher teaches based off of videos (literally like 6 per class) and exams have silly/overly specific questions on it.
Dr. Kiepper is a good professor. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it basically is. His posted slideshows don't really help if you miss class, but don't miss class and you'll be fine. There is a big group project at the end of the semester but it is pretty easy. Would take this course again and again
Kiepper is a smoove professor and he is cool to take. Class is not mandatory but if you want an A you better show up
Dr. Kiepper is a great professor if your a student who goes to class, the tests are based both off the slides and the things he says. His lecturers are very interesting which I really enjoyed. There are 3 tests, a poster project, quizzes, and weekly journals. If you put some work in you will get a good grade in the class.
His lectures are pretty engaging. Make sure to take detailed notes because tests are really oddly specific. You have to watch lecture videos and take notes to get a good grade on exams. Old exam keys are online and a lot of the questions are the same so study those. There is one group project and it's super easy.
Some lectures had interesting facts, but most were long, boring and he kept showing videos, like 5 every lecture, but you still had to know specifics about videos and all lectures for tests, even if they were short ads shown or random. All the assignments pretty easy and graded easily, but tests were soooo nitpicky. A bit annoying, not impossible.
Test are ultra specific, use quizlet. great class!
Dr. Kiepper is a very funny and charismatic guy. However, do not be caught off guard by how specific the tests are. The tests cover very specific information, so while attendance is not mandatory, I highly recommend going to all the lectures regardless. The group project at the end of the semester is also pretty easy and not graded too harshly.
