I have taken him for both CJ 405 and purposely took CJ 311 with him bc I enjoyed 405. Great Professor. Hilarous. He is very interesting and has a ton of interesting experience. There is an assignment and a quiz every week, but they dont take much time. Everything is open booknote. Complete your test reviews bc they are on the test verbatim.

He gives you so much work and its not even an SWS class with weekly 600 word Discussion boards, weekly tests, 1000 word journals. There are assignments over breaks and multiple ones over exam weeks. Not to mention that if you don't do his correct APA format you only get 71% on your discussion board. I would look for a different prof if I had to.

Nothing against the professor as a person because he was funny and interesting, but he was literally NO HELP. i'm a good student and cj majorgood student and I have never taken a class with more assignments in my life. the tests are also every couple weeks over 5 chapters with no study guide.

I went to class 3 times in total. In his syllabus he says it isn't an online course but you can totally make it that if you want it to be. He looses respect for you a lot if you don't show up, you can tell by the way he responds to emails, but regardless, I passed the class so that's all that matters.

Nice guy, but literally just talks at you for an hour and fifteen minutes, reading directly off slides. Moves through them very fast and then gives a test over 5 chapters with no study guide. awful class only one I'm doing bad in. Don't take it.

I have had him for several classes b/c I really enjoy the lectures. He has an extensive background in CJ! He is funny, and makes the lectures interesting. The amount of work has varied from each class, but expect a weekly quiz (save your quizzes for the test, they are exactly the same), a DB entry. Sometimes he has period journals. Still- it's easy

Professor Kingshott is extremely knowledgeable in this field and has great stories. However, his lectures can be very boring and he does not tell you after the first day that if you miss a class then 10 points (2%) of your final grade is deducted per class missed. He has certain expectations that he won't change. Read the book.

weekly timed online quizzes, not many tests but again online and timed. If you know the material you'll be good. time is limited to a minute a question. you could get away with not going to class, but he takes points off, so you might pass but definitely not with an A. book not necessary unless you want it. He uploads notes online which is nice

By far the best professor I have ever had. He is extremely interesting, hilarious, and will tell it how it is. He is very caring about students and the people he works with outside of school. He has a cool accent and I look forward to attending each and every class. He also sets up activities where we get to leave the classroom. I highly recommend!

His online journals are graded harshly but if you go to him for help after being graded he bumps you up to the next letter grade for seeking help! Online quiz for each class every Friday, sometimes two. 405 is harder and is treated like a grad class. Key words in the text are crucial. Takes attendance. Know those and seek help and itl be fine!

Honestly, the class can be a bit challenging, confusing, boring, and you probably won't learn much. But if the students in the class come together and help each other out on the assignments then it will end up being a pretty easy class.

He barely lectures, and if he does he says "know this for the exam" but doesnt talk about it. Skips chapters, gets off topic and tells irrelevant stories, openly contradicts the material in the book, has quizzes on material he hasn't lectured on, very misogynistic. Basically a teach yourself course, only good thing is online exams.

lecture, lecture and more lecture. Class sounds really interesting but once you figure out his routine and teaching style you don't want to show up for class. Lectures the whole class and gets off topic really easy. Class can be hard to follow because there are weekly online quizzes. Only good thing about the class was the online tests.

His lectures are long and sometimes repetitive, but he is a good man. He has been around the world conducting counter-terrorism operations for Britain. Cares about his students very much.

BEWARE AT ALL COSTS. Professor Kingshott consistently offers a helping hand only to pull it away (sends class email saying if he can do anything to help) then ignores any email sent by a student. Assignment due dates fluctuate as he pleases. After work one day they changed and I received a few 0's. So I shoot him an email and he ignores it... :/

Everything he gives is online except the lectures. Be sure that when he gives you a journal assignment to turn it in to the journal area even if it is a link to the assignment tab turn it in to the journal tab (copy and paste it). Beware of the dates on the chapter quizzes. He says they're weekly but sometimes you may get 2 or 4 a week.

He is much more concerned about APA formatting than he is about actually having you learn the material. Don't ask him questions unless you want him to belittle you. His version of APA is literally HIS OWN version of APA. Figure it out quick if you want a good grade, however he will probably change it up on you like the weather.

Very knowledgeable on the subject of terrorism and more than qualified to teach this class. However, minor APA errors make your grade plummet and the tests are extremely hard. Some material isn't even in the book. Also very condescending email responses. Overall, rude and poor professor don't take this online class.

I have had Kingshott for all online classes. He is one to get used too. This class was the easiest of the online classes I have taken with him. Tests each week, a paper and 3 exams. The tests are timed for 10 min each and the exams are timed for an hour and 15 minutes. You must know something about the chapter or you will not do well on the tests.

Overall he was a good professor. He makes it very clear that he doesn't want APA errors, and you will get docked hefty points for making errors. Once you figure out what is expected it isn't an issue though. Make sure you actually read the assigned chapters or you won't be able to pass the quizzes.
