Not conventional but very fun class. Gets the students to participate and makes you interested in the subject at hand. Doesn't care about deadlines just wants you to do the work. Readily available if you have any questions and you don't have to be a genius to get an A. Extremely sarcastic and relaxed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Klosa is such an awesome teacher and person the way he teaches is unconventional but he gets through to ya and that is what counts. The man is funny and he knows what he is talking about (though sometimes you wonder) but that is what makes him awesome. He comes highly recommended and highly qualified.

Brian is an awesome instructor- he's very understanding, easy going yet has deadlines. He is really engaging and responds to students discussion posts and gives thorough feedback on assignments,test, and papers. I would highly recommend Brian. Oh, and he has a sense of humor! :)

GREAT class & instructor. Is involved with you and the class from start to finish and you will learn a lot. Gives plenty of time to complete assignments (article readings, discussions, worksheets, response papers and tests), so there should be no reason to not receive a decent grade. Approachable & responsive - Brian is an all-around great guy!

I'm totally in love with public speaking class! In this class you won't get bored and fall asleep. Teacher is really easy to understand, he gives examples and some jokes which are usually helpful. I enjoy his class, every time I feel more confident and I'm really thankful for all the work my teacher does! I really recommend this class!!!

He's pretty funny and great. He might talk over you though, and take off some silly points (which I'm still bitter about). He loves movies and television so talk to him about that. You'll definitely be okay in his class.

Brian is hilarious and a great person. He's very helpful and very clear on what he wants from you. He will also make many jokes about "slipping him a 20 for an A" hahaha. This class is also very interesting to learn about, and he does a great job at teaching it.

I took this class online, and it was probably the easiest online class I have taken so far. Everything is laid out clearly and he properly tells you what he expects out of assignments. He is quick to answer emails if you have any questions. I recommend this professor for this class!

I took Klosa's course over the summer and although it sucked that it was over the summer, I truly looked forward to going to class. We were assigned quite a few speeches, but they weren't very difficult to complete. Klosa genuinely cares about his students and he wants to see everyone strive. He'll do the best that he can to ensure that happens.

Brian is a great professor. He is very good at teaching public speaking. He's fun and entertaining. He focuses on making you comfortable speaking in class and keeps in exciting. Speeches are easy of you follow the structure taught in the PowerPoints. In class exercises are worth a fair amount of points, so just go and do it. Best class I've taken.

Funniest teacher ever; makes public speaking non-stressful; likes doing trivia and other activities; says he's going to pick on everyone by the end of the course, but never really fully accomplishes that goal.

You get a ton of time to complete the assignments you're given, and they all come with clear instructions on what you're supposed to do. We didn't even read the entirety of the books that were assigned, we just picked one chapter out of each book to reflect upon. He also offered a lot of opportunities for extra credit, which was really nice.

He is a very good teacher, as far as getting you comfortable with speaking up in front of people. Very easy class. He gives extra credit just for coming to class which is helpful boost your grade. There really aren't too many speeches, and you can make them your own so it's not as boring to do.

By far my favorite class ever at Normandale. Klosa is amazing. He is super funny, there were so many opportunities for extra credit. We literally got extra credit opportunities every week. If you miss class, then you miss points. But you won't want to miss class, TRUST ME. There are a few papers, but they are personal responses. Just pay attention.

He's an amazing professor but we didn't do like anything so if you want an easy A, take his class. He wants a lower rating on this site because he doesn't want to have the pressure of a 4.9 rating. But really he said it's a study hall and a place to take it easy. We never took a test or quiz just a few easy assignments.

He made a relaxed environment in the class and is super funny. Didn't have homework other than preparing for the speeches, which he gives plenty of time for you to complete. He wrote plenty of useful feedback on each speech, which helped me improve.

He gives feedback that is short and to the point. He is clear about what he asks for and gives you a lot of options when it comes to assignments.

Brian is hilarious. His lectures keep you engaged and interested. I took his intercultural communications class and even though we had to talk about some very sensitive and maybe uncomfortable topics, he made it fun. Literally love going to his class because not only is it fun and entertaining, but you actually learn about interesting topics.

I had him for Nonverbal communication. Klosa was easy to get along with during class. He kept his lectures on the lighter side and kept us entertained throughout the course. He was easy to speak to and cared about the students in his classes. He was easy to get a hold of outside of class too. Definitely recommend.

Easily a professor who finds fun in his job and what he does. I took him last year in Spring and he was absolutely witty and had a strong sense of humor to boot, and attending his classes is like going to a stand-up comedian who's very self-aware about the world and issues. If assignment's not clear, you ask, he answers - that's good communication.

This is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. He uses the beginning of class to make sure everyone is comfortable and everyone knows each other which makes speeches a lot easier to give.

Great guy, the type of learning that takes place in Klosa's classes is the best type of learning. He encourages you to collab and speak with others, opens your mind up and lets you be creative. Also he is too funny- never wanted to miss a class. He wants bad ratings on here but I just couldn't! :-)

Klosa is really odd... his humor is very dry and he likes to mention mildly inappropriate things trying to say its the new fad. I guess old people just dont understand that the older you get the less cool it is to talk about nudity with 17 year olds in the room. Overall hes a good guy other than that.

Professor Klosa is the best professor I have ever had. He makes his class so well organized that I would argue that the only way you could fail is by not turning things in during the (typical) 1 month due date. He gives great feedback that will keep you motivated and he was accommodating when I had to take some time off for a broken hip this fall.

Amazing teacher. 11/10. Easy A if you stay on track and on top of assignments. I could finish most of the weekly work within a day if I needed to. I would not recommend that but it can be done. Took this during the summer and was super easy to balance between class and life.

I thoroughly enjoyed COMM1111! His class was very dynamic and the material was actually fun to read. He has set the tone of his class to be a fun, expressive. -As communication should be. Some activities are easy grades (take the love language quiz) and others more detailed (essay). He requires the textbook and lectures to be read for assignments.

I took his class this summer semester and it was really good. You're supposed to do a unit a week and there are activities, assignments, tests and they are pretty easy if you keep up with the work. He gives nice feedback and extra credit for each unit. I would love to take him over and over again. An easy A and hilarious guy.

Pleasantly pleased with Brian and his class. Not only was he super helpful with feedback, but he was clear and concise on grading and lectures. If you do the work he gives you all the answers. Paper/review heavy but I expected this. Manageable workload if you're an organzied person. Honestly, I would've loved to take this class in person!

Best. Professor. Ever. He was super easygoing and let me turn in a whole unit after it was, despite the syllabus saying deadlines were final. This class was so easy and it really felt like fun learning because Brian found interesting sources instead of the textbook being the only source of education. There are so many fun quizzes and assignments.

This was a very simple and straightforward class. I took the class a year ago, I don't remember much about it other than doing reflections from the book readings and reading articles and doing discussions. He grades in a timely manner. I only spoke to him through email a couple times, he seems like a nice guy. Sometimes really interesting material.

I took a mass media class just to get another 3 credit class and really enjoyed it. Brian made this class extremely fun and interesting. Attendance is required but you get easy points by participating in fun activities. As long as you show up and turn assignments in you should get an A.

Take this class! Just finished summer semester and it was a perfect balance between work and life. Assignments are due every Sunday, which gave plenty of time. He gives detailed feedback right away, and puts grades in right away. I loved this class. Everything is organized and made clear of what the semester looks like.

This was my favorite class this semester. His grading is very reasonable and his course format is easy to navigate. There are about 7 assignments plus a discussion post & a test due every month or so, So this gives you lots of time to complete assignments at your own pace. Overall his class is very easy and I would totally take this class again.

You can do almost all of the assignments at your own pace, as long as you turn them in by the Module deadline. The work is fairly simple but you just need time to do it. He was very clear on what he wanted from each assignment and was available if you had questions. He also gives detailed feedback on every assignment!

Professor Klosa made a boring class into a fun class! I loved all the homework assignments and projects. We did have to do one public speaking project, but you got to choose the topic and could do it with a partner. Assignments were always easy. I still reflect back on what I learned in this class, it was very informative.:)

Best professor I had, I recommend this class for those majoring in communications. Instructions were very clear on the assignment. Oftentimes it was just expressing your thoughts.

Online class - Mass Media. I was nervous taking an accelerated 5-week summer course but it was a breeze. Got my grades in a timely manner. Lots of reading and all quizzes are open book- very easy to get an A. A lot of the homework is reading articles and writing papers, and also discussions with peers on the online forum. Great professor too! EASY

He was a great professor. The class was online, and he set it up, so each unit was about three weeks. Typically, you have those three weeks to turn in about 10 assignments. Very manageable if you don't procrastinate. If you need the credit this class is easy, be ready to read and write.

He's very understanding of your circumstances. He opens up a unit for about 3 weeks and during that time there's like five or so assignments and a unit test. I've been able to complete the whole unit in a day for nearly all the units. There is textbook reading but it is interesting, long. His tests are a little tricky if you think too hard.

We have Units that last about three weeks and you have to get all the assignments and the tests done by the last day, its about 4 assignments, 1 extra credit option and one test. Very easy to do, I usually took about two days to finish the unit. Not time consuming at all. Take this class if you need an interpersonal communication class!

Very good setup. Assigns homework and lets you work your own schedule giving reasonable due dates. If you read the power points you will pass all exams. Assignments do require a bit of reading but are very tolerable. He is also flexible if you need homework ahead of time or need an extension. Overall very good professor.

This class was very easy, if you need a communications class I really recommend it. Since it was online I did not communicate with him much but he was a easy grader. You have about 4-5 assignments every 3 weeks that took about 10 mins-1 hr each. Overall great class and amazing professor!

He's one of the coolest teachers ever and his rating on here proves that. I appreciate his patience and willingness to help student succeed. He can still be critical and analytical but he overall want the bets for his students. He helped me achieve my GPA goal!!! He also bring up deep topics and really makes you think deeply.

Mr. Klosa was a very fun teacher. I definitely recommend his class. He makes his lectures entertaining. The class is divided into units. Each unit has a handful of assignments to do and is due every three or four weeks.

He is the best professor. If you received an F, that is your issue.

Online class is very well-organized with lots of simple, informal writing response type assignments that are often quite fun to do. Huge recommend if you need a communication credit.

Easily one of the best professors I have ever had. I am taking another communications class by him next semester purely because of the amazing teacher he is. Cared so much and wanted to get to know each and every one of his students. Clear outline for the week and I enjoyed how organized he was and how he gave comments on every single assignment.

He was my first college professor and he was great! Not a tough grader at all he gave full points pretty much for just participating and doing the assignment. There were no annoying group discussion posts that we had to do which was nice. He was very realistic when it came to assigning work. Highly recommend him :)
