He is an excellent teacher. Comparative politics became something completely different for me. I highly reccomend him, he has the best lectures and the lectures become awesome discussions. He is very neutral on his opinions, so it's not one sided. Take him! He's awesome!

Hes a good professor, and his classes are fairly interesting. We spent most of the class doing group discussion, but this tends to side track his lecture material. the only time you rwally need the book is to help fill out the study guide. The tests are fairly easy, but theres only 2 so dont mess up. I would recommend taking him.

His class was so easy! There's only 2 tests and a final, but they're so easy as long as you do the study guide you should make an A. Definitely take him!

If you don't like political science like myself this would be the teacher to take. He makes it fun and interesting. The text book is required and he lectures from it. We had two test and a final. I failed the first test but still passed the class with a B (88) He is the best. I highly recommend him.

Professor Kupfer is awesome. He is flexible with the way class time is spent and allows class discussion on current political issues. He has a quirky sense of humor which makes the class a lot of fun. He assigns a big essay, but you have the entire semester to do it. I do not like politics, but he definitely kept my interest. Dr. Kupfer is by far the coolest teacher I have ever had. He is very helpful, gives great study guides, and has laid back classes. You don't have to attend his class, but it is worth going to listen to the political debates that he refuses to put too much opinion into. His passion for politics is one of the things that make him so attractive!

Dr. Kupfer expects you to read the chapters. The book is boring but what can you do? The slides are helpful for examples of the vocab, but the book contains the vocab needed. Class discussion is big, not not a part of the grade. Current affairs are always a topic. All around nice guy and gives additional assignments from the tests for more grades.

I barely went to class,used his study guide and got A's on all the tests. I would of loved him if I didn't already know the material from National Government.

Took him for State and Local Government over fall. We had strictly essays for the tests, which could be good or bad. He didn't really go over what would be on the test as much as he should have, but class was always interesting. Material was easy enough to teach yourself. Makes you read a lot of articles, but if you don't mind, definitely take him.

Dr. Kupfer is awesome. Very interesting class but has a lot of writing. All the questions are essay questions AND a 4-7 page term paper since he wants his students to learn the subject! You will get an A if you pay attention and listen to what he says. Do not procrastinate.

BK is AWESOME! Very entertaining class, NO TEXTBOOK! Just read & keep up with the articles and you should be fine for tests. 2 tests total, 1 final and 1 group project which you don't have to present to the class (yes!) This guy is pretty much the best teacher ever, he's really interested in what he's teaching and presents meaningful applications to the material. All tests are essays which he gives the prompts to you before hand. Really understanding to the lives of students and helps in whatever way he can academic wise. Really great guy!

He is a cool laid back teacher that talks and wants interaction from the class. Tests are all essays but easy if you take good notes doesn't mind answering questions not giving answers you must do that he will help guide you along the right path. Mr. Kupfer, Is a cool laid back guy. He's very nice and doesn't mind if you visit him in his office hours. As long as you complete all the assignments and study for the test(with the study guide he gives) You'll be fine. The Study guide is word for word whats on the test. There are only 2 exams in this class. I'd recommend him to anyone!

He is easily one of the best teachers at TCC. He is passionate about what he does and makes everyone else interested! And the person that wrote the videos have nothing to do with the class clearly don't know what class they're in. It's comparative politics, it's constantly evolving. HE IS AWESOME. Pay attention and won't need much of the textbook.

Whether politics is your forte or not, Kupfer will suit you well. He'll go in depth as possible while also relating to the more apathetic students. Great guy, consistent and fair professor. I will second what another commenter said; he was definitely born to do this.

This class was great-but only because the teacher made it that way! He’s funny and knows his stuff and if he doesn’t he tells you so. The tests are all essay questions but if you practice the study guide you will do great! There is a paper-you get to choose the topic but it has to be related to the class somehow. Advise=Take It!

Prof Kupfer does a great job getting students engaged in his class. I took his PoliSci class when I was in the Military in California. He does a great job of presenting both sides of arguments and letting students form their own oppinions based off the topics. Ask him about smurf-topia.

If you are looking at this class, this is the teacher for you! Explains everything throughly. Great guy and charismatic. Class is never boring. Only grades are 3 quizzes, 4 articles, the final and a term paper. He gives a review before each quiz and final thats exactly like the test. All tests and quizzes are essay questions.

Dr K is awesome, one of TCC's best. He makes the course very interesting with diff' assignments, his test study guides very helpful. He responds back quickly by email and phone. I would definitely recommend his class, you will gain a whole new perspective in keeping up with your own State's Local Gov.

Overall Kupfer is a great professor. Attending class is required to receive participation points. He mainly lectures and does really like people to join in on discussion. He is super friendly and is always open to helping students. I would recommend taking him! Just put in the work and you will get a fair grade if you go to class and do the work

I took National Government class with Dr. Kupfer and loved it. He's brilliant and goofy. He makes learning about government interesting and encourages discussion on related topics such as current events. The class was largely based on our textbook. There were a lot of quizzes, but it was easy to do well as long as I did the readings. He was very clear about his expectations and prepared students well. I'd definitely recommend taking his class!

This is such an easy course! There is a weekly quiz and video (with discussion board). Final exam was 5 essay questions that he gives you a week before. There is NO reason for not passing this class!

Took him for the Global Perspectives class that is only offered in the Spring term. He was great! The class mostly consisted out of writing papers and in-class discussions/debates about issues that we would normally not think about. If you are considering taking IDS2311 then take Brian Kupfer! Easy A if you do all the work you are supposed to do!

He is a very late grader and you won't see exam grades for weeks but overall an ok class. He did help me out with a few deadlines & he grades really easy. If you take him online I really suggest reading the books it will help you in the long run, skimming didn't really do much for me (learning wise) Take him online EASY

AMAZING TEACHER! This was my first politics class I've ever taken and Dr. Kupfer made it a great experience! Everything was presented with such enthusiasm and he made the class so interesting. Very easy to get an A if you do the research paper, and the final was a piece of cake. I am actually going to miss him and this class!

I took his Comparative Politics class online and it was super easy. Very clear grading criteria, you just have a video to watch every week along with a discussion board response and a quiz. Some of the videos are actually really interesting. I wish he would've responded to my e-mails and questions more. But other than that, easy A.

Easy A, showed up to class every time, he uses slides which are on blackboard, no real need for notes (can use laptop), he stopped using slides after spring break so no one was writing notes anyway. Likes to joke here and there.

Only two tests, midterm and final. Weekly quiz and discussion board. You only have one chance at the quiz. The DBs are the most interesting, you watch a video and comment on it. Automatic 100. One project that isn't hard at all. Very straight forward class and organized class.

I loved his online class 3!! We would watch a video, once a week then post a discussion on it. The videos were actually interesting and I felt I was truly learning about the world, instead of just memorizing textbook definitions. We had a weekly quiz, wrote a paper on a country, and took the final. The final was multiple choice and a (long) essay.

I took Dr. Kupfer's class online and it was great! There was a video and quiz every week which most of the videos were interesting and the quizzes were pretty easy. I would definitely take him again!

Mr. Kupfer is a good online politics teacher. He clearly lists the requirements for the assignments and discussion board posts. Online there is a video you have to watch each week and write about it. There is also a weekly quiz and a big country project at the end of year. The videos we watched were quite interesting and I enjoyed taking this class

Awesome class with ample opportunity to get an A. Watch a interesting video each week, post a summary of it on a discussion board, and a 10 question untimed quiz on that weeks reading, usually 1 or 2 chapters a week. Some weeks we watched Frontline episodes, other weeks Ted talks, very interesting videos and conversation.

Took his class this summer and pass it. Easy class. All you have is 10 untimed pop quizzes on canvas, research paper, and the final exam. I RECOMMEND ANYONE TO TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!! iT CANT GET NO BETTER THAN THIS!!!!

Took the Global Perspectives class. Loved it, best class i've taken, really liked it.

I took his CPO Class and rarely showed up and did well. He has open book quizzes every week online so you don't even have to read the book until the midterm, and final which is written and not that hard at all .The hardest thing is probably the Research paper (4 pages minimum) which isn't that hard at all because he gives you an easy topic.

I would definetley recommend CPO2001. Easy Class!! I took it online during the fall semester and passed with a 97/A. It was not hard at all. I loved for the midterm and final he gives you the questions ahead of time so you can study and they were the same questions on the test. TAKE THIS CLASS!!! BY FAR THE BEST CLASS EVER!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

While Brian expects professional communications, his reply was repeatedly relaxed. The course was built on demand and attempted to adhere to the syllabus, however the course was somewhat improvisation. Do assignments, interact with discussions, research topics assigned, compose thoughts and take the note-free for exams... You will learn & pass!

You will either ace or fail this class. World Order (Kissinger) was less accessible to those without a history background, but the essay quizzes assessed whether you read and thought about the texts, rather than your actual understanding of them. Discussions were repeatedly derailed by people who didn't read or simply lacked prerequisite knowledge.

Dr. Kupfer is a highly educated and very impassioned man when it comes to politics. He is very funny, incredibly forgiving, and overall a caring professor. Excellent for Global Perspectives, and I'm already registered for his Comparative Politics class in the fall.

I respect Dr. Kupfer for his calm, professional, and unbiased responses on sensitive topics. There are frequent open discussions in his class, some of which get a bit heated, but he always keeps the classroom under control and plays the devils advocate for any and all opinions/topics. Lots of papers to write, but put the effort in and you will pass

Paper heavy but doable. You had a discussion and paper due every two weeks and a paper due at the end of the semester. The final were short answer questions. My ONLY complaint is that he takes forever to grade anything. It's the day before grades are finalized and he still hasn't graded discussions from several weeks to months ago. Easy class!

I just wrote a review about being upset about my grade change. The issue is being fixed and now I can go back to saying I LOVE THIS CLASS.

Professor Kupfer is efficient when responding and is very specific about his requirements. The Pacing schedule is exactly on time so there is absolutely no confusion. There is a lot of reading required but not impossible. Time is required. What YOU put in is what YOU get out. The textbook is amazing and hilarious. Highly recommended.

I was a little nervous taking this class because I did not know what to expect. Professor Kupfer works with you as long as you do your part. Do your assignments and you will be fine.

This was my first online class and it was so easy most of his quizzes are on quizlet and you just have to do disccussion boards minimum of 500 words and thats most it beside doing 1,000 word paper but its very easy class

2nd time I took this prof and I would say def take the in person class if you want your assignments graded in a timely manner. It is finals week and he hasn't graded assignments in over a month, so there is no way to predict your grade which is stressful. His class is easy but he may have too many classes or some reason why he cant give feedback.

Okay so like, he was great and all. I really liked the class. But like, do I really have to read the syllabus and book and stuff? Come on this isnt the 80s. But like, it was a good class and I learned a lot and stuff, but like, he could have given me a better grade but whatever.

Very respectable kind teacher. Go to class because there are mini essays each week in class, and two of them are for extra credit. Dont freak out over the mini essays or assignments, pretty much everything is participation. I'm not the best writer and suck at politics, but I got a 100% on every assignment. Quiz and tests are all from quizlet.

Super genuine gut that's really nice. He says clearly what he's expecting for every assignment. His whole class does consist of lecture but they're generally vary interesting.

Only two papers which are interesting. The discussions are informational and current you learn more about what is currently going on. Very lenient with course work gives a week to complete any assigned work.

This was my 3rd class with him and i wish i could take more. His class is super easy, most are a few discussions and quizzes, a few short papers and a final. Grades super generously and he will always respect your opinion. Beware he is one of those professors that takes forever to grade things, but trust me hes worth it.

I really liked this class. The lectures are interesting and actually applicable to current events in politics, and are very discussion-based. You will pass if you try, he's not a hard grader. You might want the textbook if you dont know too much about politics, but if you're already a pretty political person you probably won't need it.

I took his online class (not zoom) and it was honestly very easy. I've taken two courses with him and he's been one of my favorite professors. He's not a tough grader and you can definitely pass his class without reading the textbook. I found it online as a pdf.

Dr. Kupfer was very understanding about my health issues and responded when I reached out, though it did take a few days so don't wait until the last minute if you have questions. He makes his discussions/quizzes interesting and relevant so they're actually fun to participate in, and it's really easy to get a good grade as long as you at least try.

At the end of the semester, he put in 100 percent for all my leftover ungraded assignments. The essays were very easy, as long as you expressed your opinion and did some research. A very fun and enjoyable learning experience and would highly recommend taking his course.

Professor Kupfer was great this year, I'm taking another class he's teaching next semester. He gives relative information from various news outlets which were very interesting to read about. The quizzes and tests were not difficult, just make sure you do the readings and study guides so you're prepared.

LOVED Professor Kupfer! You definitely have to put the work in to pass, but he makes the class extremely enjoyable! I usually do not enjoy discussing politics, but it was so easy to do because he DOES NOT mock you for whatever your views are! There is a lot of homework, and LONG discussion boards, and several papers, so be ready to work.

I took the hybrid global perspectives class with him and it was easily the best class i've taken at tcc. I learned a lot. We had lots of fun. No book, just articles that you can pick if you want to discuss in class or online. If you need an elective or if youre a poly sci or international affairs major, don't miss this class.

Overall great professor. Lots of writing with the discussion posts, essays, and short answer prompts. Final assignment was very straightforward and easy. I emailed him about a missing assignment and he opened all assignments back up at the end of the semester for 60% of the credit. Would take him again!

As someone who usually struggled with and disliked history, I found myself genuinely looking forward to his classes every week! You only have two assignments every two weeks and a mini quiz every class.

Professor Kupfer's class is engaging and rewarding. The discussions and essays are thought-provoking, and the assignments are manageable if you stay on top of the work. I found Unstuck study really helpful for studying and preparing for tests.

I took Professor Kupfer online, but I wish I got to meet him in person. Great professor with great class material. There is an online textbook but you hardly need to read it to get it good grade. He's a very light grader giving 100 on everything as long as you follow the instructions which are clearly laid out. Problem is, he takes a while grading.

I was in an express class, so I got a lot of work. His work was easy for me, but usually took a bit longer. I'd recommend this teacher!

Professor Kupfer was so amazing I'm taking him again next semester. One 4-question multiple-choice quiz and a 200-300 word "essay" about a video every 2 weeks, and one article to read and write about every week in class. He gives study guides that are extremely helpful. He's amazing at lecturing and likes to have open discussions with the class.
