Very hard material to learn but he does LOVE to teach and does a good job of it.

Dr. Love is nice as can be. He makes cheesy jokes in class that you will remember forever. (Why Daddy Why?) Too bad organic is hard as hell no matter who is teaching it. He does a pretty good job of teaching it and is very fair with grading.

Dr. Love is a great teacher. Organic chem is hard anyways, but he makes funny jokes in class. You still have to study. Very helpful, go see him during office hours.

Wonderful Organic Chemistry teacher! Very helpful and always answers your questions so everything's clear. Has funny analogies about every subject that really help with memorization. Face it, 2750 is tough, so it's not going to be an easy A, but Dr. Love makes it better !! Take it with him !!!!!

I have learned so much in this lab from Dr. Love. He is very challenging but the quizzes are straight from the notes, but he does not help on write ups. He grades everything on a bell curve which helps me out! YAY! I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Love is the best teacher I have ever had! He is extremely helpful and will answer any questions without making you feel stupid. His tests are hard, but if you study, you will do well. Study EVERY DAY!! Definitley take him!

Love is a great teacher, explains things well and will answer any questions u have...he has q/a sessions before every test; on dowside does give pop quizzes; but does do a curve! Hard material, not the easiest tests or quizzes either...but he's good!!

I had Love for Organic II. Material is hard if you don't remember 2750 or keep up. Makes helfpul and funny analogies, but if I hear "Recall from days gone by..." one more time, I will go over a cliff! He gives pop quizzes (after each chapter), but he tells you what to omit and there is a curve. Pay attention in class, do homework, and study.

It's a very HARD class, but Dr. Love tries his best to help you out (esp. with the "duck"). Attendence isnt madatory but its best to go every day and study every day, he likes to give pop quizes. And make sure you study the handouts he gives, esp the ones with reactions (they usally show up on the test)

This class is easy. A lot of my classmates think he is really hard because the tests are hard but they are not. If you read the book and memorize the reactions you will do fine. He puts 2 mechanisms and a 2 short essays on the test that cover from his lectures directly but you will still understand it from the book. Along with dr allen, funnygu

Take this course with Dr. Love and you are sure to actually LEARN organic chemistry. Dr. Love keeps things light and fun. Watch out for pop quizzes. He gives plenty of hints. Tests are difficult, but doable if you study, study, study. Great guy! Personality makes him hot! I wish I could take him for every chemistry course.

This class was so hard, but Prof Love made it as clear and easy as he possibly could. No attendance policy. No assigned homework. But class was so enjoyable! Tests were really hard. I worked my butt off and got a C and am so proud of it! It was a great class though, and would definitely recommend Dr Love.

Dr. Love was awesome! He is extremely helpful...willing to work with you until you understand the material. Very nice guy. Gives pop quizzes so you want to go to class. But organic is a very hard class, so going will definitely help! Take him if you can!

Makes the subject extremely general. Uses analogies to give insight into molecular behaviors ("dopey" analogies). If the average is low then he adjusts his grading scale. The homework is optional but you should do it anyway. If you like challenges then you'll love the E.C. questions on the exams. Dr. Love's a great prof and even better scientist.

Love is AWESOME! Orgo is no easy A, so go to class and study- before the night before. Gives pop quizes but they help you prepare for tests if you study for them in advance. If you don't understand something, go to his office and he will help you. I loved 1-on-1 time with love. He is overall a great guy and truly cares about his students. Take him!

Great instructor! He really knows his stuff and is easy to work with. He's a funny guy and uses a lot of goofy analogies to help get the point across. However, his tests are hard and the material is not easy. I am taking Love for orgo 2.

Dr Love is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He explains concepts in ways to make them easier to understand. That said, his tests are HARD. Grades are curved so getting an A is possible.

Dr Love is awesome. His test can be a little tough, but if you study by reviewing your notes and quizzes you will do just fine. Uses many quirky analogies that really stick with you and help you remembers terminal that otherwise may be hard. Anybody that gives him low ratings is probably using him as a scapegoat for their unwillingness to work. He is very helpful and a lot of the times he is in his office even when it is not his posted office hours. IFYOU WANT TO LEARN TAKE HIM.

This was my second semester with Dr. Love. As in the first half of the course his tests are not easy and he will make you think. He does give partial credit on tests and quizzes. Not an easy subject so you will need to study hard . He is very helpful outside of class. I really liked his teaching style.

Loved his teaching style and personality. One of my favorite teachers for sure. He is extremely helpful outside of class, and he cares a lot about his students. However, he is very hard, and he gives pop quizzes. He does curve grades though (usually an 80 is an A in the course). With that being said, I would still definitely take him again.

He is great professor, one of the best knowledgeable organic chemistry professors at ECU!! His lectures are clear, and he gives good feedback and will take time to answer all of your concerns. He does give pop quizzes, and his exams can be challenging. I highly advise going to his office and study every night to do well! Hard work pays off!

Dr. Love is a great proffesor! He tries to make the subject as understandable as possible with a lot of "dopey analogies." I would definitely take him again and recommend him to anyone as long as you are willing to put in the work that organic requires. There are 3 tests at least 7 pop quizzes and a final, and then at the end he curves.

Dr. Love is a great teacher who teaches every Pre-Med's biggest fear since the discovery of carbon.... ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. Test are really difficult so study hard! Read the textbook, but pay attention in class and write everything down! Grades are based off of class rank. Good luck!

Dr. Love is a great professor, but his grading style is based on how your colleagues do, so if you have really smart people in your class, you are screwed. Our class had a guy and a foreign exchange girl who did exceptionally great so the rest of us were screwed. He gave less than 7 people an A.

People who take dr. love for organic 2 generally are more prepared for organic 2 because he goes in depth and prepares you really well. No mastering chemistry required and book is honestly useless. MCAT organic questions are way easier than his tests but his tests are fair game. He will only test you on material covered in class.

I had Dr. Love for Orgo 1 lab. I loved having this guy as a professor. His tests are not the easiest but he's an awesome guy, albeit a little geeky! He has a great personality and his ability to impart chemistry knowledge is unparalleled.

I absolutely loved Dr. Love. He definitely is a bit strange, but in the most helpful sort of way. He was always able to relate such a hard topic like organic chem to real life, and thats why I did so well in the class. Hes extremely helpful outside of class in office hours, I read the textbook thoroughly along with his notes, and I got an A.

I had Dr. Love for Organic 1, his lectures were always informative and easy to follow with many examples and analogies to real life so you could learn a lot each class. His tests are difficult but he only tests on things he has said in class so they are definitely doable. Dr. Love is extremely helpful outside of class and cares about his students.

Dr. Love is a very nice and intelligent proffesor. He really wants to help his students and is always open to questions during class. His notes can be confusing, but if you follow along with the topics in the textbook, itll definitely help you. His tests are not multiple choice, so they tend to be pretty hard, but he curves the grades a lot.

Dr. Love is teaching ORGANIC chemistry, which is going to be hard no matter the teacher. He understands that the material is difficult and helps students out tremendously. He will spend all of his office hours helping you understand concepts and even gives a HUGE CURVE! In the end, a D- ended up being a C+, which is a big help! 8/10 recommend.

Dr Love is an amazing professor and ECU is lucky to have him. Organic chem is difficult no matter the teacher but in comparison to most of ECU orgo chem professor's he's amazing. He breaks stuff down really well and he is not condescending like most teachers. If I had to take the course again it would be with him 100%

ECU is lucky to have Dr Love. I never had him for Orgo but I approached him a few times when I had orgo questions and he explained concepts straight into the long term memory. Most teachers get annoyed when you approach them outside office hours but Dr Love was always welcoming & happy to help. Truly truly amazing professor.

Awesome! Really kind and his love for chemistry flows into his lectures. Always provides dopey analogies that break down hard concepts into funny understandable real life situations. First chem I take, I did well in, largely because of Love's teaching but also a whole lotta tutoring. Exams are a bit difficult but everything comes from the notes!

Mr. Love is an amazing teacher; no matter what teacher you have Organic Chemistry is a hard class but he tries to make it fun and interesting with his "Doppy Analogies". He helps everyone in anyway to pass the class. If you don't study you will not pass and the test are difficult but if you study and ask for his help you will pass.

He is really nice but his test are hard its no multiple choice you also cant use notes , the way he teaches is so confusing I would definitely suggest finding a new teacher. He does curve grades but it depends on how bad the class did, I dont really understand how he curves grades. I ended up withdrawing and changing my major one week later

Brian is a great guy and is really good at explaining things. Organic is not easy, but if you try hard you will definitely pass. I completely bombed the last exam and still ended up with a B+! The worst test grade is dropped, and all the optional quizzes that can be done with others (on BB) counts as a test grade. He curves grades based at the end.

Dr. Love is an amazing teacher and really tries to break the material down for you, but you have to make sure you go to class and try. There is so much information to learn in such a short time. His test are difficult, but never anything he didn't cover in class. Study and never get behind and you will be fine. His curves are nice too.

In his lectures he explains at an elementary level but you need to do his practice sets and textbook problems because the exams are advanced (but nothing unexpected). Attendance is not counted but it is necessary. He drops lowest exam grade or overall quiz score and curves the class. PASC does GREAT test reviews that are helpful as well.

Love is an amazing professor. if you have to take organic, take it with him. the more effort you put in the better. take advantage of the worksheets he give out, smartwork, etc.

Dr. Love is passionate about teaching. He grades fairly and provides plenty of study materials. He wants you to understand and is available in and out of class.

Professor Love really is the best organic teacher. The only reason I got the grade I did was because I dozed off in class and often skipped, but it's impressive I even passed. This is a tough subject to teach, but he taught it well an understood we were all struggling.

Super great lab professor, haven't had him for lecture. Cares a lot about the students and will do everything possible to help us. Sends weekly emails which helps some students stay on task which is nice. Definitely would recommend!

Amazing orgo professor. Orgo is a difficult subject to grasp but he explains it so well and will always help in detail with examples if you ask, but YOU as a student need to put in a lot of work outside of class by doing practice problems and reviewing the textbook (very helpful). Grades are comprised of exams and quizzes only but he does curve.

TAKE HIM. truly my favorite teacher almost ever including grade school. will answer any questions you have very clearly, very accessible outside of class and honestly just a really nice guy. He is very fun to be around and I truly adore him. amazing energy. also curves and gives partial credit on exams!! Dr. Love if you are reading this I love you.

Dr. Love relates concepts to everyday phrases or things, making them easy to understand. Attending class is very important, as concepts build quickly and he tends not to repeat things. Pretty funny and cares about his students!

My favorite professor at ECU so far. He is genuinely so sweet I wish he was my grandpa. I went to office hours all the time and he explained everything so well. Take him if you can. Orgo is hard but it will be harder if you don't take him. You can tell he loves teaching and his students.

Dr. Love is a very compassionate professor, you are able to tell he has a passion for chemistry. I took him for OChem I and II and I am very glad I did. Although, his course may be challenging he always sees you as an individual rather than a student, helping you in anyway he can!

Professor Love is an awesome person, lecturer, and teacher. Willing to help you if you have a question about anything. lecture heavy. hopefully you have a good classmate who will share their notes with you. make sure YOU understand. don't worry about degrading yourself to help another, if they just want answers for the quiz and tests.
