Straight forward class. Weekly journals and 3 papers single spaced. Submit things on time and you will be fine. No midterm and 1 paper for final.

Brian Maj has to be one of my favorite teachers I've ever taken, and I don't say that lightly. He's extremely intelligent, down to earth, nice, and is just a fun person to have a conversation with. If you don't understand a grade he gave you, you can sit down with him and he'll go into it in depth, and allow you to revise it. Great teacher and guy.

Mr. Maj is the best professor I've had, granted I'm a freshman. He goes above and beyond and shows that he really cares about your success. He is always willing to help and will give you extensions as long as you communicate your problems with him. Aside from becoming a better writer from this class, he taught me how to become a successful student.

Amazing professor! He actually cares about you but not only that, his class is easy in general. Although there are papers every week, they are simple papers that don't takes only a little over an hour to finish. His lectures however are boring and you may feel like you just want to skip class but it's better to stay as attendance is a key grade.

My favorite professor at DePaul so far. His class goes far beyond writing, I learned so much about life and how to interpret knowledge. There are weekly writing assignments, but they are simple and approachable. If you miss class, you have to write a one page response, but you probably won't want to miss class because his lectures are so engaging.

Brian Maj was a gem. I took a Star Trek class with him during COVID-19 for some unknown reason. I didn't like Star Trek, but he made the class entertaining and interesting with his humor and discussions. He was also very helpful outside of class with questions in regard to college classes, financial aid, and what will happen to DePaul during covid

Great guy. Took him for WRD 103 as well. Literally one of the sweetest people I've ever had the privilege of getting to know. Brian is one of those profs who you can easily talk to about things going on in your life. I talk to him often about my depression; he always has great advice. Incredibly intelligent, the biggest heart, huge nerd, fun. 11/10

Mr Maj is an amazing professor. There isn't much else to say but I took his course during my first quarter and this is the guy you want to introduce you to depaul. He makes the class feel casual. He gives genuine feedback on homework, and as long as you read the articles, homework is not hard. Take this class, or choose Maj as a professor. 10/10

Good professors are common but great Professors are truly rare. Professor Maj is the latter. He is one of the most knowledgeable people I know and truly is a prime example of what you would want in a Professor. He fantastically curates a class experience like no other and is insanely generous with his time. He truly has a gift for teaching.

Professor Maj is absolutely incredible! I have hated English my whole life and he managed to make the class interesting and fun. He is extremely smart on all sorts of topics and is an amazing lecturer. I took his class online sync and he made online learning super enjoyable. There's not a lot of outside classwork and he is a pretty easy grader.

I initially signed up for this class to fulfill a requirement, but it has genuinely been the most fulfilling class I have ever taken. He is truly a gifted teacher, and a one-of-a-kind individual. Professor Maj is a very down to earth and thoughtful professor and is also very knowledgable about the business school and DePaul in general if you ever have any questions or just need life advice. I took him for Discover Chicago and we had company visits every week which was really unique, though there was a fair amount of homework each week.

There isn't much you can say bad about Professor Maj. He's an amazing teacher providing insightful lectures and allowing for students to lead in-class discussions. Class structure consists of company visits and in-class analysis afterwards. He's a fantastic professor to have as a freshman as he is a great source of advice and wisdom. 10/10!

Brian was a very chill and fun teacher. He was a great professor, but the content in BUS 101 made me dread the class every week. His only flaw was how fast he moved through powerpoints because some of the content "wasn't important," even though they were for the quizzes.

Such a great class! We visited many companies and got to interact with them. Assignments are straightforward and teach you to think critically. Professor poses great rhetorical questions that get you thinking. He cares about students' well-being and encourages them to connect what we learned to the real world. The final consists of a written paper.

This was a brand new class that, from a student's perspective, needs A LOT of work. Brian seemed like a good professor, but the weekly content of the course was nearly unbearable. PowerPoints drag on and lead up to a midterm that most the class failed. Second half of the course consists of group paper and presentation.

This is the best LSP 100 class. You will visit many businesses and he always makes it fun. If you turn in all your work you are guaranteed an A in his class. Star Trek: Voyager and Ethics is an easy once a week class on Wednesday where you have to stay the full class period from 6 to 9:15 but it is very easy so long as everything is turned in on time. He allows revision on every assignment and gives full credit even for late work.

If you take this class looking for Star Trek stuff you're in the wrong place, it's like 90% Ethics+other things and 10% Star Trek. Besides that the class was fine, lots of reading but the assignments were never really that hard(including the final and midterm papers). He does stress that you write about personal experiences, which i didn't love.

I took him for a 5-week course, and his assignments are easy. He gave me 100% on all of my assignments and allowed me to redo an assignment. If you have him for a 5-week course, beware of 4 assignments each week with two discussions and two assignments to do which are easy to do! I recommend taking him.

This is the best professor at DePaul. I have taken this professor from freshman year to my last class in college. The class discussions were great and I enjoyed debating with other students. He says at the beginning of the quarter that students guide the class discussion and are required to participate. Don't sign up if you walk in late nor talk

This is THE BEST professor at DePaul. Cares so much about students and makes your life easy. He MAKES STUDENTS TALK AND ENGAGE in class so make sure to participate. The only students who didn't get a good grade or liked him, were the ones quiet and said 1-2 sentences per class. Be a contributor and you will be fine

I loved this class so much. The class was based on participation and engaging with other students. He brings up a topic at the beginning of class and lets the students take over. THIS CLASS WAS GRADED HEAVILY ON PARTICIPATION. I enjoyed talking which is perfect, but this is not a course where you can show up late and sit in the back. Caring person!

The best professor for this seminar. PARTICIPATION IS NEEDED TO PASS. Show up on time, be present, contribute, write your mind and not an AI essay and you will pass. A couple kids failed for showing up late or not talking in class. He also wants you to write your open mind and life experience in your essays so he caught a couple kids using AI

Super open and nice professor! Despite being an Asynch class, he encouraged students to meet in-person and discuss the class concepts and any thoughts we may have had. Class is graded on attendance, can't miss more than 1 class and showing up on time, then participation which is adding on ideas and perspectives inclass. The professor was kind, but the class was challenging. Participation played a big role, and there was a heavy workload with lots of homework. The final included a handwritten free-writing assignment, followed by an extended lecture. While the structure felt demanding and outdated, the professor clearly cared about student engagement

He is the best professor of liberal arts. He just wants you to write and pass his class. He is very knowledgeable and wants to help you succeed. You get a reading every week. The mid-term and the final are not hard if you keep up and he lets you get revisions for both. He lectures but he does call on students to participate. Overall great!

This class was great but you definitely need to work for it. Professor Maj would have lectures that tied to the readings we had and papers we wrote and then allowed for a class discussion. Participation is heavily required in this class on top of attendance. I learned a lot from other students. Make sure to stay on top of your homework!

This was my most challenging course to date although I really enjoyed it. It was bout 1-2 papers a week followed by a couple of readings You also watch 1 Star Trek episode and tie it to the ethics reading. He wants you to write about your life. We had about 3 readings a week and had to participate in class discussion. We also had about 1-2 essays a week. Dr. Maj is an absolutely amazing professor! I would recommend him to anyone taking an internship, while the class itself is very difficult, Dr. Maj wants you to succeed and will meet you where you are at. He has office hours several times a week, and is always there to help. He also posts lots of study resources for all papers.

Difficult seminar on the future of work. There were papers, debates, and discussions with 2-4 questions due before class that were easy. Reading about every night that go along with the discussions. I found that I did need to meet outside of classes because the 3 graded class debates were difficult and took hours of preparation

This class was difficult, but I learned a lot. We had to write essays for key ideas/ questions and turn them in before each test. You'll need time for readings. Study your notes a lot. Essays involved writing philosophies from a list of key readings and a multi page essay question. He's a good guy and accessible outside of class if you need help.

Professor Maj is the best liberal arts teacher at DePaul! His class was super engaging yet rigorous. I am not a big fan of class discussions but this class made me get out of my comfort zone. The team debate was super fun but took a lot of time. I wish I had found out about professor Maj sooner. If you're ok with a heavy workload, take this class!

Honestly this was one of my hardest classes. I am so used to showing up to class and then going home to do my homework. Brian Maj grades very strictly on attendance and participation. He will fail you if you miss class as well. I found this too hard for me. He also makes your read a couple pieces before class and write personal stories with them. He teaches this like a liberal arts school would. He seems like a great guy just not my class type

I loved this class so much! It was the best although it did take a quite a bit of work. If you are willing to invest the time, it's so worth it. He changed to a strict attendance and tardiness policy so make sure you don't skip any classes regarldess of the reason otherwise you fail. Write some notes to class and you'll do great in the debates
