Awesome class!
Ridiculously easy class. I was really looking forward to actually learning something, but everything he teaches is already prior knowledge or common sense. He even presents his lectures like if he were teaching them to little kids, which was really annoying. But it's a GE course, so just take it for the easy grade. Attendance isn't necessary.
He is awesome. The nicest teacher I have ever met, and he is extremey helpful. He gives you the answers to all the quizzes and finals, he gives you hints on everything. He is the most nicest teacher ever, the nicest and most laid back you will ever meet.
class was very interesting, Professor McCabe is one of the best teachers I have ever had! I changed my major to Geography because of this professor!
Great Proffesor was very helpfull and made class fun. Is very great about seeing you in office hours.
Such a fantastic professor, really made everything easy to understand. The google assignments were fun too. Would recommend, he's super cool. He has this really helpful in class study sessions a day or 2 before the exams. Very nice :D
His lectures are very interesting. He cares a lot about geography and hopes that his students do too. His online assignments can be tedious and his quizzes are difficult because there is always so much information that needs to be known. Midterm is fairly easy if you study everything on his study guide. Overall, great professor!
hes a cool teacher his class isnt hard didnt use much the book but if you dont have it he takes question out of the book on purpose for those who dont have the book. participation is big time if you dont he will knock you down bad so you kind off have to kiss ass a bit. his quizes are 20 points and theres 5 i believe 2 midterms w a studyguide
Definitely my favorite professor ever!! He is such an amazing teacher and is so passionate. He's charming, funny, and loves his job. His class is easy but you still have to work hard and study to get that A! He is fantastic with office hours, posts power points and gives helpful study guides. McCabe is great, TAKE HIM! :)
His class is very easy. Attendance is important as he gives "hints" on what WILL appear on the quizzes and tests. He makes complicated concepts easy to understand. Quizzes and midterms are easy if you study and remember his hints. He is always helpful to his students and respects students highly who care about their grade. Highly recommended.
This class was pretty easy, in the end I received a B probably because he gave me a 10/15 for participation which was stupid because I only missed 2 days. The lectures become increasingly boring but the material is basically easy, if you study. He's pretty chill but he's annoyingly arrogant. 2 research papers. Not too bad.
This class is really easy. He assigns readings, but you really don't need to do it. The midterm and final are all based off of the study guide he will give, so find the answers to it and study and you will get an A. Its that easy. There are quizzes (study for those) and 2 papers all of which are do-able if you study. Funny teacher, easy built class
As long as you study, go to class, and do all the assignments assigned you'll pass with a breeze. He's really tough on the papers and tests but that is expected because he wants to prepare you for the upper division professors. Overall, I enjoyed the class. He's a bit on the arrogant side but he's nice so it's okay! haha
This is a really easy class if you study. Quizzes are easy. Sometimes, he let you do it in groups. However, the worst parts are the research papers and exams. I highly suggest you to get started on the paper early and let he read it first before turning it in, because he grades them really tough. I love this class though, professor is cool!
You wouldn't expect this class to be interesting or relevant, but his personality really makes the class&lectures enjoyable and easier to learn. He incorporates current events which makes it more interesting, at least to me :) He's very clear on whats expected on his exams
Easy class! But you still have to put in the effort to get an A in the class. About 5 quizzes but they're easy. Book is not need in the class but you need it to study for exams. 2 research papers but I recommend to start them early he grades tough on them but I managed to get A's on both. His study guides are amazing; you'll get A's on exams!
Professor McCabe is great I would take this class again. He makes lectures interesting with his sense of humor and his class is enjoyable. Easy A great study guides that actually help. Research papers weren't too hard but he is a tough grader so put effort into them. Overall the class with him is worth taking.
This class is not easy. He has powerpoints that are 40 slides long and expects you to know only the most insignificant details for quizzes and is a tough grader. Everyone in my class is failing. He's a sweet guy though! A little arrogant and talks about himself a lot (and Starbucks?). No memorizing maps. More like history & wind patterns :
interesting subject teaches about relevant environment issues, he's a chill guy &rarely took roll (short lecture most times so it benefits you to go). only have to buy a $20 online book, 2 tests, a research paper, a powerpoint and easy quizzesextra assignments. i got sick during the final and he was super understandinghelpful. overall fun class!
So happy I had this professor. Highly recommend. Makes learning this subject fun. Study the book and pay attention in class and you'll do well.
This class is definitely tough. Most of the assignments are pretty straightforward and easy. Some of the Google Earth worksheets are kinda tough but not too bad. The midterm is a breeze if you really know the things on the study guide. The Research Papers (there's 2) at the end of the year is super gnarly though and he grades it pretty hard.
Prof. McCabe is a good lecturer. He's passionate on what he teaches and loves geography. He has a lot of stories to tell on where he's been and what he did on various locations. Lectures are from powerpoints, he gives a total of 5 quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Quizzes/midterm/final are simple and easy, as long as you go over notes. Easy GE.
Professor McCabe has been my favorite at CSUF thus far. Personally, I feel like he is very clear on what he expects, and is very welcome to students joining him in his office hours if you're willing to speak with him. If you struggle in his class, you must've never asked for his help. He's so passionate about what he does and loves his students.
You MUST study for his tests (midterm and final). There are sections where you have to draw diagrams straight from the book. This is the most studying I've done for a 100 level class. However, his lectures are interesting and there's a class party before the final. He's honest and clear about grading and what you need to improve on.
Easy online class, quizzes are on the exam and fairly easy if you just look at his lectures, same with exam, didn't open the book once. One fairly long research paper that was pretty difficult, but manageable just make sure you pick a good topic. Stay on top on online participation or your grade can drop. Overall a nice guy helps you if you ask
Took him for geo 110, great professor! Interesting lectures, offers an extra credit hike which was fun. Midterm and final but he gives helpful study guides. Would recommend taking him!
Brian is very entertaining (at least I thought so). The lectures although dry he makes funny with his commentary. I showed up to majority of his classes, but i don't remember attendance actually being mandatory. He is a pretty easy grader, if he see's you actually putting in the effort. Overall pretty straight forward class.
McCabe is funny but I somehow felt i was back in high school in his class. We had a potluck before our final? His reviews before tests are literally an outline of the tests so obviously don't miss that day. He LOVES himself. You learn more about him then the actual material. He's in the middle of writing a book so be prepared to hear about that.
This was a really fun class. The only hard part was the research paper, but if you talk to him about it he will help you a lot. He thinks he's really funny but his jokes are corny. As long as you do the study guide you can literally get 100 on all the tests. You only need the book for like 2-4 questions on the test but you'll know what he expects
DO GOOD ON YOUR RESEARCH PAPER. I never really studied and did really BAD on my research paper, but with the group quizzes (he gives everyone %100), easy final, AND extra credit.. I passed with a B in the class. You have to go to class and rely on most of the power points for the tests and quizzes.
Easy class. He's a pretty quirky guy but he makes the class entertaining. Don't bother with the book, he tests and quizzes based on his lectures. 4 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final. 1 group project (super easy) and a research paper (he grades very hard on this). Take notes, review the PowerPoint lectures and you'll pass no problem
Amazing professor! I highly recommend this class, it is very easy. 4 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final. He does a great job at explaining what he is looking for in the major exams, he does give out study sheets. It is almost impossible to fail them. You will leave this class wanting to change your major!
Even though he was my online teacher I still got to know him in office hours. He and I had good conversations including one about the city I currently live in which is super suburban and low key boring. He gives good life and academic advice. His class is relatively laid back.
Professor Mccabe is outsanding! I'm so glad I took his class! His class is very easy, as long as you follow the syllabus. There are 4 quizzes, some of them are open-book which is very nice of him! 1 super easy group project and 1 research paper that's 4 pages long. If you do bad on the paper, he provides a lot of extra credit, which is also easy.
His lectures interesting & funny! There are 2 major papers that we had to write but he gave good feedback on the first paper so that we were more prepared for the second one. He genuinely cares for his students and is very knowledgeable. Attendance is mandatory but for good reason since his quizzes come from the notes he writes on the board.
Ok, so Professor McCabe is not a bad guy at all. He is very nice and truly cares about his students. However, he is an extremely HARD grader and gives out lots of homework as well. His class is very hard to keep up with if you do not attend class on a daily basis. He also has a sort of cocky attitude sometimes as well. Not good, not bad, just eh.
4 quizzes , 4 case study wksts, 5 google earth wksts, 1 research paper, 1 group presentation, 2 exams. This class is SO EASY!!!!!! Prof McCabe helps on all assignments at office hours. I got a 97/100 on the midterm. His lectures are so interesting and fun. I highly recommend this class, it will for sure be the easiest class of your semester!!
Professor McCabe was one of my favorite professors at CSUF. I never thought Geography would be a fun and exciting topic to learn about. It is actually extremely interesting and McCabe has stories to keep you entertained for the whole semester and more. Great guy!
Awesome Prof. Awesome Class! I walked out of GEOG 120 this Fall 17 Semester being able to confidently say that I learned something worthwhile! It is a very interesting class. The workload isn't bad, but get ready to have work to do! He grades tough, but it's reasonable. Got an A and our class average was very high according to him!
Ok this is the funniest Professor I ever had. This was a basic Geo class, but he made it so enjoyable. If I had any extra electives to choose any class to take, I would even skip the easy psychology classes to take a class with him again.
Awesome professor. His class is really easy and interesting! He prepares you well for midterm and final.
He's a jerk at times (especially over e-mail), and would often go off topic to talk about Starbucks. You learn a lot in his class, though. The term paper is extremely difficult (he's a tough grader). Lectures are posted online at the end of the week, but he also gives whiteboard lectures which he doesn't post. Make friends if you don't go to class!
I took McCabe for 100 and 120. Hes been great both classes. Really cool and quirky guy. The 120 class consists of online quizzes that are easy, a mid term and final and several small assignments plus a research paper. Everything is fairly easy and he always encourages students to come to office hours. As long as you do the work youll pass.
McCabe is a great professor who makes a subject that many may find boring actually very exciting. He comes to class everyday with a passion to teach. Study for the quizzes using his lectures, due the study guides for the midterm and final and you should be good, and go to him so he can look over your research paper and you should get an A
One of my favorite so far! I enjoyed his class he is so kind! No need to show up on quiz days bc they are on online. You do need his book to pass quiz and exams!
One of the best professors I've ever had in college. Professor McCabe is very passionate in his work and will help you understand and be more interested in geography. His teaching overall is creative and memorable. In the future, I'd like to take this class again. He's very approachable but grades hard!
Such a great and engaging professor. Class wasn't all that of interest to me but prof. McCabe just makes it so interesting. Great story teller, slightly tough grader but not that much, and class is an easy A if u really just pay attention. You don't need to grind xtra hard for this class. Great guy, great teacher! Highly recommend for freshman
Honestly I loved this class! I thought it was going to be boring because Geography never interested me but Prof McCabe made it so interesting. Hes such a jokester and I looked forward to coming to class. He really knows how to not bore us with lectures. He also lives in Oregon which he will always bring up and its so funny! take him!!
Made the class interesting with his stories and his lectures are easy to follow. Does some white board lectures which makes the material easier to understand. Overall an amazing geography professor.
I was really scared to take a geography class, but he made it so much fun and so interesting! There are 5 labs and 5 spatials that can be difficult sometimes but go to his office hours, it really helps. The tests (midterm & final) and quizzes (4) are super easy just study the power points! You won't regret taking this professor!
Professor McCabe can be rude and condescending so youre better off asking a classmate for help than him. Attendance matters only that sometimes he gives secret lectures not posted But so long as you have a friend in the class youre golden. There is a lot of homework assigned and it can be very challenging. Get ready for a lot of computer work
The class was fun because of the stories he shared but difficult if you have no experience in google earth or geography in general. McCabe is very passionate in his field which is nice but stay awake for his lectures because they're actually interesting! He does lectures based on slides or goes off path onto a whiteboard lecture.
Lots of assignments. Vague instructions. Does not prepare you for quizzes but will tell you what's on the test. Funny lectures and class party at the end of the semester. Overall, class is heavily based on his labs that he makes you figure out on your own. His instructions are so vague you'll just hope you did well
I always enjoyed going to this class because the professor was very energetic and passionate about his work. He never left students unprepared when it came to quizzes and tests. The homework load was not excessive so it is very easy to manage. He is also very available if you need help outside of class!
Prof. McCabe is very genuine and is always available to help students. He truly wants you to succeed and is always clear with his expectations. Lectures are very organized and easy to understand. He made the transition to online learning very smooth and I would definitely take him again.
Assignments can be hard, but theyre fun. He is available outside of class and wants you to be there in office hours. Hes really funny and super excited about urban geography. He talks a lot about his old jobs and life experiences, but theyre entertaining to listen to. Id definitely take another class with him, and hes out of my majors.
Professor McCabe is a fantastic lecturer. I was excited to attend class every day just because his lessons were so interesting and enjoyable. His assignments are fun and if something is unclear, he is always available to answer any questions during his office hours (which I recommend going to). Quizzes were a bit tough, though.
I love him! Such a funny guy and makes jokes here and there in his lectures. My current class with him is asynchronous so his lectures are pre-recorded and sends out weekly videos as an update of what is going on during the following week. His quizzes/midterms are straight from his recorded lectures so make good notes!
One of my favorite professors! Super caring, approachable, and will help you whenever you need it. His assignments are actually fun to do and his class is an easy A as long as you pay attention to his lectures.
Great class, very interesting topics. Work is easy enough, do your thing. Projects are cute and fun its like a high school class. Only thing that bothered me is that he characterized "climate deniers" as old rich white men. Other than that, very good class and very good teacher.
I love Professor McCabe. He is so funny and incorporates stories within his lectures. I would definitely recommend taking his class! No textbook is needed and tests and quizzes are straightforward, just watch the lectures.
Professor McCabe is an amazing online professor. Though there is no live class, his lectures are super easy to follow and fun to watch. His spatial assignments can be difficult, but he is always available over Zoom to help. Very interesting and straightforward material and homework expectations. Overall, take Professor McCabe!
Great professor! This class is one lecture and 2 assignments every week. There are 4 quizzes total, a midterm, final and final project. Easy A! There is no textbook and overall I really enjoyed his class! I would recommend Professor McCabe.
This class is one lecture and 2 assignments every week. There's 4 quizzes total, a midterm, final and final project. Easy A! The quizzes are specific based on the lecture, but overall this was an easy class! I would recommend Professor McCabe, he is very caring and understanding.
Professor McCabe is amazing! He has such an amazing soul and is very passionate about the subject. His grading criteria is very clear and because this class is asynchronous, we just had to turn everything in by Fridays. Just take good notes on his recorded lectures and you'll do amazing!
Professor McCabe is a wonderful professor and his class was enjoyable; The class was online, but it was one of my favorites. There are weekly assignments and quizzes every 3 weeks, but if you watch his lectures, youll do fine; he even includes personal anecdotes in lectures. Hes an amazing and understanding professor, please take him if you can!
Professor McCabe was an amazing professor! He adapted so well for Online learning and is super informative with his lessons. He has all materials accessible, gives clear instructions with each assignment, and grades fairly. Make sure you take good notes from the lectures because the quizzes and exams reflect back on them! Amazing course!
Take Him!!!! He is one of the best professors I've had. He is so passionate about teaching and is always willing to help you. My emails were always answered right away which was very helpful. I loved this professor and I would absolutely take his class again.
For 329 and 110 u have to do reviews/spatials (easy). If ur lost just ask for help. Hes really funny/entertaining even though the lectures were prerecorded. Hes kinda picky but just follow directions and u should be fine. You do have to put in effort but its still easy. I didnt even do the final project and I got an A in the class :P ... take him!
After reading reviews for him, I expected the class to be better than it actually was. His instructions are vague, lectures sometimes go off topic and he can be very detail oriented. He said multiple times that he would grade us hard & I've never been more stressed about a class. Be prepared to write in APA with no instruction of how to do that.
This is one of my favorite online classes that I've ever taken (and perhaps one of my favorite college classes in general). Prof. McCabe really knows his stuff! He's aware of how these issues affect marginalized groups, and he will tell you; which is rad. But PLEASE take detailed notes, lol. Everything he says in a lecture matters!
A bit lecture heavy but Brian keeps them entertaining. A bit heavy on the homework though so I'd only recommend if you don't have a busy schedule or good time management. He leaves lecture videos every week, followed by either a lab, spatial, or quiz. There are 4 of each throughout the semester as well as 1 final project and 2 exams. Fun class tho
McCabe is a very good professor, even tho his lectures can be long at times (abt 1 hour), he makes good commentary and tries his best to make sure u understand the topic. He can be kinda picky with some things, but his feedback is always helpful. As for his assignments, they're pretty manageable and quite easy. The final wasn't that bad either!
Very great and knowledgable professor, the exams and quizzes are easy if you simply pay attention to the lectures. There is an independent project involving a paper and a presentation. The labs and assignments are easy if you just follow instructions.
His passion and intelligence are so fascinating. He's very organized and provides a clear structure for his class. He provides an excellent experience.
One of my favorite professors!!! Amazing teacher, very interested in the topic he is teaching which makes it more interesting. Theres like one hw assignment a week which are overall pretty easy. Test are pretty easy, my class was in person but all my test were online. He also tells entertaining stories about his interesting life.
His class was my favorite! The topic is interesting and he makes it interesting. He does make you work for it, so expect to do an assignment every week, but its nothing too hard. He is very helpful if you ask. I recommend taking his class. I felt like I learned a lot
This was a very fun class to take and Professor McCabe made it enjoyable. Expect at least one assignment a week and take good notes. This is an easy upper division class to take and Professor McCabe is great
Professor's lectures are interesting, relevant (current), and lively. Not a lot of writing, but he expects upper-division writing skills for this class. Homework takes time but is worth it for what you learn. You get the grade you earn, so don't slack. Be careful and specific with answers. Ask for help. Go to office hours; he cares and is helpful.
Very light on homework and tests and gives some leeway to this class because it is mostly freshmen, but expects high quality and correct work from the specific instructions he gives. Lectures are very engaging and relevant to current events, but you need to pay attention to everything because he sneaks curveball questions on his quizzes and exams.
The class was mainly lectures. At the end you have to make a group presentation. The test come from his lectures and you sometimes get free response but he gives you a couple days to do it. He gives an assignment almost every week but theyre doable.
4 spatials. 4 labs. 4 quizzes (taken at home). 1 midterm (87% class average). 1 individual research project (slideshow & writing assignment). 1 group presentation. Weekly assignments, lots of writing, but topics are interesting & relevant and work is doable. You get the grade for the work you put in. He's funny, caring, & actually WILLING TO HELP.
I normally hate lecture classes and fall asleep, but Professor McCabe is a genius. His lectures so much fun and interesting. He has labs, quizzes, and spatials. MAKE TIME FOR SPATIALS. Do not start it the day of, it can be time consuming. The quizzes and final tests are super easy. He is overall a great professor and I would 100% take him again.
10/10 would recommend! He is an amazing professor and I love his style of teaching and just makes the course fun and interesting. He also gives us interesting stories from his life. He is also hilarious and just made this course so enjoyable! never missed a day! In class he makes you do spatial assignments, group project, and quizzes and tests.
I had Professor McCabe my first year at CSUF (Fall 2020) and by far Geog 110 has been my favorite class. The passion he had while teaching the class and presenting his lectures made me want to major in Environmental Studies. He was a fair grader and homework was light work if you attended the class and paid attention during the lectures.
Professor McCabe was seriously the best professor I've had all year. You can tell he is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the subject. I have never taken an interest in Geography and thought I would hate the class, but he makes it interesting to learn. He is a reasonable grader; just make sure you attend lecture and you should be fine.
Take this class!!! McCabe makes this class interesting, even though most of class is a lecture, it's not boring. His group projects are fun, and all exams are taken online. We had a class party at the end!!
Best prof I've ever taken. The class consisted of labs and spatial and 2 research projects one is a paper and another is a group project. So take this class if you can make time for it also he's very caring and always help so if you need help go to office hours. Reading is optional and his lectures and his passion inspired me to minor in geography
This was my second time taking McCabe and I loved it once again. He is very funny, understanding, and easily accessible. He was always open for office hours, and was always willing to help. He made the topic so interesting and something to care about.
4 spatials. 4 labs. 4 take-home quizzes. 1 take-home midterm & final (w/ writing prompt). 1 individual research project (slideshow & writing assignment). 1 group presentation. Weekly assignments, lots of writing, but topics are interesting, relevant, & work is doable. You get the grade for the work you put in. He's funny & actually WILLING TO HELP.
4 spatials, listen to lecture because quizzes are straight from notes, but not hard. Works with students and is very clear on guidelines. Assignments are very clear, even though beginning may be a little tuff, if you ask for help the assignments will become way easier. Overall would take again, and very good professor.
He was a overall good rounded and knew what he was talking about it was weekly assignments and one research paper with a presentation but gives lots of time in advance.
His class is super interesting!! c: Do not miss any of his lectures, sometimes he does lectures only on the whiteboard. All his exams were online and he gives you a window to take them. I highly recommend going to his office hours for his assignments, it takes no longer than 5 minutes for him to help you get an A.
Professor McCabe was an amazing professor. He does grade harshly but as long as you ask questions and tend office hours, you will be in his good graces. Spatials, Tests, and quizzes were pretty easy and he lets you take them on your own time so make sure to make time for all of it!! It is time-consuming and you will spend hours on the material.
Decent professor. You have to show up for "white-board lectures" that aren't accessible on the lecture slides he uploads and good luck with getting those notes if you're in a discord chat because not a lot of people will help. Assignment instructions were filled with misspellings and confusing. Grades and criticizes on things not mentioned.
McCabe does a great job of keeping the class engaging. Weekly homework assignments, its not hard, just essential to get done. He is a harsh grader, but if you're a good student, you won't run into any problems.
Took his geog329 class and it was really good! Only homework are spatials (fairly easy, and you can ask for help), online exams, and a group project! Lectures are very interesting, overall would take his class again!
This is my second time taking the professor again and he will forever be the best professor. He is very passionate on what he teaches and is very organized. One assignment per week and does white board lectures but its important to not miss those because the professor will not provide the notes for those days. Go to office hrs and he will help alot
This class was fascinating, and the professor is very informative. Going to class is not mandatory, however, it is important to attend to gain information for course material and exams. The assignments are not too bad but get a little more tedious and heavier throughout the semester. The professor is very helpful during office hours. Group Final.
Professor McCabe was the best Geography professor I could have asked for. As long as you pay attention to his lectures and take notes, you'll understand the material. He is very open to meeting with students during office hours and even encourages it. The assignments and tests are very manageable.
Professor McCabe is a great professor. Overall this was a pretty easy class to take online. The spatials/case studies could be a little difficult in the beginning and kinda time-consuming, but once you get the hang of it, they get easier. The exams/quizzes aren't bad as long as you take good notes on everything he says in the lectures.
I absolutely loved everything about this class and the professor. His lectures were light, easy to understand, in my opinion, used a lot of personal experience. He posts lectures online, so just listen to him. Spatials take up the most time! If you are a procrastinator, or a VERY heavy workload, do not take this class. It took me 2-4 days to do it.
I am beyond happy with this class. Professor Mccabe is one of the most caring, funny professors I've had. He lectures clearly, instructions are clear. Come to his office hours and you'll do good. The only tricky assignment is the spatial, but it will get easier as you go. Test are all open book and all are mentioned in lecture. TAKE HIM I LOVE HIMM
I loved McCabe! His office hours are great and helped me a lot. Spatial and Labs are the majority of the assignments. They are very time-consuming, but it gets easier after doing them for a while. He is picky when grading them, so I recommend asking for feedback before submitting them. Exams are straightforward and open book. Would take again :)
Pretty easy class, once you get the hang of google earth assignments are so easy. I would say the hardest part are the quiz/test because some information is not even from the lectures/whiteboard notes (part of being in class only). The class overall is pretty interesting but some parts do get a little boring. I found the group project pretty fun
The class material is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. The spatials may come off as intimidating at first but they become easier. Quizzes are open notes so make sure you review slides and write down notes during lecture. Class participation is necessary so try not to miss cause he will take points off. An A is doable as long as you show up.
Prof McCabe is an amazing professor, I wish I could retake his class. His lectures are interesting if your into science, and he's pretty funny and throws in a few jokes during the class. His grading can be a bit tough but with practice you can easily get perfect scores.
This was likely my favorite class last semester! The professor was enjoyable to listen to and passionate about their topic. However, I wish they made their assignments clearer. I often needed help from others to understand the professor's expectations. Also, the first assignment was graded harshly to emphasize the importance of attention to detail.
(GEOG311) Thorough lectures, little homework (lab assignments and 2 group projects. 3 quizzes, NO EXAMS). Fairly easy if you've had an intro to geography class. Quizzes graded heavier, 1st lab graded strictly (but others more relaxed). Get to know a few classmates, it makes choosing groups & completing the projects much smoother. EASILY Recommend
Professor McCabe is a great prof, his lectures are informative and he's a funny guy. Hw every week but it's doable if you don't procrastinate. Not a harsh grader, and provides good feedback. Quizzes are easy and lecture-based, but he posts the slides. Group project at the end but enough time is given to complete. Overall a great prof!
Quizzes are online and you are allowed to use notes. Spatials & labs are difficult, but get easier after time. Also don't be afraid to ask for help!!!
Professor McCabe's class was genuinely enjoyable and he was always able to explain topics in a way that you could understand and would always be more than happy to explain something you didn't understand. Assignments weren't supper difficult and were fun.
Although this class is really lecture heavy, it's easy and as long as you pay attention and do the work! He does have frequent assignments but they're doable. If you need help he's always available during office hours. Midterm/Final/Tests/Quzzies are all online, he reuses a lot of the questions. Also TAKE NOTES! It helps a lot for his tests etc.
Professor McCabe makes the course material engaging. His lectures are worth attending, and office hours are super helpful for the spatials. unstuck AI's study tools complemented my prep for the open-book exams. An A is doable with diligence.
Geog 110 was a great class and I would def take it again. It was interesting and the professor was great too. I recommend taking notes in class and all the quizzes and exams were online which made it easy and the online homework is simple once you get the hang of it. Theres one group project at the end of the semester which was really fun too.
Great professor! I wish I could retake the class again. He is very passionate and is available through office hours and responds fairly quick to emails. The homework is a bit tough at first but when you get the hang of it is almost hard to mess up. Professor McCabe is pretty funny, I miss his class
BEST. TEACHER. EVER. real world facts and homework that stretches your brain. spacials are a bit tough at first but he is SOOOO good at telling you why they are going to be hard and that its gonna be okay. He is also VERY available during office hours. TAKE HIMMMM
not a science girl, but his class was enjoyable! hilarious dude, makes lectures very interesting. GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS! his spatial assignments are difficult at first (took me a couple to get used to them), but once you figure out what he wants, they are easy and fun. extra credit opportunities! do recommend if you need to fulfill a science req
Super nice and flexible professor, quick responder, has a passion for the subject
Professor McCabe is the man! The lectures are informative and he can be very funny. Homework is doable, with the spatials taking some time to understand. Quizzes/midterms were online. Fun group presentation at the end, with the hardest assignment being a research paper. You can definitely pass this class, and he always has office hours! Take him!
Professor Mccabe was a great professor! I had him for a morning class but he was super entertaining with lectures. all quizzes are online and they are open notes. everything is based off lecture. his assignments and spatial can be a bit more difficult and he is specific with grading, but if you try its very easy!
You will struggle at first however that's all part of the experience! Genuinely loved his lecture and overall a great professor! Go to his office hours for help!
Everything was mainly online, besides our final, which was a group presentation. I would not say the work was hard, but you should definitely pay attention to the instructions and ask for help if you need to. Spatial was the most time-consuming, so I would NOT procrastinate on that, but overall he has but interesting lectures!
