very good teacher...kinda funny...and extremely understanding of special circumstances...worth taking...just take good notes and read the quotes from books...read the book just in case...tests are not that hard...gave extra credit opportunities.
Good prof., holds your attention and great knowledge of subject matter. Good notes helped on the tests. Pop quizes, usually pretty easy if you have some general idea of the readings, tests aren't bad, a few essays including an oral history project. He's a cool professor, his class was pretty easy. I got a B, ave. person gets an A. I recommend him!!
Prof. O'Neil is the best, he's hot, young and funny in kind of dark way. He is always available to help. I would totally take him again, if I got the chance.
Great teacher! Extremely intelligent and really knows the material. Lectures are kind of boring, but interesting. Go to class because basically everything he says is on the quizes. He's a fun, cool, humorous guy. I would take him again
great teacher, makes class worth coming to. very organized and knows his material!
THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER. I absolutely hated history untilll I had O'neil. He makes classes worth coming to. All his quizes and test materials are based on his class lectures so showing up for classes are very important, but trust me, he will make you WANT to come. He's an interesting guy.
history is boring, but teaches it well. quizzes, midtrm, 2 papers, final. extra credit avail. went to class 10 times; when we had a quiz, a lecture here and there, andtests. got a B. quizes r directly from lecture.he's always looking at the clock.read the assigned books throughout the semester. they are needed for the final paper and final test.
Very easy class. He is nice, his lectures are very interesting, however it took me a while to adopt to his style of lecturing, but once I got use to it, the lectures were very clear. Its worth going to class since the questions to the quizzes come directly from the lectures. The multiple choice questions to the midterm & final come from the quizzes.
He's a cool guy. He knows his subject inside and out. He's young and total push-over, we always got him to extend the deadline for things. He takes a long time to grade and he has a lot of quizzes, but overall, it's not a bad class.
GREAT!!!! HE KNOWS HOW TO TEACH THE SUBJECT!!!!
Very cool teacher. Real laid-back, and a fair grader. Make an honest effort in the class and you'll do fine. O'Neil is one of the those profs that you would feel comfortable hanging out with after class. Definitely one of the better professors at CSULB.
fun and easy enough
Fairly easy class, however he gave no study guide or hints about the midterm/final, just show up and be prepared for anything. He seems like he doesn't care about the subject, or just doens't want to be there. And be ready for pop quizzes!
Pretty easy class. i didn't go t all the lectures and it was fine...just read the book before tests. He always plays music before class which is pretty cool. All around nice guy and good teacher
He is a nice guy, lectures can be a little boring, but every so often he will throw out some humor. Basically the class is based on 3 major tests, and some quizzes. He claims that he will give you pop quizzes, but our class hasnt gotten one yet.
Failed History the year before with a different prof. Did very well in Oneils class. Read the book and you will do fine on tests. Made class somewhat enjoyable with his humor. keep your old quizzes, he used the same questions on the test
Good guy, and a perfect fit to teach California history ... Attend class, do the readings and you will do fine. His exams are straight-forward and uses many of the questions from his quizzes. I would take another class with him.
Easy class if you attend. 3 exams with study guids. Quizes are really easy if you took notes. Good lecturer.
HIS CLASS IS PRETTY KICK BACK. JUST COME TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES. POSTS EVERYTHING ON BEACHBOARD. QUIZZES & TESTS, 1 ESSAY. HE'S AWESOME.
His lectures were pretty boring and somewhat uninformative. Your grade is primarily made up by 3 term papers worth 20% each. Though class attendance isn't mandatory (he takes roll at times,) you might want to attend in case he gives out a pop quiz which isn't all that hard. As long as you write your papers well, you should be fine.
Really easy guy. His lectures are quite boring but he can be pretty funny. You don't need the textbook, just the "Major Problems" book. There are 7 quizzes, 2 tests, and 1 short essay. He is understanding andlaid back, I'd recommend him!
Take him! He's so chill. Don't need the textbook, just the Major Problems book. 7 quizzes are directly from the lectures. 2 tests mostly quiz questions and essay. One 3-5 page essay. He grades a little tough on the essay stuff, but otherwise, he's really cool. He sounds like he's bored with himself, but you can tell he loves CA history.
Class is pretty simple. You have an easy quiz after every major history section, a midterm and a final(short answer, essay and multiple ch. ?s from the quizzes). He does grade kinda hard on the essays butif you take good notes and study you can easily get a B. Oh there is a short essay which consists of 3-5 pages too. Take O'neil
Take his night class, he barely stays longer than 1.5 hrs. No textbook so midterm/final are all from notes. There are 4 books to read, and out of those you need to choose 2 to do the 5-6 page papers on. He gives quizzes based on assigned articles so make sure you are ready to take a quiz whenever he assigns an article. Plenty of reading, but chill.
take good notes. midterm questions are kinda tough but the only assignments in the whole class are midterms so it's easy in that there's not a lot of work, just studying. He's super nice and very thorough. Got through the whole class without a textbook (he makes you buy 2). like i said, take good notes and study and you'll be more than fine!!
Don't buy the book. Take good notes (or use voice recorder) and you'll be fine. Only 6 quizzes & 3 tests (not accumulative). Very easy. Gives lecture outlines and midterm study guides. I learned a lot and I hate history!
O'Neil is a cool teacher. He shows a lot of videos and most of the time we finished class about an half hour early. This class only had 4 books to read, two book reviews, a mid-term and final in blue book. He requires discussion questions to be answered on the books read and there are easy quizzes that goes along with the reading.
Lots of reading from the book. His lectures are slow, he goes off on many dumb tangents and gets behind. The tests are RIDICULOUS! For each one you have to write 2 half page short IDs, answer 40 multiple choice, and one 2-3 page essay... in an hour!! If you like rushing through tests, take this professor. If not, I suggest taking someone else.
this class is a joke. his stupid quizzes are so HARD. you actually have to read 50-70 pages every week and its overkill. and the person below me is exactly right about the tests. ONE HOUR? SERIOUSLY? i would NEVER recommend this professor. The book basically teaches you, not him. and he plays stupid loud music before class. UGH!
This guy is awesome. The two people below this probably never pay attention in class or take notes. He gives quizzes frequently but if you study your notes right before class you'll do fine, maybe look up the quotes. Midterms are easy the identifications and essay are fairly easy. Go to class just to get the notes because he does mostly lecture.
Great guy, he is really nice and helpful, but the lectures are a little boring. The midterms consist of forty multiple choice two short answer id's and a little essay that only needs to be 3 pages in a small blue book. The quizzes can be a little hard but he does go over everything in class. Also the final is not cumulative.
Great professor. He speaks very quickly during his lectures and his lectures are all you need to do well in the class. Never opened the book but attended class everyday and got an A. quizzes are a little tough but he goes over everything in his lectures. pretty easy class. extra credit essay opportunity
To pass this class, you HAVE to attend class and take notes on everything he says. All 3 books unnecessary. He's super cool. Cannot get distracted easily or you'll miss important details for the test. His "pop quizzes" that weren't "pop" appeared on the tests. Essay questions for the test given ahead of time. Practice those at home, very helpful.
The class is alright, it's history so it's a little dry at times but he tries to keep you interested. The quizzes are easy if you pay attention and the questions reappear on the mid term and final. All and all a good teacher.
Loads of reading and studying to do in this class. Earning an A takes a lot of dedication to attending class everyday and studying outside of it as well. I got a B by going to class and studying the powerpoints. The last day of class is actually fun.
Retook this class with Professor O'Neil and passed with a B. Take good notes and study them! I usually went over the powerpoints & quizzes before the test and did fine. Class was interesting most of the time.
Brilliant, captured my attention in a class of 300! the most amazing class i have taken last semester.
He's a really good teacher! He loves his subject and is very knowledgeable. Quizzes weren't bad and he uses some of the questions on the final. Make sure you read the Major Problems assignments - he has quote identification on the quizzes.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere he created in the classroom (he would play music at the beginning of class). His quizzes were from lecture and textbook, no surprises. He is not easy, but not hard by any means. He is worth taking.
This class would be far better if he dropped the stupid quizzes he keeps throwing at you. 3 tests 20% each, 1 essay 20%, and quizzes are 20%. If you ask me, quizzes should be worth 10% and attendance worth 10%. That pushed me just out of range for an A :(
As a history prof this was an excellent class, but for those who are taking this as a upper div. G.E. it may be a little different, I found that the students with another major struggled more. But it was very interesting he played videos to emphasize the lecture, a bit of reading but it wasnt too bad.
He is a great Professor; just make to read the book and the assignments he assigns and you should pass his class.
Great teacher! His quizzes are pretty easy as long as you attend class and take notes. Didn't even have to read the book.
6quizes,2mids and final.
gives way too much reading...no study guide. tests and quizzes are hard.
Lectures/attendance is important because every other week/or every week he gives quizzes based on the lectures & assigned readings. 25% of your grade = six quizzes. 25% midterm 1. 25% = midterm 2. 25 % final. Some days his lectures are interesting. Other days it is a snooze. Kind of strict..He kicked students out of class because they were talking
I hate history and he could make it kind of intersting at times. Attendance isnt mandatory but it helps with the quizzes being so frequent. His study guides are whack, but at least he tries. He is one of the slowest graders ever which is frustrating but he is a pretty good prof other than that.
Hate history, but he is a pretty decent professor. Takes him FOREVER to grade and return the midterms which is extremely frustrating. Tons of reading, definitely need to pay attention in class.
I was never interested in history but this teacher changed it all!! greatb teacher.. quizes almost every week but if you attend class and read the assigned readings you will get an A for sure
HE IS AWESEOME! Very passionate about the subject and he knows how to lecture. Good humor too! I highly recommend!
Really good teacher book is not required as long as you take good notes. Makes class pretty interesting. When he says a quote make sure you write down the speaker because it will be on the quiz. Only negative thing is he took forever giving our midterms back. It took him about 2 months to give our first midterm back and never gave back the other test. Easy B if you try a bit.
He's a much easier grader than some other history profs. Do all the readings and follow the instructions he gives for the assignments and you'll get a good grade. 2 short papers, 4 reading response question sets, a midterm, a final, and the occasional quiz, which he lets you know the topic for. Also lets you out early.
Cool professor. Lectures are clear and interesting, but sometimes boring. Taking notes and reading is KEY. Attendance not mandatory. 7 quizzes and 3 tests which have a writing part, but it's easy if you prepare for it. Offers a lot of ec at the end. I recommend him!
I hated history until i took him.. he makes it interesting with pics, videos, and funny stories.. seems very easy going. quizzes every other week. take good notes and you don't have to read. only downside is tests have essays so it takes him forever to grade.. but he gives you the topic before the test.
Chill ass professor. Occasional quizzes on chapter outlines (I took 6) Pretty easy if you study, 2 Tests 1 Final (not cumulative) - consists of 40 multiple choice questions and Essay. No other papers. Gives you chances for extra credit towards finals. Overall chill class, may get kind of boring if you don't like history.
Awesome class, you learn a great deal about various immigrant groups and how they have impacted the United States. A lot of reading, but it helps with the lectures. the occasional quiz, 2 short essays, i research paper 8-12 pages, an oral presentation on said paper, and a midterm essay and final essay, both in class
boring class with boring teacher who is unprepared for class cos he just became a father and is so tired, you never stay the whole class his lectures are short & miss a lot of information. lot of reading is the classes saving grace. great text book. but he is a nice history geek
there are too many notes for each exam. And if you are going to just write down what he says you'll be screwed because he is too general. Read the book and the documents online otherwise you'll be in jeopardy in the exams.
he's overall ok, his lectures are boring and his voice is pretty mono-tone. i suggest to show up and take everything he says down and try to follow his lecture outline, so you don't have to read the book too much. 2 midterms, 1 final (all had mc, short answers, essay with study guide). quizzes every other week. i got a B, there is extra credit!
2-3 QUIZZES IN 2 WEEKS THEN EXAM. I HAVEN'T USED THE BOOK AT ALL JUST SHOW UP TO CLASS AND TAKES NOTES USING HIS LECTURE OUTLINE. ITS VERY CHILLLLL BUT HIS EXAM IS A 3 PART EXAM.
Nice guy grades easy. Class is not mandatory but test consist of notes just go to class and you will definitely get an A.
He is a really nice guy. You don't need the book. If you go to class. He has about 7 Quizzes and 2 midterms plus the final. If you take good notes it will be easy. He gives out extra credit. When he says a quote make sure to write it down, it will usually pop up on a Quiz. I got a B but could of had an A if I started my flashcards tactic earlier.
Super easy class as long as you type out your notes trying to get as much as you can from what he says you will not need the textbook. I got an A on all three exams just by reading my notes. The same goes for the quizzes. He puts questions directly from what he says in the lecture so pay attention and take good notes and you're good to go!
A wonderful teacher, but he really does go off-topic often. The only thing I regret is not trying harder when I should have. If you receive a C or lower in this class, you were either really arrogant thinking he was so easy or you just didn't care at all.
Boring teacher. Only good if you're an auditory listener, doesn't post notes up so you have to show up for the lecture. Frequent quizzes. Expects a lot from students during the tests. There are essays but only during the tests. Not an easy A, especially if you're not interested in history.
O'Neil was the best for 301. Made everything clear in what he wanted. Journals assigned were simple and easy to do. For a 300 level class it was pretty easy! best teacher this semester!
Lectures are soo boring, but you have to take really good notes. If you don't go to lecture, just read the book. You'll be fine.
Easy class to pass if you read and take good notes during the lecture. Assigns a ton of reading, but is a pretty easygoing professor.
The guy is great, although he's poorly organized. His class is really boring but that's probably just cause it's history. I'm not very good at history so even though I pay attention, I'm still getting a B. You should probably bring a laptop because he talks in phrases and you'll need to write down every word. Good guy though.
Lectures all over the place where it's sometimes hard to follow. one of the most boring classes I've taken but if you follow with the readings and study for the quizzes/midterms/finals and do the 3-4 page essay, you'll be fine. But going to lecture was a definite mood killer because it was beyond boring. He did not make it interesting at all.
Attendance is needed if you want to do well on quizzes and exams. I hardly opened the text book. I recommend not getting the book at all. What is important is the primary sources that he gives us online. If you take good notes and read you should be okay. Also in every Exam you will need to write an essay, 2 identifications and multiple choose.
It is VERY hard to earn an A. I was really frustrated because I put so much time into this class and only got a B. It's like he grades hard on purpose because he believes he is the only one worth an A grade. Anyway, there is a 20 Q M.C. quiz every other week, two midterms, a 3-4 pg. paper and a final. You will pass with a C or B if u put in work.
Honestly this class involves A LOT of reading. You need to read the book if you don't like attending lectures. I received a B and i was never there. An A is possible if you actually like history. OR if you attend class and read.
He was super chill. But i admit his tests are pretty hard if you don't study for it. 3 midterms and an essay. Pretty down to earth guy, I liked him a lot.
He is so nice! His lectures can get a little dull but he is a good teacher. 3 midterms: 1 essay question, 2 short answer 45 multiple choice, 1 essay, a few online quizzes here and there. Read the book! His midterms are kind of hard so you have to study. I recommend him!!
GOOD TEACHER BUT BORING; YOU WILL GET AN A IF YOU READ THE BOOK
2 Midterms that consisted of 30-45 multiple choice question with an essay question, some online quizzes, and 1 essay. Quizzes and midterms are hard but if you go to class and take notes you should be fine. Very funny teacher and makes History fun!
All of his exams are not cumulative. If you want an A you need to read the book and attend the lecture. Some of the quiz questions are on the midterms and final exam. Will be hard if you don't study. Overall, he's really nice but the lectures can get pretty boring.
Nice teacher, but it'll be his fault if you fail. His lectures are vague and he will expect you to remember the pointless details, not the main events. Things such as how many died in the war and not stuff like how the war started. Be careful because he does not go over every topic, he skips topics but take good notes and hope for a good grade.
I had to work EXTREMELY hard for my A. It was almost impossible. Hes funny and helpful but his lectures are hard because he does not put the notes up, you have to memorize what he says. he also focuses on super unnecessary details. for example hell ask like "what happened in 1949" like uhhh a lot of stuff did. NOT EASY
worked super hard for an A, ended up with a B. you have to know all material and details for tests bc you never know how little or big of a detail is going to be asked. lectures alright but have to read text for clarity on tests.
Too easy. Skim the books. Write decent papers, you'll be a-okay.
O'Neil is a straightforward professor. He gives decent outlines, but make sure to read the sections well prior to the test as some of the stuff is not on the outline. An A may be harder to achieve, but a B is pretty easy. Do the extra credit work early and do not procrastinate. The essay assignment should have a coherent thesis.
He's quite monotone when teaching and I found myself dozing off during his lectures. Pay attention to his lectures and take notes. You could also read the book, but only for the online quizzes. Make sure you look over the online quizzes or print them out with corrected answers because some are on the test. He's not an easy grader but does give EC.
Just attend class and use your textbook and you should pass this class
Online quizzes every week- have to pay for code. No assigned reading. 2 tests +final. One short essay. Offers extra credit. I only went to class once a week. His lectures are extremely boring, but he is a nice guy with a sense of humor. He will keep students updated by email. Fast grader. Good teacher- take him!
If you want to get an A in history, do not take him.
The lectures consists of Professor O'Neil simply speaking. Make sure to take notes on everything he says. Read the textbook, complete the online quizzes, do the study guides for the exam & the short essay & you'll be fine. Overall, an easy A if you ask me. (:
Your grade depends on how much time you put aside to study for the class (duh). I spent as much time studying for this class as I did my major courses and still got a B. He is a tough grader on the essay and the essay questions for the 2midtermsfinal. take notes on his lectures to get an A, if you don't go to class it'll be tough.
What can I say? I barely passed. He drones on and on and it makes it confusing and I struggled with what to write my notes on and I enjoy History but I just couldn't concentrate in his class. Do not take unless you like stressing out around midterms and finals. Be sure to actually read the text! Don't push it off like I did.
Some of the lectures were irrelevant to what we needed to learn. I do NOT recommend this professor.
Its just kind of boring. You learned this stuff in high school. I did not pay as good attention as I should've. I don't recommend this professor. This was my only C. Get a professor that will keep you awake.
Pretty straight forward class. 2 mid terms, short essay and online quizzes through Connect every couple weeks. He has great extra credit opportunities to help boost your quiz score. O'Neal is honestly a super sweet guy who is passionate about history, but doesn't seem to show it during his lectures
Don't take this class if you have a tendency to skip. He goes over a lot of information every class. Take your laptop for notes and be prepared to catch everything he says bc he does not put notes in his powerpoints. 2 midterms, 1 major paper, and the final is not cumulative.
He is very helpful by posting his lectures online. Access code required for his class. Be sure to take notes, as he gives a lot of information that will show up on tests. He gives you study guides and always let you know what you're expected to know.
Im still taking this class now but so far it has been pretty straight forward. Attendance isn't mandatory but you miss a lot if you dont go. Notes are based off what he says but outlines are posted online. Tests are moderately difficult but he tells you the essay prompts before hand. Just study and do the reading and you"ll pass
You will be graded on 5 things: 2 midterms, 1 essay, 1 final, and weekly online quizzes. Each is worth 20% of your grade, so try to do really well on those quizzes. He's a tough grader on the essay and the essays in the midterm. He'll often say something in the lecture and it will show up on the test. Work hard, and you'll get a good grade.
Boring but knows what he's talking about. Pretty easy class. the writing assignment is challenging because you need to take time out of your day and go get it checked by a writing lab. the information is in the lectures, so I do not recommend missing, but it's not mandatory.
I loved this class because it was so simple and straight-forward. What he has in the lectures is exactly what is on the test. He is understanding and kind of funny. The only thing is that your grade is only tests and quizzes so don't screw up on those online tests or you'll slip down to a B like me instead of an A on an easy class.
This class was lecture heavy & online portion to take quizzes each week. Prof O'Neil is very predictable. His lectures can seem very long and boring because he speaks to the class and doesn't really engage. He gives you the slides to follow along with during class. Overall this class is very manageable and not much work.
Taking this as a GE requirement I looked for the best professor I could. This is definitely a great one for Recent US History. Quizzes are taken online at home, midterms are in class, lectures and readings are very important. Don't miss a class if you can. It's an easy A if you're able to engage in learning about the US.
This class was the hardest class i have ever taken!! The class is lecture heavy and you really have to study a lot. He kind of teaches all over the place, making it hard to understand the concept. Wish there was group work and papers to turn in to get a better understanding. You get graded off of 2 midterms and one final plus quiz every week.
Boring lectures, but gives tons of information. Hard to take notes bc he talks a lot, so just read the book. Online quizzes every week but can be found on quizlet. 2-3 exams, 1 paper. Gives essay prompts ahead of time on study guides. Tests can be hard if you don't study the online quizzes & read a little bit. Basic class to fill for GE.
His class wasn't bad. Attendance isn't mandatory, but sometimes provides important information during class. Grade papers and tests (essay/short answer portions) fairly. Gives you test essay questions ahead of time so it's not a surprise. Reminds students when things are due a lot. Only problem I had with him is that his lectures were boring.
His lectures are very boring, but its not hard to pass his class. All his quizzes are online...
Do go to class if you don't plan on doing readings. His lectures are heavy and boring, but he discusses everything you need to know for the test. He releases 3 essay questions beforehand, 2 of which will be on the test, and you only need to do 1 of those 2. Quizzes are easy and online. Assignments are graded fairly.
He has been the most boring professor I have ever taken. I did not learn anything in his lectures because he just rambles. His powerpoints are just photos with no context. The exams have essays and short response questions, so you have to study a lot. The essay and other assignments were not graded fairly being a general ed class. He is awful.
Mr. ONeil doesnt go by canvas (online grading system) which is annoying. I thought I was going to receive a B but got a C instead. This class was boring, no one paid attention to his class, just be on laptop or phone. Online quizzes were due each week and the 4 exams given were heavy (multiple choice question plus essay). Take another professor.
Amazing teacher, really gets your attention.
He's a really nice professor but sucks at inputting grades. We are on week 12 and he hasn't inputted any assignments we've turned in since the first day of class. You're required to buy the connect textbook because that's where he puts in your quizzes. There's quizzes almost every week, multiple assignments, no midterms, 2 essays, and a final exam.
Class consisted of weekly homework assignments and a weekly quiz. Had to read documents to do all homework assignments but tbh I didn't read them and still got 100%s on my hw. Only a midterm and final exam. Homework wasn't difficult and he gives you plenty of time to get it done.He also pushed back a lot of due dates for assignments so don't stress
Not egregious, but mind-numbingly boring. He regurgitates the kind of drivel you learn in your highschool history class in freshman year, and didn't grade any homework until the very end of the semester. Just watch some crash course Hank Green videos and attend once a week, or avoid the class altogether. Also, he never wore his mask correctly.
His lectures are quite boring but going to them will definitely help a lot in exams since the essays will be based on what he wants you to write. Essays and other writing assignments are graded unfairly as there's no proper rubric. If you want a VERY easy GE, this is not the class.
I would not take this professor again. Professor assigned lots of readings each week. Was a tough grader, even with the extra credit I had done and good grades on the exams I ended with a B. I wish I had chosen a different professor.
Sometimes his lectures can be boring but he is a kind person who seems to genuinely care about his students. Not the most engaging class, but still better than others. If I was taking more history classes, I'd look for his name again.
He was a good professor but the lectures were pretty boring. The slides he posts about the outline confuse you because a specific manner doesn't organize them. His grading system is pretty confusing and expect to get your assignments graded last minute.
Would take this again despite all the reading (most of which you don't need to read). Very easy class with frequent quizzes and take-home exams/papers. Lecture is pretty boring and not necessary to attend. I usually spent around 1-2 hours completing work every week. Honestly, an easy A if you're willing to put in a bit of work and writing!
Attendance wasn't mandatory; many ppl stop coming to class since his lectures were kinda boring with no words on it. However, there were weekly online quizzes and 5 hw assignments that can boost up your grade. What I like about him is that he gives study guides before exams, which helped me study. Final exam was not cumulative.
Professor O'Neil's lectures can be dry, but attending is key. Essays are tricky, but Unstuckstudy helped me prep effectively. Easy quizzes if you do the readings. Overall, a manageable GE if you stay engaged.
It's not a simple GE. It takes a lot of effort. Attendance was taken randomly throughout the semester, but participation was not really required. Exams are based on homework questions, and essays are roughly graded. His presentations are confusing. Grades until the last day of the semester and doesn't respond to emails. Good luck.
his course is awful. i didn't choose this professor, he was replaced with another professor i chose. his lectures are boring, his slides are unhelpful since they're all pictures, barely any text. his exams are crazy, 40 questions and a 2 page essay + 1 page short answer prompts, all in less than 2 hours. he treats his class like a writing class.
He is very chill. Everything for the class is lecturced based, but his lectures are good and he actually knows what he is talking about. He has a few online assignments and quizzes. The textbook is needed to access quizzes, but u don't need to read it. But he doesn't grade. Only 3 in person exams, multiple choice, short answer and half page written
This professor is incredibly nice and you could tell how much he loves what he's teaching. However, his lectures are no words and only pictures. We would never finish lecture and would hold us there for long. Nothing is graded with only 3 weeks left of semester. I have no clue what my grade is. Look for a different prof.
He's a super cool guy and has nice glasses
The professor is kind, but not effective. With finals starting next week, he still hasn't posted any grades on Canvas, leaving the entire class unsure of where they stand. His lectures consist mostly of images without any text, which makes it difficult to follow or learn the material. If given the option, I would choose a different professor.
Really cool guy and his lectures make sense as long as you follow along. It's just important to show up and take decent notes on what he's talking about. Tests always have pretty accurate study guides with them. Only downside is that he never puts in any grades so you're always in the dark on how well you're doing
He is a pretty chill dude as well as straight forward with what he expects from you in the class! He is lenient with his grading as long as you explain to him in person because he sometimes does not answer his emails lol. The tests are a lot of writing but he gives you the questions in advice so your prepared. Unable to see your own grade though :(
He does 1 quiz and hw assignment per week, 2 mid-terms (consisted of MCQs, 2 short answers, and one essay portion which is easier than it sounds), a Primary Source Analysis (2 pages long and your choice of the sources), the final was online (just another mid-term to be honest). Class is good as a study hall since its 3 hours long. Good professor
