Really nice teacher, but tests are tough. Make sure to take notes and read from the textbook. Watch out for pop quizzes. Does not curve, but there are some extra credit opportunities. Macro is hard in general, but he is easy to understand.

The best teacher I've had at JMU. He's fun and uses different techniques to convey the material. Yes the tests are hard but you learn so much. I would highly recommend Professor O'Roark.

Test are very hard unless you spend A LOT of time studying. A lot of information, but it is very straight forward. Teaches from his head, not from the book, and classes consist entirely of taking notes. Very nice guy overall.

Awesome teacher. Teaches from memory and not the book and keeps you really interested. Uses really good examples to get the point across and has a good sense of humor. You'll watch an episode or two of the Simpsons as well. Study lots for the tests.

He is a good talker but he is definitely VERY biased in his political views and so is his textbook. He often states opinion as fact, but whether you agree with him or not he likes you to pretty much just regurgitate what he lectured on for exams.not hard

i disagree with nearly everything about free market economics. still, i am getting an A in this class. he often only explains the "faults" in programs that he dislikes. it is frustrating to sit and copy his notes off the blackboard for an hour & 15 while he talks, but he is clear about the topics.

O'Roark is a good teacher, his class is interesting and I like the way it is taught. His tests are tricky though, and I tend to missunderstand some of the questions. All in all he is a good teacher and I enjoy his class.

Awesome teacher. Very intellegent, but ALSO knows how to teach - not just on of those geniuses that can't convey information. When writing papers DO NOT use conjunctions, you'll get burned. Really great class though. He makes it interesting.

GREAT instructor, very flexible and personable, assignments were thought-provoking but reasonable. I never thought I would enjoy economics, but he made the class very interesting and worthwhile. The course materials were excellent.

He is one of the best professors I have had yet in the JMU MBA program. The workload was fair and challenging, but he is an extremely fair grader. The final exam was surprisingly easy to take, but that comes from doing the problem sets each week.
