Great teacher! Very clear in his lectures and easy enough to get an A if you attend and participate. He's a very knowledgeable man. He's a very helpful person if you don't understand something and I would definitely take him again. Study for the tests also, but they're not too hard. Honestly a pleasure taking his class.

I absolutely loved his class. Going into the course i wasnt very interested but coming out of it ive learned alot. Dr. Pierson is very respectful, helpful and extremely clean in his lectures. If you attend class and take notes you wont have a problem passing his tests. You can only miss 3 classes an only has 3 tests. Attendance does count for point

Awesome Professor, pretty chill. Exams based on mostly powerpoint, but might ask a question or 2 from the book. Go to class because he doesn't post the powerpoints online, and also attendance is part of participation grade.He's the most passionate and helpful, youngest Anthro professors at Pierce. His test are multiple choice and very easy if you take good notes. I did not purchase the textbook for the class and got A's on the exams.

Lectures are important. Take good notes because his lectures are the majority of exams. Great personality and very helpful. Class is never dull. I didn't purchase the book and got an A. He doesn't take attandance but you shouldn't miss class because you will be lost.

However beware, if you take an evening course (like I did) he turns off all the lights to use the power points so you can't see to take notes. Pierson is one of the best professsors ive had at pierce! He does great lectures and keeps the class interesting. He is passionate about the class and cares for his students. There arent many test but they are all on lecture so you do have to show up to class! This teacher is an awesome one, you wont regret taking this class.

He is by far one of my favorite professors and makes learning very enjoyable. He takes role, so do go to class. There are only 3 tests which are all pretty straightforward from the class lectures. Also, you don't really need the textbook; everything is based on his lectures.

Class was not that difficult. Pierson made the class as easy and fun as possible while still learning. Very nice teacher who wants to see his students succeed. Learned so much yet it felt that I wasn't stressing as much as I would've with another teacher. Would recommend him to anybody. Great guy and great teacher!

Hands down one of my all time favorite professors. His class was 100% enjoyable and I always felt like I learned something new every day. Attendance is mandatory because most of the learning and work takes place within the class room, but attending isn't bothersome whatsoever because he's super enjoyable to be around. You do need to study to pass.

Very sweet man. We were graded on 3 test & participation. As long as you study you have nothing to worry about. Once the class is too full to add, email him immediately saying you want to take his class he'll put you on his wait list. The first 2 people that email him get in. No textbook required.

I took him for Honors Anthro 101 and it was probably the easiest class I have ever taken. The honors research paper is only 5 pages (no more no less) and the test based off his lecture slides, so study those the day before the test and you'll be fine. He is really funny and entertaining. Highly recommend him.

Prof. Pierson is hands down one of the most genuinely amazing professors at Pierce. He cares about the students and will never let anyone fall behind. Took him for 101 and will 100% be taking him for 118 and 119. Before you move on from Pierce you have to take at least one of his classes. You will thank me for it later.

Professor Pearson is one of the best professors I've taken class with at Pierce College. He's very helpful especially when you attend his office hours. I didn't do well on the first exam in Anthro. 101 because of my own lack of knowledge and was about to drop the class but he gave me hope as he also went through each question with me.

When I took him Spring 2016, the class to me was a review of 6th grade history then became 7th grade biology. He does list a textbook, but I never really used it because most of his stuff was on his lectures. When I took him, it was purely tests and a final, and that was it. Show up, take notes, take the tests. The guy is funny and the class is fun

Literally just show up, take notes, and read over them a couple times to prepare for exams (3). I'd read my notes 30 min before and get an A, but study for the final because the information was harder to grasp, at least for me. Gives participation points, which you get by not missing too much of lecture. Fun and has tons of energy even at 8 am.

The way his class is organized is very frustrating. He only lectures and his powerpoints are mainly pictures. His tests are based off of his lectures. He gives NO study guide and no basis as to what's on the test. So u either have to be the fastest note taker or record his lectures to listen to on your own time. But If u have all the notes, ur good

lectures, lectures, lectures. If you do not like a lecture-based class do not take this class. Only grades you off of 3 exams and that's it, so if you fail one test your grade is gone. You have to really work for an A and take really good notes and study them well or else you would not pass. Funny class, but sometimes I just wanted to fall asleep.

He is a nice professor! this class has 3 exams and every exam has 50 questions. be ready for hard reading make sure taking notes in class and also take your classmate's note. his questions are a little bit tricky.

Fall 2019. Best human that ever lived. Prepare to fall in love. Enroll NOW for ANY anthro. Sit at the front or you can't hear. Day 1 minute 1 he treats you like a best friend. Shares stories, but very professional. 118: Not for the faint of heart or mourning; lots of talk about decay, otherwise very fun! Pronounces coyote as kai-yote which is cute.

If you need a science requirement, I recommend this class. Professor Pierson is great at what he does and his lectures really help you understand. With that being said, you must take very good notes of lectures in order to get an A because tests are loaded with his lecture material. Definitely need good time management skills, take him!

He is literally my favorite professor. he is lecture heavy so be ready to watch and take notes. there are only three units and three exams(including the final). his lectures can be anywhere from 15-50 mins long but they are super interesting. hes also rlly nice. study a lot and TAKE HIS CLASS

Each lecture has either a follow-up quiz or a study question. There are 3 exams, you must pass them or your grade won't be good. Study your notes, watch his videos and you'll do fine.

Professor Pierson is an amazing professor and made this class interesting. His lectures are all online and easily accessible on Youtube. Class is not mandatory, but expect to watch the lectures outside of class if you are planning on missing the Zoom meetings. If you need Anthro take him!

Very energetic and good method of teaching. Class was a zoom call twice a week but there were only a few assignments due each week. Three tests in total. He has many interesting life stories and interacts well with students to make them share. You don't need your camera on but sometimes he might call on you to say something.

Enjoyed the class a lot, due dates for assignments are very flexible and as long as you pay attention in lectures you'll be fine on the exams. Had a pretty bad depressive episode and was still able to do well in the class so I'd say it's not super hard. Always very clear regarding assignments and he is very approachable regarding questions.

My favorite class this semester! His lectures are very interesting, the work is not overbearing, and you learn a lot. His in person classes are mainly discussion based based on the online lectures. Professor Pierson's ANTH101 class is a breeze - engaging lectures, easy tests, and barely any homework. Just take good notes and you're golden. Textbooks are optional, and Unstuck ai makes a great study companion alongside the material.

TAKE THIS CLASS! great content to learn, professor pierson is super laid back and chill, but also very caring and wants everyone to do well. took this class as honors though, so there was a research project, not too bad, can either do it alone or with a group but probably easier as a group. overall, amazing guy and would def recommend

Amazing professor took the short course for a month: easiest class of my life. Simple, straightforward quizzes based off his lecture videos which were engaging, entertaining, and informational all at once. TAKE HIM! You will not be disappointed. I do not have any critiques.

Genuinely loved taking his class!! I took an online course, so the textbook used was provided at no added cost, and the lectures were videos. I thought the videos were broken up well, none of the videos were excessively long and you can tell he is super passionate about Forensic Anthro which made it more fun. Grades based off quizzes and tests!

Professor Pierson is awesome. Our final was a project that was graded on whether you did it or not. He's great at teaching anthropology in a way that's understandable. Love his upside-down lecture style. As an honors class, this was even easier than some of my regular classes. Take him, he's worth it!
