great teacher for BStrat. He helps with the simulation part and has years of experience with it. you have to go to this class every day there is a simulation bc it is a group effort. there is not enough for him to go around so make sure you snag him during group time when you can!

Great teacher. Go to class and PARTICIPATE. Simulation tips: stay in all of the segments, position at ideal spot, price lower than market, keep change in cash at 10% of your projected sales. Those are the basics. Read the articles and the book, they are on the tests! Ask for help when you get confused, Brian is there to help!

Brian is the coolest guy i have ever met.Always listens to his students and does what he can to help them. You do need to pay attention to what he says and read the simulation manual! He is the person to see about simulation questions just understand his logic don't base your whole strategy off what he says.

Brian is an awesome teacher! Although he loves the simulation WAY more than his students do, his enthusiasm is contagious. Ask him for advice ALL THE TIME when you are doing the simulation. If you ask him intelligent questions, he will give you intelligent answers, and his guidance will help you DOMINATE the game since other groups will ignore him!

Nice and helpful professor. Tests were fairly straight forward. He usually would put a few questions on each test that were somewhat tricky. Gives random attendance quizes for points and homework is a completion grade not an accuracy grade.

He is really cool, laid back but want you todo your work, there is quiz everday but there are easy if you pay attention. He gives tones of extra credit and all test and quizes are open note and open book.

I suck at math, but the guy knows what he is talking about and got me to understand this class. his handwriting is poor, but you'll get used to it. His questions on the tests are tricky at times, but if you go to class and SI, it's a guaranteed pass.

He has tests every other week, which sounds like a lot (it is), but he breaks up the material so it's so much easier to get better grades and understand material. Go to class, trust me. This class wasn't too bad. The material builds so you need to make sure you understand all of it. Pullen is a great professor. He stops throughout the lectures to make sure everyone understands. The final is departmental so it's a bit harder than your normal tests. There are clickers at the end of class so you need to go. The class is points based.

EASILY the best professor for data. He genuinely cares about his students, is always easy to access, and is willing to talk and help you with actual feedback. I couldn't care less about the subject, but he tries to make lectures more fun to go to. His students always have the best scores on the dept. final, because he gives a "mini final" before.

Definitely the teacher to take for Data. If you took AP stats and did well, this class will be really easy. However, there are plenty of good students who struggle because it doesn't click. If you struggle, Pullen is more than happy to help. He is very approachable and easy to get help from. Tests are open note. Attendance is a part of your grade.

If you need to take Data in the summer, take it online w/ Pullen. I can't speak for his regular class, but this online one has been awesome. Super organized and understandable. The video lectures are very well done. I dropped Data last semester because I didn't get it, but Pullen makes it seem super easy. Lot of HW but worth it for a good teacher.

Mr. Pullen is one of the best professors I've ever had. I personally struggled through this class but visiting his office hours, staying after class, and emailing him questions really helped. He is willing to help any of his students. If you don't go to lecture, you won't pass.

Do not take his classes if you can't handle it when people repeat EVERYTHING and talk in circles. (Online course) Grades are based on watching EVERY video lecture and EVERY practice problem video and EVERY solution video, and he repeats himself literally every sentence. Every. One. Very knowledgeable, very nice, makes sure you learn the concepts.

Pullen is a GREAT professor. I took AP Stats in high school, so this class has been super easy for me. But he does a great job explaining the material. There are 6 exams and a final. For each exam you are allowed to have an 8 1/2 by 11 cheat sheet which is super helpful. The only downside is that there is homework due before every class (3/week).

Pullen is the best prof I have ever had. I am not the best when it comes to stats, but this class made me love it so much! Clickers are done every class, mostly just attendance checks though. There is a lot of homework but it is very helpful and he goes over it in class. The third test almost killed me but there are a lot of tests to make up for it

Don't bother reading the review below this. Most data teachers are not considered very good, but Pullen is a G. Everyone knows this guy is the best data teacher. Sometimes talks a little fast and handwriting is hard to read, but you get used to it. Really nice guy and plenty of office hours. Also, if you need honors credit, take honors data.

For the record, I took AP Statistics last year. If you did well in that, Data is a cakewalk. However, take Pullen anyway! Despite my lackluster attitude towards content I had already learned, he manages to make his class engaging and interesting. If you didn't take Stat, learn how to use a TI84- It's a godsend in this class.

Data is the type of class that makes you want to claw your eyes out. Pullen's lectures are just as frustrating to listen to. Lots of homework online, lots of videos to watch & follow up on, but if you do the work, you'll pass the class. Pullen is a great guy.

I am a senior and I took Data with Pullen freshman year and he is still one of my favorite professors I have ever had. He was always excited to teach at 7:30 am and he made things easy to understand - which I hear most data teachers dont. Pullen was a great professor. Took his course over the 5 week summer period and there was lots of homeworrk but he goes out of his way to make himself accessible for any questions and also puts up videos of practice problems to help you understand. Extra credit assignment, and allowed one cheat sheet per exam. Great guy.

Pullen is a great and funny professor, however I found the material to be very challenging. You have a total of 7 tests including the final, you have to go to class to do well. Not an easy A, and requires lots of effort and studying but is manageable

He knows what he is talking about and always tells you what is on the 6 exams including the final. I received a high B and most exams and a 98% on the final by studying the old finals he puts out. Highly recommend him and the homework is super easy.

Hes a really nice guyhe always tried to joke around and get to know the class. He structures class really well: we took notes during class then worked on problems as a class. The homework was exactly like what we went over during class. He tells you exactly what you need to study for exams and even goes over what should be on your cheat sheet.

Professor Pullen is a great instructor. He understands the material well and does a good job of explaining it. He can be a little quirky at times, but this helps make the class interesting. While there is lots of homework it is mostly a participation grade.

Very nice , will come up to you before class begins to see how you are and get to know you. I like how he cares about his students that way. Even if you fail every test you will most likely still end up with a C or B. Do all of the homeworks and clickers which is attendence based and you will get all of those points.

I really liked Professor Pullen when I had his WCOM 1033 intercession class (Data analysis). He started off by making our schedule very clear and easy. He took his time and went around the room to introduce himself and learn something new about you. He wants his students to succeed in his course.

Brian Pullen has been one of my favorite professors so far. There is homework in every class but you are given more than 1 day to complete and we usually work on the homework in class. Professor Pullen is always asking how his students are and is super nice and funny. He makes a difficult class easy to learn.

Professor Brian Pullen is extremely caring towards his student and wants to see them succeed. He is always available to meet outside of class to provide extra help. There is homework every class but you typically start it in class anyways. If you show up and do your homework you'll have cushion for tests. His high spirits make the class enjoyable.

If you take him for honors, there is an outside of class project that the other honors classes don't have to do. He also writes in cursive on a piece of paper instead of having slides. But he is a SUPER nice guy, and it shouldn't be to hard to get a good grade.

I would recommend Brian for data 100 times over again. Standup guy and continues to work with students along with being very available for office hours. He allows cheat sheets and you can make them both front and back. He does a great job with the review sessions and is very involved in the university. I can't say enough good things about him.

Great professor! Part of the reason I'm considering getting my second major in analytics. The exams can be a little overwhelming. But his teaching style is great, you get cheat sheets for the exams which are very helpful, and the homeworks are easy 100's. Just a really great guy, tries to make real connections with the students.

Professor Pullen is a great guy and he really seems to care about the well being of his students. While the lectures can be a little confusing at times, the material is not too hard to figure out yourself and you are allowed 2 cheat sheets on the exam. Lots of exams (4 + a final), but you get 2 pages front and back as a cheat sheet. He's helpful in office hours but loves to yap. Assumes you know AP stats, so it took extra effort for me. Tons of bonus points, and an A is doable if you try. Group project is fun but rough if your group sucks. Wish he had dumbed things down more.

The best professor!!! His teaching style is different than other professors but he makes Data easy to understand. You get full credit on all homework regardless of how you did & goes over it next class. I made a 40 on an exam and still got an A. Lots of grace in his class for mess ups. I recommend strongly! They are incredibly helpful and Pullen is a great professor to know. He's very knowledgeable not only about DATA, but also about a lot of other things in and around Walton.

I loved Mr. Pullen. He was a little confusing, especially when it came to tests. Just make sure you attend class and take very detailed notes, and you should be fine. If he tells you not to study something, STUDY IT. It will show up on the tests. He also gives cheat sheets for every test.

Professor Pullen is beyond a great professor and person! He makes lectures fun and honeslty interesting. I took the new way they taught data this semester and there was not calcutlations of the two exams we took but he taught a good amount of math in class and on the homeworks. Overall, this class is very easy. Wish I locked in more lowkey. Easy A.

Professor Pullen is one of the best professors I have ever had at UofA. He is extremely knowledgeable and cares about his students. Course change happened, so there are many opportunities to keep your A in the class. He is willing to help if you ask! Attendance is mandatory for learning catalytics but he gives you the answers at the end. Take him!!

The best Data Professor! He checks in with all of his students before class starts and is happy to answer any questions and explains things well. Attendance isn't mandatory but there is often credit for doing in class Learning Catalytics which he gives the answers for so you get all the points. There is lots of good in class prep for the exams too!
