he repeats himself a lot and can let students walk on him.
Very good teacher, makes material easy to understand and is always willing to take time to help you.
Brian is great teacher! He is helpful and quite knowledgable about what he teaches. He makes the information interesting. If you show up to class and listen to the info he covers, the class will be simple. Take Brian.
Good, easy teacher. Show up, takes notes, listen, turn in the few papers you have to do (which are EASY)and you'll get a good grade. Nice, clear teaching techniques, attempts to relate subject at hand to subjects/concepts familiar to students.
Brian's AWESOME! Class is super easy as long as you SHOW UP. He makes the class interesting, and makes you really pay more attention to the little things around you.Repeats himself, but hey, at least you dont forget anything!BE NICE TO THIS GUY! he really wants you to do well- dont walk all over him!
his class is sooo boring. All he does is lecture! You have to take notes the whole time and you have a quiz every week. His papers(3)are really easy, but his test are really hard! Last test one person got an A, 2 B's, 9 C's, 15 D's, and 16 F's! But he gave us all a 10% curve. But he's a nice guy
monotone boring! most ppl retain 7% of lecture, thats an overstatment for rienbold. if he would only do some real world activities rather than drone on all the time..
Mammatus! He is a great teacher. Show up to every class and you will have no problem getting a good grade. He explains things very well and you will be able to name off every cloud in the sky.

He loves to through out what he calls "tricky questions" which are ment to make you miss them. He doesn't like to give A's but hard studying will pay off for his class. He gives quizes weekly and homework is never! collected. Okay teacher overall.
Brian is very winded and does not prepare you for his exams. You must know all of the material inside and out just to pass his test. Expect quizes twice a week if you take lab, and midterms x2 the next day after a quiz. If you have the time and can devote every waking min to studies have fun in his class. He grades papers very harsh. Don't expect t
He is very inconsistent. Quiz every week, easy 5 points. Long, hard, and confusing tests. Follow along in the book for lecture, and ask questions. He isn't a very good teacher...

I thought Reinbold was a good teacher. For a physical science class and lab requirement, this is a great class to take. It doesnt require too much work, and the material is interesting if you get into it.
These classes can be tough but Brian is a good teacher. His tests are huge but he prepares you well. His lectures are clear and helpful. His papers are easy. The lab class is tough and will try your patience but it is do-able. Brian is laid-back and a nice guy. TAKE HIS CLASS!
The class is do-able, but pretty boring. He is one of those professors who is really smart but does not do a great job explaining things simply. The tests are hard, requiring a curve for the majority of the class to past. Take a different GE class if you can.
Very attentive to the needs of the students. Always willing to stay after class to answer questions. Sylabus is right on the money. Great visual instructor. Would definately recommend.
Overall a good teacher, very knowledgable, tests weren't that hard if you study, interesting class, lectures could get long.
COOL CAT, knows his stuff. No bullChit, thats what i love. great teaching style
He's a really nice guy, sometimes his lectures can get a little long, but he realizes that & gets back on track. You HAVE to be in class to stay aware of what's going on. He doesn't follow the book so much, more so for the syllabus. Tests are hard, papers are super easy. Have to do fairly well on quizzes too. I totally recommend him!
lecture notes not on quiz grades from inside his head not what he lectures
Tough class but really nice teacher~ really wants you to succeed, but you've got to do the work.
I used to be scared of math,- he made me fall in love with it! Now I am considering switching my major to structural engineering! He is the best math teacher ever!!! If you aren't lazy and show up - you can't help but learn!
He's super intelligent but forgets to keep in mind that weather is not that easy and simple for everyone. I took the intro w/ lab and I felt like i was studying for my life-long career. it was really intense, but interesting at times. Mid-term was hard. 18 F's out of the whole class. Lectures=long and in-depth. Stick with it and you can do it.
This class can be hard if you don't have some interest in Weather. He puts up excellent notes, good enough that you don't need the book to understand. Good teacher because he loves his job and cares about teaching it. High Recommendation for his class and he's a funny guy too.
I'm not taking the lab for this weather class and Right now and its a really hard D+. Expect to be dedicated, on a weekly basis. Quizes are from about 6-8 pages worth of notes. He will only tell you what one answer is on a quiz a week, and its usually complicated and not worth many points. Quizzes are guessing games, his tests have a study guid
nice guy the lectures are hard to sit through and i recomend taking this class early in the day, it is way too easy to leave early. The best part of the class was the last week and now the
Unfortunately this teacher is not only hard on you grade wise, but also he is emotional hard to handle. He jokes a lot, and when you're asking a serious question its really not that funny. I tried to get along with him, & study really hard for my tests. However I failed at both, miserably. He also thinks everyone is cheating all the time. Good Luck
The nicest guy ever! However, his class is really really hard! If you are willing to study a lot you will do well. Also if you ask him for help he is more than willing.
His class is HARD, however, all you have to do is turn in all the homework, show up to all the classes, and do the tests and you will be ok. Thats what I did and I got a "B".
Great teacher, but it's a hard subject. Never skip class. He'll write everything you need to know on the board. Memorize it and understand it, and you'll do great. If you don't get anything, ask! He will make sure you understand it. Easiest to take 50/51 together. My flashcards for this class at www.proprof.com. Look for Meteroloy today in "math/sc
Brian is very passionate about weather. Although this is a difficult class, if you study, read material, and dedicate yourself to your classes, then you will have no problem. Brian is more than willing to meet with students in and out of class to ensure they understand the material. The key is, don't take this class if you're lazy.
Easy class. He's really straight forward. Writes everything on the board you need to know. Very lenient on grading and allows for "bad days". Just show up and pay attention and it's easy to pass.
Brian is a dying breed of teachers who tell you exactly what you need to know for tests in lecture instead of making you figure it out on your own. Show up to class everyday and write down everything he writes on the board and you will do fine.
Stay away from this teacher at all costs. This class is boring, and you have to go to every class meeting or else you will likely fail. Brian never encourages class involvement and is apparently oblivious to the students' lack of understanding since so many people failed this class.
Class is not a breeze. VERY little homework, 2 short papers, 2 assngmts. uses weekly quizes on tues, and handing quiz's back on thurs as attendance. Quizes are difficult, and he is not lenient on their grade. Get the answer perfect. Tests TRICKY but he usually applies a curve. (10+ people failed each test, and maybe 0-4 A's after curve) Difficult
I feel bad leaving this comment since Brian seems like a nice guy, but this class was terrible. The worst class I've taken (I've taken 90 units). I'm a straight A student but barely got a B. It isn't that the info is hard, (I actually LIKE difficult classes!) but mid term is "out of left field". If most students get D's or F's, there's a problem.
This was one of the worst classes I have ever taken. I was there for every lecture and did all of the homework and studied my butt off and there were still numerous questions on the midterms and final on things I had never even heard of. It was definitely not an enjoyable class and I would not recommend it at all.
Do not take this class. He lectures on material that he doesn't even test you on and tests you on material you have never heard of. He doesn't really care about his student's success and would prefer to hear himself talk for the whole class time and more. Horrible class.
This class is insane! Brian is prob a nice guy but must think that everyone loves weather. Don't take it if you can avoid it, the final was insane, 2 midterms, its a terrible class. Its pretty bad when he has to curve every tests b/c over half failed it.
The grading in the class is based on exams which are 100 questions, and the tests are very confusing. Most of the students fail his exams, but he does curve them. His is a nice man and tries to help you as much as possible, but the class is difficult and you need to put a lot of effort in to the class to pass.
Worst teacher ever! Save yourself the trouble and avoid this class at all costs!!!
WOW! Everyone that say he is a bad teacher is CRAZY! Yes his class is very hard, but he is willing to go out of his way for help which is the definition of a good teacher!! TESTS HARRRRRD!! Study study and you can pass. I got a B so if i can do it you can to. He is also very nice and super patient.
This is the lab part of the course. You need to be at EVERY lab. I miss one just one lab and i was on the path of failing. Do good on the quizes they are worth most of your grade. Very helpful teacher!
Also took lab (psc51) with him. Super hard, but extremely worth it. Honestly, This is the hardest class I took at Butte College. I ended up with an A in lab, and a C in lecture. You can not miss class, especially lab, or you will most likely not pass. But you, or your parents, are paying for it so I recommend going... Great instructor. Field Trips!
His tests are hard. Do the homework religiously or you might not pass. Also, put aside a few days to study for the exams. They are hard and somewhat confusing. I did not like the textbook because it is so very detailed and hard to follow and full of information. The author most definitely breathes and lives weather. Instructor was good at teach
I recommend Mr. Reinbold. His labs are hard but he is thorough, fair and reasonable. You need to attend all labs because missing one will impact your grade.
Hard Class, but educational! Test are very difficult and require alot of studying, but there are only a few. Weekly homework and 2 essays. He is very helpful and has a study session around the test time.
This instructor is very organized and prepared. He is passionate about the subject and this makes the class more interesting. I would like to mention that Mr. Reinbold sets the expectation early and is consistent throughout the course. This is a very structured class, w/good attendance & notes an A is possible
Very interesting class, nice family man and knows what he's talking about. I really enjoyed the class. The tests are really hard so do ALL THE HOMEWORK!
Really difficult class. If you aren't interested in weather then I wouldn't recommend taking it. Took good notes, read the chapters, did all the homework, and still there were things on the exams I had never heard of. Good luck if you plan to take this course.
THE best learning experience of any I have ever had, Butte or elsewhere. Brian tells you the first day of class that he is "doing you a favor" with high standards and expectations and guess what??? When you finish a semester with Brian you KNOW how capable you really are. Butte is SO fortunate to have him on staff! Great guy!
Great teacher, who is passionate about what he teaches.
This is a hard class, but if u show up everyday, you will learn what you need for the test. Same goes for doing the homework. I would recommend taking the lab at the same time.
I really don't understand how people can write a negative review about him! You can tell he really wants his students to succeed. He is super helpful and the tests are pretty hard but he always gives a generous curve! Amazing teacher!
good teacher and knows a lot about his subject.
a softie, Hard working straightforward good natured teacher. delivers his lectures at a good pace, he's clear and engaging. Works well with the text so you are always in synch with the textbook. If you ask him a simple he will quickly give you a clear exact answer that ties the whole lecture together in just a few sentances-it's quite something.
Clear levelheaded fair patient. Excellent. Wish all teachers were this good at their job
Very difficult. I communicated with him and barely made a C (I'm normally an A and B student)because he is a nice man and very helpful. He wants you to pass, however he seems to take pride in teaching a challenging class.
go to class, take the notes, do the homework, study for the test and its an easy A. if you do the homework during class he answer pretty much all the questions. hes super nice and really enjoys what he teaches
Brian is a wonderful teacher who knows his subject well. He wants you to do well in his class and will do everything to help you pass. This is a science class and the tests are difficult but if you show up, pay attention and do the homework you will do fine.
Well structured class, with a clear passion for teaching the material. Clear, concise lectures and he gives you the exact notes you will need to pass his tests. Recommended.
Hardest Class! Not because of Mr. Reinbold! Meteorology is HARD! Mr. Reinbold is great. You will be prepared for test with his lectures. On his own time he arranges a study group before all test to help out his students. He cares about his students and you know it. Would like to have him as an instructor again.
Not very good at getting back to yo via email. Not in his office even when his office hours say he should be in there. For a general ed class, this is very difficult. Too difficult for general ed. Would never want him as a teacher again. Very confusing on the information.
Unless your a science lover, DONT take this class! I come to every class, Take great notes, and study but received my first F ever in my school career on his test and so 80% of the rest of the class. He has passion for what he teaches, but is way to hard on his students and expects everyone to eat sleep and drink science like he does.
As someone who usually can pass any class with at least a B, I can honestly say this class is tough. I failed, miserably, after hours of studying and doing EVERY SINGLE hw assignment. Class averages for tests are between 55 and 60%. They are extremely brutal. I would NEVER take his class again. He's very knowledgeable, but a horrible prof.
hard class, long lectures,
This guy knows his stuff and is very enthusiastic about the subject. Very interesting class, i learned a lot! Its not an easy A though. You need to do all of the hw and copy the notes down each class (bring a laptop, its easiest). if u study the notes and do the hw u should do fine on the tests. Definitely not a class you should skip!
Not a bad teacher, he just teaches a hard subject. Meteorology is a tough subject, especially at the college level. He really is there for you if you need it, but he expects you to take care of things. Nice guy but definitely don't take the class if you expect it to be an easy grade
Tough class. To get a good grade you must go to class, take good notes, study, and review your material. Brian will cover a lot of material in one lecture, so your notes will come in very handy. His tests are very specific; if you don't know the answer to 10 point question, you will lose 10% of your grade. He's passionate about Meteorology.
Great guy- super passionate about what he's teaching, and really good at explaining complex ideas in easier ways to understand. Gives great notes during lecture, so don't miss any class because the tests are pretty much straight from those notes. Take the class seriously and you'll have a great time. Would def recommend for your lab requirement
Took Brian's class Fall 2015. Super passionate about what he teaches, but definitely makes you work for your grade. Everything he puts on the board is essential for tests and quizzes, so don't miss class if you don't have to. Definitely NOT an easy A, but he is willing to help you get there.
Do not be fooled by this teacher. This guy gives out 80-100 question midterms and finals. It cavalierly goes through lecture but grades at an impossible standard. This class is a Butte class but he thinks he is teacher a masters program weather class. the information comes so quick that the retention is hard. not worth the time, terrible teacher.
I took Natural Hazards and Disasters with Reinbold. He is a great teacher, and cares about his students. His lectures show that he is passionate and knowledgeable on the topic, which makes it enjoyable. There are only 2 tests, final and midterm, but they require a lot of studying. Class isn't mandatory, but very important to go to for lecture/notes
One of the most challenging courses I've ever taken at Butte, but it was so rewarding! Reinbold is super passionate about weather and the atmosphere! His lectures are long, but are essential for achieveing passing grades on the midterm and final. Be prepared to work for your grade! I would recommend taking this instructor to my friends!
Great teacher! Exams can be difficult. If you put in effort, study cumulatively (don't cram the night before), and ask questions then you will do great. Lectures were extremely informative, so copy the notes and review them when it's test time. He is quick to answer questions and is willing to help his students understand this subject.
Do not take this class if you want an easy A. Brian makes you work so hard just to get a B. He gives exam study guides out less than a week before the exam and expects you to know the material in situational examples. Beware, his exams are notoriously long and difficult.
MR. Reinbold was absolutely the best teacher I have ever had. He is very personable and comedic. His passion and knowledge for the subject is inspirational and actually draws you in. I highly recommend taking this teacher for lab classes as well. He takes you on fun field trips. He truly cares for his students and makes college fun.
He teaches this class to death. The amount of notes and information should be paired down to a level that the normal person could retain. He gives out study guides, but on the tests the information required to pass is so broke down that you would have to be an actual meteorologist to do well. He also seemed to really enjoy people struggling
Mr. Reinbold is well organized and passionate about this work. He is a wealth of knowledge and his lectures are very informative. You HAVE to put in work though! Show up, take notes, do the homework, and study.... typical college stuff, right? He gave two tests and each test had 100 questions. They weren't easy so study WEEKS in advance.
Brian is a tough grader when it comes to the tests & they are hard if you try to wing it. You definitely cannot wing it in this class. Its either you pay attention and DONT skip class, or fail because his notes he gives are super clear. But if you actually dont put in work, you wont pass. Hes really informative though and understanding.
If you can take the lab with this class. I took this class once (about 5 years ago) and failed. The next year i retook it and also took the Lab. I got a B that time. He is a very friend teacher that is passionate about his subject.
Mr. Reinbold is very into the subject and does not take teaching it lightly. He takes what could be thought of as an easy class and makes it quite difficult. If you do not study religiously your midterm and final will be very challenging.
Very good and clear professor. Lots of material. Tests are crazy but he curves them greatly to help. Skip class and it will be hard to understand the tests even more.
Take the class! He have the class set up to be able to pass even if you if you get F's on the final and midterm. Just do all the H.w and EC and show up to class and do the paper. The paper is super easy. He is a kind professor and really cares about his students passing. Super chill class. The book isn't needed all the answers are online
Hardest class I've taken at Butte even compared to chem. Although caring and kind, his teaching/grading style makes it extremely difficult to excel in the class. If you take his course, take the lab the same semester. The lab is even more difficult. Homework is easy but study WEEKS before exams, the curve only helps so much. Don't skip class!
He was so helpful and actually cared how his students did. I have to assume the low scores people gave him are from people who didn't pass and barely tried. This class is not hard, just do the work.
I had a pretty easy time with this class online. There are a few discussions throughout the semester, and chapter homework due each week. If you keep up with the fill in notes he provides, you should be pretty set on tests. Theres one essay that ended up being like 4-5 pages for me and thats probably the hardest thing you have all semester.
All I can say is that I am beyond glad I took his class. Professor Reinbold has been one of the best professors I have taken a class for. With everything currently being online, he is quick with emails and gives updates frequently. He is always willing to help! I can go on and on but just know if you take his class you won't be disappointed.
Intro classes are supposed to be fun and make you interested in the subject, not make you cringe. The labs are over the top. The course isn't in plain English and concepts are explained using technical science jargon. Lots of busy work to the point where none of it is retainable for the big exams. If you don't like math, run. You have been warned.
I think everyone should take this class. It's about natural disasters and hazards. I learned lots of great information about keeping myself and others safe during an emergency. Make sure to really study the test prep, other than that it's a super easy class.
LOTS of unnecessary work. Labs are way over the top, lots of math, no help on labs. My friend and I took this online together and he got better grades than I did even though our answers were the same since we did it together. Midterm and Final are long, and with all the busy work I remembered nothing for them. BE SURE TO STUDY. Don't recommend...
Harder than you'd think, and only interesting material if you're really into weather. Brian is a nice guy though, very responsive, and grades fairly. Weekly lecture with notes (30-60 min), homework based on reading, and occasional discussion posts. Exams are based heavily on lecture notes.
This class was very difficult and time consuming for me. It was hard too because the lectures were a little bit dull.
This Professor is so kind and really cares about the students. You can tell how passionate he is about the topic- I definitely reccomend!
Brian is the absolute best! He is very passionate about teaching weather and is very communicative and kind to students. He is understanding and accommodative while doing a fantastic job at teaching the subject. Listening to lectures and completing the weekly Pearson assignments is the key to passing the class! Can't recommend his class enough.
This class was very light. There wasn't much to do and it was nice to have a relaxing class to get credit for. You would do the reading and answer short answer questions. My problem with it was that nothing was ever good enough I continuously got 4/5 on assignments. Therefore I got a B.
Challenging, but Prof. Reinbold is helpful. Attend lectures, do homework, and use resources like unstuckstudy for exam prep. The work is intense, but manageable if you stay on top of it.
His lectures make no sense and his comments just repeat what he said in the lecture. The modules are set up funky. Spends too much time explaining simple concepts on how to fill out the lab and not enough time on what it actually means. you think you're starting to understand it and then hit with a 4/10 and no real explanation. bad teaching.
