He is halarious and makes class interesting. Biology for MAajors is manageble but there is alot of homework. He gives test reviews and lots of handouts and constantly reminds you of when projects are due. I heard he is the best Bilogy teacher at K.C.C.

Dr.Brian knows every thing in Biology; he will not make you just like his class, but also fall in love with it. It's not likely that you may either understand or not, No! with him, whether you like it or not, you must understand his stuff. No wonder I got an A in his summer class. However,he cannot cheat for you, but only makes you understand.

scatterbrained, disorganized, entertaining. Lectures= amusing, labs= group activities. Gives "review sheets" for the test which makes up 1/2 the exam. It didnt seem like he tested over what he talked about in class. Never used the book. Dont bother buying the lab book either b/c you can just turn in a piece of paper for your write-up. TONS of HW!

Class is hard to understand how you get your grade. Gives 1/2 the test in review but besides that all ?s are like nothing you get in his lectures. He tries to teach practical applications of biology instead of technical. Ended up with good grade but don't know how I really got it.

I loved this guy. This is one of the only teachers that i actually looked forward to going to class for. Absolutely brilliant but shades it with humor. U can ask this guy anything and he'll be able to answer you with knowledge about the subject. Can't ever catch him off guard. Also grades with a huge curve so don't worry about bad test grades!

"Dr. S" is a very interesting teacher. Formerly, I did not have much interest in Biology, but Dr. S is very good at getting your attention. Word to the wise, try not to fall asleep during the boring videos, as he bluntly put it right before our first video. Do the labs, and you're all set! :-D

Dr. S is freaking hilarious. His class is never boring. He gives a test review that makes up 1/2 the test questions--for the rest just read the chapters & highlight key points. I look more at the book than the notes I take. Great class but I have NO IDEA where he gets his grades from--not the HW because I hardly turn anything in & have an A.

really like this teacher... His class was so easy as long as for the test you look at the review. The review makes up literally half of the test. Homework is turned in whenever you want, just make sure you do turn it in. Each test he updates you on your grade so far in the class. He is a little goofy sometimes but I would defiantly recommend him.

Can Biology for non majors get any easier? No it cannot! His class is entertaining, but he does give quite a few assignments, yet he is an easy grader. He gives you half of the exam to study, and the final is the reviews. I never learned how to say his name though.

Dr. S is a great teacher, the tests are not that difficult and you learn some really interesting and useful things in the class. If you are not a science major, I would seriously recommend this class. It was great! I'm in no way a science nerd either.

The first day you are overwhelmed but he explains things well and takes late work most the time...he says God can't pass his tests but it doesn't matter...he does so many things that it balences out.

Prof. S is SO NICE & HELPFUL! You don't even have to make A's but he'll help you get a good grade but you HAVE to try too. It does help to go to class and do the hand outs! I didn't study for one test but I did the labs and the articles and made an A!! Such a sweet class!

Summer session is fast but best - there is a lot of material in AP (and a little less in the summer). I would select classes based on his availabililty. He's great!

Took second summer session and it was fast but good. Very straight forward and has a passion for it all. U learn a lot from his personal knowledge. He gives awesome reviews and most of them have 1/4 test questions that are on test. If you get on SI good side u r in for an A if not then you better worry about your grade. She is VERY moody/rude!

There are quite a few assignments including at home labs, but all are easy and very manageable. The test reviews guarantee you an A on the test. If you are uncomfortable speaking in front of the class, reconsider. You have multiple group presentations. But this class is a guaranteed A.

I took his summer session, made an A. He made it so interesting and he was so helpful, he has a lot of passion for what he does.he gives you time to do your work, theres a lot of work to do but if u show up to class and pay attention to HIM you will for sure pass! Super easy class! Dr. S is crazy and hilarious and obviously super brilliant. All his test reviews are the actual tests, and he provides you with the answers. It is a lot of material to learn because of the subject matter but well worth it. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN! He provides study guides for exams which give you an outline on basically what to review.

Fairly interesting. Labs are a joke. He gives a decent review for the test. Where you learn the other half of the information is from the book. Read the book and study the reviews and you should do fine. An outside service project is required, however he gives very short notice for the date and if you work you are basically screwed for this.

Fantastic Teacher! He's funny and just very very down to earth! Tells jokes all class while teaching. Class can get boring. Mainly because it was 4 hours! TAKE HIM! Everything was easy except for the labs. I was lost but he worked with us to get them in.

I highly recommend taking this prof. for A&P. It was an easy A for me. Took for Summer I. He gives you test reviews with at least half the questions that are on the test. One paper assignment that is very easy. Labs out of manual that are due out of chapter and two test are practical. fill in blank. But very easy! If you study you will pass.

He's a pretty interesting guy. The class is super long and boring, but it's ridiculously easy. Only 3 tests and they're all take home tests. No quizzes, no papers and rarely any homework. You don't need the book. Like I said, it's just a boring class. It you're looking for a science class but you aren't a science major, this is the class for you.

This class has been by far one of the easiest classes I have taken so far. lots of lecturing a few case study's, group project, 3 take home test (these can take a few hours to do so be prepared) field trips to the nature trail, Group project, and an in class essay for the final (you get to bring you own notes). Show up to class turn in work easy A

Great guy knows what he's talking about, his lectures are very long. Test are fairly easy to comprehend, and so is the course work. His class is very relaxed yet educational. I would take this class again cause he's so cool.

Just took his summer course and it was great! lectures are very long and boring at times(alot of times) but he has a great personality. Test are takehome and could be easily found online and the book. Final exam was pretty easy he gave us questions to look up and we could make a cheat sheet for the exam. I enjoyed Dr. Shmaefsky's class. The only complaint that I have is that he did not have the assignments scheduled. You have to log on and check to see if he posted the assignments. He gives plenty of time to complete the assignments, I just need a schedule of assignments to follow and he did not provide one.

Dr. Shmaefsky is extremely interesting and is clearly passionate about what he is teaching. His class was easy; the tests we're online, and the in class assignments were always an easy read.

Dr. S is so funny always making references to help you learn the material. All lectures are available on YouTube and he provides reviews for the exams and lab practicals throughout the semester. Participation and attention to detail are important when it comes to due dates, but overall I would choose him as a prof any day!

However, when I took Dr. S in the summer Hybrid class I passed with an A!!!! The exams are just like the reviews and the essay is super easy. I would definitely take him again! Dr. S is a great professor! I took him for 2401 (Anatomy 1) during the summer. Even though this class was a hybrid it was relatively easy and if you study and do the reviews that he gives you it is the exact same as the exam. You will love him he is very informative and will say some funny things from time to time. Deff take him if you want an A.

I did not like the way this professor organized his class. The lectures were very confusing for me and I could never get in touch with the professor himself. The only way I was able to pass this class was studying the review word for word. And the tests were just the review copied, give or take a couple bonus questions.

Best. Professor. Ever. He is amazing with lectures and really has a way of putting the material in a way that is very easy to obtain and understand, not just remember. Very understanding and flexible when it comes to the student personal schedules. He even puts all material on his website, including the powerpoints used in class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Professor Shmaefsky was a very forgiving and easy grader, but you need to do the work. My only regret was not taking this class in person, because although the lectures were nice online, in person would have been better. Take him, you wont regret it!

I took DR.S for ENVR 1401 and will be taking his 1402 as well! He is a great prof! He honestly is the most simple teacher I have had in college. Work is super easy, he makes jokes all the time, and we took many "field trips" outside around campus to look at nature! Easy tests too! I highly recommend him! He is just such a sweet person and cares!

He is AMAZING! I had the opportunity to take him for Anatomy 1 which he doesnt normally teach but man was he awesome. His lectures are based on the PowerPoint slides. He will also give out study guides which help tremendously!! He trys to make lectures fun and he is a very sweet man. I would definitely take him again if I had the opportunity.

Taking this class online due to the pandemic that is going on, very awesome professor. the work is easy a.. all you gotta do is do labs, habitable planet assignments by watching the videos, just 3 exams and one final essay so he is very organized and a fast at grading your work. take this class or you will miss out the fun and the opportunity.

No textbook, VERY NICE AND EASY professor! He is an easy grader and test can be found online. Every week theres about 2 assignments, they're easy. Take him! 3 test and final. This class is fun and not stressful, professors like him are what we need more of, he knows his students work and have many classes so he doesn't give a heavy load of work!

By far my favorite professor that I've had at Lonestar. The online lectures are interesting and the lab assignments were fun and helped me understand the concepts in a deeper way. Dr Shmaefsky is a fast grader, very responsive to emails and really cares about his students and wants them to succeed. There is a lot of writing but doable.

Here is a professor that actually teaches you even if you are completely online. He really puts in so much effort to educate you - you aren't just left to teach the class to yourself. He is really knowledgeable and a great professor. He is caring, understanding, grades quickly, good feedback, and very helpful. Don't pass him up. He's the best.

I dont know how much I love Brian Shmaefsky professor. His classes is a amazing. I took ENVR1401 and 1402 at the same time, and this is one of the last classes I need to take before I graduate. I have a good time to study Brian Shmaefsky !!

Professor Shmaefsky is great at what he does, and provides relevant and interesting Material. He is available through email replies fast. He provides steady content, but the work load is not overwhelming and as long as you give yourself time to study and do assignments every few days, it is manageable. Even if you work a full job. Take his class.

Amazing professor overall and has clear criteria for each grading period. You are required to finish 2 lab assignments per Lecture and, in total, three final exams. Every lecture has a detailed video about the topic, and he will respond to you the same day. Very easy A+ grades and is a super friendly professor to have. (Taken on 1st Half of SUM24)

Professor S's class is a really fun, interesting, easy class, albeit with weekly assignments so be prepared for that. Something I found really great about Professor S, is that he is really passionate and caring about the subject he teaches WITHOUT being overly zealous about it. I strongly suggest taking this class.
