awesome instructor. really, really good class.

If you could handle sociology in High School, you could handle this course. He makes everything easy for you.

Very thorough and engaging professor. He repeatedly goes over important material and explains its relevance. There are no books, but he does reserve articles in the library for each section. Exams are written but he provides review materials & discussion.

he is one of the best teachers in this community college. he also hepls new students very much, including those from the middle east.

He's engaging, explains things well, encourages class discussions, and his tests are easy if you pay attention to his lectures. Great professor!

This guy is a great professor. He make the subject very fun. It is impossible not to pay attention in his class. Hes very relaxed and isn't one of the professors who will be on your case. I would highly reccomend taking him.

I have no idea why everyone thinks this guy is so great. This class was a huge disappointment for me. I found his lectures boring and his tests hard. I recommend everyone take HARVELL instead!!!

Awesome teacher

Brian is a great teacher. If you don't think he's great, you did not go to class and pay attention. I took his 131 class and was so impressed that I took his 152 class just for fun, it was not required for graduation. He is so cool that I added him to my email address book just to keep in touch.

I think Prof. Smith is a good teacher. His lectures are very clear and he promotes class participation. He doesn't just talk he interacts with everyone. I would recommend him to anyone. His tests are tricky, but all you have to do is study the study guide he gives and you will pass.

Mr. Smith is a really cool teacher. His class is really easy. All you have to do is go to class, actually listen and copy his notes from the bored. It's very common sense and he's a really nice teacher.. Just don't talk in class or use your cell phone.. He'll take away points.. But I still got an easy A.. :)

Good teacher. Most of the test questions come right from the book. Pay attention and study the definations and you'll be okay.

he is a really grat teacher! his test are so easy. all you have is come 2 class EVERYDAY, get the notes which he writes on the broad, and study them. only downfall is there are 10 surprise quizzes, but they are extremely easy as long as u at least pay attention in class. book isnt necessary.

After reading the comments, I guess that taking him in class is a lot better then taking his course on-line. I did not enjoy this class at all which really suprised me. The topics were interesting but his tests were stressful. I don't feel that he gave you enough time to finish them without rushing through each question.

Best class ever. I love Sociology. I took this class online. This professor is excellent, I wish I had taken it in school/class but either way I learned alot. You will not be disappointed if you take this teacher. The book we had for this class was also very helpful.

Took his class online and I'm getting an easy A so far. Just make sure to be honest with yourself before taking an online class, it requires self discipline and motivation. Without this you will fail; he is very strict on his deadlines. Just read the book, study from the guide and you will be ok. Homework was easy, the tests were harder.

I took this class online, and thought it was kind of a difficult class. Mr. Smith is kind of a hard grader in my opinion. There were a total of 6 assignments that were to be 900 words each so a total of 3 pages for each assignment. There were 4 exams and a discussion board pretty much every week.

The lectures weren't all that. But easy class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you don't show up you will miss a chunk of information and some of the assignments/pop quizzes he give out some days. Study the study guides, the notes he writes on the board, pay attention.. & You will be fine :)

He was a nice guy, but I found half of the class dead because the lectures were boring. He is easy(not a blow off) but showing up is mandatory.

Easy A! I took his class online, alot of reading which I expected since there were no lectures. Hard to judge personality since I've never met him but he seemed pretty laidback, very helpful if you needed it. Easy and precise instructions for assignments. I'm actually going to be taking a second sociology class with him in the Fall.

Professor Brian is the man!! Big AROD/Packers fan! You will enjoy attending his class. If your going to take sociology stop your search this is definitely the guy to take. HIGHLY recommended any of his classes.

This was a great online class. I had no troubles in it at all! All diections were clearly stated and he always had positive remarks to give! I would highly recommend his class.

Mr.Brian was a great teacher I received a A and to get an A you just have to show up listen take good notes and study he gives study guides way before the test so you can prepare for it in time. Overall he is a great teacher and I wish it was more like him!!!

Highly recommended. I had him for Sociology and he was a cool easy going teacher who shows concern for his students to succeed. His class was a BLAST and his tests were okay. Took lots of notes and did reviews which were very very helpful for the Tests. Got an A..not an on-line class.

I loved this teacher it was my first semester in college and everything was so clear and easy to follow. I took the class online so I didn't get to know him personally but he was very helpful. I havent been in school since 05 and this was a great start!! I got an A and their was many extra credit opportunities to improve your grade.

HE IS AWESOME! He really connects with his students. makes funny jokes and is not harsh or serious at all! always happy and gives you all the notes, if you just pay attention it will be a breeze. only 10 assignments in class SIMPLE AND EASY. and 5 exams 60 questions multiple choice class is fun.

His test are sometimes difficult but overall he's good. Id take him again :)

He is a very good teacher:) in his class u have four exams no midterm or final. You must buy the book because half of the exams are from the book. You also get ten worksheet in class they r very easy.

Brian smith is literally my favorite person, he's so helpful and kind. He's kind of like a dad. Pretty funny too. I'd definitely take him again if I could. He makes coming to class worth it

Not sure who these 5 bozos are who posted just before me, but Mr. Smith was a great teacher and a nice guy, the class was very straightforward: lectures, 4 tests, all with great study guides, plus 10 easy short answer in-class assignments. Handle your business, and you'll get an A+ like me

Brian is an outstanding teacher. He has a good sense of humor and makes the course very enjoyable. There are 4 test and 12 assignments. The assignments are fairly simple, and most are done in class. The 2 lowest grades are dropped. The 4 test are multiple choice and a study guide is given. Notes+text+study A

One week left of class, and so far have 100%. He gives so many extra credit opportunities, you just have to be a hard working student. He is funny, and I really enjoy going to class. The textbook is also awesome reading material. Exceptional teacher. Would take him again, I don't know who these other people are talking about.

Professor Smith is a great teacher. He's very straight forward with his lectures and as long as you read the chapters the tests are on and do the study guides you'll pass. He is very good with responding to emails in a timely matter and worked with me when i missed a few lectures due to an illness and was very understanding!

Professor Smith is an outstanding teacher. he gives you clear criteria in terms of grading , several opportunities for extra credit and is always accessible when you need him. I toll two classes with him and i would still take more if the opportunity presented it self . the work you need to do is clear and no surprises with him.

Took this class online, it was so simple and organized. There are forums you need to post every Thursday and reply to two others, posting it before the deadline you get extra credit. You have 3 assignments where you answer six questions each 150 word response, if you turn in early you get 10 extra credit points. And 4 easy exams

This class was 100% online and he didn't have any unrealistic expectations. The amount of work he gives is fair and there are LOTS of opportunities for extra credit. Just read what he says to read and watch the videos, you'll do fine.

Brian Smith is an incredible teacher. He loves his job & it shows. He will do whatever he can to help you do well in his class. He is thorough and organized. Lessons are interesting and funny. Homework really gets you into your own head and thinking about bigger issues. Best teacher ever. Anyone who says otherwise is either a slacker or a fool.

Professor Smith is very good for an online class and I would definitely take him again. He gives out tons of extra credit and sends out emails every week outlining what is due and everything. Very fair as far as grading.

I would recommend taking him. He's a fair grader and offers extra credit with every assignment. Read the chapters and you'll pass the tests. Fair amount of assignments. Sends out weekly emails with what he expects that week.

Mr. Smith was amazing. When I registered for this class I honestly didnt know what to expect. It turned out to be the easiest and most fun class I took that semester. The lectures were all clear and all the chapters were very well explained. Mr. Smith is also a funny guy. I would definitely recommend him.

Professor Smith is an amazing online instructor. Work is broken up into 4 week sections. You have 2 discussion posts, 1 assignment, and then an exam for every section. He offers extra credit on every assignment so as long as you do the work on time, you'll get an A. Very knowledgeable and provides many resources for information. Highly recommend!

While Sociology isn't my favorite subject, Mr. Smith made the class excellent. I took his class online and couldn't recommend it more. Very clear expectations set at all times. Work was given in four week segments: two discussion boards, an assignment, and a quiz. Extra credit opportunities on all discussions and assignments. Tests were always easy

The fact that extra credit is given when assignments are turned in on time is a plus to this class. He responds to emails within a day. Work was easy. Expectations were very clear. Easy to navigate this online class. Would very much recommend!

Online classes are tough for me, but I found that this class was pretty easy. He offers tons of extra credit with just about every assignment and discussion board. The class was very easy to follow and keep up with.

I liked him. The assignments weren't hard, but he is a tough grader very tedious. But he offers so much extra credit that you are guaranteed an A. If you don't receive an A in his class you worked really hard to get less. It is IMPOSSIBLE not to get an A.

Best professor I have ever had. Take full advantage of the extra credit he offers, it helps you out if you don't do so well on one of his exams, got well over a 100 percent in that class. Just do the forum postings and assignments early, you'll be golden.

Professor Smith is amazing. He sends weekly reminders of what needs to be done, and its manageable. He had a few tests, assignments, and several discussion boards. I missed a test and was still able to get an A because I took advantage of the extra credit. You DO have to read, but the material is interesting and its not too much at one time.

A funny professor and a good one as well. He cares about his students and knows how to keep you interested and focused on his powerpoints. His powerpoints are the tests and they are very easy. Just study and the extra credit on his journal assignments help so much.

I wouldn't say the attendance is non-mandatory since there are in class assignments you cant make up, but I was lazy last semester and skipped a few times (maybe a little more) and still passed. Always has extra credit opportunities and tries to relate topics to our personal lives to help us understand them more. He's a really awesome dude.

This is one of the easiest class ever. For his journals, simply follow the guidelines, and turn it in early and you will get 10 points extra credit. But, you have to attend his lectures to pass. His lectures are always interesting, funny, and he is very nice.

He is one of the best teachers I had. I love sociology because of him. His class was very easy to navigate, he did not give you an overwhelming amount of homework, and there was more than enough time in between assignments for you to pass. If you take him and you don't get an A, you tried hard not to.

I took this class online and it won't overload you with Hw and the professor gives great and thorough feedback and you can tell he cares. I loved his topics for all the discussion boards they were all very interesting and apply to real life. there were many extra credit opportunities just submit your work early.

Hes an amazing professor! I was in class every day and for the tests all I would do is look over my notes, and I never got anything less than a 90% on his tests! He gives in class papers, so if youre gone you cant make them up. However he does these journals and if you turn it in early you get extra credit. Overall an amazing teacher!!

Dr. Smith was by far the best professor I have had. He keeps his classes entertaining while learning a tough subject. Math has never been easy for me, but he will work with you as long as you show that you care about your grade.

I heavily recommend that you take this professor. He gives amazing and organized lectures that you can take notes on. I also loved it when he made connections between the lesson and his own personal experiences and examples during the lectures. He assigns classwork, journals, and tests. If you turn in your journals early, you get extra credit.

This is the second time Ive taken Dr. Smith for sociology, and he is one of the best professors Ive ever had! His assignments and lectures are easy to understand and complete. He always gives extra credit on assignments. Take him and you wont regret it!

The classwork is not difficult, comprehending what you read is a big part of this class and he gives ALOT of reading material, but it is NOT hard to understand. His test are average, the lowest grade I had was a B. All test are multiple choice. He doesnt hold hands, he does not micro-manage. Take this class.

Great Prof. Only has 4 tests including the final. He gives extra credit on almost every assignment for turning them in early. Would be a very easy course to get an A if you just do the assignments and turn them in early for extra credit.

This class was my favorite! You can tell the professor puts an effort to teach. He writes his own lectures and is very clear on what to study. Professor Smith was a great professor, he makes assignments relatable by connecting them with real life examples, including some of his own. The tests are very similar to the concepts learned in the lesson, just make sure to read what he posts and do the assignments, youll pass the class. You have so much time for everything. Extra credit available for everything if you turn it in early. Very easy, you get a good grade as long as you do the work! Great professor.

For people who are consistent and able to read or binge read, this class will be rather easy. there is a lot of work that will be assigned, but you will always be given a long period to do that work, so don't be lazy. Be consistent, write logical answers that are based on the text provided to you, and submit things early for the extra credit.

I loved everything about this class, the way he is organized, the lessons he explains, and the way he explains them. you would be surprised to love the things you're reading. He would give extra credit for assignments but of course, you have to earn it. The professor is very amazing I would take this class again

So easy to get extra credit and the information is somewhat easy to get a grasp on, sometimes the long lectures get boring but you can tell he tries his hardest to engage/get people to engage. If you study for 15 minutes every day for a week and are somewhat decent in writing, you'll pass.

I had Sociology online with Professor Smith and he is one of my favorite professors that I have had. You must do a bit of reading on the assignments, but he gives a fair amount and the readings are interesting. He leaves good feed back on assignments, he is fair when it comes to grading, and I personally found this class enjoyable!

Was an easy A, loved his layout and passed with over 100% for doing bare minimum. Offers EC for all assignments and gives thorough explanation for missed points. Overall great professor and easy class, but also learned interesting sociology topics. :)

He's a great professor, and for literally every assignment he gives extra credit. He's kind of strict on the way you write though. You really have to do your own work, because he is serious about cheating. He gives Assignments that are 1000 words. And the forums each are 200 words but you have to reply to two people with 100 word responses.

if you want to take socio 131, take this professor. very light course and you will get a good grade easily. Bring a notebook to write notes. his exams are very easy. the papers are easy but will ask you to write based on your own life experiences. I'm private so I kinda freak out lol. not detailed tho. you can lie wink wink. jk. he is a nice prof.

His class was one of the first I took here and I would love to take one of his classes again. All you really do in class is take notes (kinda alot) and the occasional group assignment that takes 15 minutes. Each exam left me confused at how easy it was If this is your first semester in college, I highly recommend his breeze of a course :)

He didn't assign any video lectures to watch, only assigned viewing of material that he provided except in the few times where we used the book which you can find online. His discussion boards and assignments are very easy if you just do the reading and videos.

I loved this class, I learned a lot and he made it enjoyable. I recommend just doing everything, there are three big main assignments and discussion forms are important for our participation grades. Also, do not use AI in this class.

This class is easy as long as you stay on top of things, the assignments can be tedious at times but it isn't that hard if you put in a good amount of effort he gives genuine feedback on every assignment and has good response time.

This professor makes a dry subject engaging. Go to class, take notes, and you'll breeze through the exams. Unstuck study was a helpful tool for reviewing key concepts.

He makes it impossible for you to fail! But seriously, as long as you come to class you will 100% pass . Some exam questions are based on what he talks in class so just be aware of attendance. He gives out plenty extra credit there's a limit but still. This definitely saved me. He gives great feedback. You'll learn a lot as well. It's interesting!

Professor Smith is very clear with what you will be tested on. He goes over the material thoroughly and checks in with students to make sure they have a grasp on the concept. Please take this man if you ever need one of his classes, he is genuinely the best teacher I've ever had. He is really nice, and he cares about everyone. Basically every class is a lecture or a small group assignment, but it's simple and he knows how to communicate well.

Don't listen to any other person taking this class, this is the easiest class I've ever taken. There was a total of 3 assignments 8 forums and 4 easy tests. As long as you do your work on time and don't cheat you'll pass
