Really good instructor.

Brian was one of the best teachers I have ever had. If you read the text book, and follow his notes, you will do great. Tests are a little hard, but his lectures are very good and he gives lots of examples to help clarify law

Good teacher, but requires you write allot of detail for his tests. Tests arent bad though.... if you study his notes and go to class you are guarenteed a B and if you study his notes a B+.

One of the Best! He makes Law interesting and you leave class actually knowing things about the law. He's VERY NICE and KIND. The best part is how he always has a smile on his face. Gorgeous smile!

I took him for blaw.. i swear to god this guy is the best teacher he doesn't hand out notes but if you take them all down during class..u will for sure ace the class.. lke seriously you dont have to read the text his notes are soo clear whatever you dont understand just go back to the text toclarify

One of the best teachers i ever had. Gives notes in class and tests directly from them. If you attend and pay attention you barely need to study. I got 93% without trying. He turns a tough class into a GPA booster. He rocks.

Brian's class was something to look forward to each week. he's one of the few teachers that your sure to remember for years. you can tell that he loves what he does and that he genuinely wants to help you learn and do well.

Brian is a great guy! He really loves his job and cares about the students. Its nice to have a teacher that actually cares about his students. Good course outline, his tests are fair, but they arent easy. He is a picky marker. But if you attend class, you will do good. Lots of notes to take, but well worth it! Wish more teachers were like him!

the course its self isn't the easiest but he helps you alot, his notes are great and hes very good at explaning his answers to questions. He keeps the class interesting and i'm really hoping its teaching business law 2 in the fall

Best teacher I've ever had, he makes the course really easy and if u ever need help jus ask, he'll explain it till u understand. Tests are pretty easy, just aslong as you take notes and read the chapter atleast once. Exams were easier then I thought. Homework is done in groups, no homework at all after mid term..Great teacher, notes, easy exams.

He's a nice guy. Exams r pretty much out of his notes, straight forward, but just sometimes a lot to memorize if one's not a logical person. He's caring, over-caring sometimes, but generally he wants u to do good. His notes r pretty organize but have to write fast coz he goes through them really fast. Hard marker on term project tho so be careful~

Brian is a very good teacher..he cares about his students!! =D.. his notes were clear.. he also has a good sense of humour ^^.. his exams were pretty tough.. but u will do fine if u study and attend his lectures... anyway, he is a fair amrker.. he rocks!! (o^^o)v

I have not come across a teacher who likes his job and students as much as Brian does. He is very professional and a caring human being. His class is very fun and extremely interesting. Brian makes the learning process much easier through his great teaching style. Consider your self lucky if you get him as a teacher.

This is an A++++++ instructor! Cares about his students, very clear on the lecture, tell you what to expect and need to know on exams. Interesting lecture and indeed, learnt a great deal from him.

First of all, dont listen to the review below mine. Who complains that a teacher is "too nice", a pushover? If hes so nice and a pushover, dont take advantage him. Brian is a passionate, caring teacher, who loves teaching and loves his students. It's very rare you find a teacher like him. Brain's the best, take him and enjoy him!

A very enjoyable class. Appropriate ancedotes that compliment current issues in the class. Overall a wonderful class. Anyone who has or will take his class should consider themselves lucky.

Brian is an awesome person and an awesome teacher. He is a kid at heart and absolutely loves his job. This is not an easy class if ur lazy, but its not hard if u study. Brian is a great teacher who really does care about his students. I could never say anything negative about Brian, except 90% of the class marks come from tests :(

OK teacher, missed half the classes and still made it out with a C+, but if you want to get a decent mark go to class, he adds his own ideas to the textbook so you'll miss stuff if you dont show. Nice guy, cares about his students. THANKS FOR THE DOUGHNUTS ON THE MORNING OF FINALS MR SUGG!

i love Brian. every time i look at him and think wow, he does care about me. he's so smart and experienced about life. he gives you good advice for your future business career. always read before you sign.

He is the best teacher that I have had. I really enjoyed studing law in his class can you belive it enjoy studing law!!!. He is prefect.if you want to take the course don't wait.

brian is a great teacher! i would really consider taking one of his classes just for the hell of it. he doesnt let his outside life get in the way of his great teaching. hes vey understanding and fair. by far one of my most favourite teachers since kindergarten!

This class isn't too hard if you do all the assignments and readings but it is easy to fail if you don't do those two things. He marks you for attendance for 10% of your grade so make sure you go to every class! His tests aren't too hard if you are prepared and he doesn't like meaty explainations, this guy really loves his job and loves to help!

brian is probably the best professor ive had so far. he makes his classes interesting, relates to real life issues to help his studetns understand, and he cares about how his students do and it shows through his teaching. awesome teacher

This course just flew by~ I will miss going go his classes. Never liked law, took it cuz it was mandatory, but I'm really glad I did. Brian actually made me like law! He cares about the students, and he even remembers me outside of class! Tests are structured so if you did bad in beg, can still pull up w/ final =) Wish I can take Law 2 w/ him too.

Great Prof. Has great stories to tell and keeps you interested. Lots of infomation and concepts to learn though. At times he can go very fast through the notes.

Boring class, too nice

First of all, this is an extremley difficult class you will spend a lot of time working on it. Brian is a great teacher he has good stories and he's funny when hes not trying to be. he seems like a pushover because he seems very meek. he is very helpful if you need it. hes very polite and he was even a lawyer but he wanted to teach (makes less $)

Very friendly, since he has so much experience being a lawyer and has traveled he keeps class interesting by telling stories relating back to class material. He is very knowledgeable enjoys having students engage in discussions relating own experiences to the class. A lot of vocabulary to take in, not an easy course but Brian is always ready2help

Absolutely the best instru. to take for busn law. He is so helpful and interesting. I am not into Law but he made the class fun. Best instructor I have had so far! If you can TAKE HIM!

Amazing human being, really loves teaching and he remembers all his students by name after the second week ! Class is tough and has a lot of material but he does a good job covering it and provides great examples. Tests are honestly fair, no trick questions, he tells you the outline prior. Note: class mark breakdown is 95% exams !!

Brian makes his class to be really interesting, you can listen to him for hours. Always happy, willing to help with anything even if its not about his course. However really hard marker. Almost imposible to get an A, only some people got a B. if you take his class be ready to do a lot of studying.

My perception about this course was completely changed after taking Brian class. The law seem so straightforward,practical and comprehensive. He said it's the beauty of law. This class is amazing with Brian. Hands down one of the best instructors I've had at Douglas. His assignments aren't worth much but are very helpful for the tests. This class is not an easy one but the way Brian explains it makes it easy to understand. Show up to class, read the text and his examples and you'll be fine.

He is a really nice guy and he wants you to do well. The courses material is just difficult but I think that's expected with any law class.

Brian is a great teacher. He makes the course work easy to understand while providing excellent real life examples. He inspires you to do better and wants you to do good. Go to class, listen, do the group assignments and youll do great in the class.

My favourite prof so far at Douglas, Brian was excellent. His lectures are great and he has great examples, really gets the class involved. If you are not paying attention he will use your name in an example to get you interested. Tests are tough, but subject wise that is fair. He will mark fairly. Group work a little annoying but wasn't terrible.

Business law courses are difficult. With that being said, Brain breaks down the concepts so you can easily follow the content. He is always willing to answer questions and help you out. His exams are difficult but very fair, he will never try to trick you. Highly recommend reading the textbook and asking for clarification from Brian.

He is by far my favourite instructor in Douglas. I took his class on Saturdays and surprisingly, I never got bored. I always look forward to coming to class because of the interesting nature of the subject, and also an amazing prof. Got an A on his class even though he'll tell you that C is a pretty high grade for him.

10 years after graduating, he stands out as BY FAR my all time favourite. Classes entertaining with his sense of humour. He taught well enough that 10 years after graduating, I recall the stuff from his course well enough to beat a lawyer representing myself as a plaintiff. Recall his course far better than every other course. Don't know why.

Took BLAW 1320 with him and explains course concepts extremely well. His exams are pretty straight forward because they're identical to assignments, which he goes over and explains clearly. Super approachable and always there to help if you're confused. Highly recommend him because he makes this tough course easier!!

I don't think BLAW3710 translates well to online. He expressed having to scrap activities/exercises that would be done in the classroom. He is a very tough marker, even to the last exam I was unsure what info he wanted and didn't want. When we went over exams he seemed to contradict himself from question to question. I'd take him again in-person.

Mr. Sugg's lectures are so good and interesting you can tell he has a passion for Law. It was the first time I was actually having fun at any lecture. Tests are a little hard, you really have to know your stuff but the more tests you take the more you grasp how he grades.

Brian is one of the best profs I've had. He cares about his students and is passionate about his job. He gets excited when students do well and took the time to memorize all of our names in the first few weeks. He expressed his excitement for former students reaching out to him when they used what they learned to pursue small legal battles. 10/10

Brain is an amazing prof, really kind and cares for his students, remember our names on the second day which is really surprising! His lectures are interesting and he makes complicated concepts easier. But his exams are a bit difficult and hard to get a really good grade unless you do very well. Apart from that, he is a solid and most engaging prof

Even though Brian is a tough marker and the class average was low, he is extremely caring and empathetic. His lectures and knowledge on Canadian law makes up for his tough grading and makes the class enjoyable. However, your wording and explanation on exams have to be exact and accurate, otherwise you will receive partial marks.
