this teacher was one of the worst I have ever had since entering college. He is very unapproachable and he mutters and stutters throughout the class. He doesn't go into depth into any of the history and leaves out way to much that should be there.
the easiest class ever.
This is the easiest class ever if you dont mind writing papers. The papers dont even have to be that good just as long as you follow directions he will give you an A or B.
VERY VERY EASY!! His papers may seem overwhelming, but as long as you do follow instructions its NOT! he always seems to give very high grades ony As and Bs. He can be very helpful too if you ask for it. Very lenient too!!
hard to understand, a pain in the butt, weekly papers and presentations that arent bad, very strict on rules
his lectures are sometimes confusing (i never missed a class) he grades unfairly, however if you do it his way (which is sort of weird) you'll get a decent enough grade, i would honestly say he's probably one of the worst profs i had (i got an ok grade though).
Horrible, the worst teacher I've ever had. He stuters, mumbles and speaks with an accent. Bad all around, I was one of the intelligent students and I got a B, his grading is very unreasonable.
He was one of my worst all time teachers. Along with giving incorrect information he grades like he's on crack. You can never understand him and he is really dull. This was my worst class by far!!!
If you make the effort to pay attention and write decent papers, you'll find his class one of the best for a nervous freshman or sophomore. He's really helpful and tries to make his lessons apply to you. History classes can be overwhelming but I'd recommend Dr. Thompson's to anyone. Great teacher.
Ok, this was soo not a hard class, for all you complaining about a bad grade and his grading method, put a lid on it. you know you asked for it. how could you NOT have gotten an A. He is dull and boring and annoying but this class was a piece of cake. just show up for class
i took his class my freshman year & got an "a" in the class WITHOUT ever owning or reading the textbook. i admit, it was hard to speak to him for extra help. he seemed uninterested w/ any interaction w/ the students, but...come to class, pay attention, take notes, & write the paper & you'll do fine.

Reading past comments, I think his grading has changed, class is SO easy. Just go to class. 2 papers and 2 tests. The tests r essays u get to prepare 4 ahead of time. Don't bother taking notes, just sit there. U might wanna buy the book to prepare 4 tests, or don't, just check it out from the library. Overall: boring & obnoxious but SOOOO easy!
I had Dr. Thompsom for both HIstory 110 A & 110B.and I saw two different personality. I received a better grade in History 110B. Very boring teacher, but grading are very fair. Take this teacher if you just want to pass the class.

everything he writes just copy it down. theres not much to ask about if you take good notes. its an easy class if you stay awake.

Very bad professor. His speaking is unclear, he doesn't know what hes talking about. All he does is read his books and create and outline and basically reads it for lecture. Lots of movies. Easy class to pass if thats all youre looking for. Midterm is paper and final is blue book but he gives you prompts ahead of time.
Grumpy teacher, unapproachable, but pretty easy! take home midterm which u juz use his lectures to answer, and he'll give you a decent grade (i got a b and did it literally 2 hrs befor turning it in).a crappy essay and final. he getz cranky if u come late a lot and are absent a lot. overall a easy grader but VERY BORING LECTURES
omg.. hes so boring and monotone! this guy stutters like crazy to. he passes around a sign up sheet everyday.. if you come in late he gets mad and draws a line after all the names so he knows whos late. its an easy class, but its hard to stay awake in.

Boring teacher. His lectures are posted on blackbroad so there's no reason to take notes during class. The midterm is a take home paper and the final consist of a in-class essay. But overall, easy class.
okay. yes. he is SUPER easy. take home midterm. in class essay final. but omg. hes so dumb. i asked him countless questions about history throughout the semester & he couldnt answer most. hes also incredibley boring. he reads directly off his powerpoints, which he uploads way before class. sadly you HAVE to go to class because he counts attendance.
This professor was absolutely hideous. It was an easy class, but mandatory attendance and a 2nd required $80 book of which we only used 2 chapters to write a paper when we could have just used the library for free was insane. Even though I got 95s and above on every single assignment and test, I got a B because of absences. Don't take this class.

he is not hard its an easy class to pass
As much as I hate putting down teachers' teaching skills I have to do it..Mr.Thompsons is WEAK. He's a nice man and all and his class is easy but I wanted to fall asleep every single time. We watch interesting films but other than that take it for an easy A.
Professor Thompson is a very kind, friendly, and funny teacher. Tests are take home and short answer; final is written but he gives you the topic ahead of time--no multiple choice. Simple and easy, so I did not pay too much attention during class.
Prof. Thompson means well its just he jumps around from one area in hist to another that is completely different making his class sometimes hard to follow. Other than that his class is okay once you get the hang of it. You get to watch videos, have take home exams, and 1 term paper.Overall his class is pretty easy though. Loves class participation.

An EASY CLASS with Dr Thompson. No weekly HW!The only readings necessary are selected chapters for the essay midterm and finals.
This professor is absolutely annoying, his mannorisms drive me bonkers, he's a terrible teacher, he jumps from one topic to the next. His grading is unfair at times. He uses people in the class as examples, which end up being completely useless. I am pretty sure he has OCD, he is constantly adjusting his paper/water bottle/ phone. ANNOYING!!!!
super easy! tests are really easy, you can use your notes. term paper is annoying but really easy i did the whole thing the night before and got an A on it! he is kinda weird, and at times the class is super boring. but i suck at history and i got an A without trying. take him if you want an easy A

This class is a painfully easy A. The lectures arent very informative. He just repeats things like "politics" and "religion" and writes them on the board for no apparent reason! Dont get me wrong, Thompson means well and seems like a nice person but he is just not meant to teach!
The most ANNOYING teacher I have ever had in my entire life. Going to class is painful, but mandatory. His mannerisms drive me crazy, and he says "mmkay" like the teacher from South Park. I endured the torture, and I suppose it was okay because the work involved for the class was minimal.
A very easy class, VERY! attendance is mandetory because he gives a rollsheet every day! but can have someone sign you in! SOOOO BORINGG! and the way he teaches is just funny, not the best teacher but okay if you want an A!The work is easy, and gives out take home test which is awesome!but received a good grade without trrying to hard
His class was extremely boring; I would usually play on my phone or study for another class. His exams were easy- they were take home essay type tests. You don't need the exact textbook but you do need a textbook to pass. Take him if you want an A, but not if you want to learn.
His slideshows are very confusing as well as his instructions, class is super boring!!! but its an easy class, his quizes are take home and easy as pie, class attendance is not mandatory because he has a list where you can have a friend sign you in, and on his final you can use a cheat sheet =]
This class was boringggg. I messed around with my ipod playing plants versus zombies the majority of the time. Take home exams need to be thorough and mandatory attendance. Easy "A"
I am glad I took him cause there was no homework and all the test were take home. Take him if you are taking other classes that are more time consuming.
You will not learn anything! Assignment are easy: take home test and term paper on book, final is written but you get cheat sht. Don't turn in you term paper or exams into the Hist Dept office, they lost mine and the reason I got a C+. Ruined my GPA! He does try to be fair and worked something out with me so I didn't fail and lose my Financial Aid.

He's really such a sweet guy. The class is easy and he allows us to use cheat sheets on our final. Only time consuming part of the class would be the 10 page mid-term, but it's fairly simple, since you're just summarizing chapters. People thought this class was boring but I didn't find it so. But I understand people would be bored because its easy.

Definitely one of the easiest teachers you will ever have. Every test is a take home exam, 2 page paper max. Grades incredibly easy. Term paper is 7 pages of some irrelevant book, but still incredibly easy. Easy A, but checks attendance and is pretty boring
I will admit the class is boring and I've wanted to fall asleep at times. But,Dr. Thompson is a nice (and odd) professor. The only book you NEED to buy is the one for the term paper. Honestly, class wouldn't be BORING if people actually talked and stopped complaining in class. There's 2 TAKE-HOME exams, 1 Term paper, & a in class final.

Brian Thompson, is the most BORING professor I have ever had, although he is worth enduring for the easy A. Take home tests, one paper, and an easy final. The only work requiring much much effort is the paper because it has to be 10-12 pages, but it's just summaries of certain chapters in the textbook. Other than that, EASY A

Super easy class!! I definitely recommend! You don't need to buy the textbook or even show up to the class. All exams are take home, the final is in class, but he lets you choose a topic and bring notes. Two easy papers. He also understands that you actually have a life and offers grace periods on assignments. Easy class!
This is an easy A class if you actually do your research and write. There are take home exams, those are very easy if you just write the importance of the topics he gives you. His two written Essays where you need 10+ pages is really the only thing time consuming in his class. He does have extra credit.
This teacher is a nice guy but terrible teacher. It doesn't matter though because he doesn't quiz you on any of the material he teaches. It's all take home essays that you research on the internet. It's an easy A if you do the tests.
Super easy class. His lectures are random and pretty pointless. He gives 2 term papers that are ridiculously long but that makes up alot of your overall grade. I turned one of them in a week late and still gave me an A on the paper so easy A. No textbook either.

This dude is extremely easy to pass his class. For my class we had a total of 5 assignments, and the final was a quiz. the 2 big assignments are the 10 page writing papers you have to do, and need the books for. His lectures are extremely boring, put me to sleep at least twice, and he gets irritated if you eat or do other assignments in his class.
He emphasizes things like women's history or minority history when he can. He's also very soft spoken, so sometimes students can't hear him. He seems like a nice guy.
Pretty easy class. He lectures for the entire class on stuff you don't even need to pass. Books are essential to the class so get them. Class consists of 4 quizzes two pages each (super easy) and a midterm and final ranging from 10-12 pages (time consuming). He's a weird dude and grades pretty tough. USE MLA OR HE WILL FLIP OUT
Very easy class and grades easy as well. He does pick people to give their thoughts on journals we read and videos we watch in class. He is very laid back and will help you if you need it. Highly recommended for history majors looking to learn the history of Africa.
Thompson is a nice guy, but his lectures are kind of boring. I know he means best, so it wasn't all that bad. You have one take home midterm (paper), two big papers, and one in class final (paper). SUPER easy. I literally skipped class for 3 weeks straight and got an A+. Take him!

long lectures, many boring but some were interesting. His take home tests were great, it emphasized on you focusing on something that he went over in class and writing about it which helped me remember these facts better. Would take again. His long papers had to be written in Chicago style so be somewhat familiar of format to get good grade
No exams. He assigns 2 long essays (around 10 pages each) that take forever but is doable and 2-3 take home exams (gives you a list of topics, pick 2, and you basically just write a couple of paragraphs each).

Dr. Thompson can be unnecessarily sassy, rude, and BORING. However, if you want an easy A earned from 0 reading, 1 take-home exam, 2 5-page papers, and 1 in-class final, just take him. Easy A. Participation matters for brownie points, which helps when he is grading your work. Both exams are the same format: 2-3 paragraphs for 2 topics covered.
He assigned 2 papers and a final, which is an in class paper. No exams, just papers and they aren't long and he is very helpful if you have any questions. His lectures are boring, but it is worth the A. I dislike history but I highly recommend taking him for history 110A and 110B as well.
Thompson is the worst lecturer ever. He has the most monotone voice and just boring overall. The class is very easy to get an A in. Tests are take home tests and the final an essay as well however you get a page of notes to use. If you want an EASY A take!
Great, funny teacher who cares for students. 2 paper (5-10 pgs) and a final (lets you use card). If you take his once a week class, beware, attendance is taken (but gives you a long break :) ) Textbook isn't ness. , just share with people around you. Lectures are interesting, and no need to take notes; listen and relax.
Attendance mandatory but lecture in class is not needed to get an A. 3 papers and a final. Prompts are easy. I only got points knocked down for not citing enough or misreading some directions. Make sure to ask qs in class about format because he can be confusing. He makes lectures personal and gets annoying with his political beliefs. Easy A though

Professor Thompson is a very nice and genuine person. As a professor, Thompson can be extremely boring. The class consists of only 2 term papers (5 pages each), 1 essay exam, and a final. All of which are almost guaranteed A's as long as you know how to write a clearly structured essay. Lectures are very boring but attendance is mandatory.
He is a very caring professor. He says he likes to help people out and wants to change the healthcare industry. I think he should become CEO of a healthcare insurance company
