Laid back professor, does not follow traditional teaching methods, and gets you to think in reality, and not just read the text book. Likes to debate about current events!

OK, here's the deal, Very nice man. Really makes a point to know you and listen to you(most prof. don't care). You do use the textbook, but you also have to use your knowledge about whats going on in the world around you. He really tries to spark your interest in politics. Sometimes you don't even know that's what he's doing. Great professor!

Dr. White is an awesome teacher. I took him for both Government classes. He has a different way of teaching. Focusing maingly on current events. If you talk in his class he will love you. You don't need a book. Do the assignments and reviews for test and its an easy A. He is awesome!

Teaches unlike any other prof. I've ever had. The book is only used when you look up things for the reviews. His mission is to make college age people realize that government REALLY does affect their daily lives. Awesome teacher. I'm definitely taking him for my other govt credit. Projects very simple and straightforward. Not your typical drone!

This class is different! He loves to see students contribute to class discussions and he likes to put government in a relevant, current perspective. There are few assignments but the outlined directions are CRITICAL to your grade. If you can stick to them you will be fine. It is important to not just be a body in the room, be engaged in discussion!

Dr. White is awesome! I had my doubts at first...but he grew on me. He is funny, clear, and knowss his stuff. Nothing really everrr comes from the book. he bases lectures off "today".and thats whats really on tests. besides...he gives a study guide. honesly, show up just to go. you wont regret it! I actually asked him if he teaches history! no :(

Professor White was an eccentric teacher He rarely uses the text book, and when he did, it was only reference during a classroom discussion. He strongly encourages classroom participation, and will force everybody to talk. There were only 3 tests, and 2 projects. Other than that, there were know assignments. He actually cares about his students

I would highly recommend this professor, but only if you're willing to participate. He really wants to hear what you think and is respectful of differing opinions. The exams are easy, but you can't just know the definition of the words on the review, you have to know the mechanics behind them. Take advantage of extra credit, participate, and study.

He's a cool guy, pretty serious early on but he tends to loosen up a little in time. His mannerisms are fantastic, and he really wants student input. Tests are easy, only a couple assignments, taking notes in class helps. He likes to follow up on students and really just wants you to succeed, in his class and in life.

He is such a GREAT teacher! He is super fun and easy! He LOVES saying "CLASS" in two days he sad it 407 times.. I hated the idea of taking government but I really enjoyed it!

GREAT PROFESSOR! Highly recommend his class. At first he seems very intimadating but then he shows his fun side. Cares a lot about his students and goes the extra mile to express Govnt & politics. I'm cant wait to take his class again for 2302!

Dr. White is interested in his class knowing what's going on in local, federal, and state government, hence the current events. It's important to him that everyone understands that there are two sides to everything. He really cares about his students being informed on the ISSUES. And is very helpful. I'd recommend his class.

Prof White is an alright guy. Took him for maymester and the class was actually pretty fun. We did talk alot about current events but his assignments were beneficial to students and looks out for their interests as well. I'd Recommend him for Govt. No book is really needed.

Dr White is a great government professor. He is very involved in current events and teachers off of slide that are from the book required for class. He wants participation. That is government. All the bad ratings must be from people who didn?t get a good grade because they sat quietly while he asked for opinions and discussion.

Walking down the hall I heard someone say that they need to take Govt. Me and 3 others said at same time, "Take Prof White!" Great teacher. While I was there. I wondered, "What am I learning?" But I learned a lot.It was great. Classic line, "Class. Listen to him/her class." You write a scholarship essay for a purpose. It benefits YOU. Take WHITE!

I enjoyed Dr White's last semester and am now taking another. He uses current events to teach Government topics from the book. Emphasizes on asking questions and thinking for your self. We didn't use the book much, but the book is very dry. Thorough review of each test ensures a passing grade if you study it.

if you can, take him during the summer sessions.. he gives you an actual copy of the test to memorize. one of the questions was "Do cows sleep standing up" you learn a decent amount but its seriously the most easy A you can get.

Excellent professor... definitely wants you to stay updated on current events and wants you to actively participate in class. He really does care about his students and is very interested in learning about who they are. As long as you show up, takes notes, do the assignments and STUDY you should be fine!!

Took this Prof twice, got 2 A's. Dr. White helped spark my interest in federal litigation. Class is focused on how politics affect our lives. Projects require active research on current state and federal races. Very relevant. I was expecting a facts and figures government class but I got exciting discussions and a new view of other students.

Dr.white's class is always interesting! As long as you show up to class, participate, do the projects(like he specifies) and do the test reviews, you should pass the class! He likes for everyone to speak out in class so if your shy don't take Dr.White! Great Class!

THIS WAS A GREAT CLASS. THE GROUP DISCUSSIONS WERE ON CURRENT EVENTS FROM THE NEWSPAPER. IT KEEPS YOU UP TO DATE ON ELECTIONS. THE GROUP PRESENTATION WAS THE BEST PART FOR ME. Dr. White is very helpful. I took him for two semesters and I got an A both semesters. Do the projects, study a little, and watch the news a little bit. Very nice and fun.

Dr. White is really nice professor. He's smart and passionate about govt. He encourages his students to strive for the best and informs his students of the daily issues that are happening in our govt. I learned alot. I applied for scholarships. He always gives a test review which is very helpful. There are a few times he has given pop quizzes. He always brings in newspaper articles to read that are about current and interesting topics.

Dr. White is excited about teaching and helping students get the the most of their time in class. He rewards punctual attendance with early pop quiz's and provides reviews for tests. Lectures are interactive.

I was a shy girl in the back, everyone says talk but if he sees you are keeping eye contact with him, he considers that participation. Pay attention, he is really fun. Loved his class!! Great Professor overall. Even if I was not a Political Science major I would have still enjoyed his course. Attendance is not mandatory, however it will help a lot if you do go to class. He has 2 assignments and 3 exams all semester, that includes the final. I recommend anyone take him if they need their hours.

Dr. White is by far the best professor I have ever had. His class is great, he makes sure everyone participates and loves what he does. I never talked in his class but yet every time I see him around he comes up to me and asks how I'm doing and shakes my hand. He's a great example of how not only to be a professor but a human being.

He is great, funny and exciting. Class was really easy. The hardest part was sitting threw the awful debates of other students that simply loved to hear themselves speak. He allowed the same students to talk the entire period every meeting. The amount of profanity that was allowed during debates was absolutely despicable.

Don't google his test reviews, he uses current news articles and the book. The people he talks about are prominent govt figures. If you show interest in him or his class he will return the favor. His class can be very boring but it can also be very interesting. Just put in hard work.

By far the best teacher at NEIU. Brian makes the class fun, interesting and is very helpful. He cares about his students success. I have taken English 101, 102 and am currently enrolled in his world fiction class this semester, really looking forward to it. If you need to fulfill your humanities requirement u highly recommend this class.

Dr. White is an amazing professor. He seems hard at first, but you learn his style quickly. He truly cares about his students success. Tests are hard, but participation in class and other assignments balance the grade. I took him for both U.S. and Texas government. He is by far my favorite teacher.

Absolutely amazing!! I had Dr. White for the summer and he's pretty laid back. He assigns us into groups and makes us write the reviews for the exams and he uses those reviews and basically writes Exam over it. I would definitely take this class again if I could.

He says you need the book etcetera but you do not. He goes over slides and tells you what to write down. He gives you review sheets and two classes to work on the, .Test are easy and if you talk in class and give feedback you will not fail. He added an extra 10 points to my 68 on a test because I spoke up during class. He is very clear and funny!

I took Professor White for Federal and Texas Government. Very easy to make an A. Gives very straightforward test reviews. Lets you grade your own test. Gives extra credit if you speak up in class, state your opinion on something, or if you ask to read your test review notes to the class. Very dry sense of humor, but actually a funny guy.

Great teacher! Not a tough grader. If your class cares, he will let you make test questions for all exams if the class participates. He likes to use quizlet so make one as a class. Coolest guy ever!!!!!

I really enjoyed the learning environment. While we learned about textbook Texas Government, we also learned about the women who help shape Texas. This information was not found in our textbook. In addition he was passionate about teaching us things that would stay with us beyond our college years. Very caring, positive and encouraging instructor.

Dr. White really cares about what students think. He also loves the Dallas morning news so make sure you read everyday. He also has very easy assignments that basically help students to get a good score grade in his class. He also made gov really fun. I recommend taking him to learn and get a easy grade.

Take this class if you like class discussions. Sure we discussed Texas government and went through a power point each day, but the class talked more than the instructor. He values everyone's opinion and is very politically neutral. Take his class if you want a fun and friendly environment, and an outlet to express your opinions!

I took Dr. White for Texas Government last summer and will be taking him again this summer for Federal Government. His class is just a participation grade, easy 100 as long as you do the scholarship essay and follow the guidelines! Professor White was a joy to learn from. He made his grading criteria very clear and was open to altering grades if a compelling reason was given. He was extremely caring and wanted us to actually learn about government rather than practice rote memorization. Take his class; you won't regret it!

Almost all the grades in the class were from online quizzes with no due date for any of them. He goes over the quiz in class before you have to do it, so we virtually have all the answers. Other than that there are two easy projects, and he grades them easy. Very easy A. But All lessons are taught through power point. He is not the most exciting.

Dr. White likes to hear everyone's input on the topic he's speaking about. Doesn't really stay on topic a lot, but keeps things interesting. Participate and speak in class and this will be an easy A. BE CAREFUL with missing class, quizzes were weighted extremely high and no retakes. Would've got an A+ had I not missed 1 quiz. Dropped grade 20 pts.

Fun class!! Easiest A ever. We had 3 pop quizzes. Midterm and Final taken in class, he went through it with us, easy 100. Only had one assignment which was to apply for a scholarship. However, you must attend class otherwise you will not have the notes you need for the Pop quizzes (which are weighted highly since there are not many assignments).

Super duper easy class. Without any exaggeration I can say that my brother in middle school can also get an A in this class. The HARDEST part of this class is waking up early in the morning. Honestly, if you don't get an A in the class, you truly need to reevaluate yourself.

Doctor White is a pretty cool guy. The textbook was online along with all the quizzes, midterm, and the final. The only things that were not online was a scholarship essay and a debate presentation.

easy A. quizzes are on your notes, mid term and final you do on the computer at home, and the only other grade is a scholarship you pick and write why you should receive. easy grader and class is power points and law/view point discussions.

EASY U don't have to show up to class, but I've attended all of them. like 3 pop quizzes on your notes, like 3-4 questions long, completion grade. Then there is a scholarship you apply for, and a debate you do(easy just pros and cons on your topic)Midterm was reviewed in class (he went over all the answers) pulled out my laptop and got a 100.

This class is SO easy. He gives you the answers to the tests. You really do not need to attend class EXCEPT for the fact that during the semester he will give the class 3 quizzes at random. So if you skip class the day there was a quiz, you will get a zero for that.

This class is soooo easy. He literally gave us the answers for our midterm we took like whaaat ?! there are 3 random quizzes he gives out so you cant really skip but he lets us use our notes for the quizzes so its not hard. the powerpoints are all online and I dont think he takes attendance

I took Dr. White for both 2305 and 2306. He is not a normal boring government teacher, he really tries to make bring current events into class. He also is very interested in everyone's story. He loves when people participate and if you don't, he WILL call on you to speak. I also got TWO scholarships because of his projects in class!

He is literally the best professor I've ever taken. If you don't get an A in this class, you might need to rethink college. It is by far the easiest A ever. He will make you talk though so if you're shy, get ready. Other than that, he is amazing take him if you want an easy A

I took him for government as a eight week class. He is an amazing grader. I passed with a 100%. He does require students to discuss in class but thats about it. He gives the answers to the test as well. Definitely would take again!

Brian White is by far the best teacher I've had. He has PowerPoints that he goes through and will ask students to bring up gov related topics have us talk about it. He is unbias and wants his students to do well in the class. Has pop quizzes over notes sometimes but they're easy, exams will be the easiest exam of your life.

WOW! I have never had a professor so laid back. All he ask is that you participate in class. 3 grades...2 exams and 1 assignment. He makes class fun. I cant think of a single reason you cant get an A in his class.

KINGKING! The most laid-back prof I've ever taken. Class isn't mandatory. There are very few assignments such as an 1100 word scholarship essay, around 10 quizzes, and 2 exams. Besides the essay, everything is due by the end of the semester. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE ESSAY HE GRADES EASY. I took gov 1&2 w him and got a 100 in his class both semesters

I loved this class, there was one tough assignment but it's the only one for the whole semester. Theres lots of quizzes but the reviews are god-sent. If you show up and participate you'll get an A.

Professor White was outstanding! He was funny, gave awesome lectures, and was a fairly easy grader, who doesnt require much from us. We have one big assignment this semester and just small summary quizzes on certain chapters, thats basically it. Im not saying dont show up and do nothing, but just take notes and youll easily ace the quizzes!

Easy A. Weird guy but literally the easiest class. He just talks about the news so I stoped showing up after the 3rd class ( I made a 100%). Clear grading and all assignments online. Very very easy. Dont need textbook

Dr White makes the class engaging and encourages participation and critical thinking. He does not push any political agendas or opinions, he simply opens the conversation in alignment with the lecture content. His classes are easy if you attend regularly and do your quizzes. I have taken 2 courses with Dr. White and I wholeheartedly recommend him!

Now his lectures were so boring and literally had nothing to do with government but it's so easy, all the quizzes were online and he gave the answers before each one. There's one paper but you get it at the beginning of the semester and it's due at the midterm and he also gives the answers for the midterm.

This was honestly the easiest class I have ever taken in my life. You don't need to read or study or do any work for the class really. He gives answers to all of his quizzes/tests including midterm/final. Only real work in the class is a scholarship project that you have to write an essay for, but he gives 100's for it if you just do it.

Doctor White is very clear on what he requires in order for you to pass his class. He does let you know at the beginning of the semester of the work he expects to be completed by the end of the semester so if you do not pass, that is your own doing. He is very easy to talk to, has great humor and attendance is not mandatory either.

Dr. White is a very understanding and practical professor. He aims to teach government through discussion rather than a textbook. Attendance isn't mandatory and the answers to all the material is online but I often went to lecture despite this because his lectures were entertaining to sit through. I was a dual credit student taking his class at the Collin campus. Extremely easy with only a few quizzes due at the end of the semester. Beware of "Assignment 1", a 1200 word mandatory paper for a scholarship due halfway through. Still wouldn't take him again because he refers to everyone as "class" and often calls people out if they're too quiet

Dr. White is an excellent prof. He usually goes over the quizzes before they're due, you need the textbook to access them, though. He also brought in people to talk about scholarships and career advice. Very informative lessons that may be off-topic, but I really liked him trying to help us out.
