He's funny and fun to have in his class.

nice guy; VERY funny

He's a really funny guy (and really cute). He does a great job keeping the class entertained. Many take this great sense of humor for granted and gets shocked when they realize what a tough grader he really is.

He is a nice guy but a bit on the weird side. He pulled a knife out in class once....still don't know why. If you take him and you talk once...you will pass.

Brian is a great teacher. He has the ability to communicate well with his students. Very funny and enjoys his job.

He's knowledgable, down-to-earth and a great professor. Why can't they all be like him?

This professor is very great in teaching English 102 but he seems like a laid-back professor but he does make sure that the students should work hard to make him feel proud.

from day one he was really cool. didnt really learn anything new. the papers were easy if you like to write. you dont have to worry about voicing your opinion. GO LANE TECH!!!!!!!!

Lives in his father's shadow. Horrible teacher, didn't learn anything new. And if you have a quesiton after class, good luck playing Find Brian! I could never find him during his office hours. Taking his class is a waste of time.

his class is easy,alot of writing,little reading,a bit humorous but not a serious class.I was a little disappointed a few times because i did expect to have discussions or something but we would have conversations about nothing & it was usually the same people talking over him,leading the class..not him. they just talked over him, it was annoying.

Very laid back teacher. Spend most time in class talking about nothing. Class discuss readings, journal entries that you read to the class, and short essays that others review. Easy class. Follow the syllabus. Actually read the stories. BUT sometimes he gives a couple **** comments and swears alot. Still fun. Laugh alot.

He is really a COOL GUY but at the same time he is really ODD..You will sit there and just laugh at him most of the time. He always talks about his girlfriend and how he rides a bike everywhere he goes. Be Prepared! He is a very ODD person!! But he is VERY LAID BACK! take this class

He was easy. Don't expect to do much in his class except laugh. He's a very down to earth kind of guy. This is what college is all about, work when you have to otherwise sit back and just hang out when you don't. Highly recommend, I'm planning to take his 102 course next fall.

Class was totally fun, the type where you end up learning things without really realizing it.

My only warning is this: Don't get too comfortable with him. Yes he is laid back and fun but he does not pick favorites and will not let you sly when it comes to grades. He is a cool guy but I won't take him again. He is almost so easy that you don't learn anything.. He is easy to try to take advantage of but then you fail. Don't let him fool you.

This guy is in need of a new wardrobe and a brain stem. I think his academic background is a work of fiction. Class was nothing but poor interpretations of literature with no relevant insight. If I wanted to participate in low brow discussions on music and movies I could have gone to Starbucks and saved myself $500.00.

Brian White is one of the most approachable, affable and knowledgeable adjuncts at NEIU. He is incredibly fair, and has more than reasonable expectations of college students. If you can read a work and analyze it meaningfully, then you will do well with him. He will introduce you to important works and explain them in a relevant and effective way.

class was a breeze, easy to follow, and a fun diversion from the more hard core classes, while still offering a good forum for discussion and thought

World of Fiction. Basically, read a short story, discuss it in class. Included a few movies. Like most classes if you work at it you can get an A. Yes, he goes off on tangents but for an introductory class it made the work a bit more relaxed. I did get something out of his class and he certainly knows the material. The requirements are realistic.

Wof Fic,most of the class is cool and is really easy to read the stories and talk about themin class, but when it comes to papers, is very critical on your interpretation of things. I didn't like his grading too much but I still passed. I would recommend but make sure to pass your paper by him twice before handing it in I guess once isn't enough

He is clever and funny. I think alot of people may think him to be odd but I think he was pretty nice and laid back. I enjoyed his class!

It's interesting to note that most of the people writing poor reviews of Professor White have the worst grammar...He was a good teacher, a little strange but I really enjoyed his World of Lit class. I think most people who CAN READ read would enjoy this course...unfortunately, not a lot of readers out there.

If you didn't like the way he taught, that is most likely because you didn't do well. If you didn't do well in Whites class... you're dumb. Whites class is always entertaining

Mr. White is an average instructor. He often goes on tangents about his personal life, and is fully aware of it. Well, nobody's perfect. He's very laid back, but don't let it fool you! He is a difficult grader on papers, very picky about writing errors. He was much better than the Eng. instructor I dropped last semester.

Brian White is an awesome teacher! He definitely goes on tangents at least 75% of the time .. but he's super funny, approachable if you need help and if you do your work and go to class you'll get a good grade! :)

Easily the best english teacher at NEIU. notice all the bad reviews are from people with broken english. if you can speak english, you will get an A in this class. Too bad he doesnt teach more classes

Mr. White is the best teacher ever. He will let you know what he expects and will mark every mistake on your paper, but that is how everyone learns for next time. Overall he is an awesome teacher.

Fun and different!

Great class! He wasn't an especially difficult grader, I thought, but there were a lot of C papers. He's clever and concise and I really looked forward to his class. Made my MWF's. Be prepared to talk. He doesn't really put people on the spot but your grade depends on it.

BEST TEACHER EVER!!!! i loved his class. he likes to joke a lot. teaching style is mostly discussion. essay topics are easy. definately take him!!!

He is an AMAZING teacher! He grades fairly; you will be a better writer after taking his class. Make sure you speak up because he likes the talkers. And don't be afraid to joke around because he's got a great sense of humor.

You use one textbook and two outside books. The workload is not hard- 2 essays, midterm, and final exam. He talks about his girlfriend, movies, sports, etc. alot. Attendence is not mandatory. He is a bit of a hard grader but I personally did well. He does not accept late papers! You read a lot of short stories but I think it was a good class.

He is a great teacher. You get to have fun in his class. Just make sure you do all the papers, there are 4. I didnt read any of the stories for his class. But he goes over everything during class. Take him, deff recommend!

There are 4 papers if you answer the question you will get an A. There are short stories, he says which ones there will be a quiz on. if there isn't a quiz for the story then don't read it becasue he discusses it in class. we watch mississippi masala. there is one in class essay and he tells u if u have to do it or not. and there r 5 quizzes.

Good professor, good workload and very easy going with attendance. He is very sarcastic and funny, depending on your sense of humor you will either love him or hate him

Very cool guy, he does take grading seriously, but then again what kind of teacher wouldn't. He does go off topic but that makes the class even more fun, I find this class very entertaining and looked forward on going to class all the time. Highly recommend this teacher if you are going to take an english course.

Super fun class. Awesome teacher knows his stuff. Just do the essays and journals and only read when he says there is going to be quiz

Absolutely great teacher. Open discussions on readings, which can get off topic. No final exam! Just hand in all graded work back at the end of semester. Allows you to re-type papers if you're not happy with your grade. Gives about 5 small quizzes based off reading. Very fun class over all.

This guy has the perfect attitude for a 100 level class. He doesn't require much but will be really helpful if you show genuine interest. Class discussion is mostly about movies or an Airing of Grievances, but its fun he doesn't even require attendance, so how can you complain?

Awesome teacher! All you have is a few papers and no final exam. He is a tough grader, but you can rewrite your papers and turn in for a better grade.

Had him for World of Fiction. His class was okay. Felt like they dragged. 2 papers & 2 exams. He allows you to bring an index card for exams. He gets WAY OFF TOPIC every time he tries to connect to the readings. Likes to talk down on the school a lot. A little of a tough grader. I would suggest letting him go over your papers before they're due.

By far the best teacher at NEIU. Brian makes the class fun, interesting and is very helpful. He cares about his students success. I have taken English 101, 102 and am currently enrolled in his world fiction class this semester, really looking forward to it. If you need to fulfill your humanities requirement u highly recommend this class.

I wouldn't waste money on the book. You read a few articles and talk about them in class & write two mini essays, but you only have to use one of his sources (some are online). A big chunk of your grade is your final paper which is 9-12 pages and he gives you feedback on it as you go... allows revisions up until the due date. Easy!

Took him for my ENG 102 class, at first i seemed intimidated but his class got easier as time went by. You need the book for your papers because of the references that you need. Research paper was incredibly easy; just use the right sources and you should be fine. gets off topic sometimes.

Brian is the man! Super easy, show up and pass! Only 3 papers: 2 short ones only 3-5 pages and the main research paper which is 60% of your final grade that is 9-12 pages, but he lets you choose your own topic so you'r not writing about something you don't like. finish the paper early, turn it in and be done with the class and not have to show up!

Take him for both 101 and 102. He is professional and easy going.

By far he is the best teacher at NEIU. He might have a mean looking face but don't let that fool you! He is hilarious and great at explaining concepts that are new to the class. He is always available and willing to help during office hours. He takes homework early, and is very accommodating.

He is super nice and an easy grader. He tends to talk a lot and always makes jokes that arent really funny but he's very laid back. Gives a lot of short essays for ENG101 but they arent difficult and doesnt require them to be long. There are also a couple readings. For ENG102 we focused more on our research paper which was 9 pages and not too bad.

Professor White is very nice and sometimes jokes around. Deadlines have to be met but if you ask him he will help you before the due dates. His class is awesome but if you are looking for a challenging class, you may want to consider someone else. That does not mean whatever you write he will pass you but he makes the class easy for you.

Professor White is a good guy. He is goofy, but in an affable way, and despite his soft exterior, he has no patience for BS. I liked that. We were graded solely on three papers, which is great. You have the subjects early on, so you can get started right away, and if you want to turn in early, he will correct and return it. Don't procrastinate.

Hilarious professor, never a dull moment in class. He grades only off 2 papers and 2 tests, some pop quizzes. Cool guy, take him!

Mr. White was very funny! No matter what he would always be in a good mood and that allowed the class to end off on a good day. He was also very understanding, and helpful. I enjoyed his class so much!

One of the best professors at NEIU! He's hella hilarious and his class is fun. He teaches you how to write papers and gives you enough time to write them. Totally recommend take his class.

Brian was such a cool professor. I've never liked English classes, but needed this one for credit, and he made it extremely enjoyable. He's very funny, we left class early most days to work on homework and papers, the readings are interesting, and he cares about each of his students. As long as you o all assignments it's an easy A.

He is the best professor at NEIU! Mr. White can make anything enjoyable and easy as long as you listen to him and do all the work, which isn't much if you think about it. He is the best English teacher I've ever had.

i took this class as a grad req but overall it was an easy class to go through. When he assigns readings he expects the class to talk about it or make small remarks on it. make sure to know how to write a proper formatted (MLA) paper with good content if you want to pass his class. it is also very easy to get a response from him through email.

He is a very fun professor, he made classes fun, doesn't give us a heavy workload, and most of the class time is a blend of lecture and casual class talks that do get very interesting. His English 101 was so fun and interesting that I am now taking his 102 class and the same excitement continues. If you need English credits, take it with him.

He was the best professor ever at NEIU. He has bought a lot of joy, laughter, and fun to this course. Everything was very easy, and his class meetings were more like a class talk rather then lectures. I signed up for this professor for a 2nd semester just because of how fun his classes were, many ENG-101 students signed up for 102 with him as well.
