Woody is amazing, I had him for math 102 (college Algebra) and he made it a breeze. You have to do the homework tho cause if you dont youll deff fall behind/ not remember anything

Woody was the best math teacher I've had so far. His methods were different and extremely helpful. He holds you responsible and isn't afraid to tell you if you need to step it up. He went a little fast sometimes but that's what I used office hours for and found it very effective. The class wasn't easy, but it wasn't hard. All in all, solid teacer.

He's very helpful and he made calculus very interesting. However, his test is def a bit more challenging because the problems are harder and haven't seen through homework or examples in class. Woody made calc extremely easy. After taking Woody's class, I definitely have a stronger understanding of the subject. Tests are laughably easy as long as you pay attention in class and study your notes. Woody pretty much tells you exactly what is on the tests. I would recommend him for an easy A.

Awesome TA. He tells you what will be on the quiz and is very helpful answering homework questions. He seems scattered brained sometimes but when it comes to Calculus, he is a genius. He shows you a bunch of ways to approach a problem for the people who learn differently

He made calculus very easy to understand and it was a very fun class. The only thing I am disappointed in is that he won't be my math teacher next semester. But overall, he is simply an amazing teacher and guy.

Awesome teacher, would honestly recommend him for any and all calculus classes. He is extremely fair and the tests you will fly thru if you pay attention. Explains problems well. Takes a lot of time pre-test to go over study guide which leaves you with less time to work on the test. Should limit the student questions especially when they are repeats of a previous question in the same session.

One of the funniest teachers I've ever had. Woody is an extremely cool guy and makes math fun to learn. He has certain philosophies that he teaches by that are hilarious too. For example, "A person can only focus on one thing for 7 minutes at a time." Every 7 minutes he will say something that will have you laughing. Definitely request this guy.

He keeps the class engaged and interested in the course material. 182 is one of the hardest Math classes to take in the engineering majors and how Woody breaks everything down is awesome. He is very informal and encourages class participation. He also has some great stories that make it so you can remain interested.meow

This is the best math professor at UNR. He teaches what you need to know and drills it into you like the army guy he is. I had an F in calc 2 before him, but the way he teaches I got over 100% on two tests. He makes calc interesting and fun. MAKE HIM A PRIORITY when making your schedule

This was by far my favorite class, having a math teacher that actually cares was new to me. In order to get a good grade you had to apply yourself. It's a two way street to get a good grade, he gives you what you need for the test, all you have to do is study. He's not crazy, and his really funny. Take his class you won't regret it.

Had to take to pass math core. He was a good teacher and very much so wanted to help the student pass. Made sure everything was understood and clear for the student and basically gave you the tests in study guides day before. Just either attend for the notes or go to class day before tests and you will be fine.

Brian Woody by far is the instructor who had gotten the coolest personality among whom I had before, he knows how to keep the rhythm of the class up for the entire 1hr and 35 mins. However, be on the lookout on the review day before each exam, the examples in the review day will not be enough to prepare you fully for the exam. Highly recommened

Taking Calculus with Woody over the summer was a pleasure. Woody teaches students how to properly teach themselves. My advice to any future student is to seize your time in class with him, listen to his words and write them down over and over. I walk away from the course knowing Calculus, practicing it now on my own and finding lights going off!

Best professor I have had at UNR. He wants all of his students to get an A in his class and will tell you from day one how he does hist test and quizzes. Not only does he explain math so it actually makes sense, but he is HILARIOUS. Seriously, do not second guess taking him, just take him.

I took an entire semester of precalc in 3 weeks over winter with Woody and he is so straight forward and clear that I didn't even mind being in class for 3 hours. Tests are EXACTLY like the examples he drills you on in class. Attendance is MANDATORY and homework takes quite a bit of time, but I could probably graph rational functions in my sleep.

Really great teacher for Wintermester. Got near perfect scores on tests and homeworks because of his constant dictator drilling. But don't take it wrong, he was very funny and clear about it! Got over 100% on tests and passed the class with 102%!!! (Thanks to the tons of exam extra credit.)

He brought his dog George Henry in several times during the semester and his class is just all around fun to be in. Do the work, study the math, and you will receive an A in the class. Great class. I took this class last summer with Woody and now I am helping some of his current students. This class is fun but be prepared to work. I took Math 182 last summer from Woody and it was a great academic experience. I learned so much. Its not easy but he has you work in groups and it makes a world of difference. Woody's test questions are based on examples done in class. He will tell you to re-copy these examples. This method works. I learned as much about good study habits as I did calculus in this class. The class is challenging but very fair. When he says he really likes a certain example expect to see it on the test. Best Prof. I've ever had.

Everyone says his Calculus 2 class is exceptionally easy, but in fact it's harder than most other Calc 2 classes. He does an exceptional job preparing students for tests so that is SEEMS easier.

Calculus 2 is a difficult course and his tests are tough, but he does an excellent job preparing you. He makes you practice over and over until you can do these problems in your sleep.

This class was cake. Seriously, Woody made the class super easy and the material really understandable. I would recommend him 10 times over. One caveat though, he can be a fairly strict grader regarding to minutia such as if you don't label the axis or don't label an intersection point because it is at the origin you will get marked off. This is the best professor I've had at UNR. He is super clear about how his tests are conducted. Woody is the best teacher on campus. In a class that has one of the highest failure rates around (Math 176 aka Business Calc), Woody was able to make it a breeze through his genius way of repetition. I'm so glad I took this class with Woody. Some say his tests are easy, but I think the tests seemed easier as we were prepared. Woody gave clear instructions on problems, tells you how and what to study, and allows a formula sheet as a "safety blanket." You don't really need it if you put in the work, show up, and listen. took his summer class, at first I was sad for ruining my summer and taking a class, but his class is mire like a stand up comedy which is heavily depended on math. He is really knowledgeable which is confusing considering the fact that he is a funny, buff, and everything opposite of the other math instructors.
