She is without a doubt the best teacher I've ever had. Both inspirational & encouraging. I not only saw improvement of voice in my own writing, but watched the other students improve greatly during the semester. She's also very responsive, supportive & tries to keep the assignments interesting, so it's not hard to be passionate about each paper. TU

At times it can be very unclear on what she wants us to do, and explains things after u have alread done it. however she will help and make things clear if u ask. There's alot of work but of course it college english. just do ur work, ask for help, go to class and youll do great!

Hoida's class was so easy. In the first couple classes she makes it seem as if she is tough and hard but she is so sweet and very understanding. her syllabus looks difficult but dont let it scare you i almost dropped it but i decided to stay in her class and it was the easiest A i have ever gotten. i hate english and writing but she made it simple.

This professor is by far my favorite educator ever! She is very detailed and clear with what her requirements are. For the essays, she takes the time to go over your own essay with you before the official turn in time. Prof. Hoida is by far the best professor I have had. I had her for both English 200 and English 1AH and I wouldn't have dared to take an honors class if it wasn't for her. she is really helpful and will give you the help you need as long as you ask for it. she also gives enough time to complete the papers and almost always has a dropbox for drafts.

It was my first time taking an online class so I was a bit nervous but she made everything so clear and was incredibly sweet. She emails back super quick and gives great feedback before you turn in your final drafts.

Prof Hoida is an amazing english teacher! I took ENG1A online & in general online classes are heavy in work. She usually assigns an essay & you will have 1-2 week to write it which totals 5 for 1 semester. She has clear rubrics for these & grades very fairly. There are also additional assignments such as discussion boards& quizzes you will take.

This was a great class and I learned so much through Prof. Hoida's wonderful leadership. Expect about 12 hours per week, which include weekly discussion boards, peer reviews, and about 5-6, 750-1000 page essays in total. But you work on the essays in smaller bite size pieces each week with her full attention and guidance. Take her class!

This professor is the best online English 1b teacher in Saddleback. I am a student from IVC and I took her class because of the ratings on RMP. In syllabus she said that she will reply to your email within 12-24 hours. In fact, she answers email within 1-2 hours. Don't accept late DBs and essays. However, she do accept late assignment. Take her!

Professor Hoida is AMAZING! I took her online class and it was overall pretty easy. Discussion boards every week and 4 essays total. She is a bit of a hard grader, and I would say that I'm a pretty decent writer. TAKE HER CLASS! You will not regret it.

She is a truly amazing professor! Give good feedback which will help you a lot while revising the paper. Probably the easiest online writing course. The grading criteria is very clear. You have the chance to earn 30 extra points in total. 10 DBs in total, but you are only required to complete the 8 of them! Take her and you would enjoy the course.

Four major papers/projects and weekly assignments. It was obvious that she enjoyed the content and cared about her students. She had a way of being present in class discussions where it felt like she was part of the discussion rather than just leading it because she actually takes what students say into account and encourages further exploration.

I took her 8-week class, so it was a lot of work, but it's an entire semester in half the time. However, it was fascinating as the theme of the class is music. She also provides samples of what she expects and videos to help you. She has online office hours and is very helpful on Zoom. I learned a lot about music and writing in this class.

Professor Hoida is so nice and accommodating. I thought we would be reading long novels, but we only read short poems, essays, or excerpts, which are so inspiring. Her recorded lectures are great and she is so well educated. They are only about 14 minutes long. Two essays, no big deal, two projects, easy. She always responds and helps if u need it

This was such a great class because I finally was able to read diverse writers. Lots of new stories and poems that I have never read before from all sorts of different cultures and backgrounds. I love Professor Hoida so much. I took her for my Literature credit and she was so much fun. She had this policy of having a ton of material but you only had to read 1. She also made multiple prompts for one assignment where you only had to do one. She was so sweet, caring, and made an awesome class. I am actually going to miss her class. Love her!

I took this as an 8-week class. Because it's focused on research it is a lot of work, but Dr. Hoida makes it engaging because the course is focused on music. For your final research paper she encourages you to pick a topic which you actually care about, which makes it easier to write about. I was hard but she cares so it was worth it. Great class.

This was actually a pretty chill class. One project, four essays, midterm & discussion boards. She gives extra credit & your research paper is your final exam. She gives you a lot of feedback and checklists to help you improve on drafts. She is also available for help on email and Zoom. Glad I took this class and I feel like my writing got better.

There are weekly discussions, and you'll write four essays during the course. Quizzes are mostly about giving feedback on the unit and talking about your thesis for the next essay. The professor breaks everything down step by step and gives plenty of examples, so it's pretty hard to mess up on essays or projects if you follow her advice.

I never thought I would like Ancient Lit, but this class won me over. You can tell Prof. Hoida really loves the subject and she does her best to make you love it too. Dr. Hoida has been the best professor I've come across. She's so caring and passionate. I expected there to be a lot of reading, but she keeps her readings short and lectures short. I'm going to be honest. I had a really hard semester with a lot of personal health issues, and Prof. Hoida was supportive, encouraging and understanding. She really helped me succeed and worked with me to create a timeline for make-up work so I could be successful. The class was also really interesting and I enjoyed it very much.

Prof. Hoida cares more about personal growth and connection then she does about rigid timelines. You still have to do the work, but she makes it feel easy because you do it all together. I learned so much about myself and my peers in this class. It was based on the concept of the art of happiness, and I really learned to find my voice as a writer.

Absolutely incredible teacher. This class was very enjoyable and it's obvious that she cares about each student. She is lenient on late work and very willing to give extensions, she gives great feedback on every single assignment, and she was overall just amazing.

Mandatory material was not easy but she did everything possible to make it doable for everyone to get an A. Grades are contractual so everything is graded for completion or out of 4.

Professor Hoida is one of the sweetest professors I've ever had. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students and their well-being. She is very down-to-earth, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking to take her classes.

She is the nicest teacher ever! Really cares and lets you choose what you like best from a "salad bar" of movie options, so you never get bored. The final project was really cool, and you get a ton of creative and interesting options to pick from. I plan to take her again in another class.

Great vibes. Made some chill friends in class. Learned tactics to make writing easier (like the thesis machine). Got to choose my own topics and write about things I actually cared about. Plan to take again in 1B. Overall +10/10 energy.
