Professor James is the most inconsiderate teacher I've come across. I would avoid taking her online class at all costs! She is disrespectful to students and will not accept any late work, even if you mother passes away. NO JOKE! Her lisp will start to give you headaches after the first week.

Super easy, hybrid online class, only 2 class meetings in the semester. Piece of cake, take her for sure.

Easy class and very helpful. I emailed her several times during the semester and she answered the same day every time (sometimes within an hour!). She is also very approachable and she obviously loves the subject. Class is a hybrid course with just a couple of meetings in person during the semester. I highly recommend this class!

class had way too many work packets to be done every week. tricky tests. i'd advise taking the class in person rather than online.

Trust me, the sample exam she provides is so similar to the actual exams that if you can't get an A on the ACTUAL exams, you must be out to lunch, lol.....or you didn't pay enough attention to the class to realize that her sample exams help a great deal. VERY easy online class. Each module assignment took 15-20 min per week, with the flexibility to turn them in together as a packet in the middle of the semester, and one at the end or you could turn them in weekly at anytime. Exams are easy if you use sample exam to study from. Earthquakes/Volcanoes/Asteroids/Floods all great topics! Great class!

Great class! Earthquakes, Volcanoes and Coastal Processes were my favorites. Loved the forums and being able to interact with the rest of the class. Her lectures are very clear and the feedback she gives on the activities really help with the exam. Her sample test helps a lot too! I highly recommend this class!

If you are looking for an easy Segment III course, this is it! Summer class consisted of 11hw modules, forum posts, and one test. Practice final exam given to study, but it is actually the same as the final. Don't buy the book. Google is cheaper.

Very interesting geology class about "the Violent Earth" - natural hazards etc. Very clear instructions and well organized, communicated class. I learned a lot of fun trivia and overall became very interested in the subject (before i started i did not think i would like it so much).

This class is super interesting and well organized (Forum 20%, Answer Qs 50%, a midterm and a final 30%). As long as you do the work + practice exams, you'll be fine. Trust me, TAKE THIS CLASS. I learned a lot throughout the course even though I suck at science. she's an easy grader. THE Best class ever & Looking forward to take her class again! :)

I took her class online and another Geology class at State, and having both of them really helped me. She is very straight-forward, you have more than enough time to complete assignments. The only thing I recommend is DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THE ONLINE BOOK…it was expensive and we didn't use it once.

Great class (and my first online class!) She is obviously interested in the subject, and not only did I learn a great deal of information, she made it easy to learn, because of her enthusiasm! She is very attentive to her email, getting back to me within a few hours, and sometimes within 5 minutes! I highly recommend Professor James!

Took online during summer. 11 sections, just enough homework to make sure you watched the video lectures. Lectures averaged an hour per section. Surprisingly interesting subject which made hw that much easier. A very good segment III class: not too much busy work but very interesting subject matter where you'll learn a lot. Highly recommend.

Professor James is a funny and interesting professor - kinda dorky. I took this class over the summer. Easy module homework every week and the final exam is exactly the same as the practice final. Super easy GE class and I learned a sufficient amount about the geological processes of our planet. TAKE IT!

Take this class to fulfill GE3!! There should be no excuse for you not to get a good grade from this class. It consists of weekly forum posts and activities. Teacher is willing to help when necessary. You are missing out if you don't take this class. Overall, easy.

As an online course, she makes her expectations very clear. Each week there are a set of lectures, followed by an activity (hw), and forum participation. She posts most of the lectures ahead of time so if you want, you can go ahead and do them all in one week haha. Overall, the course is easy, and her lectures are interesting. She's very nice!

If you're taking a heavy load, TAKE THIS CLASS! You only have to devote 20 min a week to a discussion forum. The weekly worksheets are due mid-semester (6 assignments) and the next 6 are due at the end of the semester. Drops 2 from each. Don't have to listen to lectures just answer questions off the slides. DO THE STUDY EXAM! You'll appreciate it!

I took her online class, and it was very easy and straightforward. Weekly assignments, forum participation, one midterm, and one final. She gives great feedback on your work, and really wants you to pass the class with a good grade. Recommended!

This class consist of watching weekly lectures and completing weekly quizzes. There is also a midterm and a final, but the thing is she gives you a sample midterm and sample final before the actual exams which are exactly, word for word, the same test. So make sure you know how to do the sample exams she gives out and you should be fine. Easy A!

Professor James is an AMAZING teacher. The class is super simple as long as you watch the lectures and take notes. The practice final she provides is nearly identical to the actual final, so as long as you fill it out and make sure all the answers are right, you'll pass the final with an A. Just make sure you participate in the forums.

It was the most doable online science class! You will get to learn important environmental hazards that we need to be aware of, and this class provides basic explanations on mechanisms of geoscience! No need of textbook because her lectures are clear. Module activities were fun, and keep up your works! Great in-advance questions for what to expect!

This was the first geology course I have ever taken and I can say that the material was a bit hard because I had no background on the topic, but Bridget made it easy to learn with her super thorough lectures and online participation assignments. She replies to emails very quickly and is super sweet. I would take her again!

Amazing! She is VERY helpful. The class is SO straightforward and easy. I learned a TON and it was barely any work!!! Did I mention that she is amazing and so was the class? TAKE HER! Be prepared to register early because her class fills up FAST!

This was the best online class I've ever taken. Everything was well organized and expectations were clear. The material was very interesting (natural disasters!). The online lectures were well presented, and nearly every module had some sort of interesting documentary to watch. Tests were reasonable. She gets grades back quickly and answers email.

Great course to take if you're not really great at science! She explains everything clearly and gives you plenty of time to finish the week's work, would definitely take again!

A good teacher, lectures were clear and informational. I learned a lot from her lectures, even without reading the textbook. Just do well on her 1 per week assignments and you'll do well. She makes super helpful study guides for the midterm and final.

I loved this class!! (summer online class - R1) At first I was not that excited to take the course because it was a GE course and it is about the earth (not my favorite topic). But after taking her class I learned soooo much that I actually retained all the information. And let me say she had the most ORGANIZED online class I've ever taken!

Bridget is a great professor. Homework and forum posts every week but if you can't finish that week she'll give you an extra week, no need to ask. Also needed to purchase a book to do quizzes there but she gave full credit even if people didn't ace the quiz. 1 midterm and 1 final, gives study guide and practice test. Amazing slides.

Exactly what you're looking for in an add on, online class for the summer. Pleasant, accessible, nice lectures. Mandatory purchase of online book for a hundred bucks firm. Read this, read that, here's the quiz, boom boom. Online forums, just google for latest earthquake or volcano and post about it. Speaking of google...

Awesome professor! Clear, concise and very interesting lectures. Make sure to participate in the discussion forum based on her guidelines and complete modules and book quizzes (in addition to exams), and you should have no issue getting an A. She's also very responsive and prompt by email if anything's up. I recommend this class.

Bridget is an amazing professor who cares about her students and very passionate about the Earth and geology. I really enjoyed this class; very nice video lectures followed by modules and quizzes (very easy) and two exams (very easy). Bridget's class is an easy A. Her lectures are very concise, reading quizzes and modules related to lecture/documentaries you watch, and tests are identical to the study guide so study! Forums are fun & interactive, so you can just Google a current event or anything related to the week's lecture. Very nice & responsive by email, highly recommended.

Bridget is an amazing professor. I really enjoyed her lectures, and the forums; you can simply just google a recent event and you'll get credit. You can tell she is very passionate about the Earth. This class was the most organized online class I have ever taken! The material is interesting and the class has a reasonable amount of work (not too much, not too little).

I took this class over winter break and it was a breeze! The class consists of forums, quizzes, and a final exam. The class is low stress and really easy. The online page is organized really well and shes great at responding back to emails. HIGHLY recommended taking her class to complete your upper division GE.

I took this class as a shortened summer class. Forums every week, quizzes every 3 days or so and modules about every 3 days. If you are willing to put in the work then this is a class for you. The class isn't too hard you just have to spend the time are do the reading. She does drop a few of the lowest scores.

Weekly discussion forums, modules, and reading quizzes. She gives a 100% if you just try the reading quizzes. The modules are simple. The text is super easy. The discussions are most open-ended but should relate to geology. There is a midterm and a final that are based on the first and second halves of the course. Super easy.

Spectacular. Not a ton of work, but enough that you really have to keep up with it. I hate science but she made it as easy as possible. If you need UD science credits but you hate science, I would recommend taking her class. Her textbook is kinda expensive, but it's perfect for the course.

The class is easy if you are not lazy. Weekly quizzes, discussion forums, module and one hour of lecture. You are graded on the correctness for module (these are based on her lectures). For midterm and Final, they are 150 points each (30% of your grade). Take notes, use online to search up the concepts and you will do fine on them. No extra credit!

I give Briget the benefit of the doubt--this is an online class. Even though I personally feel as though I didn't get much out of it (I'm a political science major, so it's out of range), I very much appreciate the clarity of grading criteria, access to lectures, and ability to communicate with her within reasonable time.

quiz and forum posts per week. post two forum posts on two separate days. quizzes follow the youtube lectures. hard not to get an A since this class is not demanding. no need for the book. Allocate enough time to listen to the lecture and it should be fine.

2 weekly forums and a module. The textbook isn't really needed. Plus, exams are similar to the sample exam and the study guide may also help. This class is great for knocking off a GE requirement.

One of the best online classes you can take for GE. iLearn page is very organized with lectures and assignments, and grading criteria is clear. Weekly forums require participation 2x/week (no grace period) and 10-item quiz (w/ grace period). Exams are fairly easy too, she gives study guides and sample exams that are similar to the actual. No final.

Prof. James made getting my GE credit so easy while teaching me so much. There are discussion boards, but you just have to post something insightful three times a week. The lectures are very easy to understand, and the modules and tests are easy if you watch the lectures. Everything is super organized on iLearn, and you can work ahead on modules!

One of the easiest classes to get an A in ever. 2 discussion posts and a homework "quiz" that is open notes/lectures each week. Quizlet had the questions in case you miss anything during the lecture for the weekly homework quiz but if you watch the lecture, they are an easy A. The lectures are not long at all and the topics are interesting!

This is a online course should be. Prof. James recorded her lecture as video so students could watch it. Those lecture videos have helped me study better. She makes it more interesting than just reading textbook to study. Weekly homework is discussion forum and activity, midterm and final. Easy A.

The class was very organized and easy to get ahead in. The lectures were sometimes long but great for studying. If you study for the tests and do your work on time you will pass. Participation was graded by making posts or responding to posts. I really enjoyed this class and I think anyone interested in the subject will get something out of it.

She replies to email very fast (it is set up on her phone). Asynchronous course. The forums are fun because you pick the topic or you can just reply to topics already started with fun topics about the Earth! Sample Exam given well in advance is almost exactly the actual exam. Easy A for each one (midterm and non-cumulative final). Fun class!

A very class to fulfil your GE requirements. 20% of your grade is forum, two post a week should get you full credit on forum participation, 50% is from modules, again very easy. The last 30% is from two exams, study and you will get an easy A in this class.

One forum and one quiz a week. Quizzes are kind of hard. Not a lot of work just do the quiz and forum and you'll pass. Midterm and final are nothing like the quizzes so make sure you study. Pretty easy class to fulfill life science.

EASY A. Module activity and forum each week. Seven day grace period AND she drops the lowest two module activity and forum grades, so if you do get a little behind, you don't have to worry about a lot of make-up work to catch up. Topics are super interesting. You can work ahead. Answers email fast! TAKE HER CLASS! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

Great professor and class. Just watch all the lectures, take good notes, and the exams will be easy for you. The lectures are easy to understand. No need to reference textbook. Homework is weekly and two discussion board posts a week. Syllabus is very clear on grade expectations.

Listen to the lectures, take notes, and you'll pass. Most of the lectures were pre-recorded, but, really, geology doesn't change much in millions of years, so it won't change much in a few months between recorded lectures. The quizzes and exams were MC and the lowest grades were dropped. Forum participation was required and graded as well.

Pretty manageable workload class. Every week assigns homework which includes participation in forums, watching lectures, and taking quizzes based on what we watched from the lectures. Make sure to take notes. Drops 2 of the lowest quizzes grade and forum grades. I recommend taking her.

Great Professor easy work, a lot of the stuff was on quizlet. Workload is moderate she drops two of the lowest form grades as long as you do the work you'll get an A fairly simple stuff.

The class material was fairly easy to comprehend yet she was an extremely severe grader. She wanted us to respond to a forum post twice a week and on different days. If we posted on the same day or the last day (Sunday) she would grade it a C. In addition to that, the lectures were extremely long and we had to complete a quiz each week.

Summer 30day session has 12 modules, theyre a 30min lecture and 10 quiz questions. I sit down every other day and can pound out 2-3 modules. I'm 11 days in and already onto the last 3 modules. Keep in mind u have to log in 2x a week for forum participation, but its just a journal. Great summer asynchronous choice and I'm not even that disciplined

Took this class during the summer (1 month course) as a requirement. Each week there is 3 Homework with videos provided to solve (very clear). Also, a weekly discussion forum where you comment or make a post about a geology-related subject. Even though this class was fully asynchronous I learned a lot.

Easy peazy. Honestly, I finished the month-long class by week 2. I didn't watch any of her lectures & got through with an A-. There are weekly discussions which aren't bad. This was just an Easy A basically - there is a fair share of assignments, but you can breeze through it using google. Just submit everything on time & you'll be straight

Bridget is a great online professor. Lays out the entire course at the beginning of the semester. Lectures, discussion posts, and quizzes each week. Best part is you can complete all your work 6 weeks ahead instead of waiting for a new module to be posted each week. She has a week grace period and is responsive on email.

Easy online class! The professor is pretty good, my second class with her! Each week you complete a module with consists of 2-3 discussion replies and a quiz. Her lecture videos have all the answers to the quizzes so it is very doable. She has a very organized iLearn layout so you know exactly what is due for the week and you can even work ahead!

One of the few professors I would take again, she is great. Class was super easy to pass, you get to learn too! Just do the work and you'll pass fine :)

5-week summer elective. Professor James is awesome, and her video lectures are very informative, interactive, and easy to follow. Lots of work since it's only 5 weeks but you are able to work ahead, guidelines & due dates are clear. 2 discussion posts are due each week. Very fun class and I learned a lot. I would recommend this class to everyone!

The class the the professor is very interesting. The class is made in away to engage us the students. The readings and mostly the videos are very fun and interesting. Then there are the quizzes which are the way you get your grades. If you pay attention, then it is a piece of cake.

Definitely recommend if you're looking for an easy, chill class.

Professor James was awesome! ERTH310 was an interesting class. Her lectures/slides were so useful!

Very easy class, everything is written/said in lectures and slides. She has all the assignments leading up to the midterm open so you can be ahead if you would like. Same goes for assignments after the midterm. Once you do the midterm, you'll be able to do all the assignments leading up to the final, way before they are due.

Probably the easiest course I have taken at SF State, and I'm a senior. Very easy discussion and activity modules. The midterm project is just watching a movie and answering questions alongside it. The final is a 50-multiple-choice exam. I put in little to no effort and had a final grade of 99.2%. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Prof. James delivers a highly organized course. Easy to follow structure. Drops the two lowest scores on weekly assignments and the lowest-scored discussion assignment. There is also a grace period that is easily accessible when needed. Between dropped scores and grace periods, you would have to miss a lot not to get an A.

I really enjoyed her class. Yes there is 3 test a week and you only get one chance to take them and four discussions. Out of 4 discussions she drops the lowest one, and from 12 quizzes she drops the 2 lowest. Her grading is clear, and she is strict about the timing of the assignments. Doesn't offer extra credit. Uses point system for grading

I took her oceanography class, and it was great! very organized with modules. You're able to work on future modules if you'd like. peer discussion every week, along with a quiz. Lectures are very nice as well. easy grader and an enjoyable class.
