-tries to make english as interesting as possible, which is not at all, so good for her. -she is always looking for feedback from the students.
Terrible Prof! I had such high hopes for her at the begining, seemed nice and willing to help, but turned out to be a disorganized and unprofessional teacher! Worst ever! Doesn't take attendance herself, but makes you sign a scrapbook that never makes it around the classroom! Totally unprofessional and a waste of time. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
She's an alright teacher. Athough her lectures may seem disorganized she keeps it together pretty well. I would take another class from her for sure. Just MAKE sure to do your homework and assigments. She is fair marker, just put effort into what you do. She's SUPER sweet too!!!
I am pretty sure this was her first time teaching. At first she was nervous and disorganized, but she did get better as time went on. Texts and required readings were useless. Very picky about words and labels.. pretty much have to write to what she wants to hear. Pretty easy class, but you gotta listen and write what she wants.
Because attendance was dropping, she decided to make the class hell for those that actually care by removing notes from UR courses despite students begging for another alternative. Try as you may, you will never get all the notes down on your own without the UR courses so don't take this class unless you enjoy stress and torture.
Tries to jam WAY too much information into one class. Gives out too many assignments and is not clear on what she wants. Expects you to know over 50 terms for the mid-term and only releases the notes DAYS before the exam. Talks as if we should already know everything. Many people are struggling or lost -- she doesn't seem to care.
About to write midterm tomorrow. Her study guidelines are all over the place. The potential essay questions seem like they're 300 level. 2 essay questions & a bunch of short answer for a 50 min test? I though I signed up for an introductory course. AVOID, its not worth it at all. I have friends in other INDG classes that are far less overwhelmed.
loose, unorganized,,little to no textbook use.
i loved her! would recommand her too anybody, super nice, helpful, not alot of work, but one big paper at the end. would take another class from her!
She was the worst prof. I've ever experienced, she makes sure if you disagree with her that your life is HELL. I started out in he class with 2 other friends, one dropped right away, the other dropped with no refund because they could not stand her (she was not reasonable at all)! DO NOT TAKE CLASSES FROM HER!
bad..just bad. she has potential to be a good prof cause she knows her stuff and is really nice. but does NOT know how to teach, make tests, assinigments, etc.
I'll admit, I didn't take to her well at the beggining of the semester, but she slowly won me over. She's nice, she makes an effort to know her students and has no problems discussing the class
Was a very good prof, explained subjects well, knew what she was talking about. Assignments were a little long at points but not too bad. Use of powerpoints helps clear things up, somewhat fast lectures though.
I found this teacher very helpful and really interacted with the students an important key is to talk lots in class, at first she is a hard marker but once you understand her marking it isn't to bad, the text book isn't really important and go to the study sessions for the test
All around stand up prof. Very interesting class, a bit tough for those with low commitment levels
good prof, easy to follow the notes, few assignments which was awesome. spent time to learn student's names, available for help too
awesome. classes are interesting. easy, but she's really tight about citing your source (use lots of in text citations). pretty much have to attend to understand whats goin on.
very passonate about her letures, and seems to be understanding. Must go to class, most of the information is slides and disscussions. to bad i failed..but as a professor shes alright. thanks for your help anyway Briget!
Terrible, don't take her. she is very difficult and its in the FN building...
Great Proff. She challenges you to think. Very helpful reviews for exams. Attend class and you will do well. She is an english teacher as well, I feel that this class imporved my writing more then an english class. I Recomend her. Took time to learn names. Rated mid easy/hard because you do have to put in the effort, would U want a class you didnt?
Bridget is amazing! She takes into consideration the busiest times of the semester for midterms/papers and whatnot, and is willing to work around them with her due dates. She takes the time to get to know everyone, is thorough, and she knows her stuff. Plus all power-points are available online which is very useful. Would definitely recommend her!
Bridget is nice in class, seems like she would be very approachable. However, if you need to speak with her about a paper she is not very willing to help you out. Papers are graded very hard. Exams are fairly easy. She makes the class easy, but shes hard to approach. I wouldn't recommend her.
She's a tough marker. My first time ever failing an essay was in the beginning of this class, but I learned A LOT and she was very helpful. By the end, I was a much better writer, and my marks reflected this later. If you are a sub-par writer, do not expect to come out with an A, but you will learn a lot! She's passionate and friendly! Good class.
Bridget is very friendly, although don't expect much help with your papers. I took English 100 with her and i like to think i am a better writer because of it since she is a tough marker. She encouraged group discussions and you can tell she is passionate about what she does
Smart, friendly, and approachable. I enjoyed her class immensely. Also very lenient with late assignments. Adjusts due dates for the class if needed.Referring to the comment about her class being at the FNU Campus: I personally think it's a beautiful campus and dont see what her class being taught there has to do with anything?
She's very objective and intelligent, helpful and understanding. Also, she's fair in her marking. Exams are not hard if you study before. I improved my writing in her class more than in English 100. Overall, she's really a great prof for Indigenous Studies. Don't waste your money on buying a textbook, she almost never uses it.
She is an amazing teacher. I had no interest taking this class, and I am so glad I lucked out and got her. She is so passionate in her lectures, it's hard not to be interested in what she is saying. The course itself had a lot of material to cover, but she never overloaded us with work and was lenient with due dates if necessary. As long as you tak
Very smart and passionate about the material she taught in class. I really enjoyed taking Indigenous Studies with her and she made each class enjoyable with her sunny disposition. The class was easy and she taught each class with slides and posted every lecture on UR courses. She was also very lenient with due dates. My favorite prof. yet
Amazing prof. I expected indg 100 to be a dull class, but Bridget made the class fun and interesting. Term papers are marked hard since she is also an english prof. furthermore, she allowed me to hand in an assignment late and didnt lose any marks. Spoke slowly which made thorough note taking easy. I highly recommend her
TERRIBLE!! very knowledgeable but CAN'T TEACH WHAT-SO-EVER!! Doesn't follow an outline (overall and in each individual class). So scattered, so unfocussed! Terrible! If I didn't require this course, I'd drop it. Can't stand her!! Can't write enough bad things!
i really like her! she's not a super easy prof, but you can definitely tell she cares a great deal about the subject, which makes the class interesting. very good speaker, approachable and kind. will take another from her.
Amazing prof. Very Intelligent and helped me alot oustide of class. I didn't think she was un-organized. I thought she follwed the outline perfectly. You actually have to try in her class to get a good grade and i think that's why other students dislike her
Bridget is an AWESOME teacher. If you pay attention, attend classes and take notes, you'll do well. As long as you have a mature attitude, you'll do well. As for the comments regarding FNU...proof that you should be taking MORE Indigenous Studies classes! FNUC is the BEST building on Campus!
Don't even bother buying the textbook. I opened once.. and it was to B.S. an assignment. She's pretty easy, has a good taste in music. And let's face it -- She's not hard on the eyes ;)
Very fun and bubbly. Make the info easy to understand. Posts her slides online. Assigns weekly readings, but goes over them in class so you can get away without buying the textbook. Extremely helpful and very quick to respond to emails. Would love to take another class from her!
Smart, helpful, classes taught on powerpoint and posted on ur courses, textbook is not needed since she discussews each chapter in class, passionate in teaching her material, plus she is very good looking. Take her class
HORRIBLE. Very unorganized, can't teach well, feels as if she favours certain students. Would not recommend her and will not take a class from her again in the future!!!
I don't know where all these unorganized opinions are coming from. I thought she was very organized. One of my favorite prof's yet. Looking forward to taking another class from her. I dreaded taking WGST 100, but Bridget make it bearable.
A good prof and was friendly. Her exams were usaully pretty easy.
Overall a decent prof. Class was very easy and straight forward. Agree she could work on her organization, but all the notes are posted online. No need to buy the textbooks. Finished in the high 80's and never opened the textbooks!
Proff was very passionate which added interest the course. Subject was somewhat interesting, and proff was very understanding. Midterms were much more straight forward than the final exam. Ended up with an 80 with minimal effort. Would recommend this proff.
A great prof! Reinforces material throughout. Understands what being a student is like, so very lenient with due dates and the amount of information to be remembered in class. Gives one in class assignment with 5%, two reflections worth 5% each, one paper proposal worth 10%, one paper worth 20%, midterm worth 20%, and a final worth 35%.
She's very critical of people's opinions, but over all a understanding prof.
Best prof I've ever had. I handed in my term paper over a month late and the only penalty was that she marked it without comment. She's incredibly understanding and I want to take as many classes with her as possible. She's very relatable and really knows what she's talking about. Always willing to work for her students. TAKE HER CLASS.
This was my fourth class with bridget, I took Engl 100, Wgst 100, and Indig 100 with her before, and she is my favorite Prof. She makes the material enjoyable since she obviously cares a great deal about what she teaches. She is always willing to meet and help, which I find impressive given how many classes she teaches. Flexible with due dates.
Bridget helped me a great deal throughout the semester, and was always willing to help me outside of class. She made classes enjoyable with her warm, quirky, sunny disposition. I really enjoyed when she put ignorant students in their place. Take her classes. She is an awesome prof
An amazing, passionate and understanding prof. She does a really impressive job of dealing with ignorant people, too. Always willing to talk and will know your name, even when she has about 300 other students. Probably one of the best I've had so far.
She is an amazing proff who understands that life happens. Her passion allows her to teach the class in a very interesting way.
Bridget was such a great prof. She made the class interesting and cleared up any questions we had. She always asked how the pace was and if she needed to slow down and if we were clear on what she was saying which I loved. I will take a class from her again for sure!!
An easy enough class. Finished with a 77 with minimal effort. An obviously very intelligent woman, but if your opinion differs from hers...look out.
I was often scared to speak out in Bridget's class because you don't want to have a different opinion than her. However, she is a very helpful, understanding and friendly prof! Don't buy the textbook because you NEVER use it. Work hard on your papers because she is also an English prof. Multiple choice on exams was sometimes random but she marks up
Bridget is a great prof, really passionate and knowledgeable on the subject. As long as you attend class and take notes you'll do fine. She name drops, but is overall really clear on what will be on exams. Don't buy the textbook, you never touch it. Overall, I recommend her highly, a really thought-provoking class!!
She is an amazing prof! Great material and very organized. I would recommend everyone who is taking WGST 100 to take her class.
Bridget was definitely a very passionate proffesor, however she was very intimidating. She got into heated arguments with students in class who raised their opinions that were not the same as hers. Good prof, but write for what she wants to read for sure.
Very understanding Professor when it comes to deadlines. Especially like how she put ignorant students in their place during class. They sure kept quiet after that. She made class enjoyable with her kind voice and warmth
Bridget is insightful and full of knowledge! She knows what she is talking about and is inspirational. If you are looking for a class to learn a lot, take one of her courses! She challenged societal beliefs and caused me to question myself as a person and my role in society. Fantastic, amazing, wonderful class! Very sad it is over.
Very passionate bout her subject. Excellent class, I learned so much! Would definitely take another class with her!
Very hard to approach in class and vague with what is expected on midterms and final, which are tough. Talking at all during lectures results in humiliation because she get mad and she's very hard to approach about questions.
The lectures are long, but she is really understanding and gives you a break half way through. She is really nice and as long as you treat her with respect she will give you respect. She really encourages class participation and don't hesitate to ask questions, she is really approachable!
Really mean and rude and expect to get a bad mark.
This was probably my favourite class in uni so far! She would hint at content when it was "a good question for an exam" and she gave good exam outlines. Our class average is very high compared to my other classes and she's very easily approachable, I'm shy so that says something. She returns the respect you give her and rude people were called out
Awesome prof!! She truly cares about her students and would do anything for them. Exams were easy if you attend every class, and do her reviews. I truly hope to have the chance to take a class with her again.
Bridget is passionate about the material and sincerely wants you to learn. Her exams were very easy but her assignment was confusing and graded tough. Also, if you are not one to talk in class I would not recommend her. She does not force you to speak up but if you don't this will be reflected in your participation mark
She is one of the most passionate profs I have ever had! Very approachable and gives helpful feedback on assignments if you take the time to meet with her. She points out important info on exams though was a little vague when it came to the final project because she wanted you to be creative. Would recommend taking a class from her 100%!
Bridget's passion drives the class and student participation. Her commitment to be invested in the material is an invitation to interact with ideas and realities that really matter. If only every prof was as dedicated and committed to students as her.
Bridget's passion drives the class and student participation. Her commitment to be invested in the material is an invitation to interact with ideas and realities that really matter. If only every prof was as dedicated and committed to students as her
Bridget is by far one of the nicest ladies I've ever met. She is extremely caring and will take the time to help you if you ask for it. Her classes are mandatory to attend because of all the open discussions that are had. You definitely need to participate in this class but there's minimal essays and exams are straightforward. Would take again.
Bridget Keating is a great prof and I am glad I had her for ENGL 100. She really took the time needed to help improve everyone's writing skills, skills that will be useful throughout university. She was also a very engaging prof who genuinely loved the material she was teaching.
Amazing Prof. I took the class because there was really nothing better to take. Honestly, I fell in love with this class because of her.
Bridget was the best prof I could have hoped for in my first semester for English 100. She was very understanding of how we were feeling at certain parts in the semester and helped us through every assignment thoroughly. I really enjoyed being in her class
Bridget was easy to talk to out of class and was always willing to listen to questions. Her lectures rely on the students reading the material and having an opinion. Unless you are an expert on revising essays as you write them and making paragraphs work before moving on to the next one, writing it three days before the due date will NOT work.
Easy class. 2 small papers (15% each), quiz (20%), 5 discussion posts (5% each), final paper (25%). Its all about colonization & decolonization. No need to do readings, as online lectures summarize everything. Texts are helpful to have just for referencing in assignments/discussion posts. No knowledge of art needed to get good mark.
Good Prof. Respects all students. Gives good feedback. Easy marker. Willing to help anytime. Enjoyed her class.
I have now taken two classes from Bridget and she is phenomenal. She honestly should have a permenant placement at U of R. She is passionate and gets you to think critically about the topics by engaging in current events and class discussions. Ive taken INDG 200 and WGST 100. If you want to be pushed, challenged and unsettled, I recommend 100%
Bridget is such a good prof. She is really inspired by what she teaches. Lectures are never a bore to go to, in fact it's probably my favourite class of the day! Would definitely recommend taking WGST 100 from her
I really did not enjoy taking this class. The material was way too dense for a 200 level class, and even though I have taken several WGST classes I found this way too intellectual to understand. She takes forever to get back to you, the assignment criteria is extremely unclear, and her grading is very tough. Would not take another class from her.
The lectures were kind of heavy at times but Bridget was such an amazing prof. She's incredibly passionate about what she teaches and makes learning super interesting. I always looked forward to going to her class. Super understanding, caring and open minded person. She's not a hard grader and gives back great feedback on assignments.
Class material was hard to understand. Very unclear on what she wants for assignments. Asked her for help to give me some guidance or suggestions. She ignored my questions and sent out a mass email to clear things up which made things more confusing. Emailed her again and she ignored it completely. Wouldnt recommend taking her class online.
Bridget is so cool. She makes the class really interesting. She has great slides and gives hints to what is on the exams. 2 midterms, project on your own & final is what your grade is based on. She gives great reviews & there are no surprises on the exams. You learn a lot & she teaches in all different ways (powerpoint, movies, lectures)
This is the best class that I have taken and its all because of Bridget. She is one of the most caring, respectable, brilliant, hilarious and generous profs at the U of R. I was out of the country during one of the midterms and she was accommodating. She has changed the way I view this subject matter and I can't recommend her enough. 11/10.
Passionate, knowledgable, and funny. A genuine person, and a strong, and caring person. She goes off on rants that aren't usually going to be test material, but interesting and relevant. Textbook didn't get used at all. One paper, two exams. Attend class, and study a bit, you'll do fine with this professor. She wants to see her students succeed.
Bridget is really passionate about her work , she knows so much and makes the class very very bearable . In essays she really appreciates critical thinking . Shes amazing .
Bridget is amazing and an incredible prof. She works hard for her students and is great at getting back to you on marks and any questions you have. She is informative and passionate about what she does. You will learn a lot and really enjoy her class! Take Take!!
Bridget is amazing prof!! Her lectures are very interesting, and she is passionate about what she teaches. She is very caring, and always there for her students. She makes the class interesting, and you learn a lot as well. Her exams are straight forward, come to class, read the text and do the assignments, and you will get a 80+
Bridget was incredibly unwilling to help, especially when I had issues with my essay. Her responses to my questions were shrewd and derogatory and ended with her telling me she was too busy to deal with me. I felt like a burden. Yet Im paying for the class (which was mandatory for my degree). I wouldn't recommend her.
I Took a WGST 100 with her. Do Not Take this class with her. She made the midterm so hard, even if u studied for it, you still wouldnt get good grades. WORSE PROF EVER. TRUST ME.
Amazing!! She is good at what she does and really cares about the topics that she is presenting. She encourages opinions for others and is not judgemental!! Personally took WGST with her and this was my favourite class of the semester!!
Bridget is a very nice lady however gets flustered in class. She gets mad at the class a lot for emailing her too much. Her material isnt too hard, however when it comes to essays she marks incredibly tough.
Bridget is very unclear with what she wants done. Always unsure of what to expect when going into her class. Tells people to ask questions but when asked, she makes you feel like a burden. Tends to be way off topic and very easily distracted. Did not have to look at the textbook once. Will not take a class with her ever again. Very unprofessional.
She was the best professor I have ever had. Bridget was funny and cared for her students. She made class very fun and exciting to go to. Both the midterms were not hard and the final wasn't bad either. She marks fairly easily. I would definitely recommend her as a professor.
Amazing Prof. really wants her students to succeed and cares about them. Make sure you go to the class since there is a lot of discussion and valuable information. Would totally take another class from her!! More Profs. could take pointers from her.
Bridget is the best professor that I have ever had. I was unable to make it to one of the midterms so she helped me find another time to write it. She really cares for and gets to know her students. She is highly intelligent while also being relatable. 10/10.
I had high expectations going into this class. The prof was very passionate about this subject but was not good with extra help when needed. She encourages us to ask questions, but when anyone asked she would dismiss students or get angry. She was unresponsive to emails throughout the course. Would not recommend her.
She is very kind and easy to approach. She is also very understanding when you have an issue or problem and will help you fix it. I would definitely recommend!
This was the worst class I have ever taken. It was online and I had never taken one before. She was barely accessible through email, and multiple times told me directly and the entire class to not email her or they would not get their grades back. She was rude in her emails to me and gave very little feedback. All the marking was weeks late.
At first it seemed like this class was going to be great. After the first few classes however, Bridget seemed to become disrespectful and rude but demanded respect. People were singled out for asking "dumb questions". She would often say there are "no excuses" but yet she had A LOT this semester as to why she couldn't grade in a timely manner.
She is so passionate about what she teaches, that you wont have to study because her words will be burned in your mind when you leave. She genuinely cares about her students and tries to arrange assignments in a way that one fail will not damage your overall mark. Great professor. Very caring.
At the start of the class I thought she was going to be great but I was wrong. She was very unprofessional and hard to talk to. She would often call out students who were asking 'dumb' questions and made you feel as though you didn't know anything. Never answered her emails and pretty much set you up to fail. No structure to the class at all.
She is a nice prof but her expectations for a 2nd year class are unrealistic. I felt like I was taking a 4th year class. She expects you to be well versed in everything she is well versed in (even though she is the prof). She gives 2-3 assignments a week and obviously thinks her class is the most important class. I would never recommend this class.
Bridget is the most amazing prof ever. After reading the reviews in here I kept looking for flaws in her but she ALWAYS answered my emails, never said a question was dumb, never ever made fun of anyone. She is very respectful and understanding. She gives super lectures, and goes out of her way to make sure you get good marks.
I thought she was an interesting, inspirational, amazing and kinda gorgeous prof. Lovely to listen to and nice to look at. What else could you ask for?
Poor professor, very tough grader, Very boring lectures.
She is a very kind and funny, I loved being in her class, she well prepares you for quizzes although she does mark hard on hand in assignments but the quizzes are quite simple if you attend class.
Very unprofessional, does not stay on topic, does not prepare you for the final. No structure to this class, continuously ranted about how men are always the issue. Obviously had way too much going on in her personal life to stay focused. Never replied to emails, made you feel dumb. Expects you to know everything already. Hard for a 1st year class.
Bridget is the most caring, accessible, passionate and supportive prof I have ever had. Her lectures are informative, she encourages everyone to participate, and holds great discussion in class. She offers many resources, will collaborate with you to help you succeed, and is understanding of personal challenges; reach out to her. Shes truly a gem.
Bridget is an amazing professor. She is a very caring & understand prof . She is helpful in & outside the classroom- very good at answering emails & replies with helpful information. She cares about her students & wants them to succeed. Her lectures are interesting & she appreciates if you participate & give your insight. I hope to have her again!!
This course was more like a 300 level WGST class. The final class average was 54.
Worst experience with Online classes, NO help at all. Not at all understanding of other's problems, always rude in emails (which were answered rarely), ranted on class emails how she is being treated badly and had time to email about her personal life (unprofessional). Posted all the stuff to analyse and watch hour long videos and doesn't teach.
I never goona this class. she was so rude in emails and never understand anyone's problem. I have the worst experience in this subject. she never gives a second chance to anyone and demotivates every time.
I came here only to say this - Never, and i mean never ever, take a class with this prof. Do NOT believe the positive reviews on here. Its probably herself doing those reviews, honestly. She is very disrespectful, rude in emails, uses her personal as an excuse to slack off, grades you like your a PhD student. And lastly, she insulted me personaly
I was very worried after reading all of the bad reviews and she is pretty great for an online teacher. She obviously cares very deeply for all of her students. She is a little hard to get a hold of outside of class sometimes but she received a grim diagnosis before classes started so I can't be too harsh. Take her online if you have to.
She is very dedicated and gives her time to make sure you understand the information. She has a wealth of knowledge which makes her lectures interesting.
Bridget is such an amazing prof and the four times she had Zoom classes were so fun. She genuinely cares about her students. However, do not expect to get high marks. She does not believe that marks should continuously get better. My first assignment was 90% and then from there went to a 60, to a 75, and so on. This experience seemed to be shared.
Professor Keating had very interesting and thought provoking lectures. I liked that the information was relevant and timely. I learned a lot in the class even though I thought I could have had a higher mark. She has high standards.
Bridget taught an amazing course with insightful content and assignments that challenged our views. The course was delivered greatly, she cared more about your message over grammar, and stood up for what was right. Bridget herself, pulled the victim card and blamed one's poor performance on her illness. It felt unfair to us but we had to accept it.
Bridget was very passionate and cares a lot about her students. At first I was put off by her strong personality but as I go to know her, I really, really liked her. Her class was a break compared to others and I would suggest you take this class especially if you need a class to boost your GPA.
Bridget is so caring and compassionate. She has amazing lectures and I learned so much from both her and the other students in our class. She facilitates lectures in such a way that it feels like a chat with your friends, and that made it really easy to remember the content. She does have high expectations but does everything to help you meet them!
Bridget is such a compassionate, understanding prof. Her lectures are fun and its easy for classes to warm up to one another and have great discussions. She is makes the fun topics exciting and the not-so-fun a reminder of how important what we are learning is. You'll have fun with this class and learn a bucketload.
Bridget is the most caring professors Ive run into! Im so grateful I took her class, she seeks to know her students and actually cares when they speak on things. She is chronically ill (not my position to say of what), and needs time for medical treatments, but always responds to emails. Went as far as to change the percentage for our midterm!
She talks about issues and topics that interest herself and have nothing to do with the course. Assignments and expectations are unclear. She asks for opinions but if you don't agree with her, your opinion is invalid. She can't manage student discussions and doesn't let all sides explain their point of view. You can talk only if U are on her side.
Unprofessional and rude. Never got back to me about anything or provided feedback even after requesting several times. Doesn't help students with their questions and problems.
Just awful! I didn't even bother staying in the class after the first few weeks.
Bridget is an amazing instructor and human. Her in class discussions are thoughtful and engaging. She is well vast in anti-racist education but I can see how some students who want go leave in a bubble could be uncomfortable to discuss these issues. I admire her patience and respect for everyone in class and how she carries everyone along.
I honestly do not know what I would do this fall without Bridget. She can be a tough grader but when you take the time to talk to her if needed, she listens! She has a lot going on and still cares so deeply for her students. Her class allowed me to make so many friends as Bridget is so welcoming! I searched her personally to take another class!
I do not know what I would do without a Bridget! She is funny and keeps the room alive! She’s a tough grader but I love her! I searched her to take another class with her! I made so many friends this year because she made everyone feel so welcome! I highly recommend her! With everything going on she still cares so much about her students!
Such an understanding professor, I've never had one who cares like she does. She remembered me from an online course I took before and even I didn't remember her.
Bridget is a strong willed professor who cares for her students, I always looked forward to her classes and I would love to take more in thr future. If you are a Transgender or Non-Binary student she will respect your name and pronouns which is always great in a professor.
I wouldn't say she's amazing, but she's not terrible. Professor Keating doesn't follow her Syllabus, constantly moving dates and not having any structure. She is passionate on what she teaches which is admirable, she does however seem to always find herself in drama which is not very professional/appropriate for an academic institution.
Professor Keating is an incredible professor. She genuinely cares about her students and the information that she is teaching. She is very passionate in all her lectures and leads conversation very well. I would recommend taking a class from her sometime throughout your studies.
Awesome prof! Really passionate about her subject. Make sure you watch the required documentaries!!
No structure followed. Her course is arbitrary. You can not review your exams to acknowledge and learn from the mistakes you made. There is no room for a contradictory debate.Course is quiz and exam-based. She was wonderful, she formatted her courses well and her energy was great. I always was interested in participating in her lectures, and looked forward to them every week.
Bridget is an amazing professor who is extremely passionate about the topic allowing for all students to be engaged throughout lectures. She makes a huge effort to get to know each individual student and refers to us by name. She embraces the different backgrounds of her students and allows for class discussion about the content.
Professor Keating is an amazing professor. The over all atmosphere of the class was great, her class allows open room debate and discussion. Her grading criteria is very clear and all the quizzes and exams are very easy.
Best professor
Bridget is a great professor that passionately taught the class material. She is understanding and wants the best for her students. If you go to class and watch the required media, you will do great in this class!
Bridget is by far one of the best professors that I have been instructed by. She is incredibly passionate about what she teaches and always pushes her students to look at the world around them with critical thinking. Furthermore, she values each and every one of her students for who they are and where they come from. Highly recommend this course!
With out a doubt one of the best professors I have had so far. I will be taking more of her classes in the future!
I loved taking WGST with Bridget. She creates a caring space for her students, and was sure to give a heads-up to everyone when the topics were going to take a dip into more serious stuff. Although she changed her plans, every Monday she send out an email containing the plans for the class that week, so we were never left in the dark.
My favourite class so far! She is super caring about students, I never felt lost in a crowd of people(takes time to know you!) Fair grader, gives great feedback, gives really good test outlines and no surprises. 100% would take another one of her classes. Her passion for this topic shows even in a 100 level class. :)
I enjoyed her class but the final was worth 40% which scared me but she gives out free marks for most of the tests. I found some of her lectures to be hard to follow as she would often jump around but she is very understanding and knowledgeable on the topics. I did see her yell at a kid for cheating.
I had the pleasure of taking wgst 100 with Bridgette this past semester. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the course and wants every student to succeed. Her lectures can be hard to follow, so you do need to pay attention. She is very good with grades, always curving the marks up even if it wasn't deserved. I would recommend taking her class
Great lady
Bridget is a great human. Answered emails promptly and had amazing discussions with her students. It was so easy to engage in her class and there was a welcoming vibe to her. Loved the class
I took her Intro to Women and Gender Studies course a year or so ago and still can't stop thinking about how great she was. Very passionate about the subject and very informed. She did lots of class discussions which I loved and was very encouraging. She was very accommodating whenever I asked for advice on coursework or asked for an extension.
I was a bit nervous to take Bridgets class as she came off very strong in the first lecture. A couple lectures in you quickly learn that her strong personality makes the lectures extremely easy to follow as she's super passionate and educated. Super accomodating and wants you to succeed. Would definitely take another course with her!
Bridget was an incredible lecturer, so knowledgeable about the content and more! So caring about her students, it was a 60+ student class but she made an effort to know all our names. Very discussion based, not forced to participate but your opinion and perspective is highly valued. Don't try to cheat or use AI, then she will ruin you (duh).
She's funny and engaging but very rude. She overreacts to any quick/quiet side conversation, making it seem like a huge disruption and embarrasses them in front of everyone. She's extremely power hungry and belittles students who ask questions, making them feel stupid. This is coming from someone on her good side. If I could I'd write much more...
Bridget is funny, and tries to get to know her students. However, she is extremely power hungry. If someone even whispers in class, she will call you out on it for the next five mins. Instead of trying to have a civil conversation with anyone, she uses her power and shames them in front of the class. She make a huge deal out of everything
Her classroom environment makes me feel uncomfortable and unsafe, and even her behaviour herself
I would say that Bridget is very kind and caring. She is very understanding and makes the course material easy to learn!
Very nice prof would take again
don't recommend her she picks on you for the littlest things that should't matter, so loud about it and try to embarrass you. She love using her power to put you down in front of the whole class only her favorite students are safe
Bridget is very passionate about the course subjects. She does her best to know the students and make the environment welcoming. The class was easy, she explains everything that will be on exams and is open to helping. At times she gets off track so be prepared to do your notes outside of class. When she calls students out it's scary for sure.
AWFUL, just awful. Is verry aggressive towards students over trivial things, disorganized lectures and poor instructional skills. She also tends to divulge students in her personal life which is verry unprofessional. Finally she is also prone to throwing temper tantrums in class, yelling and feet stomping included lol.
Will yell at individuals for invalid reasons such as asking questions and take up lecture time to do so. HOURS of videos to watch on your own time. Good luck on tests as you will be stuck teaching yourself most of the material even if you attend every class. EXTREMELY hostile. Lectures are hard to follow and she often gets distracted on tangents.
Throws hissy fits, and takes it out on others in the class or the Tech Support. Was discouraging seeing someone who is supposed to set an example act like this. I was never the target, but felt bad for those that were. Careful taking this class. She left me feeling traumatized and afraid to ask questions.
