Easy grader

This class was very easy, the papers were easy to write and the journals we kept every day were an easy grade. just come to class, do your work and you'll do fine

i like her, she is always willing to help you improve from your last paper and gives you a second chance to redeeem yourself. She is always smilling and appreciates hard work.

Bridget is very cool! She is the best teacher that I've ever had. She helps you a lot, just ask, don't hesitate! She knows how to teach and even if she is a tough teacher, she knows what she is doing. I love her style and she helped me a lot. I am happy about that class; however I worked hard on my grade- I got A!!!

If you aren't used to working for your As, don't take this class. If you aren't used to working, period, you're going to get an F. Bridget knows her stuff. Bridget gets really mad very easily, and she's not one for nonsense. Even still, if you try hard and ask for help, she'll help you along (don't expect any concessions though).

An extremely easy A, if you are willing to do the work. If you expect her to do the work for you, you are out of luck. Other than that very fun and definitely breaks the mold of a typical teacher. Give her a shot; take her class.

I really enjoyed this class. She is a little tough in her revisions, but that may have been because I took the Honors course. Class is really laid back and interesting to participate in. I highly suggest her, but don't take her if you're looking for a cake walk.

Bridget is a brilliant teacher. If you go to class willing to participate, you will have a great time. She is very laid back but does not appreciate slackers. If you are looking for an easy ride don't take this class. She will listen to anyone's opinion if they can make a good argument for it. She is more than willing to help if you work hard.

Had her for ENG 111,112, and lit classes. Hard but if you do the work and listen and be on time to class u will get an A. I got A's in all three classes

If you crave structure your probably in the wrong place. Classroom discussion is fantastic and Bridget rewards those who speak up.

I took her for H. Eng 111 & 112. She's a great professor. She grades "hard", but is just doing her job. I learned a lot from these courses. Lots of open classroom discussion. Very good at tying reading materials & assignments into the subject matter. Don't take her if you're looking for an easy A, but take her if you're looking to LEARN something.

Pool was one of my favorite teachers because she made me think. She was my first honors class proff and she encouraged me to participate more in class, which made me understand our topics more. She's not really as organized as some, but she gets work done. And she can be pretty lenient when it comes to due dates..sometimes.

Great teacher. Uses required reading to provide insight into the course goals. Workload is high but a good course if you want to learn something.

I liked the class a lot. The grading is relatively difficult at times, but she is always willing to work with you to help you improve. She's open to suggestions much of the time and class is rather lively. I strongly recommend this class.

Very good teacher! Attendance is mandatory, and you will be dropped if you miss 5 classes. I really enjoyed her though because she made class a lot of fun, and canceled class every now and then. She is a great teacher, I would highly recommend her!

One of the best english teachers I have ever had! Her assignments are creative & fun. The books you have to read are surprisingly good & interesting. She is a fair grader. Easy 'A' if you put in a honest good effort. Explains assignments well and very thoroughly. Her personality is very quirky. Fun exercises in class. The class is very interactive.

Ms. Pool gives activities that are very helpful in the understanding of assigned paper. she does everything to make writing assignments clear, also she assigns conferences and peer review that is very helpful in your paper. she always gives suggestions that is very useful in your paper.

Professor Pool class isn't that dificult. Just do the work how was wants it done and you'll be fine. If you need help just ask her, she can be helpful if your stuck. Sometimes her class can be boring, but it evens out because about every two weeks she will have conferencecs which means one of one time with her or a tutor.

I liked her. She is very energetic, very helpful. A lot of work, but a good professor. Very politically minded and a staunch Democrat, but she makes the class fun most of the time. Don't be late or absent. Do your work.

She was a hard teacher, but fair. She'll spend a lot of time trying to teach your how to write a proper paper, and will indeed fail you if you can't do it properly. Expect to write at least one paper a week, with a particularly tough research paper. She's a good teacher though, but can be mean if you're tardy/absent.

Professor Pool taught me everything I know about English. I was not interested until I took her class. She lets you have freedom with topics so class is not boring. Students must put in effort because she grades based on improvement throughout the semester rather than the standard quality of assignments.

I absolutely LOVED her in the Film & Literature class I took. She had an extremely funny and quirky personality. She really seemed to care about what her students had to say, so there was always a lively discussion. I had so much fun doing the screenplay assignment that I'm now considering a degree in film. :)

I took this class online in 8 weeks. She is very helpful and all directions are clear. It is a self driven course with normal ELI requirements of responding to classmates etc. The questions she asks force you to think so if you aren't prepared to do so, don't sign up.

Excellent! Goes above and beyond to help you understand. Loves to meet with her students 1/1 to work on writing. No textbook needed. Gives you chances to rewrite papers if needed. Brings in someone from the writing center to help out also. Take her and you won't miss a beat or be dissapointed.

Best Professor ever! She is such a people person and great communicator. We used the NY Times instead of a textbook. She is the best English teacher ever. I am signing up for her ENG 253. I heard it was also great from those that took it. Take her if you want an A and to learn.

Professor Pool was very straight up. She listed assignments, stuck to the schedule and expected work to be done well & on time. She made herself available to students via email or phone.

Professor Pool was great! She graded assignments fairly and offered feedback for nearly every assignment and missing point. It took a while to get some grades back but she was sick at one point so I cant say if that is usual for her. In all, Professor Pool made the class very enjoyable!

Fantastic professor. Makes you work for your grade and is very open to thoughtful feedback. Exams are essays that allow you to apply all you have learned--much better than the often useless MC exams. You can even bring a page of typed notes and quotes. Definitely recommend!

professor pool was very accessible and helpful. Her classes were interesting and she really listens to students. You can't be unprepared and act like your really knowing something if you don't. She is smart and nice and always responds to questions and emails. Also, she does assign homework and reading but this is college so it's not a surprise.

Professor Pool really helped me improve my writing. I never take English classes seriously and end up getting bored most of the time but her classes are fun and she treats you like her equal and will always listen to you but you have to be willing to learn.

Prof Pool does want to hear you talk in class. She wants you to participate. I'm pretty quiet in class and wasn't happy about this at first. But she's not harsh about it. pretty encouraging actually and it helped me a lot. the class was intersting and she keeps it pretty mixed up. pretty cool prof all around. i'd take another of her classes.

Not sure about why people think this teacher wants you to write like her. i think she just wants you to write. and she does expect you not to blow it off. but i learned more from this class then i had in most any of my other classes. good teacher, very friendly, happy to meet with you to talk things over, and pretty easy. really fair.

This teacher isn't easy but she's not hard either. She gives a lot of feedback on writing which i thought was helpful. you can't just hand in garbage. she won't just give you an A for that but she is willing to help you improve and i think that's pretty cool. i feel like my writing actually improves and there are some pretty cool class discussions.

Professor Pool was great. Really good teacher, really gets it. The quizes and tests are reasonable and she gives feedback on papers to help you along the way. I'd definitely take another one of her classes.

Professor Pool was an awesome teacher. She's really into rules during class so make sure she does NOT see your phone, and don't you dare be late or she'll call you out for it in front of the whole class. Other than that, she really was a great professor. She's really involved with helping students do their best and making sure they get the lesson.

Took her for English 112 and had no real issues until the end of the semester. She decided that the final paper in the class was going to be a "group paper", which meant that my grade on a paper was riding on someone who seemingly refused to read the assignment details. Other than that, not too bad. She will not let you miss class, so show up.

Lecture are interesting and give you lost of opportunities to participate. She is a fair grader and will give you plenty of help if you ask for it.

Its a challenging class but she is very helpful. Homework every week. Sometimes can be confusing but will explain If needed. lots of writing. DO NOT SKIP THIS CLASS you more than like missed something vital. The class is mainly composed of essays so if you do well with writing then you will be alright. She is more than willing to help with any of the assignments as long as you do your work, participate, and come to her if you have issues. She can't help if she doesn't know you're struggling. Overall, I recommend to anyone to take this class.

Professor Pool has interesting lectures and is personable with her students. She always plays music before class and picks interesting topics for students to talk about to keep them engaged. She is a tough grader so don't expect to do a huge assignment the night before and get an A.

She is a good professor kind of all over the place, but good. She is adamant that you do not miss more than one class (it was a hybrid course) and that you do not shoe up late even by 2 minutes. She also is not ok with people using phones at all during class.

The Professor makes the class fun by always being up beat and ready to go. The class isn't hard but since its a hybrid course expect to have a little more homework like weekly DB post's but nothing over the top. The class is great because most of the time you have options for what you want your papers to be based on. It's an overall good class.

Prof Pool helped me on the essays that she has assigned to me. There are about three essays in total. Makes you read two non-fiction books in class. Take it if you have time for it. Reading quizzes are given while reading. Honestly she actually cares about her students and their well being.

Very hands-on during class time and tries to help every student throughout the duration of the lecture. Lectures are easy, but homework is the key to passing this class. Long essays and multiple drafts are normal, but instructions are very clear, so you shouldn't have any problems.

She's fair and entertaining. If you put in some basic effort your fine. Participate in class, do the homework (there really isn't that much), don't be disruptive, be respective. It's a class, not a walk in the park or hell on earth.

This is a class that requires effort, no easy grade.

Professor Pool is a great teacher. She Encourages you to deeply analyze what your writing about, and really think about what your writing. Teacher is makes sure you understand where to went wrong in your assignment. If you are able to understand the feedback and turn everything on time this class will be no problem. Expect group work at the end.

Good professor tries hard to work with every student to make sure they are on the right track. She is very nice and funny. Blackboard is something that is used everyday!

All of the homework is on blackboard, and the instructions are all clear. She's a really helpful professor and always answers your questions if you ask. Since all the assignments are on blackboard, you don't really do much during lectures. This was an overall easy class if you do all your assignments on time.

Professor Pool is straight up just like super cool. Lectures just feel like one big group discussion and she doesn't force students to contribute to the conversation if they don't want to (which is really fricken nice okay.) If you take her for ENG 279 be prepared to read an entire book in two weeks (it's not that bad unless it's the orchid thief)

Professional Pool very helpful. She tries to know her students well and applies the knowledge to better help the student. Don't be lazy in her class, because she gives lots of class exercises and homework, some of them better help you on the actual assignment you suppose to submit. You work hard, you get the grade u want. Great professor!

The class was difficult for me due to my personal lack of time to complete assignments but I believe all the resources and professors ability to relay instructions were absolutely sufficient.

Overall a great Professor, at first she seems a bit intimidating, however you will quickly find out that she is a very fun and happy individual. As long as you show up to class, willing to participate, and ask questions in class or via email she will there for you.

The topic she brings up to class is very up-to-date. I did a lot of research in her class but I was happy with it. Conference was very helpful when you can get a feedback and progressions on your essay.

This my first time taking an online class, I will say I had a hard time adjust to this class but it was due to me not understanding fully how to submit assisgnments and I had to find a good family,work ,school ,study balance. But Prof Pool was always there when ever I had any questions. Take her class if you get the chance. I know I will.

Prof Pool is my idea of a great professor. She gives plenty of helpful tools to help make the work easy to follow and complete on your own. The theme of the class was Media in social and cultural contexts. The projects were thought provoking and actually interesting to write about, which is very refreshing when compared to your gen English course.

Great teacher. For a 200 level English course the amount of reading, writing, and participation is fair. Provides clear and helpful feedback on papers. For an online course, she is very active. Adjusts dates and syllabus if necessary based on class activity, provides extra credit. Do the work and you'll get an 'A'.

I took Professor Pool for both ENG-253 and 254 and she's a really pleasant instructor! The work load was fair, a bit stressful at the end of the semester, but grading and instruction was extremely fair and as clear as day. Earning a good grade is rewarding and it is definitely possible as long as you put in the work. Definitely worth taking!

Lectures are sort of silly. All homework is done online. Hey, if you need credit and an easy grade go for it. You write papers but whats new in college. She has quizzes/tests that are easy point boosts.

Professor Pool is a great instructor with an unorthodox style. She is a tough grader and requires prompt attendance or else you will not pass. I found that the class was pretty straightforward but make sure to keep up with the due dates for assignments. I would take her again.

Prof poole is a very energetic, helpful teacher. She is going to question you and make you reevaluate all of your work so you can improve. She grades very fairly and isn't a jerk about it. She also is very understanding if you need to turn something in late or just forgot she gets you are a human and will help you out. Dont make it a habit though.

Professor Pool was very helpful and seems to be excited and passionate about African American Literature, which helped me to be even more excited about it. I think I would have enjoyed an opportunity to be in a class room setting with her teaching, but this class was online for me.

This was one of the most rewarding classes I have taken and I feel that it really helped me become both a better reader and writer. Professor Pool always encouraged the class to think, analyze, and discuss. Grading was always fair, and Professor Pool gave feedback on essays and posts. There is a lot of reading involved, but it is all worth it.

Generally speaking, she is a good professor that cares about her students. You should be fine as long as you put in work and are passionate about the subject of her class.

Professor Pool is an excellent Professor I would take again if I could. She was very helpful and gave great feedback on papers. During the work time of each paper you need to go to meetings with her where she will help you correct and make your paper better which was very helpful.

No matter a rainy day or not professor Pool always has a great positive attitude towards teaching her students. One of my favorite classes this semester! She gives us sufficient time to write and edit papers, not much homework. Not a hard course. I love her conference class, which we meet one by one to edit our draft paper. It's very helpful for me to improve my writing skills.

I took English 112 in a six week summer course. Although the class was long, Prof Pool made it go by quickly. The class is really well structured and all of your work throughout the course builds off each other which makes the last few weeks a lot easier. She is very willing to help out in any way she can. Overall, great teacher, great class!

Prof. Pool is so nice and a whimsical person. She does assign a decent amount of homework, all you need to do is do your best on each assignment because every point counts in this class.

Prof. Pool is amazing! She takes the time to get to know her students individually and puts the emphasis on personal growth. I took her hybrid 6-week ENG 112 and although there was a lot of homework, each assignment could be used to work on the other and overall it helps in the long run. Her lectures/tips about writing are very useful and relevant.

Took a 6-week ENG 111 class with her. She gives good feedback, classes are interesting, I learned things. Would recommend.

I took the survey of African American literature online with Professor Pool. Professor Pool made it a priority to communicate with the entire class via email before and after every assignment. Her outlines for essay writing were greatly beneficial and she gave very constructive and helpful feedback! This course was incredible - take her!!! :)

Professor was overall great, she was just very opinionated with her feedback, I felt like she might've been a tough grader because of that. Otherwise she was pretty great, no textbook was used. She's understanding and genuinely a caring person. I do feel as though I gained some benefit from this class.

As long as you stay caught up on work she makes it easy to get a high grade with her detailed feedback and clear communication on assignments.

Tells you what she wants you to write on essays or discussion board and gives a lot of feedback on drafts before turning in real draft.

Every week there will be a discussion board where you will write a couple paragraphs and respond to two others. 2 exams: midterm is an essay, final is multiple choice plus short response. This class is HEAVY on writing, so be prepared. I'm not very good at it, but if you don't procrastinate and stay on time, you will get an A.

This class was tough. While I received an A in the course, I had to work with it. The class starts out easy with basic understanding of myths. As the course goes on, the assignments dive into critical thinking and analysis, with peer feedback. If you are an emotional/artful thinker, the class should be easy. Rational thinkers, it'll be tough.

Prof Pool was a very challenging and realistic professor. I felt challenged by the work and I came out a stronger writer. She is understanding and very fair in her grading and expectations. She is an engaging and knowledgeable teacher. I hope to be able to take a class from her in the future.

Professor Pool was a real pleasure to have as a professor. She truly cares about her students and wants them to do well. She will give the stand homework, great feedback, and constructive criticism. She gives extremely interesting lectures and likes to host debates on controversial topics so be ready to debate in class.

Professor Pool was understanding of students with other obligations and had assignments with reasonable due dates and work loads. As long as you attend class and give like 50% of your attention you should pass. Very nice and fun professor, definitely take her!!

Pretty straightforward as an English class. As long as you keep up with assignments and use the professor's feedback, you will get an A. Attendance is mandatory! There is a lot of homework though, so expect to write a lot lol

She is awesome and very helpful. If you do all of your homework, she is wonderful. She is very carrying professor and care about all of her students. If I find another course that I can take class with her, I will do it. I will wish all the best for her. I had zoom class with her, but she was available to answer my question any time.

Professor Pool is such a gem. She cares about her students and is always ready to help whether it be of you ask during class or email her. In class writing almost every class (towards the beginning of the semester), or given as homework. 3 big Essays you meet for one-on-one meetings with her to discuss and she gives AMAZING feedback. TAKE HER!!!

I took survey of African American literature with Prof. Pool and it was such a good experience. We never met on Zoom so it was discussion post and essay heavy so get ready to read and write. I believe the work is worth it because the course itself is very eye opening. I really enjoyed it :)

(African American literature class) Lots of short writing assignments, and a few longer essays. The rest of the class was discussion-based. Prof. Pool is very understanding, but she's no pushover. She respects the students and the subject matter, and was a total sweetheart. She really cares about her students and loves teaching. Take her class!

Take this class if you want to improve your GPA but make sure you do every assignment. Professor Pool is really kind and caring and makes the class very interesting. She is really nice and caring, by far the best English professor I've had at NOVA. She does give a lot of work but it's very easy and is a nice grader.

Prof Pool is a great professor. Class is structured and organized. Assignments have clear instructions. She provides outlines and examples for every assignment. The only downside to this class is the amount of reading and work. On average you must read about 80 pages and do 2 300-word response a week. Every class you will have to discuss readings

Many short-writing assignments along with two big essays (final paper and final exam - a reflection paper) for this class. Mostly in-class discussions. Overall, an effective professor!

I took Professor Pool's class completely online asynchronously and I can honestly say it was a great experience. There are 4 major papers, a midterm exam and a final exam. The professor was great with feedback on papers and made it clear what you had to fix on your rough draft in order to get a good grade. Overall easy A if you put a little effort.

Professor Pool was a great professor overall. Being such a basic course, I appreciated how she kept the work load manageable and also liked how she encouraged feedback and creativity on the assignments. I felt that she was there to help us, and she proactively checked in on us and welcomed questions. Overall, it was a fair and manageable course.

Prof Pool is a fantastic educator. She loves to engage with the class and give everyone a chance to express themselves. The reading & writing assignments are heavy, but if you talk to her about it respectfully, she is open to lightening the work load. She expects you to put real effort into your assignments. Not an easy A, but a really fun class.

I am still enrolled in this class, its about a month into it. I absolutely love her! Feedback is great, not a lot of work. She accepts late work for full credit.. just email her about your situation. She's super understanding! There are only a few major papers as well. She really cares about bettering your understanding of reading and writing.

Take her class don't be a bozo she is amazing you can't fail this class its easy just stay on top of your work and the work isn't that bad it's straight forward and easier than other classes. honestly if i could id keep takin g her all my years of nova 10/10 wont miss

I loved this class. The professor is really nice and her assignments are very straightforward, if you do the readings and complete the simple weekly assignments you'll get an A.

Professor Pool's class has been my favorite class I've ever taken at any institution. She requires you do read a lot, but the readings are fun and eye opening. She is very caring and is willing to give extra time on assignments if you ask. Participation is key in this class and attendance with cameras on is mandatory.

She is so kind and accommodating, she's an easy grader and the workload is light. I wish I could take her every year. She is probably the BEST English teacher I've ever had! She is very clear with her instructions & grading criteria. She is VERY understanding of each student's circumstances. If you keep up communication with her, she goes as far as allowing leeway for assignments! I'm a full-time college student & SAHM and she made this class a breeze!! Take her!

Professor Pool's ENG111 class is a gem - manageable workload, great feedback, and she genuinely cares about helping you improve. Unstuckstudy AI was a lifesaver for study prep alongside the free textbook. Easy A if you stay engaged.

Professor Pool was great. She really wants everyone to succeed and is really helpful to anyone that needs it. She's also fun. I laughed every time I went to her classes.

This is one of the best English professor I've ever had. Her lessons are so useful for major assignments (3 major assignments through the course). She creates smaller assignments that will help you complete your major assignment. Once closer to the due date she creates appointments to get personalized feedback which is so useful. TAKE HER!!!!!!!!!!

Professor Pool was so awesome. She had the class very involved, and we would lose track on time and before we know it would end. I had fun with homework readings and there were only 2 essays that counted as midterm and final. She was very patient and understanding, gives extensions for readings. Do not use AI to help you because she will catch on.

This proffessor was amazing! She gives great feedback, is very understanding, and overall is an easy grader. Be prepaired to read a lot.

I took ENG275 during the summer (Women's Literature). Professor Pool is lovely! She is a great listener and very understanding (you have to tell her beforehand if anything happens or she won't grade it). There is three readings, they are not super extensive, and you have to do a journal of 300+ words every week, and a discussion post after class.

I really enjoyed profs class. She created a very welcoming environment despite it being online. All assignments are pass/fail, it's not that hard once you understand what she's looking for. If your confused you can just ask her. Overall I'd definitely recommend taking her class.

I took her ENG 275 with her through zoom but it was not difficult. She does have homework every week and requires you to participate in class but honestly she makes you feel so comfortable that you don't dread participating. Her grading system is different but as long as you complete all your hw you will pass. I really recommend her!

Professor Pool is an amazing teacher and person. She created a clear outline of the class and sets reasonable expectations. A lot of the topics covered are emotional and I have to give her all the credit for creating an environment that is respectful, compassionate, and allows for expression and meaningful interaction with texts and classmates.

Professor Pool is a very engaging, lenient, and fun professor. I took ENG 111 and she made sure to reach out any time I was behind on an assignment. She had many individual conferences to talk about any questions I had and how I was doing. Would 100% take her again but her classes next semester do not align with my schedule unfortunately.

Take Professor Pool if you don't mind her political views. She give good grades - easy A or B. She veru busy with politics

Professor Pool has an amazing and lively personality. She is very understanding and gives great help in one-on-one. Issues include the heavy workload as if this is the only class, no percentage or number grading in the class and only checkmarks and exes.
