Mrs. Monk is a lady with a snobbish attitude sometimes. The class is alright. You get to meet other people in engineering. The projects are actually fun, but the two tests are a little challenging. She will work with you if you have a problem, but she comes off the wrong way sometimes.

She was my lab TA in GES 132. If it wasn't for her, I don't think I would've made it through the class. She was very helpful, friendly, and kind. She seemed to hate MATLAB as much as the rest of us.

She is a very easy and nice teacher. Both of the test are easy, but the projects are a waste of time. This class is good for meeting people and an A+ but that is about it. She is also a great TA in GES132.

HOT teacher! For the class, pretty straightforward, she tells you exactly whats gonna be on the test and whats expected from you. she can have "blonde moments" from time to time but nothing to worry about. miminal hw, 3 projects (2 little, 1 Rube Goldberg, big) - WE WON THIS YEAR!!

She is an awesome teacher, alot better than the other ones. You are gonna have to try in this class to get your grade but join your professional club and do the extra credit and go to class and you'll get an easy A.

She's super helpful and really nice. Plus she actually cares about her students.

She is a really cool teacher. Can be a bit ditsy at times, but she is overall a good instructor. Pretty easy tests and she is a lot better than the other instructors available for the class. Only complaint is the amount of time and work for only a 2 hour class. Beware; practice tests have little in common with the actual tests.

Great teacher and a really nice person. She is very helpful and tells you exactly what is expected of you. If any assignment lacks clarity, just ask and she is glad to help. Some assignments and/or projects may not be the most fun thing ever, but meeting people is worth it. Also, there are usually very helpful TAs in the class too.

I didn't really like her, she wasn't really good at explaining the material. Although it was easy, she just didn't do a good job of teaching it.

Mrs. Monk is a good teacher. She may seem a little bratty, but overall I like her. You use a clicker for attendance. This class is a breeze. Easiest of the ENGR's you will take. Do study hall hours, they'll help your grade.

Overall, a pretty nice professor; however, make SURE you have a working clicker every time you go to her class; she will have no sympathy. Even if you do forget your clicker a couple of times, so much bonus is offered that an A+ can still easily be made. This is an insultingly easy class.

Easy class. Basically all you have to do is show up. I actually enjoyed most of the lectures so it was not a problem. Easy A if you want it.

Class was ludicrously easy, but pointless. Only bad thing about her teaching style was she was so strict in such a substanceless class. Moved the final project's due date 3 times and only accepted it late for partial credit because of the overwhelming emails by confused students (she rejected my request the first time). Otherwise a fine teacher.

Great teacher, very relaxed and understanding. She can go on some rabbit trails, but for the most part she gives valuable insight on what an engineer is/does. Go to class and you'll be fine.

Easy class and A+.

Intro to engineering class is incredibly simple. easy A+. attendance is "required" but you can get away with not going a couple days. understand her point system early on and you can set yourself up for an A+ at the end of the semester before thanksgiving

Very good teacher. Smart, personable, and stylish. Teaches many of the engineering courses, you will learn a lot and she is enthusiastic.

Pretty much everyone I know hates the new ENGR 103 curriculum, so it's probably not her fault, but this class really sucks. She's very particular on how you show your work on tests and homework, and it's not always clear what she wants sometimes. She's very nice and willing to help though.

It's not as much her as it is the class. This new ENGR 103 course is awfully difficult, and since she knows this stuff, she's particular about what she wants (even if she doesn't tell us exactly what it is). Still, she's a sweet person and she's always willing to help you.

Monk is one of the two "good" ENGR 103 teachers from what I've heard. Stogner is the other. Basically all the other teachers are grad students and all of my friends in those classes seem confused. The curriculum has changed recently and its no longer an easy A. The class is basically an introduction to physics.

This class is really hard if you've never had physics. She expects you to already understand most of it before she teachers, so her powerpoints can be very unclear. Although, she is willing to help if you go to her office hours.

Professor Monk is a fantastic instructor. She really cares about her students and is willing to help out wherever she can. Engr-103 is a tough course no matter the professor you have, and the tests are the same for each professor but she makes the course so much better and more comprehensive. HIGHLY recommend her.

Monk is the reason I am engineering major. Took her class and loved every minute of it. Take her! She is the best engineering 103 professor. Its not an easy subject but I ended with over 100. The TA's grade homework hard so make sure its what they want. Other than that She was so inspirational and my favorite professor I have taken.

Professor Monk is a great teacher. Her lectures are easy to understand and she sets very clear intentions on what she wants from the class. The class definitely is not a breeze though. You do have to pay close attention in order to pass.

Prof. Monk is a very helpful and caring person. She wants to see her students succeed and does her best to set every student up for success. Attending class and completing the homework is important in order to succeed in the class as the material covered is on exams. Exams can be tricky but are easily doable if you study. Office hours are helpful!!

Bridgett Monk is probably the best professor who teaches 103 here. Despite what most people say about this class, it is not difficult. If you truly apply yourself, pay attention, and do your homework, you will have no problem making an A. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will miss a lot if you skip class too much.

Mrs. Monk is the best teacher for this course. The tests are made by all the professors that take this class and they are very tough. Must complete your homework to pass this class and you must show up. Good luck your gonna need it for this class.

Definitely the best teacher for 103. More than willing to help you if you go to her office hours. She gives clear examples in class and makes an otherwise difficult class pretty easy, as long as you show up. Attendance is only "mandatory" for group projects, but she takes attendance everyday.

Mrs. Monk is a great teacher. She is very helpful if you have questions. She really wants everyone to understand the material and will go out of her way to make sure you get it if you are having trouble. Definitely would take her again for a different subject

Mrs. Monk wants you to get a good grade and will help you, but her grader is terrible. I've been receiving terrible grades on quizzes that I have the right answers on because of how poor the grading system is.

Professor Monk was super helpful and was obviously there to make sure you understood everything. The nature of the course is rather difficult, but she does a great job of helping every student. Getting a good grade is very achievable if you go to class and occasionally do the optional homework assignments. Tests can be difficult if you don't study.

Most of her homework assignments are optional, but her graders are very particular about how you set up your assignments which can make it hard to get good marks on some assignments. She's helpful and expect pop quizzes.

She's one of my favorite teachers that I've taken. Her lectures are clear, and she gives quizzes at the beginning of class instead of mandatory homework problems. If you pay attention to the lectures and work a couple of the suggested problems, the quizzes are a breeze. She is very helpful, and wants everyone to understand. Takes attendance also .

If you're taking 103, by far choose Monk! She's nice and will try her best to help you. Her lectures are concise and even though there's 5 min in-class quizzes, there's almost no hw and they're really not hard. In comparison to the other teachers, definitely the better option.

Class is the same for each teacher so the teacher doesn't matter a whole lot, but she is by far the best 103 teacher. Took honors and it was the same as regular. Graders can be kinda tough on your labs and such. Pick a good lab partner or you're going to be doing the work by yourself. Tests are tricky towards the end of the semester.

She is by far the best 103 professor. She is super sweet and is always willing to help you! This class is kind of tricky, but going to office hours and doing the optional homework problems were life savers. I would absolutely try and take her class if you can!

Best teacher I have ever had!!!! I had her for ENGR 103 and she made the information easy to understand. The concepts were short and sweet. Straight to the point. This is the weed out Engineering course and she made this one of the easiest courses I've had. When everone else said it was their worst!! I'm praying I can take her in the future!!!

Mrs. Monk is a great teacher. She is easy to reach and is always willing to give you extra 1 on 1 time if you need it. Every ENGR 103 class is essentially the same so focus on getting the best teacher. I would highly recommend her, but the class is tricky. Do any extra homework that she tells you to do at the end of slides they really help.

BEST ENGR103 TEACHER. She's so nice and caring and doesn't assign a lot of homework. She does do pop quizzes, but if you look at the lecture ahead of time you'll be ready. Some material on the test will be from the textbook, so skim over that.

From what I have gathered, Monk may be the best ENGR 103 professor out there. She was very clear and explained the material well, making it more than possible to pass. The tests could be tricky if you don't read the questions carefully. However, all ENGR 103 classes take the same tests so don't let this deter you from Ms. Monk.

She's the best engineering 103 teacher there is and her students always do the best on the tests. She gives a decent amount of homework and marks off on the little things like formatting but if you pay attention and do the work there's no one better than her.

Probably the best professor I've met as my third year at UA. Clear presentation, funny, clear outline, moderate hw/quiz load, plenty of bonus opportunities, exam sometimes can be tricky but you have everything you need to get A.

Mrs. Monk is a fantastic teacher for this course. Compared to the others I have heard, she is probably the best you can get. She is a tough grader, but that is because she wants you prepared for the real world, and to me that was fair. Very nice and considerate, and 100% gives you the potential to do well in a moderately difficult class.

She is very nice and helpful. She does a great job explaining the material. The tests can be annoying, they are MC and some can be confusing, but she is not in charge of the tests.

Many people say that ENGR 103 is the weed out class for engineering students. If they think this, they were not built for engineering. Monk's class was not difficult if you payed attention and did your work without relying on others to do it for you. I received an A+ in the class quite easily, and honestly I should have payed more attention.

Had Monk for ENGR 103 and it was super easy. She doesn't over explain things in class since a lot of it is stuff people learned in high school, but she always makes herself super available for anyone that has questions.

Really good teacher. Took her for ENGR 103 over the summer and currently taking her for GES 255. She explains pretty well, the tests can be kind of difficult but she's always willing to help outside of class and if you go over her notes, you should do well.

Monk made this class very easy. I liked her and felt bad I always fell asleep but a lot of the information covered in ENGR 103 is things you most likely know from other classes (vectors, free body diagrams, unit conversions/etc.) The homework was easy and not very time consuming. Tests had 105 points but went in the grade book out of 100.

Professor Monk has been my absolute favorite professor so far. Unlike other 103 professors, she gives detailed explanations to in-class example problems. She also gives several out of class extra credit opportunities and an extra credit sign in sheet two or three times a week in class. She is a very fair grader, and I highly respect her.

I felt as if the class was fair and that I learned a lot. The tests were sometimes difficult, but multiple teachers create those. I liked her examples and she was great at explaining concepts. I felt like she really liked her job and the class made me excited for my future in engineering.

I loved Mrs. Monk as a professor. She cares about her students, is super approachable, and doesnt waste your time in class. The tests arent the easiest (they are the same no matter what teacher you have), but she gives enough extra credit to balance a bad grade out if you have an off-day. Go to class, study, and you should be fine!

She is my favorite professor I've had in college by far. I loved ENGR103 with her and would highly recommend taking her. Her lectures are great and the grading isn't too bad. Definitely go into her office hours if you need help, I did many times and she made me understand anything I didn't get. She really cares about her students. TAKE HER!

In comparison to the other professors I had to choose from for ENG103, she was probably the best choice. In terms of her actual teaching, she mainly just read from a PowerPoint, although whenever she did problem examples I found them to be pretty thorough. Still, I found the information from the class to be kinda useless to CS, my major.

Bridgett Monk is an intelligent and caring professor, which is rarity within the College of Engineering. Many people consider ENGR103 to be a "weed-out" class without understanding what entails with the subject material. Just do the work and be consistent with studying and formatting your work. She is easily one of the best instructors at UA.

She certainly cares about her students, making an overall good class atmosphere. This is a hard class. You have to work for that A. However, she makes the information you learn much easier to understand. Overall, just work for your grade, do the homework, and you'll probably do fine.

Prof. Monk is a very experienced engineering professor at UA. She is very organized, stays on schedule, and provides all the tools you need to succeed in class. I would recommend taking her if you appreciate a structured class with a thorough schedule and syllabus. Make the effort to see her during office hours and get to know her!

Monk is easily the best professor I have EVER had. She does an amazing job at explaining things and always prepared me for the tests. Take her if you can. As long as you go to class, study for the tests (not a whole lot if you know what's going on in class), and do your homework - you will do fine in her class.

Had Monk for honors 103, she was great! She is picky with units but if you're careful with units, then you be perfectly fine! Her lectures are good and to the point, and she has many real life experiences that she shares with you throughout the semester, highly recommend.

Prof was a great teacher and was super accessible outside of class if you needed. The material is kind of challenging just because you've mostly never seen it before but she explains it pretty well. You definitely want to go to class, esp Fridays for possible extra credit work done in class. Be neat with your HW and you should be get all your pts.

However, tests are insanely hard and things are graded very harshly. Your grade really only depends on tests. Definitely a weed out course and they do not make it easy.

Super accessible and good at explaining concepts. I'm a computer science major and not good at physics, so this class was not my favorite, but Monk is a really great professor for this class! Was always available for help outside of office hours when I emailed.

She's very cool! This is a problem solving class, so be prepared with using critical thinking. Monk is the opposite of scary. She's also very easy to listen to during lecture. No issue with this class whatsoever. Just pay attention in class, do the practice tests, pay attention for lab, easy peasy.

Take Monk if you want to pass this class! She is very caring and very helpful outside of class. This class is difficult but Monk makes it easier to understand with only 50 minutes of class. Tests are very hard so do practice problems she gives you. She does take random attendance grades. If you don't show up to class and listen, you won't pass.

Best 103 professor by far. Was consistently more prepared for tests than my peers, though she assigns a bit more work than other profs, she's very accessible, knowledgeable, and good overall.

Professor Monk was one of the highlights of my first semester in college. Her lectures are easy to understand and she has a wonderful air about her. She is friendly and will help you if you ask for it. Some topics are difficult to understand, but Prof Monk makes then easy to understand in my opinion.

She is a great teacher. She communicates well and tries her best to explain things to us. SHE DOESNT DO POP QUIZZES nor formula quizzes like some of the other teachers. I would definitely take her again.

Easily got an A+ in this class because of her I believe. She is really good at explaining things, but attendance is mandatory so that's a slight downside.

I took her for ENGR 101. This class itself was really easy. I will say she is a tough grader though. If you miss one thing in an assignment, she'll take 10% off your grade. She is really accessible outside of class and usually responds to emails within a few hours, if not early the next day.

I took 104. Ms Monk is a very nice lady and explains material well. The class itself was tough, although, it is a brand new course so I'd give it some grace. Tests make up 50% if your grade and only 21 questions, even 4+ wrong will hurt you. They gave no study guide so you are on your own beside lecture questions. There is a LOT of material.
