Disorganized and Discourteous
Very disorganized, which will work if you're a slacker!!!
Unorganized but easy to dupe. Probably the hottest prof. in the department.
Excellent lectures! The reading material was also really good. If you think you need help her office hours are always helpful.
This class was just awesome. I know my life has just changed listening to professor Davila lecture. Every time I need any assistance professor Davila was more than willing to help me out. Davila's attention to each student guarantees a passing grade. :)
her work was easy and her lectures are great, but she is very disorganized. you must stay on top of her inorder to make sure that you are doing good in her class
Very unorganized and too dependant on technology that never seemed to work; emails, blackboard, and powerpoint projector. But good class content, interesting and modivating speaker, and you get credit community involvement in class.
Davila is one of the best profs. at SFSU. She really helped me realize new potentials in myself. I highly recommend this class to all.
I have taken her twice and have nothing but wonderful things to say about her. She is active in the community and is very interested in getting students involved in and outside of campus. YOu get the grade you earn in her class
This class is great for students who have a little initiative. It was very clear & really explained the Latino experience with US government. I learned so much. It is easy to get lost in this class if you are not a self starter because Davila had something like 300 students Fall semester.
I took her online class this Fall and the entire class only did three assignments the entire semester. This was due to her inexperience with online classes, she ended up not even following the syllabus. There was no midterm or final. In the end the entire class received an automatic A.
I took two of her classes. She wasn't organized at all. She never follows her syllabus. I think that is the reason why she is so easy. You end up not doing any assignments really but near the end of the semester she will cram everything in. I was lost throughout the whole semester. I didn't learn anything at all. Very boring!
Prof. Davila rocks the house! She is an amazing Prof, mentor, and friend. A good person to talk to and always willing to help.
Great teacher with a great attitude. She made me feel very comfortable, I enjoyed her class.

Her cyber raza 205 online class is a joke. This class is an easy A. however, even though davila is helpful and considerate, as a professor she is dull and unorganized.
She is very unorganized. This is not good for everyone involved. If you set up a meeting with her be careful sometimes she doesn’t show up. Her grading can be fair from time to time but overall make sure to follow up on your grades. She seems to favor students that are involved in the community service project.
Cool teacher, if you stay on her good side, you'll be fine in the class
She has an awesome personality and is really flexible, however she is really unorganized and confusing at times. The only that hard about this class is figuring out what to do and when to do it.
I thought the class was interesting but boring at times. Davila definitely has her moments and some funny stories! she can be a bit unorganized at times. You must become very familiar with ilearn but the quizzes were pretty easy.
take her, easiest teacher i took at state, her class is once a week, everything is online and all test are open book since its all online. take it if you want a easy A or B!
Very nice and helpful person. Cares a lot about her students and makes herself available during office hours.
i loved her. she was awesome!!! she is a really involved teacher and loves to help her students. she is always available for questions and is very smart. took her summer class and it was medium easy. a little reading and big but easy project.
. the class is easy, and she does a good job of teaching it for the mot part. her politics and ideals come out way too often in class.. and she tries to pin down anyone with a different view.. but what do you expect its san francisco. lots of extra credit opportunities.
Class is easy because there are a lot of extra credit. BUT hands down..the worst class ive taken at sfsu. extremely unorganized. makes a lot of latino references and does not explain them, singling out the non-spanish speakers. does not keep you up to date on how you are doing in class. does not reply emails. extremely useless class. stay away!
I don't understand how students think that she is a great professor because she is extremely unorganized, never available and no one ever knows whats going on in her class. She uses a lot of Spanish words singling out the non Spanish speakers. Don't ever take her class unless you are familiar with the Latino constitution n history!!!Horrible class!
easy class
loved the class, must do the readings to get a good grade. easy if you put the effort in and aren't lazy. prof davila really knows what she is talking about and gives LOTS of opportunity for extra credit. take this class and learn a lot.
This is the only early morning, three hour class I have ever enjoyed. I can't say that I learned too much (just as much my fault as was her's), but I think sometimes you just want to take a class that relaxes you and makes you enjoy yourself rather than has you at home desperately trying to pass. Do the community service project, it's wonderful.
Davila is a little unorganized and all over the place. But the class is a breeze and not painful at all considering its a 3 hour hist/govt class. You have the option of doing a 10 pg paper or CSL. The community service option was the best part; it was easy, fun,and a great experience. Easy A, i would recommend it to everyone.
I really enjoyed this class and i had no interest in government previously. Davila is pretty funny and has great stories. She will tell you herself the class is not hard. It is designed for lower div students with no previous experience. You have to read or attend class to get an A, however. Fun class
Davila is pretty funny. The class is easy if you stay on top of it. I am vting now - thats a new one so I guess she was effective
She is a funny teacher, but she is very disorganized. if you want any kind of feedback you need to go to office hours. Overall easy class, at the end she gives a lot of extra credit points. Make sure you attend class daily.
She is very unorganized.u have timed online quizzes every week which requires u to do the reading, so u are able to pass. There is also a 10pg paper to write or to complete (30hours?)of CSL. The opportunity to do the CSL was the only thing that made the class interesting. There is a group presentation at the end, whether u did the paper or CSL.
I don't know what these people below are talking about. She was extremely organized! Her class is super EASY. She has a good attitude and encourages participation. Assignments were online mostly, and she does a lot of credit/no credit quizzes. take this class for an easy A!
She was very helpful and so kool.Had her for the summer and she coteached the class,i wish she didnt do that bt we read use only the course reader, simple group work films mid&final online. extra credit was the glossary list, she teachs with powerpoints everything is posted on ilearnz
Davila is an awesome teacher! she is very passionate about her work and is really down for la raza! take her you will not regret it
Davila is a character and a cool teacher who makes it easy to go to class. The work load is light and not challenging. Great class for gov requirement. she loves her work and has fun in her classes. She is the most unorganized prof I've ever had,so if you need structure in a class don't take her but overall i'd recommend her.
She is nice as a person but she is a horrible professor. The most unorganized professor I've ever had the misfortune of knowing. Hard to understand her assignments, doesn't do things when she says she will. Would NOT recommend her at all.
Trust me, you do NOT want to take her class.
She is the most unorganized professor i have encountered in my years of schooling. she sucks, she doesn't make herself available to her CSL students and never does what she says she will do.ive emailed her countless times and never get a response.i should've just done the 10pg paper instead of doing the CSL option with her. do not take her!!!!
Wonderful, engaging, funny, intelligent woman. She should have a podcast on government and La Raza. NOT teaching a class. The class has zero structure (no real syllabus) and relies HEAVILY on technology she doesn't understand! End of the semester and almost nothing is graded. I've never been so clueless/feared so much for my grade. Sorry, Davila <3
Sweet, funny, very nice lady who was approachable and understanding. However, she is chronically late to office hours and class, does not reply to emails, and is not clear on assignments. I like structure if u do too then stay away from prof davila
I felt cheated oUt of my A this proffesor never graded anything on time an constantly had to be told that she had given no credit for credit that had been done. BOught reader and book and never used them.
She's just plain boring. She doesn't answer emails so don't bother. And she's very uncoordinated. I didn't enjoy this class at all. Boo!
I can't believe people don't like Davila! Her class is sooo laid-back. She loves discussions, short online assignments, & a presentation or two. Her class is one you should take during a hard semester -- because you can totally get an A without having to stress about it. I recommend her!
If you are interested in public policy or public service take her! Accordingly if you are in need of internships take her! Unorganized but a great educator and if you yourself are organized you will have no problems. Best way to contact is her is via TEXT which she states the first day of class! I did so and always got timely feedback.
Will hardly ever respond to email and so disorganized when it comes to dates and assignments but easy A class. The "textbook" was useless and everything is on iLearn. She's an easy grader too. Extra credit for EVERYTHING!!
I think Davila is great. Very easy to talk to and helpful. She is slow in responding to emails, but she will tell you that the first day. She also said she had something crazy like about 300 students! Best way to reach her is by text or office hours. Very helpful and the class topics are interesting. I learned a lot from this class.
DAVILA IS GREAT! Her class is easier than kindergarten. SHE IS THE MOST DISORGANIZED PERSON I HAVE MET IN MY LIFE! Other than that just pay attention, she'll tell you what's on the midterms and everything and it's mom is online.
davila is the best. extremely disorganized which always works out in your favor, extremely nice, easiest A yet for me. DISCLAIMER: WITHOUT FAIL, SHE WEARS BLACK AND RED EVERY DAY.
I took this class to satify requirement, but it was very interesting. loved the work in the community and now understand role latinos play in california politics. davila is very funny. Be warned -- she has a million studentsPS could not enter text above -- we used US Constition: a graphic adaptation plus a reader
Interesting class, but once again very disorganized and will barely respond to emails or texts. Other than that, good class to take to satisfy requirement.
She's a really cool teacher and she makes her class really fun. She has so much energy and excitement that she makes you interested in whatever she's teaching. Her class isn't like other classes where your just hearing her talk over and over and over again. I love all her classes and there not very homework demanding
Her CyberRaza class was not difficult at all. Rarely went to class did a few online modules and did a average job on my final and still managed to get an A.
She is unorganized and random. She would assign some assignment and we wouldn't know until last minute. Doesn't really teach about critical thinking. It's more like Latino Studies with a bit of critical thinking. She as a person is nice, but how she teaches the class I just can't understand. And we barely use the clickers (those cost 44 bucks!!)
Unorganized. Impossible to contact. Doesn't respond to emails. Class was a complete disaster with students who never shut up and were "threatened" to be put in a separate class but she made no action. Didn't learn anything. Seems like a nice person, but you should probably avoid this "critical thinking" (basically latina/o studies) class.
Really boring class, powerpoints every class period for the whole 3 hours. She takes attendance at the beginning and end of class.Your final project is either a 10 page research paper or 20 hours of volunteer work plus other written work. Midterm/finals are online, consists of 2parts: 2 short essay questions and 15-20 multiple choice questions.
I barely went to class and just submitted my homework and classwork online. Her references are towards her profession, which is Latino/a studies so I didn't really understand most of her teachings. Thats why I decided to stop going to class. She isn't as organized as her red and black outfits everyday so thats a plus! Overall pretty cool teacher
Sweet and funny lady, but veryyyyyy disorganized!! Boring class but I still think it was better than having to take American Politics.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. Honestly, Davila does not have her stuff together . Her classes are useless and she rarely tells you when an assignment is due. I would NEVER recommend or retake this class with her as a teacher. WASTE OF TIME.
She's a little unorganized. She's also passionate, funny, fair, and inspiring. Awesome teacher and my favorite this semester! Down to earth and expectations are far from unreasonable. Very few people in our class gave over the minimum effort and they all did well. Offers lots of extra credit. Easy class but get those 20 volunteer hours done soon!
She's a funny and interesting teacher!. BUT shes super disorganize, that can be a pro or con depending on how you look at it. Davila takes responsibility for her disorganization, for example she will extend due dates. Other thn that she's really funny and love the color RED =]. Attend to her office hours! she will delp you alot!
Passionate & knowledgeable, as well as disorganized, lacking clear structure and unresponsive to e-mails. Enjoyed the CSL opportunity (20 hrs min.) working w/Project Connect. Davila's teaching method has been poor for me.
Awesome teacher just a little too unorganized. 20 hours of community service or a research paper. I did the hours because it seemed so much easier - and it was! She gives a lot of fun assignments like a scavenger hunt. One online midterm, one presentation, and an online final. Pretty easy if you ask me.
Davila is unorganized but she knows the material. She is really bad with telling you whats due so be sure to check iLearn constantly! She will put up assignments and never tell you about it :( You need an iClicker for the first couple of classes. 1 online midterm and final and one easy semester project.
If you're a student who needs their hand held and needs a lot of structure than this class isn't for you. Go to her lectures, participate, and do the work. You'll be fine and come out with a good grade. Interesting topics, passionate about subject, and cares for students learning. She's cool, and found this better than taking US Gov.
Unorganized, cancels class often, and boring lectures. Just do all the work (easy) and you'll pass.
At first i was kind of hesitant about the volunteer work that was required for the class (it was either volunteer work or a 10 to 12 page essay) but i am really glad i volunteered because i learned about stuff that i never would have learned otherwise. If you put in the time and effort you'll pass the class no problem.
Super easy class, meets once a week. Even though her lectures may not always be exciting for everyone definitely show up to class every week. Get started on your semester project ASAP!!! Exams are all online and open note, but don't underestimate them really think your answers through
Amazing person, but her teaching style was just not for me. Disorganized and all over the place. I really like the subject, but just not with her teaching it. Her class was not difficult but for me she was just all over the place.
Not a hard class. She gave us a semester long project which was our choice of an essay or 20 hour community service with journals and a presentation for finals. 2 online open notes multiple choice tests based on power points she puts on ILearn. Plus 3 essay questions for the test which you can get out of doing by scoring high on her Jeopardy game
Don't take her class unless you're ready to be surprised at the end of the semester that you're missing a bunch of assignments that were never brought up. iLearn and midterms were outdated, she didn't bother changing them before assigning them. Awesome person, terrible professor. I have never had a professor be so unorganized.
Easy A class as long as you show up to get the info. She's unorganized, but that often means due dates get pushed back or assignments get cancelled. Assignments can be hidden in the ilearn feed so make sure to check the feed carefully so you don't miss any and ask her in class for the specific due date. Essays are doable and projects are simple.
You'll never get a hold of her even with phone call or text, she never replies. Don't fall into the trap like I did, unless you can already gotten an certain YES from the organization or program your going to volunteer at. Prepare before hand !!!!!
She is not open to other opinions, extremely disorganized, you never know what's due. She's a nice professor, we had good discussions, but not worth risking my grade because she's not clear on her instructions.
I took this class online over the summer. Really easy and unlike other reviews, she was always easy to contact and she explains everything with what you are not clear about. Easy online work, just do the work and you get a good grade, simple as that, nothing too hard or challenging.
the book is only used for your group presentation, she will not teach you anything but you will be tested on the group presentations about the book. very unorganized, you won't know your grade until the last 3 weeks of the semester. the app is a waste of money.
she is extremely disorganized, she hasn't put anything into the gradebook yet and it's finals week already. You can find the book online. Easy class but it's a draaaggg. TopHat is a waste of money I wouldn't buy if I were you, we don't use it for anything and it is confusing to navigate. Interesting topic, but the class is boring.
Davila is in one word feisty. Read the readings in order to understand what the lesson is about and take advantage of her office hours so she can help you improve your work if you are struggling.
Failed her class because she claimed I didn't turn in my final. Despite providing proof that I turned in my final paper, she never changed my grade and now my GPA is much lower than it should be. Should mention that for the final she allowed for a paper or volunteer hours with a presentation of 5 minutes. I have a full-time job. Go figure
Honestly this was probably one of the worst classes I have ever taken because of the professor. She is super unorganized, doesn't grade ANYTHING on time, makes you buy a book only to use it in a group presentation, makes you spend money on an app we barely used. Never grades papers on times. You'll never really know what your grade is tbh. horrible
She was really unorganized and in a Latino Cultural Appreciation Vs. Appropriation class instead we talked about the 2020 election so I felt that I was in government, not a Latino Communications class. She tries to be funny, but she's nice if you're nice to her and show up. Always stay on top of things cause she's messy.
She is very unorganized but a nice person, she is an easy grader but you need to stay on top of what is due when.
Completely unorganized. often posted links to assignments that didn't work or posted the wrong quizes to take. Every week I had to contact her regarding something that was wrong and had to wait to do assignments. She also just didnt show up to class one day with no attempt to contact us and never graded our final papers.
Shes amazing just extremely unorganized so good luck with never knowing where you stand. But she does have office hours where you can ask about anything including your grade
The class itself was pretty easy. You only had to answer questions on top hat and youd get full credit. For the final, you can choose to do 15 hours of volunteer work or you can write an 8 page research paper. You will have assignments throughout the semester that lead up to the final. Good luck! I wouldnt take this class again.
