for a communication professor, she needs to work on her communication and people skills.
GREAT TEACHER :)
Try not to answer any of her questions or have an opinion that she doesn't like...if you do she will look at you like you are a complete idiot. For a one credit hour speech class she takes it entirely too seriously.

just work and you will be fine
Interesting class.
She's a cool teacher, but expects you to do your work, show up to every class, and participate. The class is pretty easy if you study for the test and prepare for your speech(2 of them).
would not recommend her. she's a poor communicator (interesting considering she's a communications instructor), is rude to those that don't agree with her, and is defensive. i'd also like to see her be more considerate/consoling to those that have a difficult time with this subject. if speech is not your forte, pls look elsewhere for in instructor.
i'll admit that at 1st look mrs. robinson may not seem like the most approachable person. i will tell you this though. if you take the time to talk to mrs. robinson before or after class, she will always be willing to help you. she goes out of her way to help her students. the class is much more relaxed for me because she helped ease my fears.
She takes offence easily, considers EVERYTHING a personal attack (exact quote from first day of class: "When I give you handouts, smile and say thank you or it will hurt my feelings." She wasn't kidding.) Her lectures don't correspond to syllabus or the book (book sucks--can't study from it). She's preachy and condescending. Don't take her.
I never knew where I stood with her--got an A but wondered how I did it. She seemed hostile toward our entire class and angered easily sometimes over weird things. If you like living on the edge--take her class.
What the hell is her problem. She comes to class with a chip on her shoulder and belittles anyone who asks her a question. She seems angry at the world and ready to take it out on anyone who has a question or comment. Lame and boring class!
Only 2 assigments, they're on what SHE, not you, chooses (environmental issues) and she is very oppinionated. she talkes down to you if you do not agree with her. I seen her do it to a few people in my class. She doesn't care how you do or anything to do with you. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!!
She'd only likes to talk of topics about herself
There will be those that will say she only talks about her own issues. But, if you probe deeper, you will realize she is demonstrating the importance of critical thinking. The issues she talks about are not half as important as how she sparks analytical thinking. Make no mistake, you have to work HARD. But, she acknowledges that hard work.
This teacher pushed a personal political agenda on her students instead of actually teaching the class. She frequently assigned group work and sat at the front of the class reading a book, doing as little as possible to assist students. The only grades are for speeches, and her limited feedback makes it impossible to tell how you'll do.
Mrs. Robinson is a good teacher. the first week she came off hard and mean but she loosened up and helped out anybody who asked for it. don't take her if u don't want to work for your grade and want an easy A! not going to happen. but you have to work for your grade.
Mrs. Robinson is a great teacher if you take the time to talk to her. She makes class interesting. She is very fair and if you do the work, follow the examples she gives, and put some effort into the class you will do great.
The most unpleasant class I have ever attended. She has an extreme liberal bias and will not tolerate dissent. She takes everything personally and forces students to choose her specific speech topics, even if they would really rather choose another topic.
Mrs. Robinson is an amazing teacher and an amazing person. She adds depth to her class, which few professors do. Not to mention she has many views that students could learn from.
Her tests were really easy, just study all notes and READ ALL CHAPTERS! easy A, just do the journals, participate in class discussions, and do well on the speech. Awesome teacher
Interesting once you get to know her in a good way. Extra points for attending all classes. Tells you what will be on test, so just do your job and study. All in all good experience.
Mrs. Robinson is not a very nice teacher to me. She will ask your opinion on a particular subject and when you tell her how you feel about the situtation, she will holds it against you if you don't respond the question how she wants you to respond. I did not enjoy her class at all and informs every student I come in contact with about her.
A very tricky teacher. She has lots of knowledge to offer, unfortunately, her bitter personality gets in the way. I would not recommend her as an educator. She asks for your input and opinion, so that she can slam you with hers. She counts off if you do not participate in class, but you can never be right. Very frustrating!
Ms. Robinson is a GREAT teacher and if you will just read the chapters and take notes you can't lose. She seems stand offish but she is just very professional and wants you leave her class with some education not just an easy A. She does respect your opinion but she wants you to see the other side of the coin.
A bit intimidating, but knows her stuff. Stick to your work and you'll do fine. I would recommend.
She makes opinionated statements and poses them as "facts". the mini quizzes are 10 multiple choice, some fill in blank. if you have a question, you'd have better luck understanding another student in class. the teacher is very soft spoken, sit in front so you can hear, she has a bad attitude everyday, lacking communication skills, easy A though
Mrs. Robinson might say things u might not like but she is a great teacher i got to admit the first week i was a little scare of her,but after sitting in class i learn A LOT from her than i learn from almost all my teachers so far.Just study read the book, write 2 outline and 2 speech, and u will do fine, some mini Quiz 10 questions
I think she's a good teacher. Some people in the class didn't like her but I did.
This teacher is one to stay away from. She will talk you down, from her opinions on life. Thinks everything she believes is a fact. Comes to class everyday angry. Never ask her questions, unless your wanting to debate. Grades on if she likes you or not. Class seems to be a place for her to whine about life. You leave there mad everyday.
I absolutely hated her class. The "mini-tests" were ridiculous. All this being said, she does recognize the hard working students in the class, if you come to class and work hard on your speeches and outlines, you will do good. Although I did do great in her class, I would not reccommend taking this class, find an easier professor, she expects ALOT
If you are a weak person, she will know it. I highly respect this woman. I learned more in her class than I have in any of my other classes. I'm not speaking merely of text book education, but she will teach you how to express your ideas and thoughts. If you know what you are doing, she will realize. She feeds off of other people's fear and I admir
I have to admit the first week she came off very intimidating. However she explains everything clearly. You'll walk away from this class having learned useful information. 2 speeches and 2 outlines. Speeches are easy going. you are required to dress up but they are very low-key and easy going. EASY CLASS if you do the required work.
This is my least favorite teacher. I have tried giving her a chance. She is very soft spoken and seems like she's about to cry when talking, yet she teaches public speaking. I asked for help and she just belittled me. She must enjoy making herself feel superior over other people. I'm considering retaking it with another instructor. This is horrible
OVER OPINIONATED, UNDER QUALIFIED, OVERTLY ARROGANT. Robinson is fresh out of grad school. She has this mind set that since she's the teacher, she has limitless power. Treats students like they're in middle school. Assigns a lot of busy work during class hours while never really teaches. Expects you to know the text book word-for-word.
She is a great teacher. Not easy she holds you to a high standard, and she knows her stuff. If you are wanting to learn how to give a good speech take her.
I seriously don't know why anyone would bad mouth Mrs. Robinson? I enjoyed her class very much I did the required work, and scored well on the speeches. I'm sick and tired of Pensacola State College students ****ing so much about teachers. Maybe you aren't made for college.
Good teacher, tries not to waste everyones time since she knows the majority is only there for the credit. She is a serious lady and rarely smiles. You'll need tough skin for her class; she likes to tell everyone they're wrong and then give her opinion. Ace the quizzes and you'll pass the class. Easy grading on speeches:)
She knows her stuff and expects a lot from you. Just do the work and you will be fine. overall, she's a good teacher.
I just took her class & I really liked it. I think she is intereating. She tries to get you to look at both sides of an issue and there will always be some people that don't like that.
Does it make sense that a ?self proclaimed computer illiterate? (I have the e-mail she sent me to prove this) and an ?I?m not an IT person?, should be teaching an online class? As a sophomore at PSC (3.8 GPA) getting ready to graduate and move onto UWF in the fall, this is by far the WORST instructor I have encountered at PSC, both inside the cla
Mrs. Robinson is the best teacher i have ever had! I am so serious! Her class is the best and she really makes you think and be the best you can be! And i dont know what people are talking about she smiles all the time and shes never mean just truthful! :) best teacher ive ever had! I love you mrs robinson! :D
Dr. Robinson is a great teacher. I took her online and she was very helpful and organized. I used to think online classes were a joke but dr. Robinson definitely changed my mind!
Dr. Robinson is a phenomenal teacher. She seems to be extremely strict & mean, but she is the best teacher I've ever had. Don't take the class if you expect an easy "A". Take if you want to meet the objectives and become a better speaker. Overall, I loved this professor. I would take her again if I could.
She appears to be very mean and strict, but this is just her "business" manner, watch closely and her personality comes out here and there. YOU MUST READ FOR THE QUIZZES! Besides that, she is really easy on grading papers and speeches, not harsh at all.
Dr.Robinson definitely wants you to do your best but that is what makes her such a great teacher. She's my fav prof so far. Thanks Dr.R:)
Good teacher. Very organized and I never had a problem getting a response from her.
Take my words and read carefully. She is a horrible teacher. Unorganized, she doesn't respond to emails, and when she does they are absolutely no help whatsoever. She is the worst teacher I've ever had. Don't take her class
A very good teacher. Loves what she does and that is ruin lazy students lives. If you actually READ THE BOOK, then you should have no problem with this course. Provides helpful, prompt feedback that will help you learn the material. Quizzes(same as tests)are difficult, but reading the book and doing well in your three speeches will get you that A!
This is not an easy online class but she will help you. Just know that she will not listen to excuses.
RUDE!! She tries to make herself & her class seem more important than it is. She belittles students & tries to embarrass you when you ask questions. She talks down on "Community/State colleges" (although she teaches at one) & tells her students they wouldnt be able to hack it at a University. The hardest part of the class was biting my tongue!
Good teacher. Doesn't like laziness but will go out of her way to help you if you try. Whatever you do don't tell her to shut up. someone in our class made that mistake and I don't think he will make it again.
Quiz given each week on chapters in the book. You have to be able to deal with someone who wears their doctorate well. She will advise you that PSC students have it easy. Make sure you can tolerate different views because she will test you and your thoughts. My thoughts are you have to be strong-minded to deal with her.
She's a good online teacher. In fact, I learned a lot which surprised me. She gives lots of feedback on assignments. The one thing I did not like is that she does not allow you to turn in work whenever you want. Everthing has a due date..
Refuses to bother looking at something to see if she actually did it. Emailed her three separate times on different issues, and assumed I was just wrong and didn't bother checking it. Errors on quizzes, incorrect information, and forgot students in team lists. Sources the incorrect info to prove you are wrong without reading over it.
Very clear and fair. Good teacher.
I took her in a short term, and I thought it was a very well organized course. She is also quick to return work.
She is not a nice teacher, she talks down to her students and does not help them. I do not recommend her.
This one actually teaches a college level class. I loved it. She is tough, but you learn a lot. I felt proud of my work!
She is not welling to help or return email messages at all. Her studies does not match to what she be teaching. So you will never understand her at all. Do not take her she makes things very hard and not easy to catch on or to understand the lesson.
I do NOT recommend taking Robinson. I'm not sure how she is in person, but if you choose to take this course online, you'll be very unhappy. Her grades are unfair and she is unclear when it comes to why she gave you a certain grade. Her rubrics are unclear and her directions are confusing. She responds to emails late and with unhelpful responses.
She is one of the worse teacher to teach this subject. Nothing she teaches involves with the lesson at hand. Her notes are nothing comparable to the book at all. She is a very hard teacher even at grading does not give any insight of what the lesson plans is about.
She’s the best that you will get at PSC for an online speech teacher (which is disappointing). She did grade erratically, I got a lower score on my best speech than I did on my worst. You will also write a lot- outlines, critiques, and discussions. I eventually ended up with an A, so I don’t consider her to be completely unreasonable.
You must be self motivated in this online course. She did respond to my emails and there is a lot of information posted to help you with the course.
They brought her in after they fired another teacher. She was a lot harder. I learned more because she was more on top of things but it was also a lot of work for a one credit class.
Not an easy class. Her quizzes are hard, no one did good on the quizzes because she makes you read 40 pages (+) and then you get quizzed on 10 random questions. But she does grade easy on speeches and gives you realistic feedback that is meant to help you become a better speaker. You actually learn from her and feel good when you pass her class.
she doesn't give you your quizzes back. so you never know what you make if you don't ask her. The quiz are a major part of your grade for her.
I was scared to speak but she helped me to feel better about it.
She's tough and she knows her stuff. Overall, I enjoyed the course, but it was alot of work.
She is the definition of instructor. She is there to help you learn. She isn't bias so don't try and suck up. Do your work, come to class on time and study. She is very fair. If you have questions she will answer them. This is a professor that I didn't like at first like but now that the class is almost over I fully respect her.
I took Dr. Robinson for speech online during B session. She was very clear on what was expected for our speeches and gave outline examples. Also, gave constructive criticism to our speeches and was never rude . Dr. Robinson was encouraging in our initial discussion of being nervous. Reading was needed and made tests easier. Dr. Robinson was amazing
I thought I would not like her, but I did. She is a good teacher!
This class was one of the best online classes I have taken. There are only 10 assignments, not including discussion forums. 3 speeches and 7 quizzes. You get 30 minutes for each of the 10 question quizzes, which is awesome. However, the class itself is a little disorganized, and the instructor does not often communicate with students.
I took Dr. Robinson for public speaking and she was really good. She knows her stuff and makes the class interesting. Shes definitely official and comes off as strict but is cool once you get to know her. Her quizzes are out of the book and not entirely covered in class so make sure you read. Other than that you have three talks.
Dr. Robinson makes her expectations very clear, which makes passing pretty easy in my opinion. I had her for a short term so it was pretty condensed. I enjoyed her very direct attitude though!
I took Dr. Robinson for Public Speaking but i wouldn't take her again. She's very blunt and often doesn't care what you have to say, she will make sure you're in the wrong. She gives pretty good feedback along with classmate feedback at the end of the semester.
I took Professor Robinson online. Due dates are unclear, as well as assignments. I take 90% of my classes online and have NEVER had such a hard time figuring things out. I do not recommend.
So confusing. Nothing in that class was clear and whenever I would ask a question she looked at me like I was speaking another language. She is respected, but not for me.
DO NOT dispute a grade with the teacher. She will make you pay for it for the rest of the class. The materials she provides say one thing, she tells you to do another. She doesn't even provide partial credit if you do complete the assignments. Either you do it 100% correct or you get a zero. It's not worth the frustration.
Quizzes are a a complete guessing game. No matter how much you study, there's still a large chance you will still fail. She treats students who have opposing opinions extremely poorly. The lectures consist of her preaching her opinion as fact.
Dr. Robinson is the worst teacher ever. She does not go by her syllabus and if you have a question she will not answer it and tells you to look in the syllabus or modules. She is not a fair grader at all, her opinions are terrible. I felt that from the feedback she gave from speeches that she was not even watching my presentation. Don't recommend!
Teaches an actual college level class.
Class is tolerable if she likes your class. Quizzes are based solely off book information not on what she lectures and are a guessing game most of the time. There's 6 quizzes and 3 speeches, but she offers 30 pts. XC at the end of the semester. Pretty funny and cool if she opens up to your class.
Dr. R is a decent teacher, but this course is all over the place. We'd have a quiz on something she lectured on three weeks ago and our final 2 speeches were 2 weeks apart. She does play favoritism A LOT, so get on her good side. Study hard for her quizzes via the book and this class should be a cake walk for you.
Online course is extremely poorly written and disorganized. Hard to find information that is referenced. Missing information. If you ask the teacher questions, she just refers you back to the information in the course. Poor feedback on the first speech. Only two speeches in the course. Takes offense if you ask how they are graded. No rubrics.
Dr. Robinson was a really great teacher! We only had 3 speeches and they weren't that hard. Do your part and you'll get an easy A.
Dr. Robinsin was a good teacher. I took a condensed class and it was still pretty easy. There were only three speeches in total. If you do the work you'll get an easy A.
I have never had such a terrible experience with a professor at PSC. At first, she's very likable and then becomes super rude and two-faced. She brings up controversial topics to get a rise out of people and make them feel belittled and disrespected. She's a tough grader and spends majority of class talking about her personal life. Don't recommend.
She's a college professor for sure. Same sort of teaching I got at the university.
There were only a few assignments in this class, but what you do is sufficent, if you did anymore assignments it would be too repetative. She's really nice and will share stories with you. Be open to hear about every viewpoint in a situation- but I liked that.
Dr. Robinson is a calm and knowledgeable professor. I enjoy her lectures, as they are in well put-together power points that go into impressive detail on each topic covered. There is a lot of discussion in the class which turned out to be enjoyable, a great way to share ideas, and chance to learn from the experiences and views of others.
Good teacher and easy class. I only had 3 speeches and two exams. Wrote good feedback and is very caring. Highly recommend taking the condensed version of the course as it has very few assignments.
Public speaking with Dr. Robinson is the only class that I have felt the need to withdrawal from (and I can put up with quite a lot). It is extremely hard to get a clear answer from her and her zoom lectures were quite boring- just didn't keep my attention for 2.5 hours. This class was just very stressful when it should not have been.
Idk whats up, but the new one sucks.
