You use McGraw-Hill Connect for all homework, quizs, test & final. Tests & Final are recorded through Tegrity Software that you have to use. Group final project at the end. Hes not really involved & is aweful at getting back to you. Plus he makes you like and follow his marketing things, which I think is ridiculous. Class was meh...
Professor Griffin is great, I took the Principles of Marketing class from him and loved it. You should expect lots of group work (in class) and little homework. There are quizzes on the reading once every week or so at the end of class. The lectures and group assignments are fun and engaging and make you think outside the box. Fun class.
He does a good job of integrating what you learn into actual real life activities so you gain an actual understanding of the material instead of just textbook knowledge. If you put in the effort you will get a good grade in this class
Really good teacher! Makes the class fun with different group activities. All work is on canvas and you are expected to do the readings outside of class. You actually learn the subjects that he teaches!
Professor Griffin is awesome, you can tell he really is passionate about teaching. His accent is sweet and makes listening to lectures a lot better. Expect lots of group work, fun group work though. Attendance is required and almost every assignment is done in class. I really enjoy going to class, he keeps you really engaged.
I liked the class, it is fairly easy and there is not much work that is required. The class itself is half lecture, usually half group activity which can be pretty fun. There are quizzes based on the readings (and a little from the lectures) but they're not super hard. The midterm was not too hard, but I studied a fair amount.
This is a hybrid class. If I had to pick a fav class to attend it will be this one. He makes the class interesting/fun. He is knowledgeable in MKTG. Homework, quizzes and exams are online. You're in a group the entire semester and you might think that's bad, but I really like it (I usually dislike being in groups). I recommend this professor.
Overall Professor griffin is a great teacher. he's engaging in class and uses his dry humor to the advantage of the class to spruce things up a bit. his projects and assignments aren't too difficult but i like the way the education experience is set up. You probably won't learn crazy amounts if you super into marketing, but still a good class.
Professor Griffin is a great teacher. His class is super fun and engaging. He does not lecture much, instead we do lots of small in class group projects that are actually really awesome. He does have lots of quizzes, about one a week. But if you do the reading and pay attention in class, they really aren't that hard to pass.
Professor Griffin is an awesome teacher! He is good about getting back to you through email and makes class enjoyable! It's a hybrid class so we only meet once a week but each class is great. We work a lot in groups and do fun activities to help us understand what he is teaching. There is a bit of homework/ quizzes online but they aren't that hard.
Professor Griffin is a great teacher! So glad I took his class. It is highly centered around group work in the class which normally I dont like but I had a great group. This class is very interactive. He has good teacher immediacy. I feel like I learn a lot but with out having to do a lot of extra homework.
One of my favorite Professors! Teaches very simple and easy to reach out to. He is very informative and does well with engaging students learning. Definitely recommend taking him!!
Not too hard of a class, the lessons are pretty fun. There's not a lot of homework which is nice! He has a lot of experience so it's good to learn from him.
The class is very lecture heavy. Pretty much every class period is a lecture on the material. He doesn't always cover all of the material of the chapter; he expects you to read some of the material on your own time. Attendance counts very heavily. You will work in a group all semester. There are lots of extra credit opportunities.
Lot's of group projects!
This class has been really fun and as a bonus I've learned a lot. Professor Griffin knows how to successfully give examples and group projects that make what we're currently talking about applicable.
I have loved his class. You do many group activities that requires hands on work, but is easy and helpful. Lets you know the material you will need for quizzes. Easy and fun class.
Amazing professor, always take the class from him!
More specific
Attendance is mandatory, but the material is solid, as long as you study. The grading is reasonable and the class is one of my least stressful courses I have taken.
Great teacher. It's nice to have a professor who actually has done work in the field that they are teaching
He is really great
The activities we do in class really give us hands on experience
This class is really chill and interactive. He'll keep you busy with great learning activities, while minimizing lectures. He also has a sweet accent from South Africa. Easy to listen to and makes it fun.
Good teacher knows his stuff! Class is fun and insightful
very nice guy. class is not that difficult, helps if you actually go to class.
Great teacher with an awesome South African accent.
Awesome dude! If I had to take the class I would take him again.
He works hard to make sure that you get the best grade possible. Also you take the test at home so bonus.
Great professor! A good balance of work and fun. Easy class but I still learned a ton. Professor Griffin has a lot of real world experience that he brings into his teaching style, always has good advice and lessons the help you in your career.
Prof. Griffin is awesome! He explains the course material clearly and usually covers what is in the tests. However, it is still important to read the chapters if you want to receive full credit on the quizzes/exams. He's in marketing so he's pretty good and cracking jokes and creating activities that keep you engaged.
The best professor when it comes to business. Not only is he a great professor but he also believes in my business plan and has given me the resources needed to be a successful business owner. Great sense of humor, very understanding, and his lectures are simple and concise. Lots of extra credit opportunities.
Super cool guy, knows his stuff. Does marking on the side so his course material is up to date. Would take a again.
Super cool dude. His class is pretty easy, but you also learn a lot.
He is a very funny easy going guy. But is also a great teacher.
Only posts assignments the day of, so if you like to plan ahead... you're out of luck. Canvas is not a reliable source for assignment requirements, so ask questions in class.
Pros: Fun class, the readings and quizzes are easy, his lectures are very focused and will prepare you for the tests/quizzes. This class will not drown you in homework. There's no research paper. Cons: There are group projects. He has a pretty thick South African accent, but if you pay attention you will understand him 99.9% of the time.
Hey is a pretty chill teacher. Grades on attendance and the homework isn't bad. He does a quiz on every chapter and some of the questions you won't know if you don't read. But overall great teacher
Awesome Professor, lots of easy quize's. Tests are easy
Amazing, the best, in the world
I am very impressed with this teacher. I really enjoy his class and would definitely take another class from him.
Really awesome teacher. He has a cool accent and shares cool stories and examples. This class is focused on group work and teaching us how to market in the world of today. Very beneficial class.
Professor Griffin is a great teacher. Works in the industry and is knowledgeable about what is applicable in Marketing today. Great class, I learned a lot more than I originally anticipated.
You do a lot of hands-on activities that help you understand marketing.
Nice guy, fun class for the most part. Not too hard.
He's a good professor who does his best to help you out. He does have quizzes on the text book, so make sure you have it and read! Attendance is also mandatory and is part of your grade. He is willing to help you, if you go and talk to him. Just pay attention, go to class and you'll do just fine.
Great professor. He knows what he's talking about and the assignments aren't bad at all. He's knowledgeable about the topic because he's still working in this field. He wants you to succeed and he teaches very simply. You work in groups which is nice.
It's cool to have a teacher with experience in what he is teaching. The class stays pretty entertaining and isn't super difficult.
This class was one of my favorites at UVU. Professor Griffin is a great teacher and his lectures are lively and interesting. There is a lot of group work, and hardly any homework. Just make sure to read if you want to do well on the quizzes.
well knowledgeable, not very helpful.
Great professor who teaches and has a job in marketing. He teaches the things you need to know.
Good Professor who cares about his students. Each day in class was interesting and involved students participation. Most of the work done in this class was done in a group yet did not much additional time outside of class.
Hes a great guy and knows his stuff about marketing. Hes been a marketing manager so he has a lot of experience in what hes teaching about. One thing I struggle with in his class though is that quizzes are random and were never given notice of the quizzes coming. This makes it very difficult to prepare for them and can be a bit frustrating.
Go to class, pay attention, and do the homework and you will do just fine.
This professor was pretty great. He gives a clear idea of what is expected, and as long as you attend class you'll get a good grade. I would definitely recommend him.
Mr. Griffin is a great teacher that is passionate about marketing. He has years of experience and often applies it to what we are learning. Pop quizzes on textbook chapters are frequent, so be sure to read before you go. There are lots of group projects done in class, so the lecture time is usually engaging! Tests are usually online. Great class.
Good guy and knows his stuff. As long as you participate you will do well in the class.
Super chill teacher, pretty easy class, all you have to do is read, participate, and show up and you'll be able to pass.
Great teacher. Nice guy and uses a lot of personal experience with his current marketing job.
I think this professor is amazing. He is very inclusive with international students and try to create the best environment for us to have a great experience and learn comfortable. He is very clear on what he wants and expect from students, easy going, active classes, good personality. I recommend him for sure!!
YOU have to take this class from him (MKTG-335G) Dr. Brigham Kimball Griffin. is Amazing. he really cares about you as a student. I WISH I HAVE TO TAKE MORE CLASS FROM HIM. HE IS THE BEST. Thank you, Dr. Brigham Kimball Griffin, for your Knowledge.
He is nice to every student and gives a good feedback whenevr I got question. Definately will take anither class from him!
Great guy. Easily my favorite class this semester. Just do the assignments and show up. You should be good
He's an actual marketer, and not an academic, so I learned some practical marketing lessons. Good guy, good class.
He is a nice guy and all, but there are a few things he could work on. Firstly, canvas. It's extremely difficult to find assignment. It is also a class that will make you feel like you're in Kindergarten again. We legit played with Play-Doh last class. The in-class activities are seldom relevant to the online readings, yet attendance is graded.
The professor always comes prepared to the class. Always able to answer questions when needed. Sincerely cares about the students and wants to see them become successful.
This class is pretty easy. Just need to do group work and you should easily get an A.
very good and understanding
Awesome teacher, works as a director of marketing for a local company so he has a lot of awesome real world application. 10/10 would take again. Not an insane amount of work.
I thought that he was a great professor and that he made class interesting and fun.
He is very diffrent from my other teachers, a very passionate teacher.
Keeps you engaged in his class, by having you do group assignments in class, and asking questions to the class about certain topics. Their are quizzes each week from the chapters you read from the text book. If you are not a good test taker he does grade on attendance everyday so that you can enjoy his class without the stress.
He is super chill as a person and does in-class activities that are applicable and engaging. He cares about students and asks for feedback on how he can do better and what would improve the class. He works in marketing (teaching is not his full-time job), so he has lots of real-world experience that he shares.
What I appreciated most about Brigham was that he very experienced in Marketing, but he was never a "my way or the highway" kind of guy. Always asked for feedback on how he could improve and is a very humble man. Listens to everyone. You can ask him any question and he's happy to answer and re-explain concepts if need be. Great guy, great professor
Great professor! Teaches the concepts very good and makes class fun. As long as you show up and listen you will get an A. One group project at the end but its super easy with a good group.
This class was great. There were a few assignments every week and they were easy to get done. One big group project at the end of the class, but that is pretty easy as well, especially if you have a good group. Professor was on top of it and always would help in any way. You will want to take this class online through Brigham, trust me.
Brigham is amazing! Take any class you can with him. He does take roll so show up to class, but he makes it interesting and fun. Lots of little group assignments throughout the semester and one big one at the end. Quiz about once a week and then the tests are just like the quiz. He really cares about his students and teaches real life situations!
This class was awesome! Lots of reading (understandable for an online class), quiz and activity with every chapter - not too bad! Awesome professor, he even cancelled the final exam so we could work on our group project.
Good guy. Slightly disorganized but good teacher. Lots of discussions and group lectures/presentations but not hard and a good choice.
Pretty easy class. You have to pay for McGraw-Hill Connect, which is stupid, but you can find the info for all the quizzes on Quizlet, which is fantastic. There is a pretty hefty group project, but he gives you plenty of time to work on it and if everyone does their part, it usually isn't too bad. You can also access all of the assignments early.
He's a great professor! I think the class structure was very organized and easy to follow. I think he's passionate about what he teaches and genuinely cares about his students' success. I would recommend taking this class with Griffin and MKTG3600.
He was a very good professor, but he gave group projects during pandemic in an online class and it was tough. I am very much a get things out of the way so that I can accomplish everything I need to type of person. It was a disaster because my group would not participate without the peer pressure of being in person. Great class, butmaybe not online
Overall I enjoyed this class! He is a very nice professor and sends out emails of encouragement quite often. The assignments aren't too hard as long as you stay on schedule. There was one group project towards the end of the semester where you have to write a marketing plan for a new product. It isn't too hard as long as you have a great group!
This is the second class I have taken from Professor Griffin. He is very organized, so nice, and has amazing lecture videos to watch each week. One group project at the end of the semester, but not too hard with a good group. Exams are a little tough and there isn't a study guide, so you are on your own with studying. Overall a great class!
Professor Griffin is amazing. I've taken three college classes from him at UVU and he is a phenomenal teacher. He's incredibly quick at responding and he definitely knows his stuff. If you ever need help with anything, he will help. I've gotten easy A's in all three of those classes. As long as you put in effort you'll do great.
Professor Griffin was one of my favorites this semester. His International Marketing class is very interesting, with lots of opportunities to learn from other students as well as him. You can tell he's passionate about it and welcomes questions. He also got us treats for Valentine's Day which was so nice.
Such an easy and nice class, you do need to read but the answer are easy if you just read. the teacher is super caring and nice and will answer so quick! I would take this teacher again easily!
Best professor this semester. Brigham has an amazing story and is so caring. He really knows his stuff! This course is remarkably easy, yet concise. Not a ton of work, but a decent group project at the end. I really loved this course and couldn't imagine a better professor to teach it. Do yourself a favor and take his class, you'll love it!
For a services marketing teacher, Professor Griffin can't organize his online canvas courses. Assignments in different sections will have due dates that overlap each other. Discussions follow a confusing format where you can only discuss things with a selected group. He's a nice guy, but his courses have been more frustrating than needed.
There is a lot of group work, which I didn't really love. But he was a nice guy and very knowledgable. His Canvas is laid out in a really weird way and so sometimes it's hard to find things or make sense of what is due. But overall it was a good class.
Professor Griffin was a good professor. His canvas is very organized, so it's easy to find everything and work ahead. There was a lot of group work, which I didn't love. Some of his assignments require a lot of work for only 5 points, but the exams are pretty easy. He's a very kind professor and puts in a lot of effort for his online classes.
Professor Griffin is very knowledgable in his field, but the class has a few issues: 1. Due dates within modules are not arranged well by date (some assignments are out of date order). 2. Unclear grading criteria within quizzes. The class has overlapping content and he is looking for extremely specific answers. 3. Very heavy courseload.
I believe Professor Griffin means the best -- but there are definite issues with this class I did not face in any others. The two main ones are that his grading criteria is not 100% clear, and that due dates within modules are not arranged well (easy fix). He also has assignments due the Sundays at the beginning and end of Spring Break (cmon man!).
Prof Griffin grades you on things not in the instructions or rubric, and grades harshly. You are expected to read his mind. He has a policy that only 1 person/group in all of his sections will get 100% on an assignment. The final project is a heavy part of the class. Textbook is "optional" but he expects you to have read it.
I really enjoyed having Brigham Griffin as my professor. He's very caring and genuinely wants you to succeed in his class. If you make the effort to contact him regarding questions or difficulties he is very understanding and will do his best to help!
Professor Griffin means well I think, but the assignments are awfully confusing. Quizzes are confusing and the questions lead you to think that it is one answer, but it is something completely different. If you could take this class with a different professor, DO IT. You will be grateful you did.
Professor Griffin is knowledgeable, but the class has some organizational issues. The due dates and grading can be unclear. However, the lectures are helpful, and Unstuck study proved useful for studying. Overall, a challenging but manageable course.
Nice person but the class was sub-optimal. Like how he had video lectures to watch before class but you often wondered why you came to class. Often times he didn't explain assignments and at times it was hard to know what exactly he wanted. He's a genuinely nice person but most people weren't fans of him or this class. Do the extra credit.
Great professor. Always prepared, very kind and easy classes. I wish all professors were like Pro Griffin.
Professor Griffin was great, and his assignments are engaging and unique. The weekly quizzes are easy and short, and tie directly to the reading. His lectures aren't too long, so It didn't feel like I had to spend a load of time each week for this specific course. I highly recommend Prof Griffin.
