i took her fri. class, it was pretty easy that u basically have 3 tests, 2 little projects, 1 extra credit little project, tests were from the powerpoint, not really boring, but easy if u study all her powerpoint~! and she is nice~ and always extra credit on the exams:)

Elder's class was completely straightforward and interesting. She is very professional and flexible to student needs.

Awesome instructor! Super straight forward and very helpful. We had an extremely annoying student in class & I couldn't believe her level of patience in dealing with constant interruptions. For tests, review her blackboard notes & the study guide that is posted before tests. Everything you need is in that material.

Elder knows her material, but the class is so incredibly simple that it's hard to retain. I haven't studied for one test, and I've set the curve on everything. She makes the class so absurdly simple that it's almost insulting. I learned the very basics of Psychology, but I hardly remember it. Her Autism lecture is excellent, though. Easy A or B.

really easy you know what is on the tests. two little projects that are a page or so. offers extra credit. really easy. i took her as a fri class and it always went fast.

Really enjoyed her class. She taught really well.You still need to read the test and study, but if you do it's easy. The other great part is she throws out your lowest test score, (but no make up exams). I looked forward to class because she made it very interesting. Great Professor!

Excellent professor. 4 exams with 1 optional exam if you missed any of the 4 or just did not like your score on 1. 4 mandatory EASY projects, usually 1-2 pages. Offers extra credit, either show proof you attended 2 academic workshops or complete extra projects. She posts all lectures on blackboard, still need to study from the book. Learned alot.

I took Elder for Psych1, and loved it, so I took her pysch 50 (Drugs, alcohol, society.) She loves the subject & is very informative. Incredibly helpful! Really wants you to succeed. Fun in-class group assignments. The bad ratings are from lazy stoners who wanted an easy grade. Use the study guide and you'll do fine. Great class, I recommend her

i loved her quirky and outgoing personality. her classes tend to get repetitive and boring, but if youre major is psych, then shes the one to learn it from. her exams are hard because its not only based on her lectures--your expected to read the textbook.she has a great personality though and is very understanding!

Dr. Elder is very knowlageable on autism, since that is her field of study. Psychology is not supposed to be entertaining, but she tried to make it as interesting as possible. If you actually study, get to class, and read the book you will do very well in class. Not to mention the fact that as far as professors go she is easy on the eyes.

she is an amazing teacher. she definitely knows what she is talking about. if you want to learn psychology, she is definitely the teacher to take. very clear, and goes over what you need to know. little bit of a hard grader, but if you study for tests, you should be fine.

This was my first class in College and she made it the best possible. I thoroughly enjoyed her teaching style, felt connected to her, and really enjoyed the classroom instruction. Assignments were constant, but had great purpose. Recommend her highly to all my classmates!

I took this class over the summer and it was great! She makes her lectures interesting and the tests are fair. The papers that we had to write were really easy...the only thing that was kind of tricky was the online homework (the textbook website was really glitchy for some people in the class).

I have taken both Psych 1 and 50 with Dr. Elder and I loved both classes. Very passionate teacher, shows both video and power point in her lectures. Easy homework once a week, none on the week of exams. 4 somewhat difficult exams unless you study. 1 optional exam. Organized and let you know due dates ahead of time. Highly recommend this professor!

Don't need textbook. Tests are multiple choice, some are a bit tough but it is clear what you need to study for them. Attendance is necessary as is participation. The only homework is an online part of the textbook which is impossibly easy. Overall, very knowledgeable professor and well taught class. Brigitte is kind of goofy but a very fun teacher

Pretty easy class, if you don't do so well on the exams, you can still pull a B. Projects are really fun and easy, you can choose any 4 out of 10+. Grades on a curve. She's really nice but goes a little too fast on the power points (you can print those up on blackboard). Don't really need the textbook, you can just study the lectures for exams.

Tests are a little challenging but over all it's easy to do well in the class. Attendance not needed. She posts lectures on blackboard. I went most of the time and did average on tests and got a B. She is a great Professor.

She is a great teacher! she does like to make u do busy work n some group work. She does make u write a couple essays. Not to hard though. she is really easy to talk to and works with u!! i had to take off like two weeks for a trip and she was great and let me take the test when i came back! really great teacher!!!

Excellent professor! She is knowledgeable about a wide range of topics and is helpful and approachable. I learned a ton in her class. Her tests are quite difficult, not because the material is hard but because their are many vague or trick questions. This class is well worth it, just read test questions carefully.

Dr. Elder might be my favorite teacher at Sierra! She is enthusiastic about the subjects she teaches and she made me more interested myself. Answers every question you have. Take good notes and scan chapters - you will be golden. Attendance is important to her. Overall - wonderful professor!

I love Dr. Elder! She's energetic and spunky and loves psychology. I've had her 3 times, so far, and she makes her classes very easy. She provides downloadable note outlines, study guides, and homework options. Convient office hours and always helpful!

Online-She is impossible to please.I am a straight A student and she would not give me full credit on any of my discussion board posts.Hw is easy.Exams were really hard ~25 questions.Multiple choice 5pts, fill in 10pts, and essay 30pts each. You miss just a few questions and you don't get an A.I would not recommend taking her class if want an A.

Professor Elder actually has a PH.D which is a different(BETTER) experience then taking it from one with a masters. Nice, professional, but has high standards, you will have to work for your A, but it is completely do able. Never answered my emails tho... Talk to her in person.You have to study, go to class and participate in small group for an A

I think Professor Elder is a good teacher with clear lectures and expectations. She may follow the book but that gives you clear information she wants you to have in her class. She has a great sense of humor. A little difficult to contact by e-mail but overall an awesome teacher and class.

Very passionate and knowledgeable about this subject. Gives homework weekly, but it's not too hard. Bases her tests off of the book so make sure you read for the test. Her lectures are interesting and she does in class activities that gets you easy points. You also have an option for a poster or paper at the end of the semester.

Her tests are really the only hardest part in her class. Study and read the book! Homework was all online which is incredibly easy, but also not worth much. However I cannot stress enough to study for test cuz it has 60?s but worth 300pts! Overall though she is a great teacher! :)

How to succeed in Dr Elder's Psych 1 class: be confident and participate. Speak up! Attend every class. READ THE TEXTBOOK CHAPTER THOROUGHLY, preferably several days ahead. Print out her notes and USE THEM. Don't be afraid to add a personal touch to your projects, and be creative. She's really funny and down to earth, so work hard but HAVE FUN!

To do well pay attention to two things: what she says in the lectures, and what the textbook says. Read the allotted chapters ahead of time and PAY CLOSE ATTENTION in class. Be present. Have fun with the projects and give of yourself. Be confident. Forget email, come early and ask the question. She's a really cool lady, and the lectures are fun!

PAY ATTENTION AND READ THE TEXTBOOK! Brigette is an amazing teacher and very very fun but she does not take to slacking off. Her tests are worth an insanely 300 point for only 60 questions! However, study, pay attention and ask question and you'll love this class :) Good luck.

The drugs class is awesome, I loved it. I took the TV class. Dr Elder was very accessible throughout term. She answered all emails, she marked exams quickly. The course moves quickly, so keep up. The lectures are extremely interesting and really fun. I learned a ton. She's funny. And she made cookies for the class. GREAT CLASS, AWESOME TEACHER.

I really enjoyed taking abnormal psych with her. She's very passionate about teaching this subject which made it a whole lot easier to stay engaged in class. The class isn't necessarily easy and requires effort but if you do the study guides as thorough as possible you will definitely get good grades on the tests.

Bridgette is one of the best professors I've had. Super friendly, interesting lectures, and very straight forward.

Reading the textbook is essential, but she lets you know what you should be reading, and lectures are fun and interesting.

She's a great teacher. She knows her stuf too, you should definitely take this class. You will notice that everyone in the class will either be on drugs, recovering, or know someone who's life was ended or ruined because of drugs. She is personally close to drugs ruining lives. Her class is not hard. Participate, read and you'll pass. Just show up.

Dr. Elder was a great professor, just study for her tests. The tests are application questions, memorizing definitions is not sufficient. Don't expect to get more than an 85 on her tests, so do the extra credit! Not a hard class by any means. I'm already signed up for her drugs class next semester.

I he'd a D throughout the semester and got a B overall in the class. the last 2 tests and her dropping the worst test really helped a lot. Also it's incredibly easy to get an A in this class keep up with the weekly discussions and you'll be fine! I was taking the TV course, didn't watch a single lecture and still made it through her course.

Dr. Elder is a seasoned TVonline instructor. Grading criteria is clear, I've always received messages with exam dates; she gives feedback for assignments and study guides. An optional final is available, plenty of 30-mins homework assignment and participation points. Easy A if you're comfortable with multiple-choice exams (60 questions each).

Good online class. Weekly DB's and hw assignment and 2 projects. The amount of work is standard for an online class. She makes tests unnecessarily hard with questions worded in a way that makes it difficult to get the answer. The average scores should not be 50% with fill in the blank/multiple choice/short answer, open note/open book tests.

Took a lot of classes with her online and I like the way she sets up her curriculum. Very easy to understand.

Fantastic teacher. Her lectures are very thorough and entertaining. The tests are a combination of lectures and book material, but if you show up to class you will know what the primary focus is for each subject. I suggest printing out her lecture slides and bringing them to class to take notes so you are not writing furiously while she's lecturing

She loves her job and it shows. She was extremely helpful and willing to answer any and all questions. She grades decent, the amount of work you are willing to put in will determine your grade. It's good to take notes and she does use slides. Gives 13 topics for your choice of any 3 papers to write. Fun teacher, would take it again in a heartbeat.

Brigitte is amazing! She is super sweet, caring, and hilarious! You only really need the online textbook to pass the class. You do in class assignments every day, but they aren't worth much so it wont kill you if you skip class. Exams are of average difficulty. Homework is way easy. Projects are easy too and you only have to do 2 out of like 18.

Her class was a lot harder than I expected. Otherwise, she is one of my favorite teachers. She's hilarious and an outstanding teacher. If you pay attention in her classes and do the homework (Which I didn't necessarily do), you will succeed in her class.

She was very fun to take. The homework was online and pretty easy if you read through the chapter. She had 4 exams and two projects throughout the semester, and frankly, they were pretty easy. The class was just lecture and every now and then we'd have group discussion which counted towards participation.

Dr. E is a tough grader & you won't be able to slip through w/ little effort. Quizzes are tough, but do all the assigned reading, homework & take good notes, you'll be fine. She gives good feedback & knows whether or not you know the material, so put in the effort & read everything! Some extra credit is also available. You must work for your grade!

Professor Elder is very emotive when she lectures, and you can tell she is passionate for the subject. Optional final that drops your lowest exam score if you take it. I absolutely LOVED Brigitte. One of my favorite profs of all time. She made every class interesting, offered extra credit, and was very thorough. She has so much personality and really wants her students to learn. If you do the reading and homework/practice questions, the tests are SUPER easy! 1 project or paper and tests are not cumulative.

Prof Elder made learning about drugs very fun. This is not a class thats going to preach about how evil drugs are. She really trys to stay in the middle and makes every class interesting. She is very knowledgeable, so if your someone who is interested in entering the field of psychology I would recommend this class

I love professor Elder. Her abnormal psychology class was both easy and interesting. There are four tests and one project for the class which is a paper or poster. Poster is easier to do but I chose the paper and got 100% because she grades super leniently. She is super kind and approachable and I went to her office hours a few times for help.

I took this professor for both Drugs Psychology and Developmental Psychology. I would definitely take her again, but the courses were nothing special or exciting. The exams seemed tough even if you put lots of studying in, and especially for what she covered in class. It gets the job done and is informative, but there are more exciting professors.

I took her class over the summer, which was shifted online due to COVID-19. The lectures were very helpful: great summaries of the textbook. Very reading-heavy. Exams were toughly-graded, geared toward application of concepts rather than memorization, but they weren't difficult as long as you read the textbook thoroughly.

she is a great teacher, you can tell she really cares about her students and the material she uses.I took her class in person, and the information is very interesting. This class goes over all/most psychological disorders. As long as your study the study guide then you should be good for the test. There is a final paper that is long but manageable

I'm halfway through the semester and I'm loving this class. I absolutely enjoy her lectures, she makes them fun to follow but often does skip over slides too fast. I usually get bored with lectures every day for classes but not this class, I found the material very interesting. Engages with students during class and is really funny.

She is a very great professor and has amazing lectures. You can really see how passionate she is about the subject. She always has study group sessions 2 hours before an exam. Her exams are very very challenging and difficult. Gives about 2 homework assignments per week, which is pretty do able. If you want a challenge take her.

Professor Elder is a joy. Her course is understandable, easily managed and very consistent in terms of weekly chores. We have weekly discussion boards that can sometimes be arduous, but otherwise I would say most assignments and tasks have been very fitting for the lecture material. Highly recommend Abnormal Psychology with Dr. Elder. She is absolutely fantastic and this class is fascinating. She has a PhD, so super knowledgeable as well as being super charming and funny and is just a wonderful instructor. Homework is easy but tests can be tricky. If you just review your lecture notes you will be fine.

I had Professor Elder Online, and I liked her class, her material is the same every week, One discussion Board ( + reply to 2 people), Quiz/Study Plan, and you have to do 2 projects throughout the semester/ Just 2. Her Textbook ( for my class) was the Studyplan and it cost $25, but I did use it every week for that class. Just keep up with work.

I took her Psychology 102 class, she is one great Professor. Easy peasy, I took in all of what she was teaching. She deserves a huge raise because she is the one running the whole Psych department I think? She has been really helpful with me sine I am disabled going through this TBI. She understood that which is a big plus.

This class was only worth 1 credit and at the beginning of the semester we were told there were no essays, however there were 3 large assignments which had to be around 4-5 pages. This felt a little much for a 1 credit class, however she gave 100/100 as long as you did it within the criteria. Other than this the class was a walk in the park.

Professor Elder is a very engaging class and is easy to pass. She has a few tests with study guides and a weekly homework assignment, all of which are very doable. She cares about students and wants everybody to pass. Just listen to lectures and engage in class.

Prof. Elder is great! If you take Psyc104, know that you must purchase the Waymaker learning system, which if I remember correctly costs around $50. There isn't a way to get around this one. The class is really easy to follow, and as long as you do your study plans, you will ace the tests!

Professor Elder cares about psychology and is very knowledgeable in the field. Lectures were very informative, and take up the whole class time, every single day. I wasn't a fan of the program we used for homework and quizzes called Waymaker. It never covered exactly the same material as we did in class and required a lot of reading. Easy A though!

Amazing professor. Such an easy class, not many assignments and they are all easy. This class really helped me get a better understanding of what career I want to pursue. If you are a psych major and are unsure what area you want to go into, or just get a better understanding of your options and what they include, take this class.

Prof Elders is great! Her lectures are exciting, relevant, and everything you learn about is on a test. Everything I learned has felt valuable,e and I really enjoyed this course and this professor. Be ready to study for exams, but otherwise incredibly flexible, and simple.
