She is a good teacher and knows what she is teaching but her test are hard(I mean if you study) but I have to say that if you want to learn something take her and yea her quiz's are open book but barely of any help...But she is cool and very helpful...
She is by far the toughest teacher I have ever taken. I am an A student but she goes fast, and her tests are HARD. The class average for her tests are like 40%. The highest is usually like a 65%. Dont take her!!

she is the hardest teacher ever
She's not that hard. Physics is!
she's hard, and teaches very slow. I suggest you don't take her.
the fact that she is so unorganized in her lectures make physics seem like a very difficult class.. and really its not. do yourself a favor and dont take her class
She speaks monotonic so you just wanna go in class and sleep, its like hearing a lolaby. She gives you all the equations but exam problems are from the book. so just do Homework and you will be fine on quiz and test. If you do not understand something she easily gets frustrated, so next time you have question you think twise before going to her!
OMG, DO NOT TAKE HER HORRIBLE TEACHER, WILL JUST MAEK YOU WANT TO DROP! TRUST ALL THE OTHER COMMENT!
this professor is awful. it's one thing to know physics, but it's another thing to know how to teach physics.
the BEST physics professor I have ever had and this is coming from someone who HATED physics. She makes physics DO-ABLE and helps you throughout her courses. She actually cares whether you are getting it or not and is always available if you need her help. Physics is not an easy subject, but if you try and with help, you can pull through.
well, I can understand that she came from another country to teach here. She told us that she wouldn't be able to help us that much with phys. because they way she knows it is very different from our culture. I realized she doesn't talk alot about her self but she does mention indian very often and if she's unhappy here then change it!! do not ask
She goes really slow. She has an accent. Her homework was easy because it comes from the book and all the answers were in the library, all u have to do is copy them. But u learn nothing.
Her ENGR 110C class was quite interesting (to me at least). Her grading is fair and her lectures are somewhat monotonous. Nevertheless she expects good preformance and will feel somewhat let down if you underachieve which is somewhat rare. I do not know how she teaches physics but as far as the engineering class class is concerned she did good.
In a nutshell, if you give effort and she sees that you are honest and really trying she will pass you; it's not in her nature to fight with students. Her tests are somewhat difficult but her grading is soft. She stresses professionalism more than anything; late assignments will really upset her as well as bad attendance. Really misunderstood.
i can say that the phy 222 is the hardest course i had never took , i really dont know why school only give 160 min for such a hard class each week. this class is totally impossible to do without assistance. pro S. cant teach the class at all, but we can see the hardness she put try to teach her students material. she is nice person but bad teacher
Not helpful, not understanding, monotonous, the material was dry.
I had her years ago and I took PHYS2 two times with her.I have since transferd, but everything she taught me has stuck with me.Take advantage of office hrs. She is very helpful. Her class builds solid foundation and prepares you for the university and your career. Don't be afraid to take her, she is a nice person and an EXCELLENT professor.
She is very helpful and readily availible. Materials can be difficult; her class does require lots of reading and practice problems. She is very thorogh. The things you learn in her classes stick with you. I can't say that about all my professors. I would recommend her to any person who is interested in making real progress.
If you are a lazy mindless slug of a human being, then you should not bother wasting your time in her class. In her class your actually expected to put in time reading and practicing problems. Surprise! So if your some sort of whiny loser, take that attitude somewhere else.
She got her PH.D. from her native country. Which I believe that it is respectable, when teaching in the United States. Want to learn something useful; take one of their courses.
She's actually not that bad. She's willing to help you if you ask for it and to be honest, I had no clue what I was doing or what was going on in class, but I managed to pass with a C. =)
Easy class for me. Willing to help, but does not like questions beyond the scope. When you have a rapport with her she is really nice.
Dr. Brinda at first and at times is a difficult professor to deal with. She means well in her teaching and always offers her time to help you. This is not an easy A class. You will need to put in at least 10 hrs of studying outside of class just to understand whats going on! If you study you will get a B or better. Heres a hint keep doing the hmwk
dont take her!!! she doesnt like it when we correct what she did wrong. she has partiality for some students.she takes things very personal.its hard and boring dealing with her
She is a great Professor, "Physics 222" is not that hard; it just requires lots of your time. If your nice with her, she will be very nice with you.
I don't advise this teacher at all. I dropped the class because her tests are extreamly hard and she is hard to understand. She is very stubborn too.
This is a difficult class to begin with, it is not her fault. She is very nice and is always happy to help in her office hours. She highly favors the students who get A's on her tests.
DIFFICULT!!! I heard that it's better to take this course elsewhere. All she does is conceptual problems on the board with no numbers at all. If you are trying to just "get by," you're going to have a rough time. You'll spend LOTS of time struggling on hw and trying to study OUTSIDE of class. Hint to pass the tests: DO THE HW.
I would take someone else. She is hard to understand in an area which is already difficult.
She is the worst teacher! No one can understand anything she says! She has a stupid accent and she is super rude! She is so scatterbrained and jumps from one topic to another. She required students no food in the lab, BUT she is always eating in front of the whole class. Do not take her! Go to other school to take it.
Beware! She is a moody witch! Even u get the info from the book or solution, she says it is still wrong just because that is not what she thinks! Once she feels she does not like u, she will treat u like a u r a idiot! Homework is a incubus! 50 questions quizzes for each week and online problems u have to pay fee to get in! Take other college?s!
Physics is not my thing, but if you do pay attention in her class and do the homework problems, you should be able to get an A. She explains the material well, and she knows what she is talking about when she is writing it on the board. If you have a question, ASK. She is a nice person, and wants you to do well.
This class is easy as long as you master Chap1~6. Afterward the only new concept will be some Chemistry-based stuff. She is willing to help. Try to clarify any conceptual problem; otherwise, the class will become hard as hell.
She is helps you if you go to her office hours. Besides that she is not professional for the job, she understimates some students, doesn't have the patience at all, doesn't like it when students comment on her mistakes in class.... Just take it somewhere else if u can. I was able to mangage an A but not happy at all overall.
Instructor is definitely very helpful if you are seeking help. Physics is not an easy course but she definitely makes it much easier by giving out many types of assistance such as eqn sheets and bonus problems on the exams. She is not easy gonna have to work for your grade. She comes off intimidating but go to office hours shes very helpful there
My physics class was fantastic! You guys know that the physics is not an easy class. However, in this class you can learn many things. If you need help, do not hesitate to visit her. She will help you during her office hour. Her grade is fair, and she always tries to teach hard. She is nice and fair.To succeed in this calss,do your hw and attend SI
She is pure evil. She has no soul or patience for people who do not understand complex Calculus 2 concepts. She will tell you to retake the prerequisites. average test grade is 40%. This class will become your life if you want to pass. Lab reports are a **** too. May god have mercy on you if you take this class because she will not.
Dr. B is a great teacher who is dedicated to the improvement the quality of her class. If you want a good strong foundation in Electricity and Magnetism, Dr. B is your teacher. If you are just looking to get by, take it somewhere else. She comes off very tough at times, but she is extremely helpful and her class will benefit you greatly.
This is a difficult class simply due to the material. Unless you are naturally gifted, expect to spend a lot of time doing the homework, quizzes and labs. Take advantage of office hours. She is very helpful as she can offer more one-on-one help. Expect that she won't just give you answers though. You still have to think for yourself.
She has a really good curve and overall is a really easy grader...really pay attention to her notes...is extremely helpful don't be afraid to ask questions. I really liked her class :)
I really liked her class and she is really helpful...and she has a really easy curve...just pay attention and you will be fine!
This Class was really hard, but if you put the time and effort to study it should be fine. Her class is design to help people pass for the most part. Physic is difficult, but just study and do the hw and you should be fine. Shes a nice person, so talk to her if you're struggling
really wants her students to be successful. very helpful if you go to her.lectures can be boring, but they're interactive w/ the students which always makes things a little more interesting. lets the class joke around at times as well. easy grade if you skim your notes.
This is a good class to take, and a good professor to take it with. You'll gain some good knowledge
This course is very difficult. Unless you were born with the brain for physics, you must study very hard to obtain an A or a B. Tests are designed so that you can't just "plug in" the numbers into the equations. Asking for help during her office hour is crucial; she may be confusing during the class, but her one-to-one teaching is so much clear.
This class is very difficult. She has very specific things that she wants you to know on the tests, anything that is not emphasized is not going to be on your exam. She is a very lenient grader because she knows her class is very hard. Do the homework problems
Dr. Subramaniam does a great job in teaching this course. Her lectures go hand in hand with the text. Although some will say that she gives out too much work, but how will you learn anything if you don't apply yourself. The textbook is a wonderful tool on becoming a successful student. Not only that, it is also cheap! I recommend Dr. Subramaniam!
This class teaches a lot about engineering. Students are going to learn many things about engineering that they never thought of. The professor has a unique technique of teaching students and it is very helpful indeed. Students will learn how to cooperate in teams to work on projects that help the students gain experience. Very interesting class!
After taking this course, I changed my major to engineering because I loved physics so much. Dr. Brinda is awesome and she will push you to work hard, there are no excuses and she's not afraid to call you out. I got an A and would take her as a professor again anytime.
Dr. Brinda is my favorite professor in Cypress because she is able to make a difficult science understandable. I got an A on every exam and the key to getting that A was doing the hw! do it all of it! the concepts may be difficult but they arent impossible to understand.
Never did I come across a teacher as mean as her. I had a lot of confidence so I didn't believe this site at first, but the truth is that she makes it hard on purpose. Your suppose to teach the subject yourself, bc she can't teach. I'm an A student, and I can say she is the worst teacher out there. Many are barely passing the class. A "C" is a 55%
Her class is difficult because she knows the level that is taught at UC/CSU (warning: weeder course). She won't hold your hand but she will give you directions; This is the one class you actually need to read the book prior. She is very helpful in her office hours. I am an A student but I managed a B (took Calc 4 and Chem 111A same semester)
I'm horrible with physics & math in general but I got a B because I worked hard, went to her office hours, did the homework, and studied. Reading prior to lecture helps. It's a hard class and the lecture can get confusing, but her one-on-one teaching is so clear and helpful. Put in the work that she says you need to get an A or B and it's possible.
Hard class, you have to do the work. Reading is a must before lecture in order to understand. Do the HW! Ask questions & if you're too intimidated, ask after lecture or during office hours. She will make time for you if you can't make it to her regular hours. Go to SI if you can & especially if your SI instructor is good/helpful.
Concepts are difficult. Never miss lecture, pay attention, read chapter summaries & you won't need to read too much. Redo the problems she does in class, & if she tells you what problems to do, DO THEM. Go to SI if you can. Ask questions. She's intimidating but don't be scared because she's super helpful.
Wort professor ever! It seems that she hates the subject physics, has little patience and will put you down if she has the chance to. Obsessed with bring people's spirt down is mean HAF on exams, she is ridiculous. I don't recommend her, PERIOD!
Very responsible professor. Know the material. She's really teaching physics, not making it an intro level class. Hard work is required.
Not an easy class. However, you WILL learn. She is hard and expects a lot, but she is crazy knowledgeable about this subject. She isn't the greatest at explaining the little details, but if you understand her, the book will never be needed. Take her SI, it has a practice exam that pretty much mirrors her tests. She gives a lot of partial credit.
she talks about people more than she teaches. She is very judgmental. once she sees something on you, she will hate you and she can't even hide it. There is absolutely no partial credit. you have to get the exact answer to get point that's why her drop rate is about 85 percent.
Do the homework!! The questions end up on the test. This was the hardest class I have ever taken! Only take it if you are serious about being an engineering or math major! She won't sugar coat it if you suck she will tell you. She's tough but also fair. Her lectures are helpful GO TO CLASS. She is very helpful in her office hours.
Professor Brinda is great! Physics is a hard subject and she lets her students know this at the beginning of the semester. You must work for your grade. She covers everything you need to know for the exams. And is always receptive to answering questions. Overall hard class, and must put in the time to earn an A.
Be prepared to do lots of practice problems. Tests are all problem based. There are 10 problems on the test. She takes the top 8 of 10. She's a pretty fair grader. She also gives students who didn't do well on tests opportunities to make up points. Ask her questions in class as she tailors the test to class level. Difficult class but I liked her.
A very tough class. Must study hard, DEFINITELY attend SI, do practice problems, create study groups, ask questions, and put 200% effort in. Grade is majorly based on 4 exams with 10 problems which you have 3 hours to work on. Understand the concepts and apply it to problems. She expects NO memorization. Very intellectual professor.
Material for this class by itself is tough. It is really hard to chew. Thus, do teamwork and put 100% effort for this class. To Dr. Brinda, she dedicates to her teaching. She cares about students like her children. She also knows how to motivate you to achieve success. She is one of my favorite professor in Cypress College.
Dr. Subramaniam is a wonderful professor who wants her students to succeed. Make sure you go to her office hours, she will clear up any confusion! Enjoy the E & M labs, they will be the nicest out of any CC you go to.
Dr. Subramaniam Physics 222 class is very challenging. However, do not let that dissuade you. The skills you develop from her class are irreplaceable and will be vital for when you transfer. Dr. Brinda's lectures are engaging and she truly cares about her students' success. The effort you put into her class is proportional to your grade.
Perhaps the toughest/one of the toughest professors I've had, ever. Avoid taking her if condescending/insulting remarks are not motivating for you. She cares, but she can be mean. Provides no E.C. and her grading scale is set in stone. Read chapter before class and you will absorb material better. BUT she is great at explaining concepts.
it's not the material that makes her class have such a high drop rate it's the way she tries to"motivate"us. she is condescending & harsh. she will tell you not to strive for an A but to strive for a C instead cause "you won't get an A"(&that's just an example) I love physics but something about her attitude towards her students is just not right.
Professor Brinda is the most caring professor I have ever had. This is the most difficult class I have ever taken, and I don't think there are many classes this tough. However, she puts in so much effort to get us to understand the material that you wouldn't expect from a professor. Hands down, best professor.
Professor Brinda is awesome. She gives great lectures and explains things in ways that really help you remember. It's a hard class. To get an A, the homework and study questions are key. Just do a few problems a night. The tests are really tough but you're given every opportunity to prepare. You won't forget this class!
The class is naturally hard by itself due to the material. She will not hold your hand throughout the class but will definitely be happy to help you if you are serious about putting in the effort. She wants to prepare her students to transfer by exposing them to what it will be like in a CSU/UC classroom. Great teacher, highly recommend her.
READ BEFORE REGISTERING: Brinda requests a whole different room for every exam. Her exams are 3-4 hours long. Four exams 65% Quizzes 10% Lab 25%. OPINION: the level of difficulty on her exams compared to what she actually covers in class are on two different scales. She is the only professor that teaches this course. This is a 4 unit course... GL.
I feel she is extremely condescending. Rude. She feels the need to put her students down. unacceptable. Its hard for anyone to ask questions in class... she either tells you to do it first or come to office hours. This prevents students from even wanting to raise their hands in class. She creates extremely difficult exams...
Preparing to transfer and i feel as though Brinda wants to be a UC professor so bad. She scoffs and is appalled when we as students do not know fresh information. Like she hasn't been teaching the same subject for 20 years... She creates exams as though she is teaching at a UC. We as students do not deserve the inconvenience of her own failures.
At the beginning of the semester Dr. Brinda is tough but as the semester goes on she lightens up more, especially after the "W" deadline. So take the other reviews where the students withdrew the class with a grain of salt, they didn't experience the full class. Exams are tough, just make sure you practice. Don't let her stand in your way.
She is a really good professor that putting the effort for you to understand the material. However, the exam is extremely difficult that is harder than any other professor in Fullerton college based on 5+ people's experience who have taken at both Cypress and Fullerton college. Spend 35 hours every week will get you a C or B- in the class.
Exams are tough, expect to work for a passing grade. Class is ur basic CSU/UC class, Professor's lecture is barely helpful and you must do 90% of the learning on your own. The difference is that she is available and wants us to go to her office hours to ask her for help. She will yell at her class for not knowing the material during lecture, a lot.
STOP! Do yourself the favor and take this class at Fullerton. The professors over there are WAY EASIER. She is a very caring teacher and obviously knows her stuff but she berates and belittles those who dont understand the material. If you do bad on a test she treats you like you're dumb and gives you a hard time. Trust me just take it at Fullerton
As a ME major, i believe students should be motivated for what is ahead. I believe we as aspiring engineers should understand the necessity of these concepts but also proper guidance to want to learn more. sigh. This is the most awful and discouraging professor i have had. It sucks cause she knows we need this class to transfer making it harder.
Just don't. please, don't. Her class is somewhat similar to Pandora's box. You might think, 'maybe, this will be valuable experience.' Well, my friend, you are completely wrong. This is the way to hell and way to get motivated to change your major.
Dr. Brinda cares about you and wants to see you succeed. The material is hard, but she gives you every tool you need to get an A in her class. If you go to office hours she will help you through any homework problem so you will be prepared for exams. No surprises on exams, she tells you exactly what to study. Do the homework!
The professor is rude and does not really want to help students during the office hour. She grades exams fast but takes out all the points if there is any calculation error. Her class will be a very good practice when you have a terrible professor that has difficult exams, terrible lectures, and bad attitudes in the future.
This is my second time taking this Professor and I have to say that she has not inspired me at the slightest to continue in Physics. But, I have to inspire myself to pursue my dreams so I'll be taking a different Professor in the spring to do that. She is a hard professor that only wants you to succeed. However, she comes off as passive aggressive.
The class is hard subject matter wise but in my opinion Dr Brinda is a great professor and is very helpful throughout the process. She is the type of professor that wants to help you but you need to reciprocate the effort back in order to do good in the class. She is always available to answer questions.
One word. YIKES. Avoid taking at all costs. Her tests are absolutely brutal and her class is one big headache. Trust me when I tell you I'm not the only student who felt that way this semester. She insists you ask questions but when you actually ask, she makes you sound stupid and hardly clarifies the question. I regret taking this class.
She admits the subject matter bores her because she's been teaching it for 20 years. I can tell the fact that she's teaching online upsets her even more. She has no patience. Complains if you don't ask questions then is rude when you do ask. I asked a question to get her perspective and she replies "read the book". Any prof is better, I promise.
Worst teacher I have ever had. Need to spend 2-3 hours a night trying to understand and learn the subject yourself as she does not teach well, and makes fun of students who ask questions. DO NOT TAKE. She does not grade the tests super hard, but she does not teach well enough to make up for the fact.
DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HER! Please take my advice and save yourself the trouble. She teaches in the most boring way possible, she makes you feel stupid if you're unsure about something, she is not passionate about teaching this subject and her exams are TOO HARD. She skips so many intermediate steps in her working out. A living hell. I DROPPED!
Hands down worst professor I have ever had. She is not caring, rushes through lectures and is extremely rude to her students and makes them look stupid and cuts them off when they ask questions. It's obvious she does not like her job or care for her students. Teaching yourself this material is impossible. Anything else is better then her
Electrostatic and electromagnetic physics is a difficult subject to comprehend. Dr. Brinda is willing to help out if you make the effort to seek her help. Sure she may be a tough on her students as others have stated but that does not mean she doesn't care. If you are willing to put an effort into studying and ask questions, you will pass her class
This class has made me lose all passion for physics. Extremely demeaning and rude. She personally attacks students and makes rude comments to everyone.. You will have to work extremely hard to get a good grade. Do not take any other classes, you will drop. This is the worst class I have ever taken. Do yourself a favor and don't take her class.
PHYS 222 is a very challenging class, but that doesn't mean that it is impossible. Dr. Brinda will help you when you when you ask for it. She is extremely invested in her students and will go the extra mile to make sure that they succeed. You have to put in the work too though, don't expect the professor to take the class for you.
Dr. Brinda is a great professor. This class is a hard because the subject matter is very difficult. She has lots of office hour and are there to answer questions. She is always eager to help students any way she can. definitely recommends her.
This is a class that you have to put time into, but it's possible to succeed. Ask questions in class when you get confused and attend office hours whenever you're confused about practice problems or labs. She enjoys helping out students as long as they're putting in the work. Test questions (4 tests) are similar to textbook ones (get the pdf).
Brinda is the worst professor I have ever taken in my entire life. When you ask valid problem based questions, she will treat you in such a horrible way by rolling her eyes, scoffing, and laughing. She will then go on a 20 min rant about how no one asks questions... GO FIGURE. 5.0 reviews here are bogus. Highly discouraging/ aggressive person.
class was 2 hour test were like 4-5 hours. am taking physics not PHD chill. when I took it it was like a year ago, but I am still traumatized from her exams. yeah and this was an online class so it should be easier. but not for hear.
great professor and would definitely help you as long as you need if you go to office hours
