He likes humor...he is helpful and very knowledgable. He is late most of the time, but will keep you till the time is up. He is very nice if you get to know him and gets along with many people. His tests are hard and expects alot from everyone.

He may look Tim Allen, but way more intelligent. His test are written to mess with your grades. Meaning he will give you 50 minutes sometimes more to do 1 75 item multiple choice paragraph long test that is written at 1st year graduate level.

Awesome professor! IS late to class, but not 30/min. Very responsive to student feedback--> would change lasson if students didn't understand something. Best prof I've had yet. Learned a lot. Preped us for CSET. Highly recommended.

A dynamic, animated, entertaining and thought-provoking professor. Britt challenges you to develop your own understanding, and not just accept things on a whim. Runs late to class often, keeps you to the end (lect/lab). You do not need to buy "the book" as all Geo books are just about the same so buy one (anyone) and he will accept it. Take him

He makes fun of everyone equally so don't think you are being singled out. This was the first class I'd seen so much participation from the ladies. He is late often.

Awesome laidback approach to teaching. Focuses on concepts. Lots of extra credit. Pay attention to the concepts and do the readings. You can skip all classes but they are kind of fun.

"I will not spoon-feed you; you will have to work" Dr. Leatham is without a doubt the coolest teacher I have ever had. Changed my major due to his infectious (and sarcastic) wit. Total hotty, if you dig the nerd look. He makes you think and will challenge regurgitated info. Think! Think!! Think!!! If up to the challenge, recommended highly.

If you are tired of conventional college professors, this is the guy for you. I am a an expert at "fact memorization" and all of the standard college BS. If you are like me he will challenge you and be extremely difficult. If you are a "real world" student, he will be easy. His wacky ways force you to think on "your own feet". Superb instructor!

I didn't do all the work. The tests were only worth 10% of your grade so if you failed both you still would pass the class. People who are stubborn and close minded about learning will hate this class. He hates spoon feeding students and makes you think on your own. He is very lenient with late work and tests if you go talk to him.

I had Britt long ago in the 90's and totally loved him. He is the reason why I worked so hard. Now I'm a paleontologist and a geologist as is my husband whom Britt taught as well. I thought he was a cutie and I worked closely with him as a TA. I learned so much on his trips. Does have a neg attitude sometimes but call him on it and cheer him up.

Dr. Leatham has been kind person and is a great sage. Do the extra credit and you will be fine. Do not stress your self out. Go to his office for any assistance, and he will help you.

At first I couldn't stand him but I got used to his way of teaching. Class was not hard, just do your work thats what I did n I got an A-. You do need the book though. As long as you turn in everything and do the project you will pass as the midterm is 10% of your grade and so is the final.

Will help! Very understanding and IS there to help his students pass. Is weird, but GREAT professor overall. Go along with his class and his lectures and ALL the funny things he says, in the end,he is the PROFESSOR and he is the one grading you. I would recommend this professor:)

He knows his subject backwards and forwards, with a passionate interest in geology. It was made clear that I was to receive no special treatment. With his excellent lecture and explanations, I was able to earn an A in the class. He's a fun guy, also!

Brit was bomb. Simply put, he was the best professor I have had and he made the class worth wanting to attend. Yeah he was a goof, but that's what made the class even better! :)

honestly the class can be frusturating but you can earn up to 90% of your grade in extra credit. he is hilarious and very kind and helpful. easy class some group work, but he is understanding. he is very likeable!

Discovery leads the class, not a textbook. His teaching style is different, so people looking for a "fillintheblank" get a grade class will not like it. Instead he teaches through labs. They are not haphazard, but can be accomplished in many ways. I learned more in his two classes than all my other upper-level geo courses combined.

I was going through a rough patch in life and he helped me bu listening to me and helping me by sending me over to the Student Health Center for some much needed and much appreciated help. It was life changing for me.

This class was very interesting if you take the time to THINK and do the work. He is not your average professor which is very liberating. He does not have a syllabus and rarely stays on topic or gives you feedback on your grade. However, you learn invaluable critical thinking skills in his class.

I was scared of this professor at first but when you talk to him he is a really nice man. His tests can be hard but there are not worth a large percentage of the grade and he offers tons of extra credit. He just wants his students to put some effort in the class and critically think. Plus he is kind of cute in a weird way.

Class was difficult at first. Talked to him about an assignment and I spent over an hour in his office just talking about class and life. he's the sweetest prof. I've had here at CSUSB. He cares a lot, prof. HATES people who don't put in any effort, especially those who CHEAT... He's not an idiot, just try! Get to know him. Don't be afraid :)

Professor Leatham, is a great professor. His lectures are very entertaining and his knowledge of the subject is evident- if you listen you will learn. As others mention, his lectures can be all over the place at times, makes note taking challenging, but this is not a big deal- if you go, read, do the homework and put in the effort, you will pass.

Hes the best teacher ever, wants you to think OUTSIDE the box. question everything nd to become your own person. There's tons of extra credit offered. Make sure he knows who you are and that your really trying and you'll pass. RESPECT HIM and he'll respect u. We are college students and therefore we should already know that no person is liked by all people. HE could be the coolest and worst professor, depending who you ask to. My honest comments about his class is the following: 1.- Do your part as student 2.- Do not expect him or his class to be similar to your high school professors or classes.

Show up to lab, do all the chapters he tells you, make sure you turn in your evaluations each class, and do as much extra credit as you want (he literally has no limit you can do hundreds of points of extra credit) Easily my favorite teacher. Don't take what he says personally, he cares about his students and has trouble expressing it sometimes.

Professor Leatham is not your typical professor. He talks a lot during his lectures but he makes it fun and interesting. He had two exams and they were based on his lectures and on the readings. His exams were 10% of our grade. He gave A LOT of extra credit!

really enjoyed this class. His lectures are messy but be an adult and organize the information to how it makes sense to you. Go to office hours for any extra help, he is really a sweet man and very excited to teach.

He doesn't baby anyone and gets you ready for the real world. He tries to get you to really use your mind. He breaks the paradigm of professor in a great way. Too many complainers in his class.

Prof Leatham teaches in a way in which you learn or you don't. From the very beginning he makes it known you control your own grade. Lots to read but most readings are interesting. His style is relaxed, honest, invigorating, and he's most definitely a giver. Pays close attention to detail and is forgiving of fault. Hands down, def one of the best.

Awesome instructor

The most active class I've ever taken. Britt will make you work for it, expect to participate. Expect to feel lost&confused only for it to suddenly make perfect sense. This class will make you learn how to think, its not a lecture you can sit back and listen to. I would take him again. Seems disorganized but there is a method to the madness.

Great professor, absolutely DOES care about each student and makes students WORK and PARTICIPATE. He does not lecture and is more interested in conversing with classmates. Those that complain he does not care are students that expected to sit in a classroom and not participate and still get an easy A he cares deeply about education.

His teaching style focuses on the big picture of concepts under study and can make a conversation about parrotfish, defecation, corals, and beach sands relevant to the classroom. Passionate about sedimentology and is open to discuss any further questions students have. Read the textbook, do vocab terms in the comp. book, and enjoy the class.
