She is an amazing professor if you like to be taught outside of the book and more involving the world around us.

Professor Michealson is great. She is a awesome teacher. I only showed up for half of her classes and still had a high B. Gives a review before her finals, and for extra credit, a take home test. If you need a boost in your GPA TAKE THIS ONE!!!!

Ok she is a pretty cool teacher but you have to do all your work. Must complete every quiz and she gives them to you all the time and must type a 2 page paper before every test. Tests arent super hard but they arent easy just study and you will be good. Kind of a boring class though i slept all the time and still came out with a B haha.

Pretty good teacher. She will to help you out as much as possible. This class, through this teacher will not hurt your GPA.

Extremely easy class, she does power points and enjoys class discussion. Test are all Multiple choice with TONS of extra credit... you can make 110 on every test and she gives options for corrections worth half points back. I had a great time in her class and took 2301 and 2302 with her.

She knows what she is talking about. She is very fun to watch. I liked going to class. You will hear her say "down the pike" many times during her class. Take her!! She is semi hard, but its worth it!

When you take Government, take her class

She is an amazing teacher. Online quizzes each week where you can use the book to find the answers makes taking quizzes to a whole new level. She loves her subject and it shines through her every word. She wants to help her students pass and learn however she can. I wish I took her for 1301 as well. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!

Prof. Michelsen is one of the most helpful professors I've ever had. She clearly loves her subject. She wants her students to succeed and goes above and beyond to help! Gives extra credit projects for those who want to boost their grade. I'd recommend her without reservation.

Pretty helpful teacher. Government is not my thing so I got kinda tired of it but she has her quirks (i.e. She likes to use the word "kirfuffle.") and these make the class somewhat entertaining. She likes to think of herself as unbiased but she's a bit of a liberal. Good grades shouldn't be hard to get if you do the work.

Take home test. Best way to learn government. Participate and she'll love you more. Read & stay ahead with the test. NO homework. A if you do the work.

Very lenient about due dates and will work with your schedule. Online quiz each week comes exactly from the book word for word, but other than that the text book is only used for study guides. Very helpful, very kind. Great class, easy A if you even halfway do your work.

Best professor I've had at Lone Star so far. Very helpful and truely wants her students to do well.

sweet lady, easy class. she teaches seperate from what you need to know for the tests. she tends to ramble and idk what shes talking about half the time. ur responsible for reading the chapters on your own and theres an online test every friday. she grades on a curve and extends due dates as well. works with the students drops lowest grade.

She is a great teacher who genuinely cares about her students. She does teach somewhat separately from the book, but ties the two together. She grades with a curve, fill in the blank final, (with a wordbank) and always extended the due dates of papers and quizzes. It would be hard to NOT pass her class.

Awesome class! Really interested in how the government works all around us and getting people involved. If you don't understand the government or care, she's a good professor to have because she makes it interesting. Online quizzes use the book, but in class is completely different and attendance is part of your grade! Gives lots of extra credit.

She is very easy, she loves to talk. She hands out study guides for each test, which is online btw even though it is NOT an online class. The online tests are really easy, you can take them 2 times until you get an A. You must attend class or you will have an F.

She is an amazing professor- insightful and very helpful. This is a college class, so i would'nt recomend it if you're looking for an easy grade. However, if you want to actually learn, i strongly suggest ms. Michelsen. Just stay on top of your work, and communicate with her about any problems.

Good class, teacher is helpful. You get two tries for the online quizzes, and you can use the study guides for the two tests. As long as you tell her any problems you're having, she can help you out.

Ms. Michelsen is a nice professor.She is entertaining and will make you laugh especially when she says "Phooey."I so cannot wait to take her Gov't 2302. If you want an easy class I recommend Ms. Michelsen;tests are done online,however the midterm and final is to be done in class. Do your study guides, tests,vocab and you will be sure to make an A.

I think Mrs. Michelsen is a very nice lady. Her class was an easy A. However, saying this the nicest way I can, she wasn't very interesting. She stood in front of the class and lectured for 45 minutes every day. Maybe it was the subject matter (govt) but I think she should have engaged the students a bit more. Either way, I have nothing against her

You do ALOT of busy work. She wasn't ever very clear on anything. Easy tests, but not the best at lectures. Bored to tears often in this class. However, she is a nice lady that will help however she can.

I do not recommend her. She really was interested in the subject and really tried to keep us interested as well, but that was a fail. All she gave was busy work that had nothing to do with our tests. I did so much work and I learned nothing from it. It was really a shame. If you take her, do all her busy work and you'll get an A

Took her class during a summer session. She gave daily take-home quizzes to keep us on track to read the chapters, and the test questions were straight from the quizzes. Lectures mainly consisted of her going through random govt websites, so it got quite boring. However, her character and personality kept you engaged long enough.

She is a very nice and funny lady. She has a great sense of humor but her class is pretty boring. She is very flexible with due dates and an understanding professor. If you just do all your work, you'll have an A.

Lots of busy work and too many papers. But we were guinea pigs for future classes so she wasn't strict on due dates. A very interesting person. Cares about her subject. Just needs to find a way to deliver it in a more interesting way. She is someone I'd choose as a friend - truly a wonderful human being. Very lenient on the final exam.

Very informative class. You do have to attend class. Extra credit opportunities are abundant so there is NO reason not to make an A. She is somewhat unconventional, and will force you to THINK. Critical thinking skills mandatory for this class. I throughly enjoyed it. If you take her for GOVT 2301 you will want to take her for GOVT 2302.

Michelsen is fantastic. Not a tough grader, if you do the work you get credit. Test are online and you get two chances to take them. The final is in class and it is over the entire semester, I'm sure I flunked it but it but I still made a high A in the class! I took her for GOVT 2301 & 2302, I'm taking her GOVT 2305 class in the fall! TAKE HER!!!

She doesn't have strict due dates and has tons of extra credit. I did the summer classes (1 & 2) and we had online assesments every week that are straight from the textbook. Wouldnt say shes an amazing teacher but shes pretty good.

She is a fantastic person! You must be able to think critically to succeed! A tad bit unorganized but that is becuase when I took her Spring 12 we were her first class. Plenty of extra credit optional. Wish there were more teachers that truly cared like she honestly does!

Went into this class not interested in government at all, but the enthusiasm that she brought to the subject has made a positive lasting impression on me. She's a really great teacher and truly wants to help her students succeed.

She is amazing!! Take this class, hands down. I ended the course with a 105 average and I'm not interested in government in the slightest. Reading bits and pieces of the text is ok as long as you are always in class. Go to class, she gives you bonus if you're there every day.

She's probably the best teacher I've ever had. She's so helpful and willing to work with you. Her lectures are all over the place, but as long as you go to class she'll hand out study guides that are replicas of test information. But make SURE you're in class, she notices and takes record. Tests are open note, as is the final!

I think Professor Michelsen is wonderful. When I started in her class I had no interest in Government at all. She taught me things I didn't even want to know! I thank her a lot for what I learned and actually retained!If you have her, wonderful, if you don't, you should, you don't know what you are missing.

Very enthusiastic about govt! If you can careless about govt going in, I promise, you will be pretty interested leaving. Very lenient and helpful! Ask questions, she loves that!

I took her class online and loved it!There is a lot of work that goes into the online class; you must read each chapter thoroughly, take a weekly quiz, watch a video and then respond in a discussion forum. There are 4 tests, the final is not comprehensive, and 4 essays due. She is lenient; focuses on content more than due dates.

She definitely works with you. Attendance is key for easy points, BUT be sure to read the book! Otherwise she will lose you in class for sure! She is all over the place with lecture and notes. Very unorganized. But she is passionate about what she does.

She really works with you and is interested in your well being and your grade in the class. I HIGHLY recomend her!

Take her. It's ridiculously easy if you do well in school already. I just graduated from high school. AP student. To me, it's a guaranteed A. Super sweet lady. Tries her best to accommodate her students.

She's so nice and so smart. Very lenient, she's extended deadlines basically every week. I'm taking the 6 week online summer course. You can take the assessment twice and it's the same questions too, so there's no reason why you can't get a 100. 100% take this class.

This class was easy but I learned so much!

Prof. Michelson goes out of her way to help everyone in her class. She is really engaged in teaching. She responds to all discussion board entrances. She works hard with compassion for her students and for the love of Political Science. You will love her and this class. She is asset to the Government department. You won't be disappointed.

She is super helpful, super friendly, and very straightforward in her teaching. You can tell she genuinely cares that you are learning and not having difficulty with material.

Well this past semester I can't say I enjoyed this course, many of my peers felt the same way. She was VERY unorganized in the beginning and while she cleaned it up a bit, I was still just as confused by her teaching methods and assignments. I was not impressed by her teaching styles nor would I take her again. I'm glad this course is over!

Although the instructor is helpful, her online class requires way too many hours of work. For example, you may have 3 tests (2-3 hrs ea) due ea wk, 2 discussions, and multiple online activities to complete. Overall, I spend way more time on this class than what should be required for a Govt class (12-15 hrs/ week). Take a different teacher!

Although I did not have much interest in government and politics, Mrs. M allowed me to become opinionated each week with the open discussions. Yes it was a lot of work, but she was very lenient! Definitely recommend her.

You couldn't ask for a better teacher, honestly. She cares, ask and she will help. She recaps class lectures on D2L after every class. She gives extra credit to the hwk and essays when you give more effort. Tests are hard but are open book, online, at home. Always made an A. Essays aren't hard, she gives guidelines and examples of what she wants.
