Funny, clear, extremely helpful. Always stays after class to answer any questions. Responds quickly to emails, whether they're about a topic in class, current event, or anything else. Makes the lectures fun. Pay attention and read the book, your tests will go great. You should go to all the lectures, but she won't get mad if you skip occasionally.
American government is about as fun as a sack of beans but it's good to know. Dr. Perry presents the information in powerpoints that she doesn't post. Make sure to read the textbook and go to class because there are clicker questions that make up a chunk of your grade. It doesn't matter if you get them right as long as you participate. Easy A/B!
Perry was a wonderful teacher and maybe I just didn't understand her teaching style. I often found myself lost during lectures. She does challenge you its not straight forward.
She really wants all of her students to pass. I took her for honors and she gave us a review sheet for every exam that covered more than we needed. I didn't read the book at all. Just read/watch the extra links she puts up and you're good. Her multiple choice questions are straight from the slides (which she doesn't post) so go to class/take notes!
Really nice lady. Her tests are straight from her lectures, but she doesn't put them online so you'll really need a friend or two in the class to get notes from if you miss. There are only three tests in that class, with the last one being worth a lot (I think 35%) so study with your notes and the textbook.
Dr. Perry was an amazing professor! Her lectures were both interesting and hilarious. Her tests were very fair- she gives weekly reading assignments and explains most of the assigned material in class with great examples. There were a total of 3 exams in addition to an attendance grade. Her class is very entertaining, so you'll want to go!
Professor Perry made the class as fun as it can be. She always had funny videos to go along with her lectures. In addition, her personality made the class better. The class is not an easy A but if you put in even just one hour of studying you should do well. Go to class! Her tests are very lecture specific.
Perry keeps class interesting with videos and humor. 2 midterms and a cumulative final and clicker participation (for attendance) are the only grades. She had powerpoints that she does not post that are almost directly from the book. I enjoyed her class and would take a course with her again.
Dr. Perry has been one of the best professors I've ever had. She has an amazing personality and keeps class interesting with videos and group dicussions. One thing that made her stand out is that she is very bipartisan when it comes to class and purposefully prevented us from those dicussions, which is rare for a POLS prof. 10/10 would take again!
This is definitely my hardest class this semester, but it isn't the worst POLS I can imagine. If you have a passion for politics then 100% take Perry but if you're just taking it because it's required theres an easier class out there for you.
I never really like government classes in high school, so I was dreading going into this class. I have to say though, professor Perry made the class easy to understand and enjoyable. There is a TON of reading, and it isn't the most exciting either but as long as you do the reading and pay attention in class you'll have an easy A!
Dr. Perry is a fantastic professor her enthusiasm makes this class great! Its always fun to have a younger professor who keeps class entertaining and exciting! The test are fair they are not hard at all. I personally did not buy any textbooks or did any readings all i studied was class notes and reviews she would post and still earned an A!
I don't normally post reviews for professors, but after reading some negative ones, I feel I need to. Dr. Perry is a young, excited bubbly professor who really loves to teach. Her lectures can drag on, but as long as you take notes (copy the slides!) And study, it's a very very easy A. My easiest A class since freshman year.
She really made me respect and enjoy the political science field! She's super passionate about research and answers our questions well, and if she doesn't know the answer, she gets back to us as quick as possible. She's also helpful during office hours and it helped me feel more comfortable about the class. Would love to take her again!
The class was interesting and actually kind of fun some days. Professor is very down to earth and keeps the class light. She has a slight liberal prospective that shows through the videos she shows (NPR and Daily Show), but she tries to get out of her own way and balance the argument.
I definitely recommend taking Pols206 with her. She is a great professor who cares about her students. She gave extra credit and bonus questions on a test. Its a required course and she makes the class a lot more enjoyable. I find myself using a lot of concepts and terms we learned in this class in my everyday life. She's that good.
You definitely need to read the book some because the lectures are just summaries of the chapters, and the test questions go more in depth. However she's very nice and she'l keep you awake during lectures with her energy and enthusiasm.
10/10 would definitely take her class again! She's full of enthusiasm and genuinely wants all of her students to succeed. She doesn't post her lecture slides so you can't really miss class. Reading the textbook and taking detailed notes will help because some of her test questions aren't covered in lecture. One of the nicest professors I've had.
Dr. Perry is a great prof. I loved my semester with her. For me, it was an easy A, but that's because I made sure to show up and take notes. I didn't open the book expect for the first exam, but the key to passing in understanding the vocab. The terms she's highlights can't just be memorized, make sure you know what she's saying and you'll do well.
Dr. Perry is an awesome professor! She genuinely cares about her students and will help you if you have problems or questions, just ask. Just go to class and pay attention and do the reviews that she gives you because her tests cover a little more than the lectures.
Dr. Perry is probably the best possible prof you could get for a political science class. She is funny, passionate about her work, and tries her best to make it interesting. Includes videos from popular culture to help teach political concepts. WOULD TAKE AGAIN. ESPECIALLY IN AN ELECTION YEAR. It might help you make a smart decision.
Brittany is hilarious. Very interesting lectures and she is a great speaker. The chapters are soooo long and you have to read a ton. Tests are hard and quizzes are online and easy. Read and you'll be fine
Dr. Perry is one of the nicest, most enthusiastic professors I've ever had. She does her best to make the class interesting, and is always available to talk about the materials. I would definitely take another class by her!
Only gave two midterms and a cumulative final along with a few easy online quizzes. Doesn't post slides so you better take good notes in class. As long as you do that though you'll do well on the tests. She's very passionate and tries to engage the students.
Perry was awesome! I don't understand the posts saying that you have to read. I never opened the book and got A's on all the tests. go to class, write down the powerpoint notes, and listen to her explain. things that she says in class are exactly how questions are worded on the tests. Shes funny, engaging, and uses videos. i enjoyed going to class
Grades consist of 2 tests, 2 papers, and several online quizzes and class is mostly lecture based. Dr. Perry is enthusiastic about what she teaches, but she encourages class discussion and it can drag on for a while. Lectures are somewhat interesting and she's always willing to help you out. If you pay attention and read, you should make an A.
I LOVED Dr. Perry and I would definitely take a class with her again. I was dreading Poli Sci but she made it interesting and fun. She is really enthusiastic about the material, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her students, TAKE POLS WITH DR. PERRY!!!
Dr. Perry was so enthusiastic about poli sci that it sparked my interest. She often played videos (John Oliver, The Daily Show, etc.) that really helped to absorb the material. Doesn't post notes so def go to lecture. Skim the readings as most of the test questions come from lecture and take advantage of her review days before the tests.
She is so funny and is very open to hearing questions. She wants students to learn and will take personal time to find answers for questions she may not know much about and promptly answer it the following class period. I do not like liberal arts things, but I loved this class.
Perry is an AMAZING professor. She makes the class interesting, cares about her students, and is great about not being biased. If you come to class and take good notes and do the study guides that she makes you can make an A. Pay attention to her examples in class and really understand the concepts for the tests. Highly recommended.
She isn't boring to listen to. However, tests are too difficult for no reason. She purposely tries to trick you. She had to curve our midterm by a lot. Which was appreciated, but still. It was unnecessary. The tests had questions that were a paragraph long. Try to take someone else that doesn't try to trick you on tests and just tests normally.
Perry is the best! She is super sweet and she made government a lot more interesting. Especially if you have her during an election season. I had her with Trump and Clinton and she was super helpful in giving us factual information about them both. There are 2 tests and a final. Take good notes and study her lecture notes and you'll make a A!
Perry is an excellent choice for an easy A. Her tests are 90% based off her lecture. Textbook is literally optional. Although she may bring into the class some politics with which you may disagree, all you must do in order to pass the course is: Take notes on every lecture at every class. Study those notes.
Dr. Perry was my favorite professor this semester! She gets really into what she does. She is extremely smart in her field ( She graduated from an Ivy!). She keeps the class extremely relevant to current events. Her tests are average, they arent too bad. She makes her office hours convenient for you! If you have the option to take her, do it!
I only wish she taught MORE classes!!!!!
IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE, TAKE HER CLASS!!! She shows funny videos throughout class that are relevant to the content but keep the class interesting. She also truly cares about her students and whether they are passing &learning, you take a few 5 question quizzes throughout the semester which are super easy and the tests were straight from the notes.
you want to take this professor thats all that needs to be said.
One of my favorite professors in my college career! Very clear expectations and tests you over exactly what she teaches you - no guessing about what is on the test. If you pay attention in lecture you will do well. Very engaging and enthusiastic! Would highly recommend!
Dr. Perry's lectures will have you excited to learn about politics and why we have them. She give online quizzes that she warns you about; plus you can use your notes to answer. She gave out extra credit quizzes to help with low test grades and she gives points if she messed up somewhere on test. Attendance isn't required, but you might want to go.
Dr. Perry is an amazing professor. POLS 206 is a required class but she is such a great professor it doesn't seem like one. 100% take her!
Professor Perry is one of the most awesome professors I've had. She's funny and makes her points really clear. She tells you that you need the book but I never opened my book all semester long and still got an A. Just make sure you go to class and pay attention!!! She's a great professor and would highly recommend !
I loved taking government with her! She was always enthusiastic and made the boring material interesting to listen to. She always provided extra credit opportunities and even curved our midterm! 10/10 would take another class with her :)
TAKE HER! She is so great! Gives complex review before each exam and goes over it the class before exam. Goes over exam in class after we take it too. Final is cumulative. Offers extra credit. Weekly/bi-weekly online quizzes that aren't difficult if you just keep up with them. Textbook isn't totally necessary but definitely helpful!
Dr. Perry is fantastic. She's very informed, caring, and hip. She makes class interesting & shows various videos to help students engage. Even offered office hours at Starbucks! You have to TRY not to get an A. Simple quizzes online (20% of grade), test straight from lectures, & review sheets. Simply copy her powerpoints in class and review them.
I hate Politics but Professor Perry actually made the material very interesting! Make sure to take note down, especially the things that come straight from her mouth, that is what her tests mostly consist of. I never once touched my book, so I wouldn't recommend wasting money on it. She is an all around amazing professor, she makes you want to learn
Loved Professor Perry! Highly Recommended! She makes this required class fun!
Great Professor. If you go to class and take notes you will do fine. She really cares about what she teaches and her students.
She is an amazing professor, who makes the class funny and interesting. I didn't read the book but I went over the reviews before each exam and got an A. So if you study her lecture PowerPoint notes / fill out the reviews and study those,an A is very possible. There are also easy online quizzes to help your grade. She really cares for the students.
Such an awesome professor. To know all the notes for the class, you do need to go to class because she doesn't post them online. Gives two chances of extra credit that really help grade. Tests are pretty easy when you study all the terms she puts on her review. Her lectures also keep you interested!
Dr. Perry is amazing and I enjoyed her teaching style, especially considering the class is a required course for all majors-which is usually not great to say the least. If you have the chance to take her I recommend to do so, you will not regret it. She also is known to cancel class and let out early!
Brittany Perry is great, her lectures are always very interesting and relevant to current events. Make sure to attend lectures and take note. If you miss class make sure to have someone that can send you the notes. Quizzes are online but don't forget about them!
Brittany Perry was an awesome professor. As long as you memorize the terms on her reviews your almost guaranteed an A in this class. Study about 3 days before, make flashcards. This class was an easy A for me.
The book isn't too necessary since lectures are so detailed but it does help when it comes to tests and frequent quizzes! Always easy to reach by email or during office hours. Extra credit offered a few times as well.
Perry is very sweet and she cares about her students. Class can be boring and slow/redundant, but she does a good job of making sure you understand the important topics. She also makes reviews (just a list of terms, really) before each exam that are pretty helpful. I didn't read the book at all and ended the class with an A just by showing up
Professor Perry is really really good. Take good notes (Obviously you should study these notes) and you will do well. However, if you struggle, show her that you care and she will help you improve.
I loved Professor Perry's class. She really cares about her students, and offers extra credit. I never used the textbook, and made an A in the class. Just go to class, take notes, and study a day or two before the test. She makes class fun and interesting, because she has a great sense of humor and personality. Take her if you can. She is great!
Dr. Perry was my favorite professor my freshman year by far. She makes you interested in the topic and is very easy to listen to. If you make the effort to show up to class and pay attention you will pass get an easy B. Study a bit and you will get an A. She makes sure to always have office hours so you can come in and get help. I loved her class!
Dr. Perry is a great professor! Her lectures are clear and easy to follow, and she does her best to make them interesting. She also offers lots of bonus point opportunities and open-note quizzes make up a good chunk of your grade, making it easy to get an A. basically, if you show up to class, you will pass.
Dr. Perry's lectures were funny and to the point. Her notes are only available if you go to lecture, but her quizzes and exams are all based on what she covers in class, and she offers multiple extra credit opportunities. Easy A, with minimal effort.
Great lectures, attendance isn't mandatory but you'll want to be there. Only grades are exams and online quizzes, keeps her own political opinions out of the class and only talks about facts.
In my opinion, Perry had boring lectures that I couldn't force myself to pay attention to. Quizzes were not announced until the last minute and seemed random. Perry's website is unorganized as well so it is difficult to see when things are due. The book isn't like 207 where you can get away with missing lecture and still pass. Good luck.
Her class is more challenging than I anticipated, but she is more than willing to help you whenever she is available. I met with her after I had missed a class and instead of being angry, she asked if there was anything going on with me outside of school. Extremely caring and a wealth of knowledge about political science. Take her class if you can!
Perry is an amazing profesor! I recommend taking her, its obvious she's passionate about the material! She tries hard to answer all your questions! Exams are fair and come straight from the reading and notes. She gives extra credit! She finds outside material and incorporates it into class very nicely. You have to try really hard to fail the class!
She interrupts her students a lot. And she only pretends to care. Her exams are too long, and she doesn't allow you to access her lecture material outside of class.
Brittany is an absolutely amazing professor!!! So lucky to have taken her class! Best lectures and very inspirational! Is always willing to help and is great at communication! Just do the work and don't be lazy, you'll get an A!
Professor Perry is fantastic. All you have to do is come to class, take good notes, and complete her exam reviews. That is about all there is to it. She gives out a lot of extra credit and assigns easy quizzes to boost your grade. If you put in minimal effort, you'll do well. She's also super friendly and easily accessible outside of class.
Professor Perry is fantastic. All you have to do is come to class, take good notes, and complete her exam reviews. That is about all there is to it. She gives out a lot of extra credit and assigns easy quizzes to boost your grade. If you put in minimal effort, you'll do well. She was also super friendly and easily accessible outside of class.
Dr. Perry is awesome. She gives test reviews for each test. The Final is non-cumulative. Her notes are very clear and she provides everything that you will need to prepare for a test. She also gives many opportunities for extra credit. Overall I would highly recommend.
By far my favorite Professor at Texas A&M. She really cares about her students. Just take her, if you can get in the class before it fills up.
Great prof. Study lectureA. Take Perry!
I'm not much of a government/political science person, but Dr. Perry really made me interested in the material. Her class was my favorite class the semester I took her. The books and the supplemental readings/videos are important for the tests, especially the extra readings. And gives extra credit and lots of quizzes to get an A.
Her class is fairly easy, she is the sweetest person on earth. Textbook recommended but not needed, I barely used it. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and her exams are super easy.
Mrs. Perry has to be the most forgiving professor there is. Online quizzes and extra credit really make a large difference in your grade. Tough exams with heavy detailing and tricky wording but she really gives you all opportunities to succeed in her class. She does a good job of teaching some controversial topics too. if you take pols 206 take her
To simply put it... she is wonderful. Go to class, take notes, study before exams and you will get an A. The book is very useful to clear some of the topics up. I would get the book to be safe, it definitely helped me along the way.
She doesn't post PPTs online, so you have to come to class. A lot of her questions on the tests come from what she SAYS, not just what's on the PPT. Book not necessary to make an A but will make exams easier. She doesn't curve, but she gives plenty of EC to turn an 87 to a 90. She's the best professor for POLS206! My favorite professor at TAMU.
Professor Perry is an amazing professor and I thoroughly enjoyed her class! She presents information during her lectures in a non-biased and effective manner which is a bonus. Tests are fairly easy as long as you pay attention and go to class. The book isn't entirely necessary for some people, but I found it pretty interesting and useful for tests.
I'm a junior and I can easily say that Dr. Perry was my favorite professor at A&M. She's does a great job at keeping your interest in a typically not so interesting class. Very enthusiastic about what she's teaching and really makes it easy for you as long as you show up! Take her!!
Dr. Perry is one of my top 5 TAMU profs for sure. Her lectures are always super fun and interesting as is she. She's got a very intoxicating personality and great lecture style. She gives out a topic list for test review. Get a study group together to make reviews and you'll be sitting pretty. Plus extra credit. Great prof.
I loved her! My first semester, I tried to take a POLS and had to drop the class, I could not get it, but Perry really teaches and makes material easy to understand. She also provides study guides for exams and that's always helpful. TAKE HER, you won't regret it.
Super nice lady. Very fair grader. Easy A if you just show and up and put in the effort
Dr. Perry is an amazing person. She really cares about her students but she expects them to put their own effort as well. For Race & Politics we had to write 2 papers each 4-5pgs and had 2 exams and one final. She gives out terms to know for your exams and there are no surprises. I really loved her class because she was so passionate about it.
Dr. Perry is like the nicest person ever. She really cares about her students. She was always so excited about the material. She gives reviews before every test (there are 3) and they are usually pretty accurate. There were two, five-page papers due as well. She was a little bit of a tougher grader with the essays, but over all she is a GREAT prof!
Amazing Prof, really cares about the students! Class consists of 2 papers about 5 pages each. 2 tests and 1 final. She gives out super helpful reviews for the tests and also gives a few extra credit opportunities. She's very passionate about the material and makes the class super interesting.
Professor Perry is by far my favorite professor I've ever taken. She cares about her students and is so passionate about the subject. As long as you study the study guides, tests will be so easy. Also papers are very easy and fairly graded. As long as you put in the effort, it's almost a guaranteed A. Plus she makes class so fun!!! 100% TAKE HER !!
A great prof! You must attend class to get notes because she does not post her slides. Does basically anything she can to ensure you receive a good grade. We only had 1 essay and we had 3 dates we could choose to complete that essay by.
Dr. Perry's class was so interesting. I'm conservative but I still learned a lot from Race and Politics. The assignments aren't too difficult, and as long as you study, the exams are easy. Dr. Perry is also very accessible in office hours and over email. I'd highly recommend taking her!
(Honors POLS 206) Before this class, I absolutely HATED history. I still do, but for once, I had a teacher who actually made it at least mildly interesting. The papers she assigned us made us explore some aspect of political science in a way that didn't turn me away, and her tests didn't ask you about arbitrary information from the book.
Dr. Perry is a great prof and does a good job at presenting "polarizing" topics in a nonbiased way. I really enjoy her pols 233 class, and I respect her a lot for dealing with the inciting questions that often happen in class due to the material covered. Overall, a really good pols professor and i definitely would recommend her classes.
I do not believe Professor Perry has the proper ability to teach the class. She does not convey the material clearly.
Dr. Perry is an absolutely amazing professor! I can genuinely say she is probably one of the best I've ever had. She discusses topics that aren't easy to talk about. She is incredible!
One of the sweetest profs I've had at A&M. She gives quizzes on eCampus that are easy as long as you have your notes. As long as you go to class and pay attention, the exams are a piece of cake. She is also really funny and passionate about POLS.
I love her!!!! She is the best and most Progressive prof at A&M!!!!
Great professor, it's really obvious she cares about her students and the material she's teaching. When I was out with the flu the same week that I had four tests in one day she was really flexible with letting me reschedule my test in this class and turn in my quiz late for full credit.
Her tests honestly weren't that hard. She wasn't trying to trick us, and most of her questions came straight from her lectures. I would recommend attending class and reading the book. Although I took her honors course, it was much easier than taking regular pols 206.
The class is literally based off 3 test worth 80% of your overall grade. Has online quizzes every few weeks that you can use notes on. Overall not a super hard class, test questions can be confusing at times but just need to study a lot for your test and you will be fine.
I hated this course, the questions on the exam and quizzes were incredibly vague a total GPA killer. Dr. Perry was OK.
Professor Perry is a good professor! This was her first time teaching this specific course and I thought she did a good job. She has quizzes that are a real grade booster and posts reviews for each exam. The first exam was kind of difficult, the second exam was pretty easy, but the final is cumulative and challenging. Overall a good class!
Perry is the bomb! Very sweet and very loving, and really really really loves her job! Wont regret taking her!
Perry is an awesome prof. Highly recommend! She gives very interesting and relevant lectures and allows for tons of audience participation. Class is very test heavy and final is cumulative, but not that difficult. Easy, open-note quizzes are given about every 2 weeks. She gives an easy extra credit assignment that could really bump up your grade.
Dr. Perry is very passionate about what she does, and makes classes interesting and really makes you think. The class is about 80% tests but she does give a really good extra credit opportunity(the best Ive seen in a class) and is always available to help you succeed in the class. By far my favorite professor, and I recommend taking her!
Dr. Perry is honestly my favorite professor EVER. She is so passionate about what she does, and takes time to get to know her students if you visit her during office hours. All grades came from tests or quizzes, and she gives extra credit opportunity at the end of the course.
Perry is easily my fav POLS prof. She's so interesting and made the 8am easy to wake up for. 3 exams and quizzes. gives reviews for exams. she teaches through a left leaning lens i would say, which some people hated but i ADORED. she backs up everything she teaches with a ton of citations and offers them to the class. TAKE THIS CLASS!!
Perry is honestly such a queen/savage. If you want a good grade in the class you have to go to class to get the notes she talks about in class. Sometimes her lectures/notes can be contradicting when you study which is frustrating. Do the readings! Does a good job of not being biased on certain political topics.
Perry is a great professor! Her lectures are informative and stimulating. Most grades are exams, but if you attend the lectures you won't need to break yourself studying. She is very respectful of political views. I felt I could tell which way she leans, but she didn't let that influence how she teaches. She also gives chances for extra credit.
Prof Perry's class was amazing! If you go to lectures, and read the textbook this class won't be that difficult. I would recommend reading all the readings she assigns and at the end of the semester she also gives a good extra credit opportunity!
Dr. Perry is easily one of the best professors in the Texas A&M pols department. Her class was incredibly insightful and she does a GREAT job at conveying the material without letting any of her own personal preferences influence it. If you can take her, take her. Then take her again. Then again. Best professor.
Dr. Perry is absolutely amazing! You can tell the amount of effort she puts into her course - she really cares about her students! It is extremely helpful to go to class and do the readings. Also, take the quizzes. The tests are not bad as long as you review your lecture notes and the PowerPoint slides.
Prof Perry is super sweet and doesn't make class very challenging. I took her honors section and we just had to write a couple extra papers and do short answer essays on each test. She told us that her honors students often get better grades than her regular students, so the essays aren't very hard. Textbook isn't necessary at all!
I loved Prof. Perry! Exams are worth a good amount and cover lots of material, but the questions come from lectures, quizzes, and/or readings. You will have to put in effort for an A. Theres a nice extra credit opportunity at the end of the semester that can raise your grade up to 2 points. Stay on top of your work and youll be fine!
Fun, knowledgeable, and passionate about the material. Very kind and will encourage/answer any questions. Easy open notes quiz in eCampus every few weeks. Lectures are very interesting. Tests are 30 multiple choice questions and straightforward. Tests mandate some studying but not a whole lot. Definitely my favorite professor I've had so far.
being a stem major I had no interest in this class whatsoever, but Dr. Perry is indeed a magnificent teacher, she provides the material required in a very interesting manner, and she made an awful class a great experience. In addition to the fact, that I had her for the semester with all the COVID-19 going on and she was just so accommodating.
Professor Perry was very easy to get hold of and communicated very well with the students. Make sure you attend EVERY SINGLE lecture session and take advantage of her office hours because 100% of your grade comes from jotting down notes for the upcoming exams. Many extra credit opportunites were given, including +2pts to entire course grade.
Dr. Perry is so enthusiastic and really cares about her students. The open note quizzes online are very easy and based on the book/lecture. Very open to questions and accessible outside of class. The exams are very manageable. She gives study guides that are very helpful. Some studying should be done but nothing over 2-3 hrs. Recommend 100%
Super easy pols class. Lectures aren't mandatory but she doesn't post her slides online so I'd recommend you go. Textbook not mandatory either. Test questions come straight from lecture notes.
I have never been interested in government or politics, but she did pique my interest! She's 100% unbiased and is passionate about her stuff. 1 quiz about every week (online, open-book, no time limit) and 3 tests (no final). She gave us the opportunity for 2 pts on our final grade extra credit. Very caring prof and responds quickly. Take her!!!
Dr. Perry is such an icon!! Her lectures were so interesting, even at 8 in the morning. Not only were they interesting, but very factual, which can be kind of difficult when talking about American politics. Her tests were straightforward and pretty easy, though I do recommend reading the material beforehand for them.
Shes one of the few liberal Professors thats not a ideological loon. Shes smart, caring m, firm and fair. Her classes are what college should be. Ive taken two of her courses and wish I could take more. Its hard to put into words how much I respect this hard working and intelligent professor whom I always disagree with. Take her class!!!!!!!!!
Professor Perry had very thorough lectures. You had to attend classes, though, as the powerpoints were not uploaded online. The exams were mostly questions exactly from lectures, and a few textbook questions. Skimming the textbook was adequate, and honestly the extra reading material wasn't tested.
DO NOT TAKE HER. Her class is not well structured and she provides half-truths. She did not take follow up questions well. Mostly it was one-sided conversations.
She's an amazing professor! If you have a choice to take her, DO IT! If you're struggling in the class, just go to her office hours and she will help you through what you're struggling with. She is a very kind professor and very factual as well. She's very unbiased in a class that it is hard to be unbiased in only cares for facts!
Professor Perry was AWESOME! The class was asynchronous, and graded through 5 quizzes, a final and some fun surveys. If you watch the lectures you'll get an A on the quiz. I never did any of the readings. SO kind and really interesting to watch. For sure one of the best POLS professors. Do not hesitate to take her.
I wish I had the opportunity to take this class in person but it was still a great experience considering it was online w/ COVID Her lectures are amazing and she's super understanding. The only thing is her quiz questions are really specific so you need to do the readings and watch her lectures
Easy class, Perry was awesome. Everything was go at your own pace with a few scheduled quizzes and lecture sessions. Loved this class and Perry.
Pros: Dr. Perry is a very nice and respectful professor. She makes sure she remains level-headed in all political conversations. If you need to email her about anything she usually responds very quickly. Cons: No textbook, No variety in topics, Assigns very biased and outdated articles, taught a very one-sided perspective on current events
Professor Perry is one of the best professors I've had in my time here at TAMU. I love the way she teaches the class. She is also extremely respectful of everyone.
