She is a real down to earth teacher. She will ocastionally walk around while in a lab and have casual conversations with you. and laid back
I hated this teacher. Out of 8 classes she was only there for 3. She never tells you when quizzes will be and never lets you know what you need to study. Over all she's confusing and never there to teach! I wouldn't recommend her!
I admire this woman more than anyone I can think of. Before u start bad mouthing her for not attending class, u should know the reason behind it. She has a terminal illness. Yes, that's right... SHE'S DYING! the fact that she's still teaching while going through what she's going through is amazing! I applaud this woman for her courage and strength!
She's open to questions & was very nice when I talked to her after class. I have to agree w/ the other posts though; she did miss class, but we always had a decent sub & Ms Duos does have a terminal illness. I appreciate all she did for my class and she was very fair considering she was hospitalized a lot of the semester. I would take her again.
Bronwyn is a very good teacher. She is very down to earth and talks to us like real people. She's an excellent teacher, if you study you'll pass. If you skip class and don't study of course your going to fail. She's very helpful
STUDY! It's supposed to be a learning experience. Can't fault her for students' lack of effort. She's very helpful and really wants students to do well. And she's brilliant.
She is great! Really helpful and very friendly. Will be taking her again for Microbiology.
very helpful and friendly gives a quiz at the beginning of every class on the previous lab so make sure to study the previous material she usually will tell you a couple of questions on the quiz and theres only 5 questions so there easy but she is a wonderful person highly recommend
If you don't make an A in this class it's because your probably not going to class. Her quizzes come straight from your lab book. I would read the material while I was walking to class and passed with bonus points every-time. The labs are fun and she is an easy teach and easy going. Gives you a quiz before each lab, one lab report, and 2 test.
Miss Bronwyn is awesome! Show up to class and talk to her and she will love you. quizzes before every class, very straight forward. 2 exams (EASY), she gives a study guide and bonus points if she likes your lab group. MAKE SURE you stay and finish all of your experiments or she might just take points off! MUST go to class if you want to pass!!
great teacher. fun and entertaining! easy class overall but make sure you attend class! its very important. tests are not too hard but still need to study. and quizzes every class at the beginning.
I THINK OVERALL SHES FAIRLY EASY. IF YOU GO TO CLASS AND LISTEN TO THE SMALL THINGS SHE SAYS, SHE PRETTY MUCH SAYS WHAT WILL BE THE ESSAYS ON THE TESTS AND THE MATCHING AND STUFF LIKE THAT. SHE GIVES A LITTLE STUDY GUIDE THAT HELPS. IT IS GOOD TO READ PARTS OF THE BOOK. SHE GAVE 3 TESTS AND WITH EACH THERE WAS H/W PROBS. OH AND A SCRAPBOOK OR PAPER
I had her for lab and it was always an entertaining class. She is very easy ,and very outgoing. If you do your work you will have no problem passing this class. I highly recommend her to anyone and Im taking her again for microbiology,
Class is very easy and helpful. It helped me to understand what I was doing in biology alot more. I did better in lab than in my bio class!
Loves the subject, but tests get harder as the semester progresses. Has homework grades that help "pad" your grade. Very nice and laughs alot at stupid micro stuff. I would recommend her.
Shes easy, the bio. lab is so easy, one lab report worth 70 points and quizzes before every lab, mid term comprised of the first 5 labs! EASY CLASS! RECOMMENDED TEACHER !
GREAT TEACHER! She knows what shes talking about and its an easy A! She gives a quiz every class so attendance is pretty much mandatory, she helps out alot with the labs, and we only had to write one big lab report the whole semester!
She was awesome! She gives bonus points away just to help her students. she also does extra credit.
151 or 152...whaichever is the lab...Anyhoo, Class is easy of you SHOW UP ---Be ON TIME (Quiz every week) and study the material she provides...Easy cheese, No tricks or BS...She comes off a little tough on day 1...She's a sweetheart, Don't let her fool you. She DOES expect you to do the work...BUt it ain't no thang, just do it! Highly recommended.
this women is very rude to people. she tried to pick her favorites by pointing them put and make others feel bad. she truly can not teach and i wonder how she got a teaching degree. she does not explain well, things she said, she expect her class to know everything when she is talking. if you wish to tak her class, good luck on the grades.
Duos is cool...the woman is a freaking genius!! Just study her notes and participate in lab. She will help you in her office if you need it which you shouldn't...Take her!
Rude to students. Makes you feel stupid. Doesn't explain lab directions that well, then gets ticked off when you ask her to repeat herself. Gives 12 quizzes, drops 2. Quiz EVERY single class. Other than her rudeness, it was an easy class.
Super SMART woman. Super HARD class. Shes so intelligent that she cant understand that normal people arnt as smart as she is. She read off a power point and didn't explain so I had a hard time b/c that's not how i lean but other then that an amazing woman super nice and willing to help if you need it!
Just take notes and pay attention.
I really liked this teacher. Zoology has a lot of information, so you're going to have to study a lot. You also must attend class. She doesn't try to trick you on tests and is very helpful. She may come off as a bit rude but she has a dry sense of humor and is actually super nice and helpful. I'm taking her for micro next semester.
This woman sucks as a teacher. She is the worse teacher in the world. She is rude and she always expects everyone to know what she is talking about. She is constantly catching an attitude if you ask her to repeat something. Overall she sucks and I hope she gets fired, seriously. I do not understand how she even got a degree to teach!
she knows her stuff, but doesnt teach well. she stares at the wall and reads off a power point. if u take her, read the book! tests are strait from book material
She cannot teach well at all. She has a real big problem reaching to students on their level of understanding. Going to her class was pointless for me, but I still went anyway. She says exactly whats on the PowerPoint slides and nothing more. She can be pretty rude at times.. I really wouldn't recommend her to anybody.
This lady is so smart, she's not the best teacher in the world. She is nice, just has a dry sense of humor. She gives bonus on the tests always, and if you go to class she will like you a lot more. Nonetheless, all she does is read of the powerpoints. She curves the tests and offers bonus, which means my grade=A
Ok im going to set the record straight. If you do not go regularly attend class and take notes, you have no chance of passing. You also have no right to say she is the worst teacher. She hands nothing to you, you have to WORK wich is a hard word for some lol. I came out with an A plus and I loved it and I loved her!
I had her for lab; it's an easy class, but she is extremely rude. I don't even think she realizes she's being rude, so that makes it a lot worst. Lab is easy and she is tolerable at the very most.
She isn't rude, she just isn't a spoonfeeder. She gives you lots of opportunities to get extra credit or do assignments to bring grades up. She has trouble dumbing down her knowledge for a low-level class, and she does pretty much just read the powerpoints and talk about advanced stuff. However, she is a good and helpful teacher. Easy A!
She's very helpful. She also gives many chances for bonus and smaller in class assignments to help boost your grade. If you pay attention and take good notes during her lectures and study for her tests you should do fine in her class. I would recommend her.
I would take her again.. She is easy n nice... Quiz n test are not hard at all.. All info come from notes n lab manual
She is a very down to earth professor. She does not stress the little things.I enjoyed her alot and she was extremly helpful. Her quizzes are easy, but her tests are all fill in the blank. The tests are easy as long as you study and attend class. I would recommend her to anyone!
Taking 100% online, pretty easy. Just read and do the assignments and the exams are fairly straightforward. She answers emails in a very timely manner. I've never met her in person, but she seems nice. I would take her again.
100% net. Material is difficult. Must read book. Have 4 homework assignments and 4 exams. She is a wonderful person willing to help in any way.
She seems nice enough. I should not have taken the class online. I did not understand the content and while she gives several outside resources, it is hard to know what to use. Quizzes were cake; tests were brutal!
Fair warning: the online class is extremely hard. You MUST read the textbook to even make a D on the tests. There are no assignments except one research term paper. If you take the online class expecting it to be easier, you're in for a nasty surprise. All tests are curved but even with the curve more than half the class dropped before midterm.
GO TO CLASS! She is more likeley to help you if you are actually there for class. she is the one you want to take if you are not a science major. Class requires work but trust me, if I can do it, anyone can.
This course is a killer and I hated it. The exams are ridiculously hard, and the things you are expected to know are insane. She may be a great professor to take in person but AVOID doing her Biology online. There was nothing learned much beyond molecular biology and it felt more like a Chem class than Biology.
Mrs. Duos is a wonderful teacher. The only reason things can sometimes be confusing is because she's so smart she doesn't realize she goes through things kinda quickly. But it's amazing how smart she is. She's so helpful. She gives great outlines/study guides for the midterm and final. You can pass her class with an "A" you just have to work for it
She was an ok teacher. Kind of rude at times, I don't think intentional though. Not many grades, 6 Quizzes worth 10 points each, the midterm & the final both worth 150 points. She dropped the lowest quiz. If you take this class get a good lab partner & you should know how to use a microscope! Oh & you also have to get the lab binder.
If you dont want a lot of work dont take her. She assigns 100 questions per chapter. Quizzez every week. Not learning anything and shes not helpful at all.
Quiz every week, 4 exams, weekly forum posts, and modules every week. I wouldn't take this class online again. Followed the lectures and the test have nothing to do with them. I thought the other reviews were fabricated but really don't do it!
Mrs. Duos is an amazing teacher. Her tests are straightforward. The content is pretty tough, but that's Biology. She emails back quickly and will answer any questions you have. Have a good understanding of the content and you'll do fine. Would take her class again in a heartbeat.
Don't take her for an easy A, take her bc you actually need to know bio. 2-3 chapters due in a week, each having over 100 questions & a quiz. Plus 4 exams & forum. I work full-time & go to school, & passed easily with effort & dedication. I emailed her when I struggled & she got right back to me with resources. Tough, but I'd def. take her again.
This teacher does not respect students She does not do any effort in that course except giving the students access to the textbook material and slides. Homeworks are too much, 3 chapters every week with their textbook assignments that might take up to 4 hours each plus discussion. Please consider another instructor for this course
Online classes are tough, but she gives you all the resources to pass. I loved Dous so much. She is so caring and just so down to Earth. But you have to put effort into this class just as much as in class if not more. Got to her office hours or email her questions and she will help you out.
TAKE HER FOR THIS CLASS! I learned so much by taking her as my lab teacher. She gives weekly quizzes so print out her powerpoints and use the lab manual. Her study guides are straight forward and is everything that will be on the midterm/final. She is so sweet and caring, she really wants you to succeed.
I took Professor Duos online for lecture and she wasn't bad at all. Any concerns I had she was quick to respond via email and tests were super easy. I'm not sure what she's like in class, but she was awesome online. I would definitely take her again!
I took her online, so I've never actually met her, but the course was straight-forward and the same thing every week. The amount of work doesn't line up with the points personally, but as long as you do it all, the class was super easy. Especially if you like a set schedule.
It was an online class but she was very nice through emails/moodle, etc. Always sent out reminders about upcoming assignments/tests. very helpful. All work was done through an online textbook. Not very difficult
She is very straight forward in her lectures and tells you how the mid term and final will be set up. She also has the highest average for the midterm and final every year, so she's doing something right. She is very nice and approachable and is willing to help you with whatever you need. Weekly quizzes as well, but study the material & you'll pass
I took her online GBIO class. She's a really great professor. She is really good about replying to emails the same day and will help you out if you're not understanding a concept. We only had 3 tests that were pretty challenging. Homework was super easy, it was just discussion and 15 question quiz. Do your homework! It will help in the end!
She relies heavily on Connect LearnSmart modules. Each chapter you must answer questions for points. Each chapter has more than 100 questions - FOR 5 POINTS TOTAL! Quizzes are more difficult than exams. Emailed for assistance & got mediocre responses about focusing on the objectives. Tried to meet with her in-person several times & she wasn't avail
I took both Micro 223 and Bio153. Micro was very easy. There are alot of assignments, but you are able to get an A easily. All of the assignments are on connect. Her Bio153 class however is not as easy. It uses mind tap website. If you read the whole chapter before the quiz you should be fine. Also she makes many mistakes that but does not fix them
IM WARNING YOU NOW, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS. Nothing is structured. you basically get a "heres your textbook, test tomorrow on the whole thing" from her. She doesn't tell you a single thing to study. There is a 100 questions assignment EVERY WEEK and the quizzes are worded too difficult to understand. Dont even try to email for help. NO HELP AT ALL.
Here's the online class in a nutshell: every week, you are given about 100 questions worth 5 points. You are also required to post on the discussion board topic. There is also a quiz worth ten points. Four tests, with the last one being comprehensive. You're given the textbook and lecture slides to prepare you for the test. Lots of work.
Assignments were twice a week and prepared you for the tests. Test were fairly easy. If you had questions or struggled in anything, she was very willing to help. This is my second time taking this professor and I recommend all biology students to take her.
If you have to take any Micro teacher, she would be the one to take and I recommend taking it ONLINE. The hardest thing about this course was a few essay questions on her tests, ESP on the final!
I just felt like the PowerPoints she provided us were not what we needed to be prepared for the homework or tests. The tests are kind of hard, you have multiple essay questions on each and she grades them toughly.
this class was quite time consuming but i didn't have to go to lectures so it's fine. it was very easy. i wouldn't recommend unless you are very interested in phyla and classification, or you have a lot of time on your hands. teacher was very nice when it came to grading and sent lots of emails and gave a bit of extra credit. perfect online teacher
if you take anyone else besides her you will have a hard time. she is the besttt of them all and she knows her stuff and don't mind making sure that you know it as well. She is always willing to help and lovesss to give extra credit opportunities. I advise you all to take her if you want to pass any micro or general biology course
She is the best teacher ever!! I take her for both Mic223 online and Mic224. I love her so much. One of the best professors Ive had! Im grateful to have had the opportunity to take her class.
She's Awesome! Very helpful and understanding. Take her if you can!! Luckily a lot of the material can be found online:)
This class was NOT easy - her tests are very difficult and tricky. I have never not made an A in a class... until this class. Beware: SHE NOW USES WEBCAM MONITORING DURING EXAMS. Also, she is never in her office, not even during office hours. She does reply to emails, though. She offers some bonus throughout the semester. Good luck.
Dr. Duos was great! it's just a hard class. Lots of information you have to cover fast. She gives you every resource needed to succeed and always offers help! Uses respondus and webcam for exams but allows for 2 cheat sheets! Read the textbook non-stop you will read every page by the end! You can 100% make an A if you try! She was super caring!
Micro is not easy no matter what teacher you have. You HAVE to read and understand but, Duos curves most tests, gives a little extra credit, and is always available if you need help. Super sweet lady!
This was an online class so I met with her when the semester started to get study tips from her. I did everything she told me to do for all of her tests and still got a D/F on every single one. However, she does curve tests because the entire class does just as bad so I ended up doing ok, barely. I will never take her again nor do i recommend her.
Took this class online. BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT take this teacher online if you're not prepared to read the entire book front to back, make study guides, do the homework, & still barely pass the exam. She does allow 2 cheat sheets, but the exams are insanely hard. She curves the exams, but you do not want to depend on that, ESPECIALLY nursing majors!
Good teacher. Will learn a lot in this class. Very detail oriented.
Took this online (webcam for tests). Forum and bonus points do not help. Basically, you are punished for taking it online because it is brutal and set up for overkill. Allows 2 cheat sheets but her questions are tricky and nit picky so they dont help. This one will defeat most of you. Stay Away from this one and find better!
I don't know why many say this class is hard. I took it online and it was a piece of cake. You have an assignment due every week (via an online system) and have to make a discussion response every week - you do it, you get a 100. The online weekly assignment is time consuming (100-300 questions), but it's online. So that makes it easy. Friendly too
I would not recommend taking this class online. Test are very difficult and nothing like the homework assignments or "study guides" (learning objectives) that she gives. She does curve test grades though but recently she found out some people were cheating and the whole class took the fall and she un-curved the final exam. JUST TAKE SOMEONE ELSE.
Her test are very hard. She gives you PowerPoint lectures that are basically just the book typed. I studied very hard for her test and never made anything over a 50%. She does curve test grades. Uses webcam during test. Wouldnt recommend
This class was VERY easy to take online. ALL the answers to the homework, quizzes, AND exams can be found online. If you spend some time searching the questions you will get a 100 on each assignment, or very close to it. However, there are a couple drawbacks- homework is 100-300 questions- takes hours- and you only get 5 points. She is friendly.
Her online class consisted of test, quizzes, and practice. This class was an easy A, if you put in effort. The quizzes were harder, but the test were easy. She also gave 25 points extra credit if you did the assigned discussion posts.
Prof. Duos is a fine choice as far as online goes. She gives bonus study guides and homework that helps with your grade. She does not really engage with students, but most online teachers don't. Study, complete assignments on time, do all bonus, and use online resources. You should be able to pass.
I did her class online and id have to say it was the worst thing to ever do. She doesnt really give that much homework but, when you are taking her tests shes very unclear with directions and explains stuff after youve failed the quiz.
Im taking her right now for Spring 2021, 100% online and she is awful. Not only is she super passive aggressive and rude in her emails, she makes it to where she threatens her students that theyre cheating if they do good on her tests and says she'll report us to the nursing department. DO NOT TAKE, not worth it at all! Mean. Mean. MEAN!!!
4 tests and mastering microbiology assignments every week.
This is a very hard online class. It is a lot of information in a few tests. She uses lockdown browser & monitor for most tests. She does allow 2 page cheat sheet or notes for tests, just no electronics. There are only power points posted, other information is from the textbook. There's no lecture videos. Must complete mastering quizzes 2x's/week.
This class was pretty difficult, but she was always willing to help as long as you reached out. Tests were challenging but manageable because she allowed us to use textbook. You have to study though or that textbook wont do you any good!!! Let me repeat: STUDY YOUR TAIL OFF!!!
I took this as a term class and 100% online and it was literally so easy! All quizes and exams are open book.
This class was okay but it is a lot of homework. I took it as a term 1 class so it would probably be easier as a full semester. Professor was easy to get in touch with, but the power points were not engaging so it was very hard to stay focused.
Professor Duos is the worst teach I have ever had. She posted our tests on Moodle, unmonitored, and blamed us for taking it unmonitored and stated she was going to report us to the Dean of Student for academic dishonesty. She is the worst professor ever. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME AND STRESS!!!!!!!!
Duos is a tough professor, but she is not as bad as some other reviews may imply. If you are a student who likes to be challenged, is well disciplined, and has good time management, you will do good. Be prepared to read the ENTIRE textbook and do adaptive homework's (easy). Establish a connection with her early on and maintain comm. to stand out.
I took this as an online class and it was just ok. The only grades are assignments, tests, and discussion boards. The assignments are 100+ questions and only worth 5 points. The tests are 5 questions but worth 10 points. She sends weekly reminders about due dates and is willing to help if you email her
She has weekly quizzes that were pretty challenging the first half of the semester. you have to use lockdown browser and she videos you. No lessons , Just strictly text book. only mid term and final 100 questions each . She lets you use your quizzes though and half the questions are the quiz questions, but doesn't give you a study guide.
Responds to emails rudely, but if you just do the weekly assignments and learn how to get the hang of Pearson, you will be fine
The class overall isn't bad, just be prepared to read the entire textbook. The classwork basically consists of 2 chapters per week alongside online assignments and forums. 21 Chapters, quizzes, and online assignments, 1 midterm, and 1 final exam. The exams are 100 questions and all quizzes and exams are webcam proctored, but they are open notes.
I thought medical micro was going to be the end of me going in. I was so nervous but she made it easy. I took it online and everything was well organized and well communicated with a weekly email so we wouldn't forget anything. It's all open book when you take it online. It's pretty hard, but there's no reason you won't do well if you work hard.
Very easy. Teach yourself the material and do weekly assignments. SmartBook assignment due every week that's focused on 1 chapter. After you complete about 3/4 chapters there's a test the following week through Lockdown Browser. Test answers are usually on quizlet & in the slideshows she gives. She will help if you email her. No overload of work.
1060- an assignment due every week that's around 200 questions and it's ridiculously hard for only 10 points. There's tests are really hard and open book but the book doesn't help. It's also lockdown browser and webcam. This class is almost impossible to pass. It would take you 3 weeks to do the weekly assignments if you don't cheat.
It was a connect-heavy course with few graded assignments outside of the tests. The exams are difficult and go beyond the smartbook lessons, but are open notes. I barely got an A, so be prepared to study.
This class has 21 5-point homework assignments and 4 forums worth 5 points each. The only tests are the midterm and final. She allows you to use the textbook. Following the learning objectives that she gives you makes it easier to find & study what you need to know in the book for the exams. Stay on top of things & you'll be fine.
Overall, professor Duos was a great professor. Do not let her reviews fool you! I was struggling at the beginning of the semester and had a meeting with her and she made it clear on everything I needed to work on. If you don't put the work in for this class you won't pass. Just because it's online does not mean it's breezy. She is strict on dates!
The work was so incredibly hard and so long for very few points. It was offal. No lectures, just connect. Made no sense.
Tough class, but grading structure is very clear!
I don't think she was necessarily a bad professor, it's just information overload and your grade literally depends on the midterm and final and thats it. There was no way I would pass this class with a decent grade and also maintain a good GPA at the same time. I'd highly recommend taking someone else if you don't have time to only focus on this.
Took this professor before and had to take again because this was the only online bio class. Don't think you're gonna take this class and get higher than a C. Try your hardest and you'll get a 70 hopefully. The assignments are 200+ questions a week for 10 points. There's 3 discussion boards a semester worth 5 pts each. Exams are impossible to pass.
