What an amazing professor! I really learned a lot in this course. Prior to this course I didn't realize how important nutrition is and how there is so much more to it than things we hear. I would definitely recommend prof Kugler. It also helps she's easy on the eyes.
Great teacher! I could tell this might have been her first semester teaching but that's what made her so great! Enthusiastic, eager to help, and so nice about reminding the class about deadlines. Can't say enough good things about the class and the professor. There are several assignments due during the week but all are very interesting&worth it!
Kugler is awesome & truly cares for your success in her class! However Don;t underestimate her or the fact that her class is online. There assignments & quizzes due weekly. On top of that she assigns projects & other assignments. She grades easy & the class is out of 900 pts so you can definitely get an A, but just make sure do everything.
Prof K. is cool! She really cares about her students and is very on top of replying to emails asap. There's weekly online quizzes but they're easy bc there's no limit on attempts. There are 3 major projects and as long as you go to review sessions for exams, you'll pass for sure! Take her if you can!
There are weekly quizzes, weekly discussions, three exams, a project that consists of about 10 assignments, and 2 additional assignments. Straightforward assignments = easy A. I loved that she emailed the class weekly to let us know what is due that week because it makes keeping up with an online class much easier! Recommended!
Prof. K is wonderful!!! Her class consists of weekly discussions, quizzes, and a few exams. She is passionate about what she teaches and the information you learn is something you will take with you the rest of your life. Many classes we take feel like a waste of time, but not hers!!! Take her if you get the chance!!
Really good teacher.Class consists of 3 midterms 1 final. online unlimited quizzes. 2-3 projects and lots of e.c. opportunities. attendance itsnt mandatory but she does random attendance points. Easy A class. shes passionate and helpful. the studyguides are exactly what youll see on the tests. TAKE HER if Possible!
Weekly quizzes and discussion posts. 3 exams. Diet analysis project (10 parts) - very easy class overall. Have to buy Mindtap in order to do project. Professor replies to emails quick and is very helpful. You can do all work at once if you want to, do at your own pace. EASY A TAKE HER!!
She Is an awesome teacher. this class is not very hard if you do the study guides. She has online quizzes 3 midterms and a final. Her lectures can sometimes be boring but they go fast. She periodically takes attendance and doesn't announce when she will do it. I highly recommend her i thought this class would be hard but it wasn't that hard.
Prof. K is awesome!! Her assignments are very relevant and practical. She gives lot of extra credit and is by far one of the best professors I've ever had. She is very inspirational and you can tell she's very passionate about nutrition. This class has changed my lifestyle and I won't forget what I've learned, unlike so many classes we take.
Phenomenal professor. She really loves the subject she teaches so it just flows through her in a very simple if you understand what I mean. I got a D on my first TWO exams but through the extra credit and getting a B on the 3rd exam and an A on final I received an A in class. SO TAKE THIS TEACHER SHE IS AWESOME AND SWEET!!!!!!!
MAKE SURE YOU ATTEND CLASS bcuz she does take attendance and those small points can boost grades. pay attention in class and read the book. Study to guide and do well on projects. it's not hard at all to get an A if you put in some effort.
Prof. A is super chill. Her assignments and lectures relate to us and real life which makes them a lot more interesting. She also gives a good amount of ex credit, especially if you go to class. She does review sessions for exams, and the study guide is pretty much the exam. Overall, really clear on what she wants and easy A. Take her if you can!
Great professor, I took the online course and she made it simple. You have a weekly chapter, quiz, discussion, and response posts. There are a few assignments that aren't hard and 3 exams. No papers and she grades very quickly. She sent us weekly reminders, she scheduled the assignments at the beginning of the course. I would take this class again.
Online class is very easy! The majority of this class is made up of weekly discussion posts. (You post one response to her question and respond back to another classmate's post.) Online is very helpful for those who don't have time to attend the class but have the time to at least read and discuss weekly, which helps you learn and expand your mind.
Initially, when I took Professor A's class I wasn't so interested in learning about nutrition. Then this class became really interesting and the assignments aren't lame. The classwork is medium in terms of amount of time to complete. Make sure to turn everything in on time. Take advantage of the extra credit assignments. She's really nice!
Very easy class if you attend lecture and participate. Tons of opportunity for extra credit, you do not have to buy the book since most exam questions are right off the power points. 60% of final is from last 3 midterms that she lets you see the answers to (during office hours at end of semester). Quizzes have unlimited attempts online.
Wonderful professor! Really strives to help you learn nutrition so it will benefit you in the long run. She relates lectures and class topics to real life examples to make things a lot more interesting. 3 exams, 1 final, 1 project and a couple assignments. Go to class for ex credit. If you need help, go to office hours. She is very helpful!
Very easy as long as you go to class regularlymake a point of actually DOING the assignments, time consuming but she mostly just grades on completion for the most part. Most extra credit I've seen offered in a college class. Getting a B only because I didn't read whatsoever so I did poorly on testsskipped class a few times when we had quizzes.
First day of lecture was long. I really enjoyed how I can use the information from this class and apply it to my real life. It's a great course and the teacher is a sweet heart. Participate in class, visit her office hours, and do your work and you'll be successful in this class. Btw she looks somewhat like Iggy azalea with her hair straight!
Professor A is the best. As long as you put in effort, you'll do well. Even if you mess-up, there are a lot of extra credit opportunities. However, these opportunities usually occur during class, so attend class. Thankfully, lectures are interesting, so you won't fall asleep. Assignments are mostly graded based on completion. Textbook not needed.
Online class had weekly chapter, quiz, discussion, and response posts. There were too many assignments that were sometimes due as other assignments. You really have to spend a few hours weekly on her course because she had specific requirements for the posts. Would not take again as she had too many assignments compared to physical classes.
She's great! Attendance isn't required, but she does have pop quizzes, so you'll need to come to class to get the most points, and I do recommend doing so. The material is clear cut; if it isn't, she'll explain it. She communicates really well, sends out reminder emails for the online quizzeshwexams, answers questions, and grades promptly.
Great Prof and class was interesting super educational
The assignments are very thorough but not difficult. It does take a lot of time and energy to complete assignments but they are very beneficial. She does offer extra credit and is very helpful. Overall the class was great and straightforward.
She teaches straight from the book and then adds her own feedback to help everyone understand. Overall helps you when it comes down to it. Assignments overall are clear cut and easy. She will tell you before hand what is due and what is important so show up and pay attention to what she says. Extremely helpful and wants all her students to pass.
Mrs. A is a phenomenal professor! Whenever you need help just ask, and she'll make the time. She incorporates a lot of personal experience into her lectures to make it real. She helped me with meal planning and it was so motivating I'm considering changing my major! Barley used the book. She really cares and it's hard to find a professor like that.
There are discussion posts (which got really annoying to do twice every week), a quiz every Sun., 2 assignments, a 10 part project, 2 exams and a final. She's a tough grader and will take off more points than needed for not being thorough, even if you think you are. Does a good job of reminding you what is due each week.
Took her course online, expect a lot of work. There are weekly discussion posts and quizzes, as well as a handful of assignments. Assignments were relatively easy and there were clear directions, if you do have questions just email her and she will get back to you usually within the next day.
For an online class, it was nice that Prof. A sent weekly reminders for assignments. Assignments were clear and simple and there's a discussionresponse post every week. Exams were quick and easy. Says that textbooks are mandatory but you can still pass the class without one. Took it as an extra class, but it was a great class and I learned a lot!
Everything you need is in her powerpoints. She gives a LOT of extra credit. Just participate and show up to class. Her lectures are interesting because she adds real life examples. If your struggling, email her or go to her office hours. She helps! She's sweet and really wants you to do well. If you need a GE, take this class and take her!
Prof. A is great. She loves her job, and clearly wants the best for her students. 3 exams and cumulative final that she gives extensive review sessions for. Very engaging projects that make you reevaluate your mindset about your food choices. I had the 3 hour class so the lectures can get a bit long, but her PP's are great. Would definitely re-take
Prof A was very clear about what she expects from every student and gave all of us ample opportunity to clarify anything with her if we had any questions. I unfortunately missed a few classes and this dropped my grade significantly because I was not prepared. I take full responsibility. I could have easily gotten an A if I tried harder.
Prof. A has got to be one of my favorite professors here at CSULB. Her powerpoints are all very clear and easy to understand, plus the book is not really necessary everything you need is on pp. She always gives feedback for everything and is very straight forward with everything. Definitely take her for nutrition if you want to learn and pass! :)
Don't bother buying or renting the textbook. I took her night class (once a week 3 hours but always got out early) and it was a total breeze. She basically gives you the test questions on review days, the biggest project I did in 2 hours, and I finished her final in 15 minutes flat. Ended with a 96% in the class. Btw she looks like Iggy azalea.
She's a really good teacher and it's an interesting class
This girl knows her stuff! I needed to fulfill my GE, science without a lab. Unlike other Nutrition courses with other teachers, which get way more into science, Prof A teaches what is really applicable to you. A GE I actually find to be useful in life!! Whaaa?? She is a very tough grader though, and you must follow the EXACT directions.
Take this class. It is very easy but you do need to go to the class. She will give out attendance point and a tons of extra credit opportunity.
Just take her... trust bro
Very helpful and understanding if in a tough situation. She is very approachable and just be up front with her and she will (most likely) help you out. Homework assignments aren't hard at all, they just take a little bit of time to finish. Gave some attendance quizzes, so it's a good idea to show up to class. Textbook very helpful but not needed
She makes it clear what she expects, there are a lot of projects and quizzes but they are all for your benefit as a student. She is willing to help as much as necessary and will reply to emails promptly.
I don't recommend it.
Prof. A is not only a great teacher but a genuine person. She really wants all her students to learn and do well in her class. She sends out regular emails to remind you of due dates. Gives a ton of extra credit and extensive reviews for exams. She's very clear about her expectations and grading criteria. Overall, straightforward and learned a lot.
Prof. Aschidamini is very clear about what is expected. Make sure to turn in everything on time, put in some effort and you'll do well. Responds to emails quickly. 3 exams, 1 final, 1 project and a lot of extra credit offered in class, so there's a benefit to going to class. Good class, good teacher. Take if need the GE.
Brooke is perfect !!! shes super cool and super chill. I took her once a week and it was a night class and didnt mind showing up at all! shes super sweet and gives tons of extra credit so if you dont do well, thats 100% all on you because she basically goes over the tests with you the meeting before the exam. Definitely take it for a GE with her!
Professor A. Is one of the best teachers I have ever had throughout my education experience in CSULB. She is so clear about the assignments and passionate about the material witch makes it easier to pay attention in class. As long as you pay attention in class and turn in your work on time you wont have an issue. She does not allow late work.
Ms. Brooke is a great professor. She is great at keeping the class engaged and is an amazing communicator. I am a senior and have taken dozens of classes at CSULB and I really enjoy Ms. Brooke's teaching style. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that is looking to learn about nutrition.
Brooke A. is an amazing professor! She is very kind and her lectures are not boring! I had a 3 hour classweek with her and I enjoyed every single lecture. She gives a lot of extra credit and you can take advantage of that. Do well on your exams and online quizzes and you can get an A! Be sure to attend classes for surprise ec attendance points too
Took her online class for GE. She is a great professor and is willing to help when necessary. She responds quickly to email, which I found really helpful for an online class. Weekly discussions are tiring sometimes, but she gives out lots of extra credits, and you will learn a lot.
GREAT PROFESSOR, REALLY HELPFUL AND GIVES A LOT OF EXTRA CREDIT. OVERALL GREAT CLASS
Prof. Brooke "Iggy" is awesome! She truly cares about her students. She's really good at explaining all of the material in a simple way. Make sure you attend class for easy points. The exam reviews help a TON! Exams are pretty easy and assignments aren't bad either. Lectures are entertaining and her energy level keeps you awake, esp in night class.
Brooke is awesome. My roommate took her last semester, too. She makes the lectures easy to understand and she adds humor to them in order to keep it interesting! She gives a lot of extra credit, so make sure you show up to class. She replies to emails very fast and sends out reminder emails about assignment due dates which are helpful. TAKE Iggy!
Brooke is awesome! You're lucky if you get her. Show up to class for extra credit and go to her exam reviews. Definitely one of the best profs I've had at CSULB. Just make sure you turn everything in on time and you're good to go.
Clear of whAt she expects and likes when people participate and questions. She answers all the question students have for her, personal or class questions..
She is super friendly and didn't make us by the book. There are online quizzes with unlimited tries, very few assignments, a couple in-class quizzes that are for attendance points, and only 4 exams in the entire class. She has study guides for every exam and she literally goes over the exam with you the class before the exam.
EASY A! STAY THE WHOLE TIME DURING CLASS, do the two long, tedious projects with a good amount of effort, stay for the "review sessions" because she READS OFF THE TEST QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS, check your email for reminders, don't be lazy. I actually learned a lot in this class because I wasn't stressing about if I was going to get my A in the class.
She's very understanding and everything is to the point. she does extra credit pop quizzes so make sure to go to them. so many opportuniities of ec. she tells you everything that will be on the test the class before the exam. shes really good looking and funny. shes super nice nd i would definitely take her class again.
This class is great. Lectures are clear and interesting and she doesn't waste time on things that aren't as important.
The class was very easy, but she still managed to make it interesting to learn about. She always asked the class if what she was doing helped, and she was open to any feedback that might help her improve. She was also very available for help with assignments and projects. Definitely take her class if you can, she's really great at what she does.
My favorite teacher this semester -super communicative when it comes to emails or asking questions in person. Would give quizzes for attendance (either lose points or get extra credit). Only held once a week so retaining information was difficult, but taught in a reinforcing manner. Exam review sessions were HELPFUL AF; gave you info you'd need.
Excellent professor. This is an easy A class if you are ready to do the work. Make sure you go to class because she always give pop up quizzes as extra credit. Don't procrastinate on the two main project for the semester, it is worth a lot of points. She literally tells you what's going to be on the exam and make sure you study it. She is cute too.
I love her!!! Her class was fun and you really learn a lot. She always sends reminder emails for due dates and her assignments are practical. She gives tons of extra credit opportunities! She's always willing to help or give you nutrition advice. It's such an easy A and I never used the book. I can't recommend her enough. TAKE HER!!!
Always happy to be in class. Very helpful and lets you know what is going to be on every exam and final. Study guides are clear. Make sure to go to class because there are pop up quizzes which count for attendance and some which are extra credit. Power points are too long but informative. The major project is time consuming but easy. Take her!!! :)
Super nice and helpful professor!!! She's very passionate about teaching and everything is straight forward. As long as you do the work, even though it gets tedious, you will get at least a B. The topics we learn are interesting and are applicable to our daily lives!! Amazing class!!!
She was great! She holds optional exam reviews but they are very helpful! She is very passionate about her job and I love that. Take her!
Brooke is absolutely amazing! I never missed class because I was always really excited and looked forward to it. Her study guides are perfect. I swear they're the stairway to heaven. If you look over the study guides a few times you should be set for a passing grade on the exams. Easy pass! TAKE HER CLASS! :)
Brooke sends out reminder emails for class assignments, and she always emails you back quick! I took her for the online nutrition class, and there were weekly quizzes, weekly discussion boards, a couple assignments, extra credit, 3 exams. I heard her on campus class is really good too, so you can't go wrong! Everything is in her powerpoint slides.
Just do the quizzes and discussion boards along with the project ahead of time. You get ahead in the class and can worry about one less thing each week. (Aka take the quizzes and do the initial discussion boards early) definitely have to do nothing to not pass
She sent us emails and updates on beachboard every week, reminding us with assignments and gave us plenty of information on how to make it work even for an online class. Tests were not that hard. Three extra credit assignments.
Brooke is amazing! She is so sweet and gives you all the information you need in order to pass her class. She is very clear on her expectations, 3 exams and 1 final and 3 "big projects", she makes the class really interesting. If you don't get an A you will easily get a B as long as you go to the review sessions and pay attention in class.
She is amazing and so helpful. Her lectures can be boring at some times but she is hot hahaha
Brooke is the nicest instructor ever! she gives you all the info you need in order to pass her class, she's crystal clear on what she expects. The work itself is not hard just tedious but as long as you follow instructions she will give you full points. It's not hard to get an A. Don't skip class either because attendance counts. Take her
Brooke is the best professor for NUTR132! She is very helpful, detailed, and made a 3 hour class seem go fairly quickly. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. If you go to class, or even if you don't(she puts her powerpoints on beachboard) you will get all the information you need for the exams. 3 major exams, couple of easy hw's, and plenty of extra credit offered
Brooke is by far the best professor for Nutrition 132. All of her study guides are questions on the test which makes it so much easier to study. She has beach board quizzes that have unlimited tries. Her exams are simple and quick to finish. I would love to take her again if I could.
She is super nice! She reminds you of every deadline because it was an online class. Follow her directions and don't half-ass it.(She follows the 500-word count for beachboard discussions) It's an easy A as long as you put in effort, overall easy class.
TAKE IT!! She gives you very VERY good hints on what the questions are in the upcoming exams. You have online quizzes (5 points each); however, you are given UNLIMITED tries. You have one major assignment called diet analysis. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. Youll need $75 for a program but you can split it w students in the class to make multiple profiles.
This online class was really simple and self explanatory. There is a discussion due once a week, initial post due on wednesday's and a response to someone else's on friday, and a quiz on sunday. She posts all assignments ahead so you can get ahead on everything. There is one project which is very simple. Take this class, its simple!
I took this professor after reading the great reviews. It is a very intense class you HAVE to read! The responses each week at minimum you have to write 500 words to receive full credit you need to write more and you also need citations for each response. She does make good agendas but you have to read everything carefully in to get full credit.
I really enjoyed this class. You actually learn a lot of nutrition and health information, and professor Aschidamini goes out of her way to remind us whats due weekly. This class was really simple and wasnt a ge that's just a waste of time.
Took this as an online class and it seriously could not have gone any smoother. All of the assignments directly relate to your life so you finish the class with a lot of knowledge that you can actually incorporate into your health. Very kind, very smart, passionate about what she does. Definitely recommend!!! Super easy A
I also don't feel as though this class was an easy A. There is a diet analysis project that is extremely tedious and time consuming which you have to BUY a $90 access code to do the assignment on some freaking website, as if college isn't already expensive. Discussions have to be 500 word MINIMUM & responses 300 word MINIMUM. A lot of time
This class sucks. Its a 100 level course but she assigns a ton of work. You must write a 500 word discussion every wednesday, then by Friday reply to someones discussion in 300 words. Then there are diet analysises There are other classes besides yours. I have other homework. This is ridiculous for a 100 level class. Its not an easy A.
500 word posts and 300 word responses aren't too bad when you have a lot of questions to answer, the diet analysis project isn't too bad, but i do not like the way she structures the class. part of the instructions are in the syllabus, the rest is in its own doc, agenda posted sunday then emailed the next day? really unclear grading material
Took this class online, and it was pretty easy. Weekly quizzes, discussion board, 3 exams and 1 diet analysis project. Follow her grading rubrics and directions, turn in work on time, and you'll get an A. She's fair and clear. The project is tedious but easy. Only reason you'd get less than an A or B is if you're lazy and don't read her directions.
Follow directions easy A. Make sure to turn in everything on time. She does not accept late work. Weekly quizzes, weekly discussion board, 1 Diet Analysis Project (tells you a lot about what you're eating) and 3 exams (no final). Class is out of 800 points so it's easy to get an A or B. Actually learned something from this class unlike other GEs.
If you're not an aspiring nutrition major, then this isn't the class for you. It's a lot of tedious homework, but grading structure is easy going. A lot of work for a 100 class and I'm not even a lazy student. Beware, non-nutrition majors. This just isn't a buffer class.
Easy class. Easy work, just complete the activities and diet analysis project and you're good. Three exams. No final. Weekly discussion board posts that are a bit annoying, but still easy. Make sure to turn in everything on time. She doesn't accept late work. Nice professor and passionate about being a dietitian.
diet analysis project was very time consuming but easy quizzes every week due Sunday midnight. Discussion post due Wed (500 words) response to someones due on FRI. (300 words) have to include outside resources! at first it was time consuming but you get the hang of it only 3 exams always reminded class when assignments were due
She is very strict about deadlines. I took this online because I have a very busy schedule and could not fit it in. You would think she could take that into consideration since I am sure I'm not the only one. Overall her assignments are easy, but time consuming. Her diet analysis projects can be a little confusing.
This class is relatively easy. She is firm on due dates. Does not accept late work unless emergency. Class is straight forward and grading rubrics are clear. Weekly quizzes and discussion boards, 3 exams (no final) and 1 diet analysis project. If you don't get an A or B it's because you didn't care. Turn in work on time and follow directions A.
Easy A or B class but definitely don't slack and turn in work on time. She sends out weekly reminder emails about due dates which is nice. Only 3 exams, no final. 1 diet project which takes a while but it's easy. Online quizzes and discussion boards each week. She's straightforward and fair. I recommend!
Even though this was an online class it wasn't that difficult. The professor already has everything setup. Pretty much, Wed. is a discussion due on the current chapter and Fri. is a response to one of your peers discussion. Quizzes are easy and so are the exams. Honestly, you won't need to read much if you're taking this class online. Easy A
Easy online class, just make sure you turn in everything on time. She does not take late work. Discussion board, quizzes, 3 exams and a diet project. As long as you do the work and turn it in you'll get an A/B in the class. Don't take if you aren't good with deadlines. Gives good feedback so you can do better on future assignments.
Her class is not that hard, but it is very very very time-consuming (I mean it). This is a 100 level course, but she gives out so much homework. Also, she does not give clear instructions on the projects, and she is not clear about what needs to be turned in. If you are non-nutrition major, then I would not recommend taking her.
Terrible! Does not deserve the 4.7 rating! This class is VERY tedious: 500 word discussion board posts and 300 word responses every week, which is too much to ask for in a 100 level class in my opinion. Took off 20% for submitting a worksheet without a different color font for answers, like come on, at least I did it! Pick a better professor!
I took the online class with Brooke and even though she is a tough grader, as long as you stay on top of the work and listen to the feedback she gives you, you should do fine! Weekly discussion posts and quizzes, both of which are EASY if you pay attention to the power point and skim the book. I recommend the online class, just don't miss deadlines
I took the online class and it was definitely a workload but thats expected for an online where you dont meet in person so you have to learn the material somehow. Weekly quizzes, 2 exams, 1 final, weekly discussion/response posts. It gets tedious especially when already having a heavy workload from other classes but its doable.
This class is supposed to be easy but this instructor made it super complex and the way she grades is really strict which is bs for students who want easy A/B. Def. not recommend taking this course.
It offers more work than a traditional face to face class. Although it is just a nutrition online class, it is extremely time consuming. She is not clear on her projects.
I never read the textbook but you do need it for the diet analysis project which has parts due every other week. Discussion post with a response and quiz. Just read the powerpoint before the discussion post and taking the exam and you're fine. Lots of work but it is self explanatory and fairly easy.
Lots of busy work meaning discussion posts every week and responses and quizzes but they're all fairly easy to do just a bit tedious. Brooke is a great teacher, though the class is completely online, she provides encouraging feedback and is always able to clarify anything if you need it. Just do the work and you'll pass.
Coursework is a weekly discussion post+response, weekly quiz, and three longer quizzes split throughout the semester. The Diet Analysis project is pretty easy Keep in contact with classmates. You can reach her by email, but her responses are unclear and don't really answer the question(s) being asked
Fairly easy class. Weekly dicussion posts/ responses, weekly quizzes, DA project which is also pretty easy but parts could be confusing. Strongly recommend having a group chat with classmates. 3 exams which are pretty easy. Reading is required for discussion posts/ quizzes but you could get away with not reading at all.
She is very organized and pretty concise. Classwork consists of 1 original discussion post (500 words) on that week's assigned reading and 1 reply (300 words) due by Friday of that same week. There are weekly quizzes on the assigned readings but they are REALLY easy if you take notes. There is one project the entire semester but it is really easy!
Does not help students at all. She either ignores your email or gives you responses that do not answer your question. All of the work is on your own, so if you need help, don't ask her she won't help you. Her instructions are vague, does not teach & her grading is harsh. She is also not very accommodation friendly for those with disabilities.
Wow was she a great professor. She provided great feedback. Homework was very straight forward. Though the homework and project was a bit of work, it really was pretty easy work.
I took this class during covid and enjoyed it, but the work is lengthy. Discussion posts due every Wed (at least 500 words and cited), 1 response every Fri (300 words and cite), quizzes due every Sun, 2 extra credit opportunities, a project that took up about half of the semester but spread out. I would take her class again though and recommend.
This class requires some effort, but is pretty easy to get an A. I recommend getting the 2nd textbook since the class seems to be based on it. She is pretty harsh when grading discussions so be sure to answer thoroughly. This class was online, so I did have to read quite a bit. She does respond to questions. Google and Quizlet help.
The Prof. was super nice and very respectful, but the class was definitely a bit more work than I expected. There are weekly discussion posts that have to be 500 words w/cited sources, and weekly quizzes as well. I always felt like I was wasting my time reading the PP provided because the quizzes would be talking about something completely dif.
Asynchronous (covid), weekly discussion boards 500 words due Wed, 300-word reply due Fri, and mc quizzes Sun. Super tedious and you HAVE to look at the powerpoints and read the textbook if you wanna do well imo. One big project that's pretty easy. Don't take this class if you don't want to read a lot (prof is basically nonexistent for this class).
Took this as an online class during covid. Professor is very responsive to email and questions. Make sure you pay attention to grading specifics/directions because she doesn't accept late work and you must follow all assignment directions. It's pretty easy. Just make sure you turn in everything on time. It's an easy A if you don't slack or lazy.
Too much work for a 132 class. Initial discussion post of 500 words with 3 sources. Reply to a classmate with 300 words and 2 sources. A nutrition project the first half of the semester every other Friday plus weekly quizzes due Sunday nights. I have taken upper division courses for my major and they don't require this much work. It was ridiculous.
Professor Aschidamini is a great teacher. Although her class work is a lot and time consuming the work is very understandable and easy to complete. This class does require a textbook and PowerPoints are given for work. Quizzes are for the most part very easy if you complete the work. She does take a while to respond back by email but she does reply
Professor provides great feedback on students' work. Her lecture slides are a great use for the course. She gives tons of work!!! Each discussion post must be a minimum of 500 words, APA style, and have two credible sources. Reply to a student with a minimum of 300 words. There is a quiz every Sunday. Her class is time-consuming.
Pretty easy async online class. There are weekly discussion boards and semi weekly diet analysis assignments which are time consuming but nothing too hard. Just make sure you stay on top of due dates and you will do fine. I forgot to take a midterm and got a 0 on it, but still ended up with a B in the class.
Not a hard class, just time consuming and kind of annoying. Discussion board posts each week, 500 words for first post and 300 words for response. They have to have citations and she always finds a way to knock off a point or two lol. Diet Analysis project that's not too hard. Easy enough asynch class if you stay on top of assignments
This class was a pretty good asynchronous class since you can go at your own pace each week. Discussion posts always take me around 2 hours to do but its not that bad. Reading the textbook is a must for discussions.
Do not take her asynchronous course. I am hearing she is good on maybe face-to-face, but she is awful. She does not respond to emails. She grades strict. She'll find any way to drop your grade. Instructions for every assignment are unclear. She acts as if the class is your entire life. There are 800 word essays each week plus a quiz and a project.
Graded things really randomly. Some assignments I got 100% for putting in little effort. Some she took off points for the smallest things, like being slightly under the required word count. Big project spaced throughout semester but was simple. Didn't respond to emails almost at all, though. Would recommend if you want an easy A in my opinion.
her class is fairly simple if you stay on top of assignments and make sure to read her syllabus. she is very clear about how she wants her assignments to be done! you have a weekly discussion posts, quizzes, and a project that runs for the first half of the semester, as well as 3 exams. pretty easy online class if you know how to manage your time!
I felt overwhelmed when I started this course. It seemed like a lot of work was needed to pass this class with a good grade, and it does require a lot of effort. I was going to drop the class, but I managed to push through and get an A. Work consists of weekly quizzes, weekly discussion boards, 3 exams, and a semesterly long diet analysis project.
Really liked how this class was layed out. All assignments were very easy to understand. It seems like a lot at first, but once you get the hang of the weekly assignments they can be completed very quickly. It an asynchronous course and everything can be completed at your own pace. All the exams have study guides. Very interesting course and useful
Fully online and wasn't a difficult class but I found it difficult to communicate with the professor. We had a project throughout the semester which effected the end grade heavily which many students found confusing and when we had emailed her many times with questions or concerns she did not respond.
Pretty simple class. Make sure to follow directions especially on the discussion posts. It doesn't need to be super perfect just write an over the word requirement. If you have any questions don't message her on canvas she won't respond. Email her.
This online class can be manageable with consistent effort. Assignments are straightforward, but communication with the professor can be a challenge. Using unstuck AI alongside the textbook helps stay on top of things.
Very organized, instructions were clear. Ample time was given to complete assignments. Discussion posts/replies due every week, along with quizzes every week. Professor gave weekly bulletin posts and kept everything straight-foward. Reading textbook helps a lot and use slides as review.
This teacher was awful. Had her for an asynchronous class, she communicates horribly and is not understanding of students that need extra time or were unable to complete something due to factors they can't control & were sudden. Assignments were easy but you had a very short amount of time to complete. Would never take again.
i took introductory nutrition as an online class, and the workload was a little overwhelming at first but once I got in the groove of the class it was fine. weekly discussion boards and responses, quizzes, and a few exams. overall a pretty easy online GE
Worst professor I ever had. Super harsh grader and unclear instructions wouldn't recommend at all
Grades super hard for no reason and has a ton of busy work for a GE
Grades hard and takes off points on the littlest things. Lots of tedious writing/discussion board due every week with at least 3 sources needed and tons of projects. take another prof, nutrition shouldn't be talking this much time
Her class is pretty easy. For discussion you have to write 500+ words with three source and respond a classmate in 300+ words with three sources. Her quizzes and exams are easy.
Grading was unreasonable
Weekly discussion posts that are tedious at first but you get the hang of them. You have to do more than the minimum asked to get 100% credit on these. Weekly quizzes are easy as are tests. NOT accommodating to late-work. If you don't forget to turn anything in you'll be fine. Diet Analysis project can be interesting. Ok communication by professor
Way too much work for a 100 level class that pretty much everyone takes to fulfill a GE. Took up hours of my time that could have been spent on my major specific classes. Annoying weekly discussion posts that required at least three sources and specific word counts every single time. Quizzes and exams were manageable. Just too much to do overall.
I genuinely don't know how she has so many 5s, this professor was too hard on a 100 level class. too much work, and discussion boards are so tedious and specific, don't recommend. however the weekly quizzes and exams were not bad at all
