She's really understanding and knows what she's talking about.
I love Ms. Buckley!! She really knows what she's talking about and you can tell she really wants everyone to learn it. Never really much homework, but a lot of in class stuff, and I thought the tests were pretty simple. Overall...great teacher!!
She is the best math teacher I've ever had. She's really sweet and always makes sure everyone knows what she is talking about. There's homework about every other week, and it's only a few problems. She lets you have a formula sheet that can have anything but examples for exams. Her class is great, definitely take her!
She is by far the best math instructor I've ever had. She breaks everything down to a basic format and is always willing to assist those with difficulty in understanding the material. If you have to take a Stat or Math class as a requirement, this is the class to take.

Quite possibly one of the nicest people ever. Very helpful and let's you use all notes (except examples) on tests. Really easy, but you take a lot of notes.
Great Teacher- She writes everything out so there is no confussion, easy tests and quizzes as long as you take notes, get to drop some bad quizzes, really easy to understand and fun in class.
Honestly I am sure she is a good professor. She does know her stuff and tries hard. Unfortunately she tries TOO hard. Here's the thing. This is a 200 level course. It *should* not be this hard. It's a sad thing when giving an exam out of 30 people that take then only 3 or 4 actually are able to finish the midterm.
I would not have passed with any other teacher. She was AMAZING!
She is very nice and writes everything on the board and doesn't mind answering questions. Math is my worst subject and all going well with the final I will have a B. Math sucks but with her at least you have a chance of understanding it.
she is so awesome i loved her... dont buy the book!!! save some money... she also gives you study guides which is wat is exactly on the tests and quizzes!!! pay attention take notes and you will love her 2!!!
LOVE Brooke! She's down to earth and explains the material very clearly. Extremely approachable if you need help! (NICEST professor ever!) No need for the book - she gives all notes and examples in class. Practice problems get posted on blackboard. Show up, take notes, do the practice problems and you'll do fine in the class.
She is a great professor. If you go to class no need for the book. Tests are tough, but her practice tests and problems get you ready for the exams and quizzes. She is very approachable and eager to help you understand stats. I would take a class from her in the future if I could.
I am terrible at math and have being dropping every math class I took until I got to Brooke. She is understanding, caring, devoted, helpful. This is especially true if you are in need of any help.
Math is my BEST subject, and I hated this class. She puts on an act when she is in front of the students, and does not use blackboard. If you ask her about your grade she will tell you that you are doing fine, but never gives you an exact answer, and then grade time comes... People do not finish tests on time, because they are to long to finish
Easy professor. She helps you anytime you need it. I frequented her office and she was happy to help me on the assignments.
best teacher ever!!! no more to say
she is amazing!! will do anything and everything to help you all you have to do is ask. She is very clear and makes sure you understand, if you dont speak up and she wont move on until you have it! give practice problems which help big time when it comes to quiz and test time! if you have a chance to take her do not pass it up!!
Brooke is one the best professors I've had. Everything you write down, she writes on the board so there is no confusion there! I highly suggest taking her if you are'nt math savvy!
Approachable and helpful. Hard subject but fair grading system and always willing to work with you if you are having trouble.
This teacher is GREAT!! She is sweet funny and explains everything!! You dont need to buy the textbook, you buy this $6 packet and you just fill in the info there! Its a really fun class! I highly recommend this teacher!! Time will fly by!
Brooke is by far my favorite professor on campus. You don't use the textbook, and you do not have any homework assignments. She is extremely helpful, approachable, and always available for outside help! Definitely take her for any math and/or statistics course!
prof buckley is one of the best in the math/stats department. If you have the opportunity to take a stats class with her, I would high recommend it.
She is a very helpful math professor. She will work with you if you are having issues with a certain problem. She has a very bubbly personality which lights up the classroom!
brooke is one of the best starts teachers out there. she writes all notes in order so there is no confusion.. she cares about that she is doing and her personality makes it easy to stay away in a very boring class. her test are long but if you do homework and the minitab assignments youll finish in time.
She's super nice, way helpful, will explain something to you time and time again until you get it. Attendance isn't required but if you want to have a chance in understanding it it's best you come to class. She makes her own notes so that way you only have to go over what she will actually test you on. I would recommend her for any math/stats class
She was very tough. Do not take her because she will not help you with harder problems that involve calculus. She says you should know that already instead of giving a quick review to jog your memory. She flirts with all the computer geeks and it is very annoying!
She was extremely helpful and gives us examples to work from i would recommend her to anyone. She explains everything as much as she can.
Brooke is a wonderful professor- very approachable very willing to help- In addition to office hours, she is on campus a majority of the day. She made a 2 hour 8 week class interesting and kept our attention for the entire class. She gives great, relevant, and easy to understand examples. Goes back and forth between examples and notes
She went straight in to everything with calculus without any type of review of it. We had an exam and she didn't give back any of our homework pertaining to that exam until the day of the exam. She said she was applying for tenure so she put that before getting our work and tests graded. Might be a good teacher but she wasn't for this class.
she is not good at all. i do not recommend her.
Prof. Buckley is great!!! She makes her own notes and explains things so well. Stats can get a little boring, but she makes it fun. She is also willing to help if you are struggling. She grades tests fairly and isnt't nit-picky. If you go to class and pay attention, you should have no problem. I definitely recommend her.
Terrible.. She is very involved in class but does not give homework or book work to help you prepare. Expects you to just learn on your own.
This class was ridiculous. You had class 3 times a week and then a LAB on Wed. before the actual lecture. The lab did not help at all. The homework made no sense and had nothing to do with the class work.
Boring, in an auditorium, comfy seats, dimmed lights so easy to fall asleep. MUST pay attention to do good, and I hate labs, but she isn't a bad teacher.
Class is very fast no time to understand. Lab is a waste of time. I was under the impression the lab was to help NOT. Stay away from her....
She does an excellent job on explaining the topics and examples. Class can get boring at times. But if you need a stat class I would defiantly take Brooke.
Excellent professor! I struggled in the class and the material isnt easy. The class was rough in a lecture hall setting, but she is an excellent individual teacher and was willing to meet for tutoring. She even worked around my busy work schedule to find a time to meet. If she sees the effort on your end, she'll help you out. She rocks!!
I ended up sucking in this class but that was my own fault. I also partially attribute it to the fact that my class was huge (140 people). She is a great teacher though and she ALWAYS took time to answer questions, even considering the overwhelming class size. I highly recommend you take her, especially if you can get in a smaller class of hers.
Very sweet professor. Always helps if you have questions. If don't study, you won't do well. Online homework often, but get as many tries as you need. Very great class, I recommend to anyone with very little knowledge about statistics.
Never responds to e-mails. if you need help youre better off going to her after class. She has a very whiny voice, and i personally find it VERY annoying. She also giggles a lot...
I have struggled with math my entire life, and she presents things in a way that makes it easy to understand without making you feel like a moron. You do have to work for your grade though. This class is not hard but its not easy either. Stay focused and you will do well. I recommend her over all of the other Stats Professors at NKU.
Professor Buckley is the sweetest woman I have ever met. Her lectures tend to be a bit on the boring side though, seeing as she needs to work through every step of every problem. Would recommend highly for those who struggle with math. If you are good at math you may get a bit annoyed at the thoroughness in which she works some of the problems.
She's a great teacher. She laughs at her own jokes a lot. Gives lots of opportunities to meet with her outside of class for help. She is always willing to explain and repeat if you have questions.
She puts her notes online and you just fill the blanks in class. She goes at a very slow pace so you have time to fill everything out. There is a lab once a week but it is not worth a credit hour, which made me mad. In lab you do a worksheet for correctness, but the lab instructor will always help. You have a homework assignment due once a week.
There are four tests so study or fail. Dont buy the book, its expensive, she doesnt use it, neither will you. Be in class for clicker questions. Overall good class until the cumulative final. Must memorize all equations, maybe 40, and know which equation goes to the problem. Great person and teacher just would never take the class again.
I took stats in high school and ended with a C. I took Buckley my first semester of college and had an A. If you go to class and do your homework it's easy to pass
I don't understand why her reviews are so good. I missed one class and when I returned, I asked if you put the notes on Blackboard and she just laughed at me and said, "umm no." It only got worse when she didn't put the answers to the study guide online. It would be kind of helpful and important to know if we knew we had the right answers. TERRIBLE
Hated her from the beginning. On her textbook requirements there was an expensive book I we had to buy. When I show up on the first day she tells us we don't have to have it and didn't know what I was talking about when I brought it up in front of the class. Very unprofessional and dresses like she rolled out of bed and put flip flops on.
Rough. Do not take.
She will not post notes online which is frustrating and she doesn't post the answers to the study guide online either. I would not recommend this person because she goes fast through packets and does not give you a chance to catch up once you fall behind. Take MAT 115 if you want a better grade and teacher. I am so glad that semester went fast.
If you take this class take her with the lab option. The lab is once a week before class but it saves your grade. She makes it a priority for you to understand the material.
Dr. Buckley presents statistics in a clear, engaging way. While if you skip class or are just terrible at stats in general, if you do the work and study you should be able to get an A or B. Great professor.
Frankly, Brooke Buckley knows what she is lecturing about! Statistics is like her second language. Stats is not the easiest subject to learn, but if you want a good proffesor to teach you how, and what to learn CHOOSE HER. This is a class that you have to pay attention in! Good luck :)
I would never put any of my friends through what I had to experience. Now that the semester is about over and it is clear I did not do well, I can say she was no help at all. As a professor, she should have seen how bad I was struggling and helped. A good professor that really cares will approach the student to fix the problem instead of ignoring.
she was a horrible teacher and refused to help me during her tutoring hours; on more than one occasion. the first incident she shut the door on me and the second she said life is rough and walked away to help another student that came in after me. I did nothing to this lady. We never even used the textbook. I had to drop her class.
Lab along with the actual lecture was a big help with this stats class
She doesnt give test makeups, even if you have a dr note. When you do labs & you ask for how to do the problems, she wont tell you. Her notes are sometimes diff than they are on the projector. Her videos where she posts questions in them are sometimes unclear. iMath is difficult to use because it doesnt tell you how you messed up. wont take again.
Did not explain her notes well and had most of the class confused throughout the semester. She will not put notes online or the answers to the study guides making it hard to study or catch up if you are sick. Also, it may actually be helpful to buy the text book because you will be teaching yourself how to do most of the work. Would not take again.
I was nervous going into stats but Prof. Buckley is pretty laid back and all you really have to do is print out the packets she tells you to, follow along in class, and those are your study guides for the exams. As long as you show up in class and try, she's willing to help you whenever you're stuck.
Packets were no help no matter how perfect your attendance was. I printed every packet and always attended class but this professor was always more worried about clicker questions and imath which was a bad website for homework. Overall, run, far, far away if you are trying to get through a stats class with a decent grade.
Brooke is sincerely one of the best stats faculty members. I really don't get it when anyone has anything bad to say about her. She gives great, clear explanations and will go back and reexplain as necessary. I have learned so much in her class and can't wait to take another class with her in the future.
I had to drop because this class was not a math class that I wanted to be a part of any longer. From the first day when she explained the syllabus, I knew this would be a confusing course. The packets on Blackboard had no value and her office hours were pointless because she would only help one student at a time and at one point closed her door.
You'll fail if you don't go to class. She goes off of note packets which are very helpful, but you HAVE to go to class to get the notes. Online homework is not that hard but is due every week. Exams are ok. She tries to relate the material in a way that's easy to understand. For someone that's horrible at math, I'm passing with her.
Dr. Buckley makes up all her own notes packets and is amazing at explaining things. When I decided to take this class I was extremely nervous about it, but with Dr. Buckley as my professor it turned out to be my favorite class.
I had no problems in this class, maybe the information was just easy for me, but I think DrBuckley gives really good explanations for the material, just go to class, take good notes, and its a breeze, also do the homework.
Where do I begin.. She did not do her job, simply made note packets and forced us to follow along. Went to her office hours and she wasn't even there. Came back the next day to find her having a pow wow with other professors, and did not seem like she wanted to stop what she was doing to help me. I just did horrible on the final exam, no help.
She's great. She gives you everything you need to pass. If you do the homework and pay attention in class getting an A is easy.
I would never recommend this professor to anyone, including my own worst enemy. she has favorites in the class and doesn't seem to care about anyone else. I failed the first test and she didn't take the time to try and help me understand the material better because quite frankly, she couldn't teach it. she didn't use the book either.
Always in her office ready to answer questions. Very prepared and organized lectures. Learned a lot and would take this professor again.
I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone. She is way to worried about getting all of the five thousand packets of notes covered within the semester to actually take the time and teach the class. She rants on and on about things that don't make sense to where it doesn't even seem as if she knows what she's actually talking about.
Dr. Buckley is the best stats professor I have ever had. Anyone who doesn't like her is not putting in the effort to truly learn the material. She's in her office all the time and will willingly help anyone who walks in. She is honestly one of the most positive and helpful people that I know, and this was the most enjoyable class I've ever been in.
Where do I begin with Brooke. She has these packets that you have to print off on your own which is incredibly frustrating and she only works off the packets. She needs to be using a book because students are very confused in her class but she doesn't listen when students tell her that. Overall, run, run far away from this course. not a good choice
Brooke Buckley is the best Stats professor out of all the other Stats professors. Make sure you proint out the note packets, because they help greatly. This is not a hard class if you put in the work. Homework every week. 4 test and 1 final.
can't teach stats. rough semester. do I need to say more? bye bye GPA.
LOL what a class. We had to make a study group to keep up with the class and teach ourselves the entire semester. now that it is over, we all became friends and thank God that this class is over and that we got by with a C.
I had to drop after just a few class periods because I could clearly see she wasn't the right professor to teach me stats. I am horrible at math and was told she was one of the best in this subject but she went way too fast for my pace, forcing me to drop and then contact my advisor, questioning why she is being promoted as a good professor.
She always responds to all emails within a few hours and they are always helpful. I would use the time after class and in lab to ask her any questions because those are helpful personally. She does go a tad bit fast, but she also does multiple examples of each one so you really just have to pay attention and do the work she gives to pass.
I really dislike stats and all mathematics but Dr. Buckley is awesome. She has been super helpful so far in the semester. Put in the work, go to stat lab for tutoring, to her office hours, email her, and print out ALL of the packets you should pass with a C+ or B. She has been a life saver and so patient with me. (I totally bawled in her office) :P
Dr. Buckley is such an amazing professor. Although lots of notes are taken, she sends out guided notes for the class to follow along with and fill in the answers. She is always willing to help, especially during office hours. As long as you take the notes, and do the homework, you are guaranteed at least a B.
what a joke of a class. Horrible professor with little knowledge of what she is doing if you linger away from her note packets. Note packets are just her lazy way of getting out of doing more work. She kicks people out of her office if she is "busy" when she really isnt doing but play on her phone.
If you don't watch the videos and do iMath, you won't pass. Attendance is mandatory but mainly during labs since thats when she gives the exams every two weeks. good luck to say the least.
The class was very easy in my opinion. As long as you do the homework on iMath and do the exam reviews, you should get an easy A. The exam reviews are almost the exact same as the exams she gives which is very helpful. Dr. Buckley is a great professor as long as you respect her and don't be rude (don't leave early, stay off phones, etc.)
I had to spend another semester in college because of her lack of knowledge and willing to help me out outside of class. As someone who is bad at math, I was recommended to take her class as it was easy to follow. When I started to feel confused, I tried repeatedly to talk to her during office hours. She was never willing to help. Thanks a lot.
The exams were too hard
One of the best Math & Stats profs at NKU! She was always willing to help if we had a question and when we changed it to online she put a lot of effort to record a video lesson each day which was very helpful and engaging.
I had Dr. Buckley for STA 394, and it was a great experience. I truly enjoyed the lectures, very cool and applicable class. Dr. Buckley is also very accessible outside of class, she is very nice, and you can tell she cares. With that being said, she expects a lot, and her grading reflects that.
She does give extra credit points on exams. She is really nice and although it was a big classroom size, she still wants to help you. At times the exams got to me because I felt like everything was a bit rushed, but multiple tests are probably better than 2 big tests. Do the HW! Make sure to print out the notes and show up to class!!!
Dr. Buckley is by far one of the best professors I have ever had. If you show up to class, print notes, do the homework, and exam reviews, you will pass. The exam reviews and homework is recycled tests so by doing them, you have a good idea of what to expect on the tests. She also is super helpful outside of class.
Professor Buckley is such a great educator. I had a big classroom size, yet she still made it a priority to take to everyone's needs. The material can be difficult, and studying is highly recommended! However, if you print off her notes, pay attention to lecture, and do the homework, you will be in great shape!
-Absolutely AMAZING!! -homework is easy 3 tries on every question & doesn't take long -gives lots of partial credit on tests if you're wrong -has review guides for every test and you get extra credit for doing them -has guided notes print them out and you will learn -uploads lectures easy to review -just do reviews you'll do well
