She is an awesome instructor. Very supportive, if not sure about anything just ask her. Know your vocabulary and you should be fine when it comes to tests!
Very Fun, lovely teacher. Know and understand the vocab, thats what the test consists of.
I had Brooke for marriages and families and she is one of the best teachers I have ever had! She is fun and friendly and she is great about presenting the material! Especially if your a girl this class is empowering!!
She is probaly the coolest teacher around. Makes class a fun atmosphere and she is extremely helpful.
She was a great teacher and I will be takin her intro to soc. class next fall. she is a very chill and interesting teacher. she keeps the class entertaining and if you end up with her as a teacher you'll def. have a great time.
ONE OF THE BEST TEACHERS I HAVE EVER HAD AT NORMANDALE. THIS IS A GREAT CLASS FOR A STUDENT WITH A BUSY SCHEADUAL BECAUSE SHE IS SOOOO HELPFULL AND WANTS EVERY TO GET AN A
Is extremely helpful and is one of the most kind and helpful teacchers at Normandale. She is incredibly clear and makes learning her material she teaches exciting and interesting!
Great techer taking her intro class next semester
Easy enough class. And she is nice- oddly perky for having a 7am class. The class it self is extremely boring. She reads off the screen from her notes. Only class that semester that I didn't enjoy.
Incredible teacher! She's personal, helpful, clear and has many different teahcing styles to ensure everyone understands the lesson. If you take the time to go to class and put a little into the informal class discussions, you're set!
This is the first college professor I actually liked!! She is amazing! She actually helps you and makes it clear if you attend classes and are confused! I LOVED HER!!! Seriously, it made me want to sign up for all her classes! Her tests are hard, and she likes them that way..but she's a great teacher!
She is suer nice and laid back. and younger.
AMAZING teacher! Extremely helpful. going to class helps so much. She basically gives you answers in class. Tests are take home. Lots of in class participation points. She is a very fair teacher. Very open minded. Big class project at the end of the semester. HIGHLY RECOMMEND her for a teacher.
Brooke is a wonderful teacher and understand that life does happen. Willing to work with you. Provides clear concise information and ensures that you are able to apply your knowledge. Tests are thought provoking, but all take home. take any class you can with Brooke!
WOW. This teacher is amazing, she is very helpful, she prints out chapter modules and hands them out for every chapter! very nice, cheerful, her lectures can pull in even the worst students! overall an excellent teacher who is easily accessible at her office and thru e-mail. Very easy class! Attendance is not mandatory, you gotta love that!
She's super friendly and nice, but something about her teaching style gets to me. I learn more from reading the text on my own than I do from her teaching. Nevertheless, she still is a great teacher. Tests are relatively hard, and lots of vocab to remember. She puts EVERYTHING on d2l, which is great! As long as you study, you will do fine!
If you don't agree with her, she'll call you out for it. Very hard grader. Has a very black/white view of the world. Although, her perkiness will keep you awake. I was never bored in her class.
not a easy grader but nice. she always makes faces too...kinda annoying/funny
Great teacher! Very knowledgeable and easy to talk to! Fun and perky, never boring. Had a great time in both of her classes.
Brooke was an Amazing Teacher. She responded to any question very quickly either by email or phone and made a point to be in her office for her students if they need Help. TOTALLY Recommend Her! I NEED So MUCH!
Brooke was an Amazing Teacher. She responded to any question very quickly either by email or phone and made a point to be in her office for her students if they need Help. TOTALLY Recommend Her! I LEARNED So MUCH!
I liked her a lot! She was very clear on what she expected on assignments, understanding, a fair grader, upbeat and perky. Kind of a nutball. She was very willing to help her students. There was a huge paper at the end, but she works you through it and if you keep up with the timeline, it's not that hard. I would definitely take her again.
This teacher was terible. She does not grade her tests fairly. There was MANY incidents where I put the exact same answer on a test as she had on the board and I did not recieve full points. When asked about issues such as this, she would not clairify what she wanted. Class average on most tests was failing.
Nice person but bad teacher. Not fair when grading tests at all. It is impossible to pass a test when you put the right answer but she marks it wrong. Which is what she tends to do alot. Keeps up with her email and website regularly. Nice lady but unfair class due to her grading.
best teacher ive ever had. i took every class she offered because i liked her so much.
loved this teacher, she was helpful, interactive, dedicated and mostly wants her students to excel in life. would recommend her to everyone taking a soc. class
WORST TEACHER EVER!!!!! Her weekly discussions and quizzes are extremely easy. Her tests though a ridiculous. Her own questions and answers do not meet up. She doesnt know how to write questions for her own exams! She doesnt tell you why your answer is even wrong. She will leave no comments say Excellent and you still do not get over 23/25.
Good professor. This class is very into politics. She is liberal & isn't afraid to show it. She says some really ignorant things. Overall the class is pretty easy. There are 3 exams but you only have to do 2. There is a final project with a partner but it was really fun. There are also in class participation & weekly summary points.
I did not like this class at all!!! avoid if can
Pretty easy class, she is not afraid to push her views. she has 3 exams but only 2 count. one group project very easy and easy extra credit. There is some homework but its also pretty easy
One of the best teachers i've had. She keeps class interesting. Only 3 exams, but only the top 2 count. No mandatory attendance. Easy homework and quizzes.
Great teacher. 3 exams, only top 2 count. No final exam. Homework assignments fairly easy. You can miss two class dates w/o it affecting your grade. Easy grader. Would definitely take a class with Brooke again!
Really interesting class. She definitely loves what she teaches and regular attendance is mandatory but she gives you plenty of chances to improve your grade
Nice prof; her classes are fun and she's always willing to help outside of class. Can be a bit unclear about assignments but willing to work with you if you contact her about grades. One group project and weekly reflections, with large final project/presentation. Weekly reading assignments & 60/90 hours of required service learning for 2/3 credits.
BEST TEACHER EVER! We didn't even take tests in class and I still learned a ton!! We had easy take home tests, and EVERY single class we got candy! The essays where kinda hard but the tests and homework were easy!!!! And she actually cares about you as a person. Very great, amazing teacher!!
The most unfair grading I have ever seen. I would have the same answer as others on tests, yet I would receive less points than this other person. Just overall an awful teacher.
Marxist, feminist. Horrible and unfair grader. Class is easy enough if you do the work. Teacher is CRAZY. If two people have the same answer, she will give one less points. Nice person, unfair teacher.
She is an amazing teacher. She does not gives you her opinion about how things should be but she tells how it is. She is a Marxist and a feminist but I don't see anything wrong with that. Her class explained with detail both movements and it all makes sense. Amazing professor.
She made cultural diversity a relatively interesting class. Essay exams can be tough but she gave plenty of opportunities for people to get an A. She gives in-class participation points which end up being like 15% of your grade which is nice. I would recommend her as a teacher in general.
AWESOME teacher!!!!! She gives so many opportunities to get an A in her class and is so funny and nice! I wasn't excited going into it but now i want to take every class she teaches
Brooke is extremely knowledgeable about the subject and is a very understanding teacher. She gives you multiple ways to do well in the class including an extra credit opportunity. Her essay exams are hard, but if you devote enough time to them, you will do well. She is always willing to answer questions and is very helpful.
AWESOME PROFESSOR! i love hearing about her personal stories, because she is so interesting (in a good way). she gives you SO many opportunities to get an A. and offers so many slides. TAKE A CLASS WITH HER, you will NOT regret it! plus she swears, it's awesome ;)
Brooke is amazing!!! She made class really interesting and easy. There was a lot of fun things she had planned for class. I met my boyfriiend of over a year in this class; we both only took this class because we knew she was a great teacher from previous classes (:
1.) I learned A lot 2.) Easy A 3.) Fun.
Brooke is amazing. She is very helpful, and she sets you up to succeed! As long as you try in her class you should do fine. Her lectures are interesting and fun, and she really helps you understand through her experiences. She gives extra credit and test options, it's great!
Brooke is very kind and understanding and like everyone else says she wants everyone to succeed with an A. As long as you put effort into the classwork and homework, she's willing to help you get a better grades to best grades in this class and I'm sure other of her classes too, I will be taking Soc 1103 with her and looking forward to it
She is such a great teacher! She is very laid back and easy going which makes talking to her very easy. She is always willing to help you either before class or in her office. She definitely keeps things interesting and makes her expectations clgood enough which is realear.
Great teacher, she loves what she does. Be willing to read, class is not maratory but worth going to lectures are helpful. Assignments are relevant. Keep track of when things are due. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Group presentation is a waste of class time - not testable material. Tests are vocab, lecture, reading, & book.
She was an outstanding professor! She was open to all different kinds of people and extended the deadline for our big capstone project. This class was extremely interesting! TAKE IT :)
Brook is the most organized professor at Normandale, in a good way. She makes the class extremely possible to get an A if youdo the work and hand it in on time. There is a fair amount of work for her class, but interesting and Brook makes it fun!
Very good profressor, lots of writing but if you do the work, you get an A
Easy A. Teacher going for good reviews, doesn't challenge people at all!
Favorite prof! Interesting classes. Does a great job of creating a wonderful atmosphere in class. Take home essay exams. Lowest score is dropped. Very clear & organized on how she wants things done. She taught me how to write organized essays & summaries. Skills I've used in other classes. offers extra credit. Easy A, but expects lots/challengesU
I took the Modern US Society course in the summer so it was condensed and intense. But she teaches in a way that anyone can succeed. Lots of reading and lots of writing but well worth it. You WILL be a better writer of facts by the end of this class. Take home essay exams with good preview in class. If you're close-minded, you may struggle.
She is one the best professor at normandale. She's funny, nice, and straight forward. In her class, she makes sure that you will get a good grade only if you are a hard working student and care about what you learn. But she gives a lot of extra credits, so there's no reason why you can't get an A in her class. Her class you wont regret it.
I took love, sex and family and loved this class! Her tests are in the form of short essay-style questions. She tells you EXACTLY what she's looking for in the answers. I love to write and I found the information interesting so it was pretty easy. Much easier than having to study for a traditional test. She will accept a rough draft ahead of time.
Very approachable. She does take home essay exams and can be a tough grader. Tries to do what is best for the students. She has a family and is head of the Sociology department so can be slow on grading sometimes.
Brooke is great. Take home exams!! although they do require quite a bit of work. had to do a lot of work for this class compared to others but it was definitely worth it, i learned so much. Lots of reading from the textbook. But I found them very interesting and enjoyable. Class always flew by, GREAT PERSON +TEACHER. she cares a lot and it shows3
Though i had no interest in Love, Sex, and Family, Brooke is engaging and very helpful. She allows you to submit papers early to her where she will proof read it for you. If you take advantage of this you will get a good grade on the papers. She is very lenient with students and offers extra credit for you. I recommend taking a class with her.
Brooke is a GREAT teacher! She's really passionate about her work and clearly loves engaging with students. She loves to help and if you're struggling she'll help you through! Gives lots of great modern examples of different sociological concepts and makes it understandable from a students perspective.
Brooke is great! She is very friendly and always making the class laugh. For the first test she pretty much gave us the answers to help us understand her tests. She has easy extra credit. She can be awkward at times but it makes the class fun. Easy A!!!
Great teaching ethics that explain directions thoroughly and tells students what she is looking for on homework assignments and exams.
Great professor. Homework isn't tedious and mostly written response to articles. Papers are long and structured and she will review them for you if you ask her. Listen to how she tells you to format them. She is energetic and wants her students to succeed. Extra Credit is offered. Overall you learn quite a bit and it's an easy class. Both are wins.
Brooke is a really smart teacher, despite being a feminist. She's very clear and tries to drive home the concepts. If you're a memorizer, you'll fail. Her tests ask you to vaguely know the general ideas, and apply them in situations and case studies. She gives a lot of extra credit. I didn't have to do the last homework and test to get an A.
The way Brooke lectures for each Chapter to get us prepared for the test never connects to what we learn in class. She can be a hard grader if you don't explain it the way she wants to read her graded assignments. She gives out a lot of extra credit but can be hard to receive, and in class points so make sure you go to class.
Brook made the class fun and easy. For my first semester she made me work for it. I enjoyed her can do attitude and she helped a lot. Would recommend
Brooke's a fantastic lecturer; she's direct and to the point, and only sidetracks if it's relevant to the course material. She's incredibly respectful and mindful of the lives of students outside of school, but she won't cut you slack for just anything. Has clear guidelines on what she wants done for the class. Super liberal, shows in her lectures.
Brook cares about her students. Her lectures are phenomenal. There are many opportunities for extra credit.
Gives out extra credit worth half a letter grade. Because of that didn't have to take final content and theory exam.
Worse teacher ever. Her grading is confusing, and unfair. she'll "help you" with the essay questions, yet she'll tell you the answer is wrong once the work is handed in. AVOID !! if I would've known i would have taken someone else. Also, she is a strict grader. Based on the review before, I agree she does think she's an English professor.
She makes the class harder then it needs to be (for a general class). She doesn't give good feedback if you ask her for help on a test. For the first test, almost everyone got a C or lower. She is a democrat and she pushes her beliefs onto the class which is super annoying.
Two words: went downhill. I found her grading hard to understand and felt like she was asking for things for me to answer that weren't in the assignments. I accidentally turned in two assignments in document form and she would not give me credit for them even though I did it. She is difficult but clear on assignment due dates and will give you help
Brooke is a great teacher. She is very clear with her expectations for homework assignments, tests, and due dates. Yes, there is a decent amount of work for this class, but what do you expect? We are in college - this is how it is! I learned a lot from Brooke, and so many of the things we learned about are relevant and important to today.
Took her for an intro course in Sociology, and was pleasantly surprised by how good this class was. Quite a bit of work within the class, but many different types of assignments makes it easy to get the grade you desire. Respects conservative viewpoints, and is open for class discussions on sensitive topics. Very helpful towards her students.
Brooke is very clear from the beginning what her standards are. For each assignment she clearly explains what is expected. There is a well rounded amount of assignents, so if you are a bad test taker, you still have a good chance of getting a good grade.
Brooke was a fantastic instructor! She knew the material extremely well, and she was very clear on what she wanted from her students. The tests can be hard, but if you listen in class and understand the material, you will do just fine.
Brooke was amazing, I have taken her for multiple classes because I enjoyed her teaching style. She explains everything very clearly in her lectures and gives videos to explain things even better. She tries to always give real world examples or personal examples so you can get a feel for what she is talking about.
Brooke is incredibly kind and cares about her students. Although you're not technically graded on your attendance, a huge portion of your grade is made up of in-class assignments so you need to go in order to do well. Course material was fairly easy.
So kind and is so open to different learning styles and tries to help everyone pass.
Very good, she gives extra credit and drops lowest test score. She was a bit harsh on papers and I got Cs on pretty much all of them but still got an A in the class. She also has you do a presentation in front of the class with a group, so if thats not your thing just a heads up. Also she has in class assignments so dont skip class
Brooke has been one of my favorite professors. She is so knowledgable on each topic and provides good resources and relevant material on each topic. Brooke is also willing to help you if you come visit her during office hours. If you put in time and effort to do the work, you will pass the class without any problems.
Brooke was a good prof. She was clear with what she wanted and helped out a lot to make it easier for you to complete her assignments. She liked showing videos, and her assignments varried in styles, since she knows not everyone is good at writing papers. She gave students plenty of opprotunity to ask her for help when needed.
This is a general education class online, meaning the people that take this have their own lives and cannot make it to the school. Theres minimum of 3 assignments weekly, a discussion post and responses weekly, and the most toughest grading I have ever experienced. If the smallest thing does not go her way, you will fail. Also not considerate.
I loved Brooke! She is so sweet and quirky. She knows a lot about what she teaches and is very passionate about it. Go to class during test workshop weeks!!! She basically gives you all of the answers you need to know for the essays.
Brooke is so caring and wants you to succeed. Very organized/flexible. Very easy to get a good grade in this class as long as you do your work! She also made class fun, she has such a bubbly personality.
she is unorganized
She grades hard and barely helps you she will tell you something is right in class and when she hands it back it will be wrong. Worst professor I had!
Brooke teaches professionally i would say or fairly professionally. But there is a problem when it comes to her theory exams. She's not very clear one second she says the answers are in the book but they also aren't in the book? I never get full points on he theory exams because of this. it's a serious issue her main tests are fine though.
My first impression of Brooke, was that she was a fun, goofy teacher, and the class would just be a breeze. The amount of work wasn't what was difficult, it was how hard she pushed her political beliefs on the entire class. That is my biggest critique, but it affects a lot of assignments.
I absolutely adored Brooke. She has a very bubbly, vibrant personality. The only negative comments I have to say about her overall is that she's VERY unorganized. So be prepared for her to ask you whether you turned in an assignment or not even if you did and that she's very picky when it comes to how your answer questions.
Amazing professor. If you try, you will get an A. My class offered 4 tests and she dropped the lowest one. Homework every week, but does not take that long to complete. Really cares about her students doing well and specifically explains every assignment. Highly recommend!
I don't like her energetic vibrations. Personally, I found her a bit rude and she's not very clear with what is needed of you each week. And when she has graded my papers and wrote feedback I didn't understand it, I even went into office hours a few times to get clarity, it helped vaguely but was still left in the dark.
Phenomenal teacher! On take home exams she will tell you all the answers in class. She is very easy to get in contact with, and very clear with her feedback and grading. She does what she can to help students get a good grade, even dropping lowest scoring exams. In general, very friendly and vibrant and passionate. Expect to read textbook a lot
Honestly one of the worst teachers i've ever had. The class was a 3 credit one but the amount of work was as if it was a 4 credit class. She is a horrible grader, if you don't word it the way she would she'll automatically fail you. I would not recommend this professor.
I took this class because she had good reviews on here, but my experience in her class was different. This is a 3 credit class but she treats it like her class is the only class you're taking. She'll treat you like a little kid & if you don't answer things using the exact wording she wants you'll loose points. Overall just take it with someone else
A visual summary of this class can been seen in The Office (season 6, episode 12, intro). Besides that, the class itself was something I was looking forward to, however, it was the opposite of such. I have no problem typing papers, but you will only receive points if you write word-for-word what she writes. If you can look past all of this, its ok
Not sure why everyone is so upset about having to write what she says word for word. If anything, it makes the class easier and more manageable. She gives you the answers and helps you write the take home exams and papers. She was a great teacher, one of the best I've had, her class is easy as long as you follow instructions. She's nice and funny.
Perfectly good for who is facing hard in second language. Greatly good class where you can make a good grade if you keep track on her lectures. She honestly helpful professor if you work well on the lectures. Strongly recommend!
Get ready to do weekly homework assignments and at least 4 papers during the semester. Does have a large portion of extra credit in the end which helps a lot.
I strongly recommend Brooke as a professor. Before this class, I had no clue what sociology was about or if I would like it at all. Brooke helped me find a passion for sociology by making every class beneficial and worth while. She genuinely cares about all of her students and wants everyone to succeed.
I would not recommend taking this course, be prepared to drop any hobby's or interests you have outside of school, as the rigorous daily agenda WILL consume it. Sadly this was the biggest joke of a 3 credit course I have ever taken at any University, I have yet to meet anyone with a higher grade than myself, the sacrifice is simply not worth it.
Took an online class with her. She is nice but she gives a lot of homework. I had four classes and one is with her. Her class was the hardest for me. She is strict on grammar too. I dont know if Ill take her again.
Brooke is a very hard grader. The workload in this class is absolutely insane. You do assignments in order to help you on the exams but she does not give good feedback on what you did wrong. She expects her answer and no other answer but hers. She is very hard to please. I would recommend this class to friends but never this professor.
Lots of homework assignments a week. She is nice and gives good feedback on the zoom meetings.
She throws her political beliefs on to you like no other. The workload is absolutely insane. It was hard to form answers in this class because you had to make them how SHE would want them not what was necessarily right. There is much more that I could go on about but I do not have enough space. Do not recommend.
She is VERY lecture-heavy as she gives 4 assignments each week. Her discussion posts require a lot of material and she has the habit of giving you 0% on assignments even if you did it so you have to remind her that you completed them to get your grade back. Definitely take this class with another professor. WORST PROF EVER.
It was easy at first but then as the semester was going by, it got more and more difficult. She gives WAY too many assignments each week and she wasnt helpful at all when I reached out to help get my grade up. Definitely take this class with another professor because Brooke is not worth it.
She pushes her political views on everyone like no other, and 99% of the time she is wrong and is pushing a very divisive narrative. College professors should not be stating their political opinions like she does no matter what she theyre on, but she does and continues to get away with it. Workload is unnecessary and shes overall just terrible
I'll start with if you're taking a class that studies society it is bound to cross into politics. I thought a lot of what we covered and learned was not truly politically focused. I felt it to be more focused on the diversity we have within our society. There are a few assignments a week, but if you structure well you'll be fine. I would recommend.
Avoid this course with this professor! They're known for tough grading, heavy workload, and strict grammar focus. Expect 3+ weekly assignments, overwhelming reading, disorganized structure, minimal feedback, and grading errors. Many students had their worst professor experience with them.
Lots of textbook assignments throughout the course. She heavily brings in her political beliefs into the lectures she posts, does not provide both angles of an argument. She does have a great extra credit opportunity at the end, but who knows if that will go well with her heavy grammar and her political driven mindset. WOULD NOT recommend.
Brooke is a very tough grader. She was not very helpful throughout the course. Her reasoning for bad grading was not valid. Her D2L site was very hard to navigate. She assigned a LOT of work throughout the week (double the work I got from my other professors).
The first 2 weeks were a little hard for me but it was because I wasn't asking questions! She is an AMAZING professor and gives students so many opportunities to get a good grade. So much extra credit and drops some grades. The class is very organized and taught well.. lots of students stay after to just listen some more. 10/10 would recommend.
Too much work in the class. Not worth it if you're taking the class for fun. You do 4+ assignments a week & she's very picky with your responses to the questions. The feedback she gives on assignments is confusing because she'll mark your entire paper up with the same color and nit-pick your answers, so you don't know what you exactly got wrong.
her D2L was hard to navigate, too many unnecessary assignments for you to do, is very picky with grammar but makes a ton of grammatical errors on her assigned questions... i dislike the way she grades, the only good thing about her is that she doesn't require you to take your exams in person or use any browser lock.
She treats students like we are in middle school, but then gives us at least 2 reading assignments every week.
2 assignments & a discussion with 2 responses due each week besides when taking an exam. All the assignments are reading-based & the amount of questions can range from 5-40 if counting parts within a question. Although she drops some low scores, it doesn't make up for the way she grades. She has strict grammar criteria yet cannot meet it herself.
Brooke's a nice professor who teaches interesting material but assigns too much work. Her policies and grading are confusing and hard to keep track of, but offers lots of extra credit which helps. I'd be more engaged if the class were discussion-focused rather than assignment-focused. Wouldn't take again because I lost sleep over a 3-credit course.
Worst professor ever. She's very tough on spelling, wants every grammar point correct, only accepts her answers, and expects students to complete two reading assignments and a discussion every week. She doesn't respond to emails, I had to drop the class.
I have multiple degrees, and returned to school to get a few pre-reqs done before pursuing higher education. In the past 6 years, this is the most obnoxious class I've ever taken. Brooke speaks to her students as if we are 5 years old. Her D2L is so unorganized and makes no sense. assignments are wordy and overexplain things.
The way she organizes her D2L assignments is very confusing. I had friends who decided to drop the class. You waste an hour trying to find your homework assignment. She is also a super tough grader. She demands that students must meet her grammar criteria, but she always has mistakes in her assignments.
By far the most frustrating professor I've had so far! She demands perfection from us but she herself—makes more mistakes. Long story short, submitted my assignment under the wrong submission box, both were under the same week, and emailed her about it. She couldn't do anything about it. Submitted on time.
Expect a heavy workload with this professor - lots of readings, assignments, and strict grading. However, they provide ample opportunities for extra credit. Also, unstuck AI was a game-changer for my study prep in this class.
This woman haunts my dreams. I think of her in hatred at night. I love sociology and i have never hated a class more. I loved every single textbook and somehow hated the class. Do you know how hard you have to work to make me hate a pro-abolitionist book. HARD. I dropped the class to bring the light back to my life and all my other grades shot up.
The workload in this class is HEAVY along with stricter expectations, it keeps you on yours toes for sure. She is a very nice person but does expect a little much but also exams are soooo easy, do the work and the answers are there(open note!) so much room for missing assignments as well, lots of things dropped too.
She is a very good person and helps you a lot in her classes, which are also very easy to follow.
She talks to you like you're grade schoolers. It makes the class hard to enjoy. She explains sociological concepts like you're 5, and ends up not teaching the point of said construct... She is very friendly and open with the class, and gives good safety nets for assignments and exams... just.... why does she speak to adults like that?
The class involves a lot of work. The teacher gives many assignments and can be nice to talk to, but her grading is poor.
There is a lot of work in this course with many readings and frequent assignments, and the grading is strict. I often felt the expectations weren't clearly explained, and overall I didn't enjoy the class.
This professor is very frustrating. Her D2L is incredibly hard to navigate, and assignments aren't graded until the end of the semester, forcing students to scramble to redo them for points. She grades extremely strictly. Even small grammar errors and you will fail that assignments. The stress isn't worth it. Avoid this teacher if possible!
Brooke is an interesting person often times make connections to materials with her own life. Just attending her class is enough to understand the material. There are textbooks that you're going to read, and the assignments are graded by if you got it correct and grammar. Her exams are open note and textbook. Easiest class I've taken so far.
Her class is very VERY forgiving, so if you get a bad grade in this class only you are to blame really. She plays a good handful of videos that are related to the topics, but seem pretty informal like Buzzfeed. Easy class, but it doesn't seem like we talked about the material very critically. Random attendance points.
