This class was not easy by any means. You have to read AND go to class. Dr. Whisenhunt makes it an interesting class period though and she's closer to our age so she can relate better. Do the online quizzes even though they aren't mandatory, they are on the tests. And read, it helps!

I loved Dr. Whisenhunt! Even though class consists only of lectures, her stories are always interesting, as is the material. Tests are hard, and your grade consists only of 4 tests and a big paper, but in the end most people pulled through with at least a C, and A's are definitely possible.

First of all, there is a lot of lecture and a lot of studying. The tests are not easy at all, but they are passable if you study. She is closer to our age, which helps I think, and she has a sense of humor. Oh yeah, did I mention she is totally hot!

Easy class if you take the online quizes (they're the same as the exams) Sometimes the class lectures don't cover the stuff on the exam, so some reading is required. Whisenhunt gives some demonstrations that make the lectures interesting. Gives extra credit for perfect attendance, extra research credit,etc. don't take it @ 8am-you'll fall asleep!

Grade consists of only 4 tests and a paper, but don't let the paper scare you-it is broken up into short sections. Whisenhunt is energetic & has the best stories! You have to go to class and read, but you won't want to skip class once you get hooked! Take this class with her if you can. It was my favorite, plus I got all A's without TOO much work!

Abnormal psych...Brooke is a great and intersting teacher. Her tests can be hard. You MUST plan on reading the chapters and not missing class and you'll be fine. She is also always available to help you study before a test if you just ask. Great stories as well!! Definitely take her class!

Brooke is an amazing teacher! Do the online quizzes and you WILL make at least a B. She's fun and young and makes the class laugh. Attendance is not mandontory, but the lectures are fun.

Her test are difficult, but if you study the study guide you will do fine. Her powerpoint are very good notes, but you need to read the book to completely understand. Online quizzes( not required) help you prepare for exams. Half of her exams questions come from online quizzes. Fun instructor, keeps it interesting

She has great past clinical experience which helps you really understand the subject matter. She is fun and teaches class very well. If you just go to class and listen to lectures (which aren't bad at all) then you will do okay. There were people in class who didn't ever come and they complained ALL the time, their fault though.

The subject matter being difficult, the exams of course are to an extent. Study the book, don't be lazy. As for Dr. Whisenhunt personally, her smile, her eyes, her hair, the sweetness, the grace, the glow that is her every move in class. The feeling in ones chest as she talks, talks of anything! People she is a doll, a spring flower, true love?

She is a fun teacher. You DO have to read the book but come on people you are in college get use to it. She is fun and if you ask for help you got it. She has a lot of fun stories too :D

Dr. Whisenhunt is great! She really tries to get the class involved in discussions and relates discussions to the real world of psychology. Take good notes from the PPT's and read the chapters....what a concept...She tries to relate the tests to theories you learn in class, which really is helpful in understanding the illnesses discussed. Very help

Dr. Whisenhunt was an amazing teacher. She knows what she is talking about and is very good at getting her point across. She makes things very easy to understand. Her tests are half questions she makes up and half from online quizzes. She uses questions from them word for word. Plus, she has a great personality which is always nice.

This class is extremely boring. If you read the book and print out her powerpoints you could probably get away with not going to class. She just reads from her powerpoints anyway. DO TAKE THE ONLINE QUIZZES!! half of the exams are from these. They really help. She takes attendance when hardly anyone shows up so go when you really think its a waste.

She is a very good teacher. Not boring to listen to at all. The final is VERY important...it is worth 200pts out of a total of 550pts. It is possible to get an A just do all the extra credit and online quizzes (which make up 50% of each test)

Attendance isn't mandatory, but it definetely helps to go because she does a great job of explaining the material. Tests can be hard, but she takes half of the questions from online quizzes. She also allows you to get a total of 15 points extra credit. I would recommend this teacher.

Very HARD class. She started the class out by telling everyone the grade average is usually is 65%...uh ok. She is really nice though and knows what she is talking about. Tries to make discussions. All tests are 50/50...so half are her questions, and other half from online quizzes.

Pretty good professor. Her tests are pretty easy out of 50 questions 25 are from online quizzes so I suggest you take them!! She likes to use examples so make sure you actually understand the material! I would definitely suggest her!

Very good professor. She teaches well, holds interest during lectures, and is organized in her speaking. Her tests are a good balance: it's not hard to get an A, but you do actually learn.

She is an excellent professor. She's really funny and wants you to learn the information. A lot of students didn't do as well as they'd like in my class because their attendance was pretty poor and they never opened their text book. What do you expect? We are in college.

She offered plenty of extra credit opportunities and she gives you a site with online quizzes for each chapter and every test has almost exactly the same questions.

VERY interesting class. the tests aren't too hard if you study. the first test is the hardest. I made the mistake of not studying as hard for the first, which is why I received a B in the class. Be sure to do the book website quizzes. Thats where many of her questions come from!

Very good teacher. She doesn't hold your hand through the class (nor should she) but she's very nice & helpful if you just ask.

Dr.Whisenhunt is a good lecturer. She makes it fun and works the the tedious stuff in a humorous manor. She assigned alot of reading but she then lectured about everything in the reading next class so there was no use in reading. WORD OF CAUTION: She did say the class would change alot starting next semester. So beware of more work.

She is a very nice lady who makes class extremely fun. The blended section of the course was a lot of work and at times overbearing. Had something due almost every single day and the program had some issues that she was willing to work with. Good for someone majoring in PSY but just overwhelming for a gen ed. I'd recommend her but not the course.

Dr. Whisenhunt's class wasn't necessarily the easiest, but it was one of the more interesting ones. She clearly knows her stuff, and is super friendly towards everyone. A definite go-to for psych majors or just anyone else interested in abnormal.

This wasn't as easy of a class as expected. You have to really study for the tests. She lectures well and made class interesting. You'll need the book for the mypsychlab quizes. She also uses a clicker in class, which was new for me, but I found it to be an effective teaching method. I am glad I took her class.

There was hardly any coursework, other than what's required for GEP. She was very easy-going and had good group discussions. Some of the stuff we talked about in class got monotonous, but other than that, she's super sweet and friendly and I would recommend her.

Dr. Whisenhunt is a wonderful professor. She is very funny, using examples from her own clinical work, and bending over backward to help you. If you understand the book, you WILL do well. Going to class will most likely help you get a letter grade higher because you narrow down what to study. Take her if you can!

Dr. Whisenhunt was my favorite teacher this year. She is really enthusiastic about psychology and seems to love teaching the class. She was always willing to answer your questions even though she had so many students. I loved this class; it really stimulated my interest. You do have to study and read the material, but if you do you'll be fine.

This was my first big lecture hall class. Half of it is online, so you are responsible for your own learning. The lectures are helpful, but don't rely on them alone to learn the material. If you're willing to work, this class should be easy. If not, you're going to have a more difficult time.

I enjoyed the topics of Abnormal Psychology, so I did not mind the reading, however if it is not something you are particularly interested in, I do not think that it would be a good choice to take this course online. You read a chapter a week and have to do a lot of coursework associated with it.

I love Dr. Whisenhunt. If i could take her for every class I would. There is a lot of reading, but if you enjoy abnormal psychology you wont mind. Study the chapter guides. I had a couple times where i needed extensions and she genuinely extended assignments. This is why I love professors like her, truly understanding and caring.

You complete one chapter per week, which encompasses: 50 homework questions, 5 video quiz questions, and 25 exam questions. The answers to all of these questions are on Quizlet. I got essentially a 100% on these HW questions (large portion of grade). Final exam was cumulative & proctored. I failed the final; still got A in the class.

She's a great professor who is very knowledgeable on the subject. The assignments are pretty easy and the tests definitely require a good bit of studying on your part if you want to do well.

Super cool teacher. Her and her assistant are really chill and very understanding and helpful. I had a family trauma, and they were super kind and cool about it and really tried hard to help me do what i need done, not only in that class but my other classes as well.

She's really sweet. To do well in this class, you'll need to do the readings and take notes before the lecture. She offers extra credit so take advantage. She is really sweet and knows what she's talking about. Go to class for participation points (5 points per class). This isn't a hard class if you put in the work. The tests are general.

Loved her class! She's made me consider becoming a psychologist. Go to class, she gives great lectures to help understand complicated material. Recommend reading all chapters assigned, taking detailed notes, studying hard. Tests cover a lot of material, but are very easy if you complete online homework and take quality notes from book/lecture.

Despite the weekly MyPsychLab assignments, there is no homework. The MyPsychLab assignments are extremely easy but very time-consuming. The tests were hard for me. The lectures were fun and easy to follow though! I really enjoyed having Professor Whisenhunt!

I loved her! Her class was hard no doubt. I learned early on that reading the textbook and taking detailed notes helped alot. Her lectures are amazing and she keeps you engaged. She is very smart and knows what she is talking about. I recommend taking her class, the workload is manageable but just pay attention and study and you will be fine.

I love Dr. Whisenhunt! She is funny and definitely knows what she is talking about. You do have to do a lot of reading to actually do good on the tests but it is very possible to get an A. Make sure you're putting in an effort. Also was a blended class so we only met on Tuesdays!

This class is amazing. I took the blended version of this class, so I had to learn a lot of the material outside of class. She creates the lessons based off what students struggle on from the online assignments. If you come to class, you will get participation points! Overall, if you do the MyPsych quizzes and bonus, then you will pass with an A!!

Even though the class and tests are somewhat difficult she does a great job with lectures and is so much fun. There is one weekly assignment that is easy to do. Can receive up to 5% worth of extra credit. As long as you study the notes or book you will be fine.

Brooke Whisenhunt is one of my favorite professors! She makes lectures very interesting and is hilarious. The tests are the same across the department regardless of the teacher, but she prepares you for the tests. I highly recommend her, she was a blast to learn from.

Dr. Whisenhunt does such a great job at making psychology interesting. Usually big lecture classes are so difficult to follow along in, but she is great at appealing to all the different learning types. You have to study for tests, but it's not a class you'll be up all night studying for. Just pay attention in class. I never even read the book

Wisenhunt was a great professor! her lectures were easy to listen to. clicker questions were easy padding for grade as well as other aspects of the class. read the book and you'll do fine on the tests!

Psychology isn't very easy in general, but she did an awesome job at giving us information, we just had to put in a little work. clicker points every class, she's really funny and so nice

Whisenhunt is an excellent teacher. She makes psychology easy to understand and truly does everything she can to help her students succeed. Its really important to read the chapters though, if you don't do the work outside of class you probably wont pass, but that is just how the class is structured, and so it should be.

I absolutely love Dr. Whisenhunt! She is an amazing professor! My current section is a blended course. Attendance is mandatory to pass and this class requires a lot of studying/note-taking, but you usually only meet once a week on Tuesdays. It can be difficult or those who are not Psych majors, but she makes it very interesting for everyone!

My favorite professor I've ever had. Brooke is so funny and charismatic and you can tell she really cares about what she's teaching. Her lectures are interesting and her homework is useful and not just busy work. Each week you have a chapter review online from the textbook but they are very easy and really good studying materials.

Blended course, so you meet once a week so it's a good idea to go to class. Reading is also pretty important, because her tests are lengthy and cover stuff from the text. FAVORITE PROFESSOR!! She is such a sweet person and gives amazing lectures that help your understanding of the material with real life examples and activities. Tests are very book heavy, you do one chapter a week and a test after 3 chapters. Read the book, study the post tests, and attend lectures and you will be golden.

Dr. Whisenhunt is super sweet and very knowledgeable. I definitely had to work in her class; you can't just slough off and expect to pass. She really cares about her class for sure and wants you to succeed. Definitely not an easy class (unless you're a psych major) but she is definitely a good professor to take! Dr. Whisenhunt is my favorite professor. She uses real life examples from her job as a therapist to help students understand psychological concepts. She has an amazing mom personality and cares about her students greatly. Although, you MUST read the book. The tests are really easy if you read the book.

I absolutely LOVE her! She is one of my favorite professors and one the sweetest people I've ever met. I always left her classes feeling like I've learned something. The class overall is very challenging. It's also test heavy and structured around the book, so make sure to read each chapter and study! I ended up changing my major b/c of PSY 121! :)

Dr. Whisenhunt is one the sweetest and most caring professors you'll ever have! I highly recommend taking PSY121 with her. The course itself is rather difficult but it really helps to do the chapter readings before the lectures and stay on top of assignments. There are a lot of extra credit opportunities in this class but attendance in mandatory.

Makes lectures fun. She has a passion for psychology and makes it very clear what you need to study and do to receive a good grade. All of the online quizzes are on quizlet but you should actually know the information. With the extra credit and all of the online quizzes you can average a B on the exams and still get an A in the class.

You will most likely be put in a huge class for psychology. My class had 350 students in it, so we had several helpers for the teacher in the room so we could ask questions. Professor Whisenhunt is so nice and funny and easy to pay attention to. She doesn't take attendance, but she puts questions on the board and you have to answer them for points

I really enjoyed her. Always quick to respond to emails and answer questions when needed. Do all of the assignments and glance over the information for the final and you will get an A. The class material is also interesting!

She is the best professor I hav had in college so far. Very funny and engaging. She plans a lot of activities to help us understand the material. Prepares you for the exams very well. Textbook is a essential however, if you do not read it, you will not pass

Dr. Whisenhunt was great at working with us ULAs and the PSY 121 students throughout this crazy time. We had a lot of technical issues but she always got them figured out and helped us if we had any problems. One time I accidentally slept in and missed our Zoom class, but she was very understanding and helped me get caught up.

This class is primarily online, but it is technically a hybrid class. I attended all of the lectures, and while they were helpful, they are not necessary. Dr. Whisenhunt is very knowledgeable, and I found it super cool that she co-wrote the book that is used for the course. The book is online, and it is interactive, which is a great resource.

I took this class online, so I might have a different perspective, but she was a great teacher. Had everything released, and worked with me when I had a lot due for other classes. She had quite a few quizzes for each chapter, but super easy to do. Easy to follow, with a few discussion questions that took no time at all. She set me up for success.

Great professor. The online layout was very organized & easy to manage. Everything is provided early too so you can go at your own pace. Each chapter had a lecture quiz, that went along with a lecture video, and an exam. Lecture videos provided were very helpful & well taught. Overall the material is very interesting too.

Dr. Whisenhunt was a good professor, I just didn't like how there is little to none 1 on 1 time. Even with the ULA's it was like taking an online class and then coming to in person class to talk about what we already did.

There is a chapter to read every week that can be time consuming but that is the only assignment. She only holds class once a week. The test are a little harder and require study time but she requires a study session before each test that helps to know what to study for.

This professor wasn't able to teach all of the content of the chapter in one lecture so it felt like I was teaching myself the entire time. I would spend about 3-4 hours doing the chapters and homework before coming to class.

Professor Whisenhunt is the professor that I got to know the least well out of all my professors in the fall of 2022. She is very kind and tries to make the lectures interactive, but the class is all about reading the book. You need to read all of the chapters carefully if you want to get an A. She just guides you along and keeps you on track.

People who say she is a bad professor are because they don't try hard in her class and don't get good grades. Dr. Whisenhunt is a fair teacher that expects you to apply yourself and learn. If you do not keep up with the reading material and lectures, you will fall behind. While there is a lot of material to retain for this class, the structure of it makes sense and there is no busy work. Overall, I enjoyed this class.

LOVE Dr. Whisenhunt!!!! She is so funny and genuinely cares about you as an individual. As far as 424 goes, it is a decent amount of work but it is mostly crammed around exam times. If you plan things out nicely then it is super easy. I learned so much from this experience and wish I had time next year to do it again.
