To be honest my first day of class i found him slightly intimidating.. turns out hes one of my favorite prefessors. He was very helpful, he made sure each student understood the material. He just doesnt throw stuff up on the board n not explain it. also He has a sense of humor. Id recommend him to any one.

If you can attend class, do your HW, ask questions, then you will find that this guy knows how to teach. He made calc 1 easy for me.

AMAZING Prof! I had not taken a math course for 10+years(H.S), needless to say I was rusty at best. Day1 everything looked like mandarin, day2 I understood more, Day of the final: I passed gloriously! He wants you to pass, to succeed, and to love math. I don't love math but I DO love his method! Never had a math prof who made me enjoy #s like him!

we want to petition for him to teach 002. If id had Prof Abgarian in grade school, I NEVER would have struggled in math.clear,patient, encourages you to help those in your class. You dont use the textbook, but he provides you with such an understanding, you can go off and study on your own.HUGE confidence build. THIS is a true teacher.

He is a very good teacher. I heard calc 2 is the hardest calc. But Taking it with him made it the easiest calc. He's confident, he knows the material very well. And he wants you to pass, he wants you to succeed in your following classes. Please take him. You won't regret it.

Professor Abgarian is the best calculus teacher by far. I had to retake Calculus 1 more than once and he helped me go from a D to an A grade in calc. Very helpful and patient with students that struggle. TAKE HIS CLASS!

Professor Abgarian was definitely a hard but a really talented and smart teacher. Very friendly, nice, and easy teacher. Most of homework comes straight from his homework. All problems given on some of his tests all come from the hw he gives 3 days a week

Great professor. He informed the class he was leaving Nassau, or i absolutely would have taken another one of his classes. He was very straight forward and tried to make the material as easy to understand as possible. If anyone gives him a bad rating it is because they did not pay attention in class.

Took trig in high school, took it again with professor Abgarian and aced his class. He is the best teacher i had a NCC and if i could i would deffinatley take him again.

A great professor, really treats students like his children. BUT! , his classes I think are TOO easy. I wasn't super prepared for my next class, (Calc II) If you are going on to higher level math, you also need the rigor, not just understanding. Do problems he assigns, check them, and do ones not assigned and get help if you need it. Good luck!

He's a great math professor. Had him for algebra/trig. His tests aren't that bad, he makes sure the class is prepared for the exams. He's also not a tough grader and won't take off points for minor errors. Definitely a helpful teacher! recommend

I loved Professor Abgarian! He certainly was the best math instructor I've ever had. Differential Equations (Calc 4) is extremely tough. But, his way of explaining the material so clearly and tailoring it to our interests was incredible. Easily the best professor in the math department! Highly recommended 100%, even if you're not in calculus!

Just pay attention and look over the problems and you'll pass! Tests are the same questions as the homework. He really does want you to do well!

Prof. Abgarian is awesome. Tests were right from the stuff we did in class. As long as you study, do the HW and put in the effort you'll probably get an A. Would definitely take him again.

The bad boy of mathematics! Abgarian is the man! He made differential equations a piece of cake. His tests made you work, but if you study and do the homework you'll be golden. He gives his own notes to the class, which simplifies everything. Please take him, if you don't you'll regret it. He is always available for help or life advice, great guy!

Explained material clearly and encouraged students to ask questions. He cares and wants everyone to pass. Attendance and lateness impacts your grade so just show up and be on time. Tests were extremely similar to if not identical to the homework. If you do homework and pay attention it'll be an easy A . Great professor!

He knows Calc like I know sleep (very well). He was irritated that many of the kids didn't know algebra very well and he had to keep going back to things I learned in middle school, but if you're willing to put in the hours the tests are super fair. I slept through a test and he let me make it up because "I was honest about sleeping in".

He is such an amazing person to talk to and have a fun conversation with. i took math 118 which he normal doesnt teach but he explained everything so easily and would go step by step with problems so students would understand. His tests are simple if you listen because he gives you the questions the class before. 100% would take him again

Its really simple, either you do what your supposed to do (which isnt rocket science people) or you dont. That determines if you pass or fail. By that, be on time, do your hw, do the work, and you will pass those exams. The exams were fair, and he was fair all around. Very good proff. He only wants the best for his students.

Strict on phones and tardiness. If you're not that tardy he'll give you 7 point curve at the end of the semester. Tests are easy, he gives a review on whats going to be on exam. Elaborates clearly on topics covered. Its funny the day after the test when there are people who fail and he tells them "please don't consider a career in math" lol. :')

Bruce made me like math again. Took him for a Calc 2 summer course at NCC, and now every other math professor I've had pales in comparison. A person who teaches because they love teaching, not because they loving hearing themselves talk.

Bruce is the man. Great guy and great teacher. You can tell he loves teaching and cares about the success of his students. Reviews for his tests are very helpful and if you know the material on the review you will do great on the exams.

He is a great professor. I came in basically knowing nothing about Calc and was able to pass thanks to the professor. Helpful and explains in detail. Doesnt rush. Make sure to ask questions if you dont understand.

Best professor ever!! Accidentally took calc I without pre calc background and still got a B. He explains things In a way that makes sense. He wants you to learn the material, not memorize it. Hates when you come in late or dont show up, makes his blood boil but hes super funny. Really enjoyed his class. Taking him again next semester

THE BEST CALC 1 professor. He is probably my favorite math professor. He is very nice, plus he is also a professor at Hofstra so you get the same education for a lesser cost. Do your homework and you should be fine.

Took him for MAT109 and he is very clear from day 1 as to what he'll be teaching, grading criteria, his philosophy. He is very on top of everyones attendance, lateness, phones, and participation. He is very clear, understanding, and willing to take time to help you understand the concepts. Amazing professor overall!!

All comments about him that say he is rude are absolutely untrue. BEST prof. I have EVER had. HE CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS AS IF WE WERE HIS OWN KIDS. I had to withdraw because of a family emergency. I AM TERRIBLE AT MATH and he still tried to give me credit for anything I did. LOVED HIM! For god sake DO NOT use your phone in his class or come late.

Professor Abgarian is a total gem of a professor! Hes made math 101 so easy. He is totally understanding towards his students. Hes one of the good ones at NCC. Trust me I know what a bad math professor is and hes far from that. I would definitely take this course again just to have him as a professor.

He also give a great review of the precalc needed for the class.

He was an amazing professor and took his time out to answer any questions thoroughly. He only graded on attendance and the 4 tests we had which was a bummer. He gave homework out for practice but never graded it. Textbook is a must.

NCC has amazing professors (at least all that I took in 2 years were incredible) and Professor Abgarian is one of them! He is always there for all his students, ready to help and explain as many times as you need. Plus he has an outstanding sense of humor that helps you to feel more comfortable being in class! Would def recommend!!!

Prof. Abgarian was one of the best math teachers Ive ever had. I took this class after being away from math for about 3 years and he was able to refresh my mind with topics I once learned. He ensures everyone is caught up to speed and reviews thoroughly before exams. Final exam is optional for students with a 90+ average.

He's the best Math instructor I've ever had. He takes the time to go through the material at an ideal pace, and he has a lot of patience for his students. He gives exams when he feels his students have a good understanding of the unit, not because there is an assigned time to give out tests. He encourages questions and participation.

Here's Brucey!! in hs I always hated math even tho it wasn't too hard for me but this class made it like lowkey fun to solve problems if you know what you're doing. just show up and pay attention in class and you will ace the tests. do the homework for your own benefit, its not graded. hes very lenient if you show care/respect for him and the class

Great professor! Tests are fair, and all of the questions come from the homework. Show up to class, do the homework, and you'll get an A. I flunked Algebra in high school and got an A in this guy's class.

Best Professor I've ever had, hands down. Truly cares about his students if he sees they're willing to put in the effort. Will answer any questions you have in detail, no matter how old the topic is. Explains why things work the way they do to help you understand, rather than forcing you to memorize things with no context of why they work that way.

He only has a couple of tests and they are kind of hard and you can EASILY get confused in the class. He DOES NOT answer any of your emails. He gets angry so easily and he doesn't keep it a secret. DO NOT go on your phone and ALWAYS come to class because if you miss classes he will make it known he doesn't like you nor will you get a good grade.

Although he became frustrated quite a few times with the class, he made math less scary and way more bearable. He understood we had more to worry about outside of his class. Will miss this professor next semester.

Prof. Abgarian was an outstanding professor and taught super clearly and coherently. Before every test, he would give you everything you needed to study and expect before taking it. There's no homework in the class, but he will assign questions from the textbook to answer if you need extra practice. He's hard but he breaks things down super well.

As someone who had never gotten an A in a math class before this, I really enjoyed his class. i went from crying in front of him in the first week and asking if I should drop because I hadn't taken a math class in 4 years to passing with an A. He literally TELLS you what he wants on the tests: JUST ATTEND LECTURES and do the (optional) homework

He is an AMAZING professor. Will do anything to help his students succeed, as long as he sees that you are putting in the effort. I took him for two separate math courses and I did well in both. Take notes and be sure to ask lots of questions!! Take advantage of his knowledge because he is extremely smart and has a lot to share.
