I wasn't really happy with this teacher. I just thought he know the material, yet he didn't communicate the subject enough. His tests were fair, however and easy.
Didn't like the lectures too much. This guy is great, and quite funny. He might repeat Murphy's Law, oh 100x or so--but you'll get used to it. (Thought he never taught prior at OSU-main campus.. but not sure)
very boring and tests were a little rough, no bonuses or anything
Very boring
He was a nice guy, and the class discussions were good, but the tests were based off the book not class. if you like econ go to class for the discussions, if not just read the book.
Bellner is really nice. He tries to make the concepts easier to understand. His lectures are straight off the powerpoint online but make sure you read the chapter the night before you go to lecture, you will understand especially if you're not an econ type of person like me
Easy exams, don't go to class EVER, just read the book.
He is a realllly nice guy. I went to every single class the first half of the quarter and did really good. Second half of the quarter I didn't go at all and did the same. He reads straight off of the powerpoints. Just read the book and take the online quizzes. EASY CLASS IF YOU JUST TAKE A LITTLE EXTRA TIME TO READ.
Lectures are really boring... He reads straight off the powerpoints... His exams for Econ 501.01 were not the easiest ive sat through... Gave a mix of multiple choice and essay questions... Though an easy grader (for the essay answers) and reaaaaly nice fellow.
I loved professor bellner. Read for the exams though, because he likes to talk about current events in class rather than textbook stuff- which is cool if you actually want to learn. If you really aren't into econ- just read and skip class. If you enjoy econ even a little, you'll love his class.
very good prof... very helpful
Fairly knowledgable and good at explaining concepts. Friendly attitude. I found his lectures very boring, though.
Bellner seems to be a nice guy but his lectures are extremely boring...my suggestion, dont go to lectures but do all of the reading then do your best to find a practice exam, also Myeconlab (online course guide) can be very helpful for studying for tests.
Really nice all around guy but the lectures were verbatim from the reading and powerpoints that could easily have been found online. If you get a practice exam for the class then it helps you a lot on his tests.
Awesome guy. Lectures are all online for econ 201.
I took 201 with Bellner because of the reviews on ratemyprofessor. DON'T TAKE THIS GUY! My roomates are in other 201 classes and they are 4x as easy. Bellners Midterms are 75 questions each (in depth questions) and the other 201 professors give 25 question midterms that are MUCH easier. During lecture all he does is read his powerpoints.
Bellner is a nice guy, but this is the most boring class ever. All his notes are online, and he literally just reads straight fromt he slides. It's an easy A, especially if you can get a practice exam from your TA.
the lectures are realllly boring and he goes through the slides quickly- but he posts the powerpoint online so you dont have to go to class. the test questions are very in-depth and there are a lot of concepts (not just definitions to memorize), so you have to study alot to do well.
Bruce is Cool! :D if u can get the practice exams from ur TAs, it makes things so much easier :)
Go to class, read the book, know the material. The prof is awesome but he expects you to do the work. Do the extra credit! It matters and makes a difference. Powerpoint is boring but Econ isn't a super exciting subject to anyone outside of Econ. It does change your perspective, it does help your life decisions.
I found the class to be extremely easy! I didn't buy the book and didn't go to more than a handful of classes and got an A. Essay exams are the only grades. Lectures I saw just read off the powerpoint... so I did the same and just slept in. Good choice for an easy GEC.
He's a really nice guy in person, but by far one of the worst teachers I have ever had. He spends the first 25 minutes of class rambling about useless nonsense and then spends the rest of the class confusing people with horrible examples and other irrelevant speeches. I only went to his lectures because my TA barely spoke english-- way to be OSU.
Not the most interesting subject in the world but his tests are pretty easy. Homework isn't for a grade, your only grade is 3 tests but he does give extra credit. Posts all powerpoints online so you don't have to go to class. I'm taking him for 201 next quarter
The guy is great, he really cares about helping out his students and strives to make his class best for everyone. Really just a generally nice guy.
Lots of group work. One big paper. Good 2nd writing class.
Proff Bellner is a really nice person. He is very helpful. His classes are intresting. There is a long paper to submit at the end of the class but he will work it out in such a way that by the end of the quarter you have a great paper with not too much of an effort.
He gives you all of his lecture notes and supplements so you really dont need to go to class. Reads directly from slides, really boring but easy class. Study Testbank questions, his exams are nearly identical questions
SUPER nice guy. I don't particularly like econ, and hated 200 so expected the same.. but hes a great teacher. Very easy to listen to and you can tell he genuinely loves teaching the material. He actually made me not hate having 830a class at hitchcock! very helpful, i would (and have) recommend(ed) him =)
AS FOR THE ATTENDENCE, YOU DONT NEED TO GO TO CLASS AT ALL, EVEN RECITATIONS. JUST MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP ON EXAM DAYS AND TAKE THE EXAMS. Everything is ONLINE - POWERPOINT SLIDES, LECTURE NOTES, PRACTICE EXAMS ETC. CLASS IS A BIT HARD IF ECON IS NOT YOUR STRONG SUBJECT BUT BRUCE IS A NICE PROFESSOR. TAKE HIM!
This class is overall pretty easy. Tests are pretty straight-forward and not difficult. Going to lecture is pretty boring and pointless because he reads straight off the slides that are online. I never went to class and it was still really easy. Bellner is a real nice guy and is always willing to help you out.
AMAZING! Best professor I will most likely ever have at Ohio State. He is a very genuine guy who loves his job.
Very nice guy & great professor. He's very helpful and seems to enjoy his job. I definitely recommend taking his class.
Bellner is a great professor. He makes sure that he goes over all of the information on the tests. There are never surprise questions on his exam that you didn't go over in class. His exams are pretty easy and a lot of the questions are from the test bank that he posts online. Take his class!
Class is very straight forward. No homework. 1 extra credit. He's worth changing your schedule around for to get into his class.
Professor Bellner is one of the best I have ever taken at Ohio State. The class is extremely interesting!!!! Bruce goes above and beyond to help even out of Econ class. He is very intelligent. Ask him for book recommendations, he reads many books.
Great prof. Looks straight up like Kenneth from 30 Rock.
The class was broken down into an essay which could stem into your final paper, draft, group project, current event article summary, and attendance. Watched 3 interesting movies. He's very approachable & understanding of your problems. Books suggested but not used. Loved the class, would take another class with him :)
This was the easiest class I've ever taken. He's a really nice guy, but there are NO exams so there is literally no incentive to pay attention to lectures, but attendance is taken so half the people there just play computer games. We had a short movie response paper, a final paper and draft, and the easiest group project I've ever done.
The only classes you need to attend are on the days right before each exam, when he gives a study guide with everything that will be on the test. You don't even really need the books because the exam answers come straight from the Freakonomics study guides on Carmen. He's very nice and clearly loves this course. Extra credit available. Easy A.
Great professor! Follows material from book strictly. Exams have built-in bonus and help boost your grade. 3 MTs and 1 final exam (pretty easy). Rec. attendance = extra credit. Easy tests and homework. Do the reading and this is an extremely easy class. I ended up with a 105%. Remember there are NO grade exceptions, bumps, or curve.
By far the best professor I've ever had!
Kinda cheesy sometimes, but he explains things pretty well. Moves through the slides way too fast to write some of the stuff down, but the slides are straight from the book. He gives you a schedule of what he's doing each day, so I'd say take half an hour to read before lecture. You'll get a TON more out of it and it'll be a lot easier.
Easy professor. Interested in what he teaches. Nice guy. Very easy class.
Bruce is the man. Lectures are clear and concise. He's genuinely interested in the material which never hurts. Exams are pretty easy if you follow along with the material. He provides a study guide for each chapter and puts those questions directly on the exam. Definitely would recommend.
This is my second issues of contemporary world class and this class definitely has more work load.(reflective paper, draft paper, presentation, final paper,& more) My other 597 class only had extremely easy quizzes that will guarantee you to get full marks. It's not hard but If u are looking for an easier 597 class, I would not recommend this class.
Great Professor! Although the class is made up of about 500 people he really seems to care about the success of every single student. He's a very nice guy and will help in any way possible. Class is appropriately difficult. He makes all possible test questions available for studying online so study those and the notes and you will be fine.
Bruce is one of the nicest professors I've ever had. He's so interested in finance and the economy and is incredibly helpful whenever needed. I highly recommend him as a teacher. Attendance is worth very little, so you don't really need to go to class. Really easy
Bruce is seriously one of the NICEST men I have ever met. He's very passionate and wants all of his students to learn and do well. I wish I would have taken the time to get to know him better. If you put in a little effort he was a very easy grader. Lectures are straight from the readings, so attendance isn't important except for participation.
He is very knowledgeable and willing to help very student. He also want to communicate with you beyond the material in the class. If you are interested in finance and economics and want to have an international perspective, take him. If you want to go deep into economics, do not take him.
Bruce was one of the nicest teachers Ive had who always had an interest to help the students outside of class. If you have to take an ECON class try your best to get Bruce hes great
Very kind man. Very knowledgeable about economics, and loves learning new things. He wants you to be creative with your work - write and present something that will be new and fascinating for him. The class was excellent, and if you try, he will reward you. He does not grade harshly. Highly recommend.
Very nice guy. Knowledgable and easy to understand. I think he makes a point to make the lectures interesting, especially when covering boring material.
Although most of the lectures are more or less a reading of the power point slides, Bruce makes the material easy to understand and does a more then fair job of preparing you for exams and quizzes.
Very easy class and a great teacher. Strongly recommended. Extra credit is given. Not much time needed except for studying a little before exams and some easy homework that does not take long. If you just read the chapters you do not even need to show up to class as class presentations are straight out of the book. Reading the book got me an A
Great guy. He was recitation teacher for senior capstone which accounts for 60% of the grade. Gave minimal effort and was able to get 59.5 out of the possible 60 points. Take him if you have the chance. Interesting discussions as well.
He's the dude that you want for Econ
Nice guy, easy class
I probably went to lecture maybe 5 times all year and will easily make an A in the class. He posts all lecture slides online as well as a test bank that he draws every test question from. Not to mention the EC assignment worth 5 percentage points in the end. If you can choose your macro professor, take Bruce.
Interesting class! There is a group project, a 10 page draft paper, a take home midterm, and a final 15 page paper. The majority of the semester was listening to groups present their projects. Gave attendanceparticipation points at random times. Watched an interesting movie. He's an easy grader. He's such a sweet guy, always talks to students!
He is a great guy and really cares. Exams are not too bad but you need to study the provided material and book and understand the concepts to do well. The Final was harder. Recitation with the TA sucks and hurt my grade the most. He is very chill and makes it known that he only gives clear cut questions and is not trying to trick us or hurt our GPA
Bruce is the best macroecon professor at Ohio State. I didn't go to class at all, I only read the book. Which is fine because his lecture slides are made from the same company as the book and don't teach anything new. All of the possible test question are also located in the test bank. Don't forget to do the extra credit. It can boost your grade 5%
I took three class teaching by him. Econ 2002, 2367 and 4597. All of them are good. You can learn a lot and get easy A at the same time. He is very helpful. Just 3 paper need to submit and actually it is the same one you extend and modified for three times.
Professor Bruce is a rarity, he is always available to students and always willing to help. Reflecting back on this class you learn alot through the research paper he has you complete and the presentations you listen to every week. Nice, genuine person that really makes learning interactive, everyone should take his classes.
Very good lecturer on an interesting topic. Covers material slowly and is very clear. No textbookoutside reading. Lots of group work and the 2nd half of the semester is just listening to group presentations. 1 research memo, 2 short papers, 1 presentation. Attendance grade matters. Not many assignments in the course. Cares a lot about students.
Amazing guy and an amazing lecturer. Always there for the students and made economic topics easy to understand and more interesting. Definitely would take again!
This class is somewhat harder that other gen eds. His test are literally straight out of the test bank so if you just know the answer to the test bank questions you can get a 100%. Lectures aren't that necessary but he's a good guy and they are interesting. The recitations are pointless, don't bother going the recitation after the exam.
Ok, I took macroecon with him and the underground economy with him as well. For both classes, he is a lazy teacher. Here are whys: 1. Test are straight out of test banks 2. Doesn't talk much about ppt, but the quizzes are 100% based on ppt. so go figure if the lecture is necessary. He take attendance for lectures. I don't like this type of teacher.
I am really tired of the vague instructions. There are totally 5 essays, one presentation, and 2 quizzes (thank god he dropped the last one), to be honest, this is the most hard working class i have ever done. The workload is ok, but just the instructions are too vague and you have to work really hard to follow them. The quiz is extremely detailed.
It was one of the best lecture I have ever taken, it was so interesting, inspiring and practical. Professor Bruce was such a nice guy too. The class is the coolest class ever!
Very easy GE course as long as you stay up on the notes. Almost never attended lecture as the only thing he does in class is read the powerpoints which are available online. All the HW, quiz and exam questions are pulled straight out of the test bank so theres no excuse to not do well. If you do go to lectures they are a little dry.
He is a very nice guy. His lecture can be boring but make sure you show up to get 10/10 on participation/just sign in. Large lecture. DON'T waste money on the textbook. I did fine with just reviewing the slides he posts at the beginning of the class. I actually enjoyed him and would definitely take him for other classes.
he tells you exactly what to expect and the date its due. Directions are clear cut and he grades easy. he isn't too worried about grades he just likes to teach and get everyone into learning what hes teaching
Absolutely love Professor Bellner. Easily the best professor I've had at OSU & his 4597 class is awesome. Super easy grader, and very laid back. This class offers real world application and is interesting AF to be honest. Did not require much effort at all. Lecture attendance isn't required until presentations start.. You will love this class.
Bruce is a great guy and really cares about students. He isn't there to trick you or hurt your gpa. He puts all the test questions on Carmen so if you study those you will get at least a B in the class. Also gives an easy extra credit assignment worth 5% so do that if you want an A.
Bruce is funny and extremely intelligent. I took Underground Econ (4597) with him and it was a blast. The material was pretty easy and we always had fun in class. The only downside to Bruce is that he is pretty unorganized and doesn't give clear guidelines on his assignments. But it wasn't too awful because he was a fair grader.
Don't blow off this class because of all of the easy things you hear about Bruce. Lectures are boring and too hard to pay attention to, not a lot of points available in the class.
Bruce is the best professor I have met at OSU, he is nice and interesting. He really cares about how his students doing. Easy grader but you can learn a lot from his class. I also take his 4597 in this semester, also is a great class. Take his class, you will not regard! Thanks Bruce!
Mr. Bellner is probably my favorite professor to date. He has a very contagious sanguine attitude, creating a laid-back atmosphere. He appreciates you being there and giving it your best effort. Very light coursework. Very kind grader. He's cool and down to earth. If Bruce Bellner is teaching a class you need, TAKE IT! NOW! He's the best, really.
Overall easy class. He is a fantastic nice professor who grades easy. Expect a few group papers and a presentation which aren't that hard. Just feels like busy work. Exams are really easy as long as you go through the online slides and chapters a few times. Would recommend taking him over anyone else. Also a fantastic resource for real life
Bruce is a very good professor however, if you can, avoid taking him for International Business. The class is much harder under him than other professors. The online quizzes are very difficult and count for a lot.
Nice guy but not a great professor. Insanely boring and hard to stay alert during class. Everything needed to pass is put online (including lectures) but he still makes attendance a decent portion of the grade. Exams are easy but quizzes are very detailed based off of chapter readings. Avoid him if possible
Genuinely nice but not a good professor. Lectures are useless but you have to go for attendance credit. All of the coursework is generated by Pearson and takes forever. He also takes forever to return grades. Take a different professor if you can.
If you can take this online, do it. Professor is very nice and timely in responding to emails.
Bruce is fairly laid back. Takes attendance for every class, but lectures are pretty boring and everything he goes over is on the slides. Just re-read the slides before the quizzes. Can find the book as a pdf online. Biggest downside is all the cases to read. All the questions for the cases are done as a group so not too bad. One group project.
Very passionate about teaching and truly cares about his students. Well spoken, knowledgable and understanding. Enjoyed having him as a professor.
Definitely take 4490 with Dr. Bellner if you can. You can watch lectures online or in person. In class recitations apply concepts to cases. Pretty easy grader. Each group does 3 case write-ups and 1 presentation. Exams are pretty straightforward. HW assignments are also pretty easy. For the most part, this was a fairly stress-free course.
Bruce Bellner was great as a professor for a senior class like 4490. He was very thought provoking and really cared about students. The class was very easy overall, but as kind of Fisher's Senior Capstone, I was okay with that. Bruce Bellner still allowed students to learn and think about strategy in business and I really enjoyed the course overall
Very easy class. 3 group case write-ups, 1 group presentation, some online hw weekly but easy. Try to take the online lecture version, then class only once a week. Need to show up for tophat code but don't really need to pay attention in class. 3 MC exams, pretty easy if you memorize slides night before. Easy grader on group work. Really caring
Exams aren't hard if you study a little bit; all from slides, don't really need book. Attendance taken by TopHat. A few group projects throughout the class but nothing super time-consuming. Overall, a pretty easy class if you put in the work.
Lecture is only graded on three exams and attendance. Lectures are incredibly boring as is the whole class, why this is required to graduate is beyond me. When maybe half the class shows up every lecture you'd think it's an indication that no one care about the class.
Bruce Bellner's class was fairly straightforward. If you watch the lecture videos, you should get at least an A- in the class. There was a textbook, but you do not need to read it. The lectures cover everything you need. I would say, however, the exams are quite difficult, but if you study adequately, you should do pretty well. Would recommend
Easy quizzes/activities that are very just completion based and you just have to make sure to stay on top of. Other than that, 2 exams where if you watch the lecture and do his study guides you should be fine.
He's such a nice guy and he is clearly always thrilled to be there every day. He loves the subject and teaching. It was unfortunate that this class was at 8 am and on south campus (far from the business school) because it meant not a lot of people showed up to his lectures. I think the 80 min lectures make it hard to focus.
Good teacher & gives you a reasonable amount of material to be responsible for on the exams. The only issue is- the exams are super hard. random questions are pulled from the book when we werere Required to purchase the book.
One word, boring. Dr. Bellner is very interested in this course but having it at 8am really killed the vibe. He also took attendance which sucked. Lectures are boring and you really don't need to go unless he is taking attendance. Exams are pure information regurgitation with a little bit of information you have to read in the book. He curves.
Very easy for a fisher class. Tests are multiple choice, but somewhat tricky. Read the textbook and do the weekly assignments.
Bruce is an awesome person who really cares about his job and his students. His exams are weighted heavily and require alot of excessive reading. You basically have to memorize blocks of texts which is really annoying. Although that sucks, Bruce does his best to make it the best class it can be.
Bruce is a pretty good professor, I took his online IB class and I really enjoyed it. You have to watch about 3 hours of lectures every week and about 1 hour of homework. You do not need to read the textbook but you should know the vocab for the exams. Overall, I liked Bruce as a professor especially online, but it was not as easy as I was told.
Prepare to do lots of mandatory, online homework for this class, but it's beneficial. The homework really prepares you well for the exams. I actually wish all the business classes operated this way. His curves are generous on the exams. Overall, International Business turned out to be an easy class if you just do the work.
8 a.m's are not the way to go, but he does take attendance and TopHat quizzes every lecture, so there's some motivation. Lectures 50% material that's important and 50% fun fact stats, so the book is important. LearnSmart assignments are a huge help with midterm and exam as well.
Super nice guy and ends up adding a curve. Exams are somewhat difficult but all other assignments are easy and quick.
Assignments besides the 2 exams are all super easy A's ... only thing that might bring your grade down is the exams but even those are relatively easy compared to most courses. No complaints for Prof. Bellner
Lectures were straightforward. If you put in a little bit of effort studying the lecture materials for the exams, you will do just fine. Just make sure to know all the different theories and what they mean. Pretty easy class honestly.
This class is extremely easy. The layout was also extremely organized. You'll do perfectly fine in this class if you put in even a bit of effort.
Bellner is super nice and cares about his students, but 8 am lectures made it hard to focus. IB was a pretty straightforward class with weekly assignments and two heavily weighted exams. He was accommodating and allowed me to take them a day early. I didn't do as well as I should have on those, but nonetheless he's a solid professor.
The only complaint about this class would be the exams. The questions are nothing like the quizzes. HOWEVER, if you really read the chapters and study the material FROM THE TEXTBOOK, you'll do just fine. If you don't do too well on the exams, go to Dr. Bellner's office hours to go over the exam, he's very supportive and will help you succeed!
Actually a great guy, I would *optionally* take another class with Prof. Bellner.
Whoever said the exams weren't like the quizzes was lying! For the exams rewatch the lecture videos and practice the quiz questions. You must study. There should only be two or three curve balls on the exam. I never read the textbook as everything he says in lectures is in there. Sadly ended with a 92.5 and there is no curve :(
Only real way to succeed in this class is to read the textbook- there is no way around it. The textbook explains the material better than his lectures (not really necessary to watch them). The online textbook does allow you to copy & paste, which is nice if you type your notes. The midterm was quite difficult, but the final was not nearly as hard.
I took the 4 week summer session and it was pretty smooth sailing. Bellner seems like a nice guy and he grades in a timely manner. It's really easy to pass the class even with less-than-stellar midterm/final grades as long as you complete all other assignments.
Prof. Bellner is one of the most under rated professors at I've had while attending OSU. He is very passionate. Top Hat is required during his lectures (80 min long X 2). I'd avoid taking his early morning class as sometimes his class is repetive/monotone. Exams (60% of grade) are straight-forward and contain a lot of questions from prior quizzes.
Overall, not a bad class. Take the exams seriously though because they are weighted pretty heavy considering the fact that the only other assignments were easy Pearson quizzes. Overall, I think he's a nice guy and cares about his students. Sometimes his lectures were a little boring but nothing unbearable.
Professor Bellner was a super nice guy, but his lectures were a snooze fest. Your whole grade is pretty much based on two exams that were way harder then I was expecting for a class that every business major must take. You have a lot of easy homework assignments each week, but they really do nothing for your grade.
Bruce is such a nice guy and a great lecturer even at 8am. Unfortunately, the content for this class is pretty boring and there is a LOT you memorize for the exams. I found the exams to be tricky, but if you study you'll do fine. I got an A studying my ass off for the midterm, and then a B- on the final because I barely studied. Easy B, hard A!
Good professor, study for the exams as they count for a lot of the grade.
Dr. Bellner really showed the he cares about his students even through an online setting. That being said, the course is going to challenge you, especially the exams, as both are worth 30%. It's really hard to get an A in this class but if you put in the work then you'll be fine. This class is definitely an easy B but difficult A.
Prof. Bellner was a solid professor, but the class itself is sneaky tough. Two exams are pretty heavy, and some of the exam questions are a little odd. Overall easy B hard A, but Bellner is solid.
He is extremely nice and even for an 8AM lecture, he is enthusiastic and tries to make the course engaging. The material wasn't extremely difficult, there was just a lot of it. Attendance is graded so go for easy points and the homework was pretty simple too.
Pretty easy to keep up with, a chapter or two a week fairly short just take notes and the homework and quizzes will be easy. The tests are worded strange sometimes and kind of confusing. Bellner was cool he sent out weekly reminders.
I would suggest taking this class in person if possible, it's not as engaging online. Weekly readings accompanied by warm-ups, quizzes, and simulations, with biweekly discussion posts aren't too hard to keep up with. The two exams are worth 60% of your grade and he doesn't round or give extra credit so you gotta do good on those.
Good lecturer and cares about his students the content was pretty dry and was brutal to follow at 8am but he posts his lectures so i was able to go back and review the content at my own pace which helped a lot homework was pretty light with only 3 assignments a week but the exams were sneaky tough definitely be ready to study a bit
Even as an online course, you could tell this guy cared about his students. Was appreciative of discussion board posts, and gave exam study tips. Not an overly difficult class if you put in the work. Highly recommend
Professor Bellner is a nice guy, but the content can get dry. The exams are tricky, so be sure to study hard and utilize resources like the textbook and Unstuck AI to prepare. If you put in the effort, you can do well in this class.
Exams are very difficult. Studied both exams for over 6 hours each and did terrible on both. The questions are highly specific and obscure. It almost seems like he is trying to fail students or make the class more difficult than it already is. In both exams, I hadn't seen the information from the course for 30% of the questions. Thanks Bruce!
Great guy, the exams are hard.
Great guy, the exams are hard so study for them
hes a very good professor and tries to make it engaging even at 8am, please take in person. Exams are quite difficult so be prepared to study quite a bit and use the textbook.
Took this class in the summer, online, asynchronous (self-paced), and it was THE EASIEST THING EVER. 4 week class, fully online, never even saw or talked to the teacher, 2 exams (both online), so it was very easy. Definitely take this in the summer for easy credit and an easy A
the way this course is set up is way too exam heavy for him to not provide any sort of study guide or practice questions. you lose access to the the homework and quiz assignments so there's no way to even go back and rework problems. the exams are worded confusing, and yes it feels like he set it up to fail his students.
Class was pretty easy and Bruce seems like a very nice guy and he does care about his students but lecture was so boring.
Bruce is a very nice guy, and it is evident that he cares about teaching students and hoping they do well. However, similar to the marketing class, the exams are overly specific and u really cannot study efficiently for them other than “reading the textbook.” No problem with Professor Bellner, other than making the exams more fair.
Screw him and his dang honorlock tool. Why is this even a thing still. Dont professors care. It has a 1.1 rating in chrome web store and like so many lawsuits
Super difficult to study for exams and you can easily get a bad grade in the class if you do not get a 70% plus on the two exams since those are the only things that change your grade. Bellner is alright, but does not provide any resources to study for exams, and his slideshows during lecture are nothing related to the exam. Very underwhelming
Bellner's exams can be difficult because they test the nitty-gritty of the material. Skip his lecture videos, and just take notes on the textbook. That will set you up for success on exams. Also, if you get a low score on an exam, ask him what you got wrong! I got points back by seeing the questions I got wrong and arguing in favor of my answers.
