Wonderful person, he tries to help in any way he can.His tests are difficult but if you show up to class it's all worth it in the end.He knows what he's talking about and definately wants to see his students become successful as he is.

he has a good interest but very hard to understand. He could slow down and he alway running late.

He's a great teacher, but expect to REALLY learn your material before a test. THEY ARE MURDER!

Supper Smart man, and very hot but he is great for majors in Biology but NOT great for non majors

He has great charisma and is very interested in the students and cares for their success.My advice is to REALLY read your text.His lectures can be very confusing,but as long as you read and ask questions about what you read you should be good.You should REALLY CONSIDER STUDY GROUPS,it helps trust me

He doesnt give hand outs and notes, he covers matirial over-extensivley in the begging of the section, then covers latter section material too briefly. Very nice to students, and funny. Lectures are interesting but tend to stray off subject for awhile. Keep up w/ the material. He's good but hard.

i don't recommend for unmajors. It is a self teach class. if you take him read the text and ask questions in class.

I worked my behind off in his class and passed with a C. Exams were not from the book or lectures! Biology is not where his heart is and if you are smart you will not take this guy. He is a nice person, but that doesn't count if you are failing his class.Take the people who wrote the bio. book.

I would not say that he was an easy going teacher. But yeah he is surely better than other teachers. I think now he is a bit changed, he gives u a pre-test, the exact test before exam to go over it. If you are okay with studying your butt off and only making a C, this is the class for you! He is a great guy; funny, knowledgeable and truly likes his students but his tests are nearly impossible to pass (unless of course you are good at guessing). Take Penrod or Durrant.

Mr. Carroll is a lovely guy, but when it comes to answering some of his own questions he is a miss. He is on a different level than most other teachers I've had.

Biology is not easy, but Bruce Carrroll is very organized and dedicated to teaching. He learned everybodies name and did everything in his power to help us succeed. He is a GREAT TEACHER! You will learn a lot from him.

its not easy. it was fun. it was worth it. He was funny, intelligent, and he encouraged you to think...just be sure you can meet a challenge.

He's a really nice guy, but his class is super challenging I pulled out a B but i pulled a few all nighters before the big tests (he doesn't give study guides, but super helpful if you ask questions)... when you finish his class you'll definately understand the material

Very difficult class but with a great teacher. Tests can be difficult but he lets you preview before hand. Very inspiring and down to earth with his mini lectures from his torn up book.

Very nice teacher, and that's about the only good thing about his class. His class is murder. He motivates and inspires you at the beginning of each class by reading out of his beat up book, but then demoralizes you with his tests. Even after he lets you view his tests, it's still hard. Do not take him unless you want to mess up your GPA.

Awesome personality. Very knowledgeable professor. He teachers you to be a better student, believes that every student has potential and challenges you to use it. Test are definitely challengeing. You need the preview. But, just read and study. DO NOT GET BEHIND! Focus stay on track...U can perservere. Highly recommend..u will learn if u want

Awesome professor, one of the best!!

Exams are hard. So read all of your chapters and do NOT fall behind. Unlike other professors, Dr. Carroll genuinely cares if you care about you and and the subject. I learned a lot, applied a lot of sweat, and got a well deserved C. I might have gotten a higher grade an another class but I wouldn't have learned as much as I have in Carroll's. :)

He really cares for his students, but his test are very HARD! I studied very hard for his test, read all the chapters, and listened attentively in every lecture, but still made a D on the 1st 2 exams. I could not afford to mess up my 4.0 gpa; I had to drop his class. I am now a senior, and his class is the only class I have ever had to drop.

He is knowledgeable and wants students to learn the material. He cares about his students. The downside is that his tests are very hard and sometimes he spends too much time talking about personal life. I recommend science majors take him because what you learn in his class will follow&help you in other classes.I got an A but many struggled for a C

Biology For Majors: I was expecting a challenge and boy did I get one. He doesn't ask anything impossible from students. He's more on a University level then community college. His personal annecdotes while extremely motivating, tend to diverge from the curriculem. Wonderful professor, careful lest you end up with an "unmotivated" lab partner.

If you want to learn and at the same time get advice, this is who you should take. He makes learning interesting and thats why we understand and learn everything ...HE IS THE BEST OF THE BESTS

He's a really good professor! He knows the material like the back of his hand. His tests are easy if you read your chapters! I got a B in both his 1408 & 1409 classes! If he taught any other subject I would take him again because there was never a dull moment in his class!

best teacher ever as a new student he has really helped me in a lot of things besides class work,he'll look out for u all u have to do is read..on life he has great advice..he is a great teacher not just good.

Very nice and helpful. Uses powerpoints to lecture. Doesn't refer to the book as much in class but exams are over the book! Must read chapters to get a good grade. Labs are done in groups and not taken for a grade. 4 lecture exams and one final. No homeworks or projects. Highly recommended!

he's a GREAT professor. he knows what he's talking about like the palm of his hand. U do have to read & pay attention & go to class b/c the tests aren't a piece of cake but in the end U get what you worked for throughout the semester. he's realistic and if U want to slack off and not put in effort then dont take him. making an A is not impossible.

Very nice prof, has difficult exams. No study guides. Hard to study for exams because your not sure exactly what will be on them. Power points are long, up to 100 slides, so once agian alot of info. Talks alot about family and himself, nothing related to bio tho. Gives out life advice and preaches alot. Exams are the only grades. no lab is graded.

Coolest teacher ever...Gave us 25% of his class so its was only 4 test, final, and lab quizes... HE is funny and is able to help you out in any situation, and he would curve the grade

He is cool teacher, he gives like life advices almost every class, and the lectures are long. And it is hard to study because he covers so much material and no study guide at all, which is why he tells students to read the textbook.

I would not take his class. Extremely hard. He expects you to fail. It's all book work. His lectures are long and confusing.

He makes you do labs but he never grades them. the only grades i had in there were my test grades so it was imposible to make an A or B. unless you really enjoy bio and are interested in it. lectures r long up to 100 slides each. no study guides for test. and does not tell you what you will be tested over.

Caroll is a great person! but as a teacher, he teaches for 15 min but goes of topic. he's fun and funny i enjoyed his class. but his test and lecture was opposite. i pass w/ a C. but it was hard to earn.

Prof. Carroll is awesome. He's hilarious and very easy going. He gives you slideshows as reviews. His tests are hard and the B I received, I had to work my butt off for. I recommend taking him though! He's extremely nice and very caring. Which is rare in some professors.

If I have to pay money for the lecture, I should get a lecture of what I'm paying for.I'm motivated already, i'm enrolled in college! Be responsible with your profession!!! I withdrew from the class because it required a LOT of time for reading but he was very motivational and an exceptional teacher. He really knew what he was doing and would give real life examples. He really wants everyone to pass but will require you to do a lot of work so don't take this class if you can't read a lot or don't have time.

professor carroll was an exceptional professor. He kept his students encouraged and motivated to be the best they could not in biology but in life. from him, i have learned that if you want it bad enough you will work for it. he did not lecture biology all the time but gave life lessons...biology is the basis for life.

lectures were interesting, however, they did not always involve biology. He's a good person, but i do not recommend him if you are lazy and want an easy grade. Reading the textbook is required in order to pass the class.

Professor Carol is a good person, but his class is hard. If you want to fail biology, you should take him. His class is based on reading the textbook, and the lecture exams does not have anything to do with the lecture. I passed his class with a c, but I struggled a bunch. :(

Dr. Carroll doesnt set u up to fail, he makes it very hard to fail his classes. He doesnt count ur attendance against u & has powerpoints & animations for every section available to u online, which he goes over in class. While he may go off topic more then u'd like, his stories always have a point(usually). Remember time away doesnt mean time off!!

Many people lie to you on your way to success. He shows you reality. If it were not for Professor Bruce Carroll my life would be very different. He taught me how to rise to the challenge of school and most importantly, how to process information. God bless you and your family Mr. Carroll

Carroll's class is without a doubt a class every one who desires to be successful should take. His methods of teaching show you how to be successful in your other subjects as well in biology. If you are looking for an easy A this is not a class for.

This is not an easy class, but no science classes are. I am not the perfect student, but Professor Carroll helped me way more than he needed to. He really knows his stuff, and he will definitely help you out. Try your hardest and you will succeed.

Amazinnngggg..grace!! I was his favorite because i was his smarticle! Why? BECAUSE I THE BOOK!!!! I made an A in the class. If you study and do your work than you have no reason to freak out. The people that are posting comments about how hard his class is..are probably lazy and stupid. You don't have to be the smartest to get a A.

DO NOT TAKE HIM! Talks nonstop about himself! Contradicts himself! Has high expectations and imposes his own standards on others! Likes to read, so you better learn to like to as well! Grades based purely on tests and no reviews given! Teaches on a majors course level even though class for non majors. If class was about him, would have aced it!

Very stressful class. No labs, grades on tests only, no reviews. Must read a lot. High expectations. Many dropped. Talks about himself a lot. It is hard to make even a "C" in the class. You will spend many hours studying for the tests and you must read the book, even to just make a, C.

Wow ya'll need to calm down. Mr. Carroll is an excellent teacher that not only teaches about biology but about life too. I got an A+ in his class both times and yes I had to read the book. Grow up people, learning how to study from a book will only help u later in hard classes. I recommend him to everyone!! Super helpful and funny! :)

He is a very smart, intelligent, and eloquent Professor. Anyone that expects a BIOL class to be a walk in the park is in lala land. Wake up!You have to readdddd! He encourages you to read, he teaches the material, and he is willing to help anyone that shows hard work. I made an A, because I listened in class and read.He is awesome! Simply the best.

Carroll keeps it real! He's an intelligent man, wants you to work equally as hard as anyone else in the world.Rewards are EARNED not GIVEN.Nobody said biology was going to be a walk in the park so you have to earn your grade.There are plenty of resources like tutors, and also catching up with him before/after class! I would choose another professor for biology. Carroll spends most of his time talking about himself and not on the course subject.

I took this course six years ago, but this class, and teacher, changed my life.. the way I view the world. Thank you Mr. Carroll, for doing what it is that you do. You're appreciated, and making a difference in the world. Wish more professors had your passion.

The best teacher I have ever had in my entire time in college. It is rare to find a professor who loves their line of work so much that they exude that passion onto their students. He inspires you to think for yourself, to learn, and to succeed. Amazing professor!!!

He has very good morals and views about life but this class is very hard. The way he words his test are frustrating. You have to thoroughly read every word in the book just to make a C. I love his desire for the students to succeed but his class is beyond difficult. Don't expect a review sheet. I wouldn't take him. Trust Me!

very hard professor has good morals about life and such but no study materials or notes expects you to memorize the book and tests are worded so difficult the first test only one person made a 70!

His tests are really hard, especially if you don't read. Reading the textbook is essential to passing his class. He doesn't lie when he says the numbers work to your advantage. D's & F's on most of tests, but still will likely finish with a B. He often gets off subject and tells personal stories, most of them involving Nicholas & Noah.

GREAT!! professor although I thought I wouldn't pass his class because of what others said I did it was not easy though you have to READ and time away does not mean time off- Carroll I hope you read this lol. He's really smart knows his biology makes people laugh and he's pretty nice.

His class is not hard but the work and effort you have to put in because he cant just give you an A just for showing up, you HAVE to READ the BOOK. I really liked his class and sweet and encouraging. But he's not sweeter than candy lol ;) he also loves candy!

Best professors for biology compared to others he doesn't require labs you get 100's for that but grades on exams strictly so if you read the book you'll pass if you have a C in the class he will bump it up to a A great professor I used to hate him all along because I thought his was the hardest but it's not

Apart from being a good professor, he is a great person. My friends and I were in his office all the time. He is willing to help you in any way he can. LISTEN TO HIM! At first, I was like, "What does he have to teach me about life?" Now that I don't have him I realize how much he was right! It'll get rough but keep on truckin'!
