Extremely Personable, helpful, and Caring. One of the clearest teachers in the math department. If he's teaching it take it. You will learn alot. But study because his tests will require it. Tests are related to the homework, though.
Great teacher...easy to follow but challenges you as well. Notes are also clear and helpful. I would take him for any class he teaches.
A great teacher. Totally prepares you for his tests. Just go to his lectures and take good notes. Don't really have to go to the activity section. Most of the test questions are from the homework, so make sure you do the homework!!
He's a great teacher, if you try he will do all he can to help you. Tests are very fair. Notes are the most structured your going to see in the department. Hes your best bet!!
Great professor and very helpful.
Dr. Chaderjian is a very caring and considerate professor. His lectures come off extremely clear and to the point. He keeps the class entertained with his "quality jokes". The coursework is demanding but in the end a rewarding result. Much to be learned from him
One of the best math teachers I've ever had. He is so clear in teaching he will make sure that you don't miss a single step. Kind of a lot of homework but nothing unreasonable. The tests are easy, I would definitly recommend him.
He is very helpful and will even assist you with homework the day it is due... how cool is that. Great professor. If you need help just ask he is always available for questions concerning test and homework.

Most organized notes and lecture you ever have. He balances his teaching with some funny jokes to keep you from getting bored. Very very nice, very intelligent.
Awesome teacher! He's very funny and gives good notes/lectures. As long as you do the homework and study for his tests, you'll do great! Really a great professor!
He is a great teacher. Awesome. He is funny, tests are kinda easy (maybe they are easier for students that like math). Do the homework and you will do fine.
Awesome prof. He is so funny and interesting. No quizzes but hw are a handful but keep up and u will do fine. Four test and final. Great guy. You will learn calculus and it will most likely help u out in calc II.
Dr. Chaderjian is the best of the best, he is very clear, has the most organized math notes you have ever seen, and is extremely helpful. Your grade is based on 3 tests (60%) final (30%) and Homework (10%), All he wants is for his students to do well...
He is the best math teacher I have ever had. He gives very organized and detailed notes and he is always willing to help.
Spoil yourself and take Dr. Chaderjian's Calc I class. He does everything he possibly can to help his students succeed. I've yet to find such a dedicated professor for any other class. Change your schedule to work around his class, he'll make you work hard, but you'll thank yourself later.
NICEST AND MOST HELPFUL GUY YOU WILL EVER MEET!!! TAKE HIM!!!
Wow, I wish I met Bruce a long time ago. Literally the most inspiring and dedicated professor I have ever had. Amazing teaching skills. But remember, its calc. 3! Lots of stuff to remember, he finished book. Be prepared to do 6-14 hours of homework each week. Truly a wonderful and effective leader. Bruce will go out of his way to help anyone.
He's a real good teacher. His tests are exactly like the lecture examples and hw. You just need to grasp the concepts, and you're good. Easy A.
Great Professor..... sooo much hmk test are just like the hmk. not easy but you will learn calculus which in turn makes all your other classes a bit easier. math 224
he is beyond the nicest and wisest professor i have ever met! he breaks it down the the simpliest understanding and slows down if he has to. math is hard of course but he makes it better and hes funny! ive never fallen asleep. definately take him!
Great professor. Taught with enthusiasm and the notes were very clear. Easy to understand, not too fast. Mandatory homework wasn't bad as it kept you on track with the class.
THE BEST!!! THATS ALL I HAVE TO SAY..... 4 EXAMS, HW EVERY WEEK..GOOD NOTES.
love him!!get him!!.. he is the best!!.. if you want to learn, he is the one...notes are what is on the test. 3 midterms, 1 final, HW every week.
Great professor, one of the best I've ever had. He makes everything understandable and will make sure you know the stuff. He makes jokes all the time and will know your name by the end of the class. I highly recommend him.
Super High unrealistic expectations, He finished the whole math book but often rushed through topics even if whole class wasnt on same page, didnt curve much; I got a 68% enen after getting help in office hours.
He's a good teacher, wants you to succeed; however, he constantly lectures you with his high expectations. Sometimes it's insulting. If you ever had a prof. with high expectations, you know what you are up against. If you want to learn and can put up with his expectations, take him. Math hwk due every week. Attendance mandatory. 3 exams and a final
He presents the material so well that it makes calculus look easy. I only got 1 problem wrong on two of the midterms, and I was taking other science classes. He writes on the board in exactly the same format that you will write in your notes, which is amazing!! He is so nice and makes awesome (nerdy) jokes during lecture. What a great guy!
He's Great! Lets you know what he expects. Notes are clear and relevant.
Had a great time in his class. He is funny and has a great sense of humor that makes it easier to pay attention to this difficult course. If you need help, just ask him and he will be very glad to tell you all you need to know.
Great teacher; never wrote a rating on here before but doing it now just to recommend Prof. Chaderjian. Encourages you to ask questions, never moves on until he's sure you understand. Homework load is just right for understanding the material. Very passionate and easy to understand what he is teaching! Many of us are returning to him for Calcul
Chiderjian is one of the best professors at CSULB I highly recommend him. His lectures and notes are very clear. Notes are necessary for homework that is due every week and it's about ten percent of the grade. My advice, if you do the homework and review notes the tests will not be hard. Take him for Calc.122.
One of the greatest professor I've ever had. Extremely helpful and informative. Homework was a load but it helped out in the end. Exams are pretty challenging but if you do the homework, its pretty easy.
I've taken Math 111 and currently taking 122 with him. He's simply amazing. There is a homework that's due weekly and probably 4 to 5 exams. If you do your homework and take notes, you'll do great in his class. His tests aren't easy, neither impossible. If you give him enough time, you won't regret it. P.s he is the funniest too :D
Wonderful. I can't say enough. Math is not my subject but he is one of the best teachers I have ever had. If he taught ever class, math would be my major. Arrange you schedule to take him, it's worth it. I received an A and in no way could have with an okay professor
I want to say that he was the best professor I ever had. Lectures are CRYSTAL clear, and he wont ever try to trick you on the exams. Seriously, plan your schedule around taking his class. Math isnt the easiest subject in the world, but he makes it worht your time. Funny as hell too!
He is a great professor!! he makes math much easier to understand...and math isn't my best subject! not to mention, he has a very good sense of humor.Just make sure to study the notes and homework then you'll do fine in the class.
Show up to class and you'll do fine. Most of his test questions come from the notes. His final is super easy. Class attendence is mandatory. He gives homeowrk every day but gives you till the end of the week to turn it in. It's not hard at all to do well as long as you show up and do the homework.
Weekly homework, 3 exams + final. AMAZING. His humor is so corny, it's cute :) Each session is very helpful, he'll go off on a tangent to wake up the class. Explains the material MAGNIFICENTLY (and sometimes sings it too!) Friday classes were worth it. You won't get a better learning experience than Bruce :) Look forward to MATH224 with him!
Bruce is awesome. He is very clear with the material and helpful. Highly recommended!
Best math teacher I have had so far! The best part about him is how helpful he is. He is the one teacher where I feel comfortable going to office hours because I know he really wants to help. While the subject matter is not easy, he presents it in a very manageable way and tries to make the class enjoyable. Overall, amazing professor!
Bruce is a genuine kind of professor he will take care of you. The Homework may seem tedious but it's the hard problems which makes the exams easy. Exams cover his notes, and homeworks - no curveballs - NO CURVEBALLS - you just need to show up, and man up.
ONE WORD- AMAZING!! This professor is perhaps the best math professor I have ever dreamed of having. He not only cares to the fullest about ALL his students, he also puts all his effort into teaching the material right. The class isn't easy but his notes are seriously the calc 1 bible! Pay ettention, do weekly homework, and you'll do well!
Favorite teacher that semester. Get started on the HW early, you'll probably have to ask him a few question during office hours. Absolutely hilarious. Tests were long but extremely fair. Can use cheat sheets. Always late though and almost never got graded assignments back in a timely manner.
Absolutely the best professor I have ever had in math. Why? Because he puts a LOT of effort into teaching!!! He's always enthusiastic about everything he teaches!! The material just flows out of him EASILY with no hesitation (he knows what he's talking about) and even with the worst time constraint he manages to throw out a few corny jokes :D !
completely rude and inconsiderate. he was always late to all of the classes. never take you in office hours, even when he had them and would take forever grading homework, if he cared to grade. he would just mark that you did it. his lectures were awful on an ancient projector machine and notation was not standard at all or even from a book.
The subject is really hard but the way he went over the material very clear. If you don't understand the material, go to his office hours and he will explain everything again and make sure you understand it. Highly recommend this prof.
The way he explains calc is just wonderful, makes derivatives and integrals the best things in the world tests are based on the notes, will not give you question he didnt cover on the notes. no jukes, curveballs, troll questions, generous grader, even if you missed the 4pt question he will still give partial credit. Handwritten HW, which helps alot
Show up to every class because its important to take notes. He tells corny jokes but u gotta love his energy! Just pure good vibes! He makes u turn in HW (2 not fall behind). He answers HW problems in the activity. 3 Midterms and a Final. Con: U gotta wait 2weeks to get ure results for each midterm. Highly Recommended! Make sure u put work in!
Three tests and one final. Tests are based on notes no tricks, so it's important to go to every class. Textbooks are a must, he gives handwritten hwk which is actually helpful to learning the material. Lectures are straightforward and he tries his hardest to keep you interested by throwing lame(but still manages to put a smile on your face) jokes.
Bruce is more approachable compared to other professors teaching this class. But he is alot more stricter when it comes to grading.
I got a 100% on the first test by knowing how to do all of his class note examples by heart. For the other exams, always spend the most time studying his notes, but brush up on hw a little if he tells you to. I never slacked off on hw even though lectures were more important. You NEED the practice! Hws are about 20 problems each & due once a week.
He's brilliant & cares a lot about his students and puts in a lot of effort to make sure they understand the material, but his tests are insanely long and quite difficult. I studied for his second test for 3 days straight and knew everything, but I got a D. I wouldn't really recommend taking him.
Excellent professor which can present the material in an effective way. He made DE very understandable. Hw is heavy but critical to success on the exams. His exam are tough and he grades very harsh. I struggled with his exams often times thinking I did very well to find out I barely passed. I would recommend him and would take again, be prepare.
I've had Professor Chaderjian for MATH 111, MATH 224, and now Math 370A. He's by far one of the greatest professors I've ever had. Definitely appeals to those who want to learn the material as his lectures are very straightforward and helpful. His tests are just like the homework and he never includes an unfair question. Worth the hard effort.
I still remember his class to this day, really great professor. Would definitely take him for any math course because he makes everything so clear and understandable
It's only been the first week of class and this guy is guaranteed to make you love the subject, he's so hilarious and a very good teacher. Don't expect it to be a high school class and work hard.
Dr. C is the most deeply caring professor that I have ever had. He is a very slow grader and grades very meticulously, but he does this because he wants to provide good feedback so you can learn. His attention to detail is commendable, and his lectures are very thorough. I learned so much from him, both in class and in his generous office hours.
One of the best math professors Ive ever had. Took him for both Math 224 and Math 364A. Tries his hardest to make the material clear and doable. Excellent lectures and more than willing to help with any questions inside and outside the class. Assignments are long, but if you put genuine effort in completing them, you will do well on the exams.
An excellent lecturer. Clear as day, straightforward, throws no surprises at you. Explains every little step carefully. He's very personable and helpful in office hours. He assigns homework weekly, but isn't very strict with deadlines. He takes a while to grade your work and is somewhat picky at it. Just don't write more than you need.
Best professor I have ever had. Mr. Chaderjian teaches his students like he would his own children. Very clear and easy to understand and for Calc 3 that is a must. I have had other math professors with higher scores but in reality, Mr. Chaderjian is the best I have had. He teaches you exactly what you need but it is YOUR job to study for the test
Best math professor I have ever had. He explains things really well and he genuinely cares about all his students. He is super nice and is always trying to make u laugh during lectures. The class itself is not hard,16 hw's, 3 midterms and a final. It is very lecture heavy and he goes quite fast. Also, he is a very tough grader. Hard work required.
"TAKE THIS, PUT HERE" ;) Alright, seriously though, I enjoyed Chaderjian's class. His lectures are thorough yet concise and consist of exactly everything you'll need for his homework and tests. Just show up, take notes, and do the homework. He's also pretty funny, I think I laughed in all of his lectures.
Homework is due weekly. No WebAssign. Attendance isn't mandatory but you're going to need the lecture notes since the lectures directly aligned with the test. Class consists of 3 exams and 1 final. Reviewing your notes and old exams is honestly the best way to go and remember the chain rule! Don't buy the book! You can find an online pdf.
He really is the sweetest man Ive ever met! He genuinely cares about his students and their education. During the pandemic he transitioned very well despite his lack of expertise in technology, he made it work! He was fair and didnt make the exams insanely difficult just bc it was online. Definitely made quarantine school a lot better!
HW 10%; Participation 5%; Midterm Exams 60%; Final 25%; PROS: Please don't get me wrong, he is a very caring Professor and always takes questions before class. CONS: He takes forever to grade, takes too much time talking about Algebra topics, and is probably a better prof in class than in ZOOM. Exam problems are very tedious and less conceptual.
I loved Professor Chaderjians class! Hes a sweetheart and tries his best to make the class interesting. Hed include jokes here and there to keep our spirits up! Hes also a very good math teacher and made everything easy to understand.
Dr. Chaderjian is really great. The class is really tough, but he gives good lectures that will help you for exams. He even gives extra office hours days before the exam. All lectures are recorded, and his exams are challenging. If you need any help with HW or the material, go to his office hours and he will help you!
This guy is easily the coolest professor I have ever had. His lectures are amazing and he is always more than willing to help. Wants you to succeed and he makes it known. Very encouraging. You WILL learn. Downside is the exams are LONG and tedious. Wanna do good on his exams? Practice doing the exercises as fast as possible. It's like a speedrun.
His grading is arbitrarily harsh and seems personally biased against certain students. A female class-mate routinely turned in identical assignments but received consistently higher grades. Lectures were OK for the first half then he just e-mails you pdfs of ancient Xeroxed papers that are essentially un-readable. Which he reads aloud in class..
Shocking that this class is offered with no programming. The professor seems caring but this class is mostly training for how Prof. thinks a proof should be written. As a student I got no real value since the course content hasnt been updated in over a decade. We should be writing algorithms in Python for homework and proving theorems in class.
Professor Chaderjian is an amazing professor, especially when entering the world of calculus. He's funny, respectful, and most definitely cares for the class. Homework isn't too bad, however, attending lectures is a must especially during the activity sessions which also provides much-needed help for homework.
If youve taken a previous Calc class, knowing your methods of how to do problems, dont take this class. Ive taken calc 1 before & the methods I knew he would count it as incorrect bc it wasnt what he taught, even though they are confusing. 3 midterms and 1 final. 15-16 homework assignments in total. Never want to experience this class again.
He's one of the best professors I've had. He's really funny, and super nice. Lots of homework but they are easy. If you understand all the homework, tests are really easy, because they are pretty much the same. He does go pretty fast though and won't always do a lot of examples for some sections. I'd highly recommend him overall.
TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE TO DO CALCULUS! Chaderjian is the best math teacher I've ever had in my life. You have show up to the lectures and take notes and ask questions. The class is small so you get a lot of help and feedback on homework problems. Don't skip the activity days, they're the most helpful part of this class! He has the kindest soul
Honestly one of the best Math teachers I have ever had.
I had a depressive episode so I withdrew, but this professor is amazing in teaching, helping, and being engaging. Definitely #1 for calc 1. Tests are difficult, he gives partial points. He teaches with a passion and cares for everyone. He offered to let me come to his office hours even when I withdrew and prayed for me like isn't that so nice???
I loved listening to his bad jokes that he told every week. Also, he helped me during a quiz and I think that's really cool.
He gives lots of homework and sometimes will have you do the problems by his way only, or you won't get credit. He is a really good guy with some funny, jokes. He is a great professor if his teaching style works for you. It didn't personally click with me, so I struggled. Exams where challenging; he tries to prepare you for them with more homework.
Amazing professor! He is a great lecturer and funny. DE's aren't that hard if you get the hang of it and love computational work. Weekly hw that range from medium to long amounts. Some problems can be tedious and take up space to work but not hard. 3 exams and they resemble questions from the homework. Ask ?s when needed and you should be fine.
Really nice and caring guy overall, grading was very harsh at times and partial credit is almost unspeakable in this class and made it much harder than it needed to be.
I struggled a lot in his class for sure. There was also other factors that I have struggled outside of class. Besides the point, he is indeed a tough grader in test and homework harshly. Make sure go to his office hours whenever you need help or get a tutor that supplements your learning style.
Prof. Chaderjian is the GOAT. Lectures were never boring and he was always taking care to make sure we understood the material. If you have the opportunity to take his class for Calc 1, do it. You're very unlikely to regret it.
Okay, I technically failed, but I would absolutely take him again. After my final (which he probably knew I was gonna fail), he told me that this grade doesn't represent how smart I actually am. He's a very kind professor, I totally should have gone to his office hours since Differential Equations is crazy hard. He'll help you if you just ask!
Professor was very nice and respectful, but was a very unnecessarily tough grader and ultimatly I withdrew because of the huge load of homework.
Awesome professor, takes notice of every student and genuinely wants to see you succeed. His homework sets got a little long sometimes but if you manage your time well it shouldnt be an issue. Great lectures and great guy.
An excellent professor when it comes to teaching Calculus 3. If you want to understand and learn the subject, take his course, however, he gives ALOT of homework being a downside. 3 exams and final are very similar to his assigned homework so if you put in the time to study, it makes things a lot easier. Overall, very respectful and nice professor.
Best math professor in csulb
I give this rating because homework is like 10-15 percent of your grade and the other 85-90 is straight 3 exams and final. Grades very strict on homework and have to actually show steps and put full effort for high credit. Withdrew after exam 2 because of how hard it drops your grade. Took Bao Nguyen following semester and was 100x better.
Definitely top 3 math professors at CSULB! Great lectures and funny guy but the course is dense (as expected). Textbook wont help if you skip since he has his own way of solving problems and expects you to solve them that way. 3 exams 1 final and several hw thats worth i think 10% of your grade. Very generous grader on exams
