Great Teacher, very smart, dont need to turn in homework, tests are exactly from homework questions, but the hard ones. If you have him just do the homework promblems over a day or to before the test.
Knows the material forwards and backwards. He tests on what homework he assigns and allows calculators. If you have any problems he has extensive office hours and seems to enjoy helping people. Gives extra credit for good class participation.
Very good professor overall unless you are not good at timed exams. I never completely finished one of his exams. He picks people that he likes and then people that he doesn't like. When I asked for help, he seemed to want me out of his office ASAP.
Lucky if you have him for calc 3 discussion, if not skip and goto this discussion, made sense out of my lectures, likes to joke about giving away UF football tix, gave me $200 (shredded) dollars for taking a partial derivative.
Good teacher. Explains things clearly, and easy to understand. You come out of his class feeling that you learned something. Always a friendly fellow too, makes the learning experience all the more pleasant. Highly advised!!!
Great teacher, explains everything clearly and has a great sense of humor. Great Great Great teacher.
Both Calc 3 problem session instructers were superb this semester, with Edwards and McCullough...more than I can say for previous semesters when my buddies took it. That was before there was the "problem session." This tremendously helped the class. Looks like they're doing it next semester too.
This man is amazing. He can explain a mathematical topic in such a way that a middle school student can understand it. He foreshadows what you will learn in future math and engineering courses, giving you reason to study the material carefully. Very lucky if you get this man as your professor.

I totaly love him. but his class is slightly kicking my ass. i guess thats what clac 2 does tho. Hes awesome, and so are his TAs! woot
HE IS AN AWESOME GUY AND FUN TO LISTEN TO IN CLASS. THE TEST ARE THE HOMEWORK QUESTOINS SO MAKE SURE YOU GO OVER THOSE. MAKE SURE YOU GET HIM AS A TEACHER, HES THE BEST!
dont like him much. no partial credit. no curve. makes things seem simple but on your own they r harder bc he goes thru them too quickly. treats stuff like u saw it in ap calc but the ap curriculum has changed and his hasnt. hes a likeable guy just the no partial credit on the majority of free response answers KILL test scores.

Very nice guy, and probably the best one to get for calc2 if u can, BUT THIS IS A VERY TOUGH COURSE AND HE HAS VERY, VERY LITTLE PATIENCE WITH STUDENTS WHO CAN'T KEEP UP...i still say take him, cause his notes and examples are pretty helpful at times, BUT make sure u get a very, VERY good TA...(p.s. rumor is they might be disbanding this class)...
class is hard as anything. he makes things seem so easy but then busts out weird stuff on tests. hes definitely a nice guy... quite entertaining... but just a very hardcore math guy. i just wish there were a curve or something because im pretty sure the majority of the class is being killed.
Professor seems like he cares and works easy problems that a "small gerbel" could do, quizzes are easy if you do hw, but tests are HARD, considering there is NO partial credit for Free Response questions... so if you're like me, and copy answers out of solutions manual for hw and understand only general concepts, don't take this course with Edwards
hes an awesome professor; my favorite so far. He really knows his stuff and hes really funny too; always cracks jokes and makes the class interesting. The test are ok except when there was no partial credit; that was horrible; but if u do the hw ur absolutely fine
I highly recommend Dr. Edwards. He teaches clearly and at a good pace. His exams are fair and all the material on which he tests is covered in lecture. Further, he's just got a great charisma for teaching.
Dr. Edwards is very enthusiastic about calculus and is a great professor in my opinion. The class is not easy, but I did learn a lot. Just study before the tests. Quizzes help, but that is up to the TA. When in his class, I actually enjoy calculus.
He is an amazing professor!! He is so funny! His class isnt that easy to pass but if you do everything he says and do the hmwk and go to class you will be fine. His tests are straight from the hmwk. His grading is that bad, he does give some particial credit. He is always willing to help. I really enjoyed his class.
A really funny guy. Knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. Tests aren't exactly easy, but the problems are similar from homework and notes, so go to class.
Edwards understands Calc to the point that he expects your understanding to be at the same level. He really is entertaining but the class is very hard. Do the hw, and take advantage of your TA.
Very funny and entertaining, but be prepared to go to class, study, and do the homework that he assigns.
Good teache,. Make sure to do the homework and understand the lecture examples.
Do the Homework and GO TO LECTURE! This is pretty much true for any calc II class, but with bruce edwards, you can understand what he is saying, take advantage of it and you will pass this class with ease.
One of the best teachers I've ever had. Has an amazing personality that keeps you awake and alert throughout lecture. Take good notes and do the homework. He does not put trick questions on tests. All the test questions are variations on the homeowrk problems
Professor Edwards is a straightforward professor in the fact that he expects you to be dedicated enough to learn the material. The exams are variations on homework, the in-class quizzes based on that day's lecture. He expects as much out of you as possible, but helps if you need it. Tips: Go to class, take notes, do the homework and you'll pass.
Very good teacher. Explains things extremely well and always asks for questions. Tests are straight-forward and no tricks. Always went in to tests over-prepared and did well blah, blah, blah...
Dr. Edwards is sooo nice and funny. He is also very straightforward, all of his tests come from homework and lecture examples, so make sure to at least look over the stuff from the book. He is also very entertaining in lecture and keeps the students interested. He actually gave prizes out for getting answers right in lecture! Take him if you can
Edwards is pretty much the best calculus teacher you could hope for, you can understand him, he's helpful, he cares about his students, and his exams are taking from homework problems so nothing will be unfamiliar. If you do the homework and go to class (attendance quizes), this class is an easy A.
Professor Edwards is a great teacher, but I found this class to be incredibly difficult. Our only grades were tests and pop quizzes, the grading scale was ridiculous, and there was no curve (and partial credit was rare). Our discussion section began with 32 people and by the end only 21 remained. The 33% drop rate speaks for itself.
Awesome professor! All of the questions on the tests are variations of homework problems and lecture examples! Also, there are lots of drops. The class is structured as follows: 75% Tests (Best 5 out of 6), 14% Discussion Quizzes (Best 7 out of 10), & 11% Open Friend/Note Lecture Quizzes (Best 11 out of 14). Take this class if you took AP Calc AB!
He's a good teacher, but he does have some annoying quirks. The class is pretty easy, and it is even easier if you do the homework. The quizes and tests are homework problems.
He is an excellent teacher. The class is hard and challenging. You are going to have to study if you did not take BC and the problems in the tests are not that easy. However the class is doable and an A is not impossible. He is funny and makes the class entretaining. If you really want to learn calc 2 take this guy.
Very good teacher and very funny. Do all homework in order to be successful. Tests are relatively easy
Really good teacher, not so good outside of class. Homework isn't mandatory for Calc 2 but the subject gets overwhelming if its not done
Nice and funny guy, not so nice outside of the class though. lecture are clear to understand, test are not that hard if you do ur hws. this class can be challenging if u didn't take calc BC back in HS
Great professor;;very enthusiastic and interested in math;;;didnt take BC in h.s. and i did fine.....do homework and an A is easy
Professor Edwards is a great teacher. His class is not at all boring. I recommend if you took BC in high school then take this class. Make sure you do the homework because the tests are strictly homework questions and lecture examples(no tricks). Also, tests are in class (50 min long vs 2 hours) and you get one drop which can be the final exam.
Seems fake and "pretends" to like teaching.
Great class. Tests use homework probs. Not so great of a teacher on some subjects, but discussion is always helpful. First 2 tests are calc 1 material. He makes tests easier if the class avg. is low. Final can be dropped
If you didn't take Calc BC in High school Do not take this class. It is more of a review of calc 1 and 2. Only take the class if you took BC and you are weak in it. If you took AB only then take reg calc 1 or calc 2
Must pay attention in class. The pace is rapid, but he will bring you along just fine.
Great professor! Go to class and do homework and you will be successful. Deffinitely would take class again. Only had AB in high school and got an A. Can drop final. Just don't be intimidated and you'll succeed. Quizes are easy as long as you keep up with homework. Highly recommend Bruce Edwards for calc 2.
Even though Edwards has some, let's be honest, VERY annoying quirks, he's a good teacher. The only time I got lost was with series, and I eventually got it. Good at answering questions. Genuinely excited about calculus!! I would take him again if I had the chance.
Edwards is a great math teacher - very friendly, approachable, and VERY enthusiastic about math. I only took Calc AB in high school but with hard work I managed to scrape by with an A in the class. Just study his notes and do homework problems and an A is definitely doable. He also rounds your final grade up if you miss a grade by a point. =)
He's very interested in math and as long as you try and study, you can get a B.
Prof. Edwards is a great teacher. The lectures can be somewhat fast paced but if you print out the lectures (which he posts online) you should be fine be just writing down the examples. I took Calc AB in high school and managed to a 95% as my final grade dont get me wrong it does take a lot of work and studying. If you want to get an A REDO THE HW!
He is an amazing teacher and explains the material well. Attend class since he randomly gives quizzes. Doing the homework is very helpful. he homework tend to be more difficult than his tests. He has a sense of humor. I would take another mathematics course with him.
He's awesome. He cares about his students and is very entertaining. Easy to pay attention to in lectures, although he does move fast at times. Follow his studying advice - do homework, re-write lectures.
Looking back, he is a pretty good teacher. You get to drop a test so if you do well enough you get out of the final. Quizes are like free points. Tests are fair- not easy. Bruce seems pretty arrogant at times which kind of annoyed me. I had a great TA which helped a lot.
Professor Edwards is a great teacher, and he makes the lectures entertaining and easy to pay attention to. He does tend to move quickly through the material, but as long as you listen to his studying advice and rewrite the lecture notes, its not too bad. He's one of the few teachers who actually cares about his students and wants you to succeed.
Really good professor. He wants you to pass and explains the material clearly. Funny guy too
Very good professor. Has excellent methods of teaching, keeps the class awake and interesting. Very concise way of teaching, tests are a little hard but he doesn't make them, but teaches exactly whats going to be on them.
Professor Edwards was great! Calculus is the kind of subject where you have to go to class in order to understand what is going on, but he explains it very clear. He is also very funny and keeps the class interested. I recommend him and I wish he was teaching Calc 2!
Edwards is a great professor, I STRONGLY recommend him! He's very funny and has alot of energy so he keeps the class interested
Great teacher. Very knowledgeable of the subject and breaks tough concepts down so everyone can understand.
He is a great professor. This is my first time taking calculus and he made the subject very understandable. He's funny and keeps the class interesting. I enjoy the subject but for those who find math boring he does a good job of making it as interesting as possible. Definitely try to get him as a teacher.
This guy is awesome! He's very knowledgeable and very helpful in math. He gives me the reason to love math once again :)
Edwards is an awesome professor! He is very funny and kept the class interesting. I never really dreaded going to class this semester thanks to him! He is fast-paced, but is easy to understand. Leaves 1-2 days to review for each exam.
Study...and an "A" is supperr possible. Tests are just like old exams. He is veryy helpful and just a greatttt teacher. Loved him!
Awesome teacher! I wish he would teach my other Calculus classes during college. Very helpful, wants everyone to learn the material. Go to lecture, he explains stuff INCREDIBLY well. "When in doubt, take a derivative. Or integral. Or whatever we're doing."
Great professor, easy to understand, one of the best math teachers ever. Not that helpful in office hours, but go if you are having troubles. Funny, all around great teacher. Definitely recommend.
He was AWESOME! best math teacher ever. he is hilarious and explains things very well. overall nice guy and great prof. take him. good luck sports fans!
Very nice professor. Treats you like your his kid. Clear lectures. Do not get behind as it is hard to do well on the exams w/out the hw. Do Tuutoring Zone and you WILL pass.
overall great professor. his lectures go fast but he covers all the test material. Plus he is pretty funny
I had him for Fall 2008. Dr. Edwards is an amazing professor, he is a natural born teacher who can explain well. He is always trying to make sure his students understand the lectures. THE GREATEST PROF. EVER! Must take him!
Prof. Edwards was AWESOME. He is absolutely hilarious and makes everything about calc so much more fun. He works quickly, so you get out of class a few minutes early every day. Always random 'attendance checker' quizzes, but normally he lets you work with a partner on them. SUCH a fun professor! Definitely made me actually want to go to class!
He makes math fun. Enough said.
His class isn't too hard if you took AP Calculus at all. He's still a very good lecturer. He has his in class quizzes but he basically implies you can get help from other people. If you're lucky, he might even give away some "money" for answering questions.
great, and entertaining
loved him! he's really cool, super sarcastic and he tries to make the lecture somewhat entertaining. if you come to class you'll pass, he explains the material well.
Go to class!! In class quizzes given regularly.
Funny guy, really. his quirkiness keeps class somewhat interesting, and he's Very friendly. open to answering individual questions in the middle of lecture. Tends to talk quickly... but it doesnt take long to acclimate.
This class was a joke. I took calc in high school and I didn't have to study or practice at all for this. Edwards is a very clear teacher for those who haven't taken calc before, but he moves fast so make sure you can keep up. Attendance quizzes are pretty much free points and the discussion quizzes aren't so hard. He's a pretty funny guy too.
As said before, quirky but in a dorky way. He's a funny teacher, easy to understand, and incredibly nice. He does move a bit fast, but he stays on schedule unlike some of the other professors for this class. It doesn't seem as fast if you buy the lecture notes.
This class was easy for me because I took calculus in high school, but for my class mates who had never taken calculus before it was a little tough for them to get a B+
Excellent Teacher! I even won some money for answering a question in lecture! Makes the material easy for kids to understand. If you took AP Calc in high school, it should be relatively simple.
Incredible teacher-very nice and very understandable. He is still legit too, meaning that if you don't put in the effort such as missing an in class quiz, you cannot make it up and get special privleges. He cares about how you are doing and does want you to do well. I highly recommend him.Does quizzes at beginning of class sometimes so dont be late
Professor Edwards is an awesome professor. His humor and jokes kept students intrigued and paying attention. He's passionate for math, and wants students to excel. Not many complaints for the course except the homeworks were tedious. Webassign can be tricky too so try to do it with a friend to figure it out. Overall okay course, fantastic teacher.
He is probably decent enough for calculus because everything you need is in the book and that is ALL he uses. But for a class on proofs it helps to have more than the book offers. He is very one-dimensional, lively in class but a bit rude and unhelpful in office hours.
Absolutely fantastic professor--I wish he taught more of my classes!
Calc 1 is (at least, for me) an easy subject that's even easier with an interesting lecture. Bruce makes the lecture entertaining, goes at a good pace while being perfectly clear, and is a very nice guy. Be sure to get the student guide and lecture notes for this class, as they will help a LOT. An easy A if you give the effort. Lots of homework.
Best professor in the Math Dept. hands down
Professor Edwards is livelyentertaining during lectures. Make sure you know how to Gaussian Eliminate! He won't spend too much time on it,so its important NOT to get left behind! He's a great lecturer BUT a tough grader! Linear was difficult, so if you can, take it with Professor Keeran over the summer instead(He's fair in grading)
His lectures are clear and the pop quizzes/tests are very straightforward. Pay attention in class and do the homework and you should be able to ace every test with limited studying. The concepts in the class are not hard to begin with, but he makes it even easier. The textbook was online and only really needed for the homework.
If you ever get the chance to take Diff. Eq. with him do it! Great teacher and a fair grader.
Great professor. Makes lecture material easy to understand and tests are based entirely off of examples given in class and HW.
