As a 2nd year student I have had a lot of instructors, Bruce is a Gem!! He is the most helpfull, respectable man, knowledged and humor to boot. Having a large bit of experience in HTML before hand, I did not expect to learn a lot from this class. Boy was I wrong. Bruce nailed his lectures, quizzes, and homework, and I learned a lot from them. I recommend Bruce for any class you are taking.

I have taken Bruce for both CTEC 121 Intro to Programming and CTEC 122 HTML, in both of these classes Bruce has been more than fair in his grading. While Intro to Programming is much harder, Bruce is always there and available anytime to answer your questions. He is a fun instructor who shows great examples to his students.

Intro to programming one of the most difficult classes ever but Bruce is always there for you. I took advantage of twice weekly STEM tutoring so as to not take advantage of his generosity. His temperament, compassion and industry expertise ranks him my vote for teacher of the year!

When I first started this class I was really worried I would not do well because of all the memorization. Thank to Bruce though it turned out to be a great class and I did well! He has awesome videos that are less than 10 minutes and the best part is for big projects (Finals) if you miss something he tells you what it is and lets you fix it! MereH

Clearly explains difficult concept in programming. Quizzes are all online and taken at home, but you do need to study for them. Assignments can be challenging, but he is there to help and even allows for corrections if you show you are truly trying. Excellent instructor.

This is one of the toughest courses I've ever taken. Developing a web application based on PHP and SQL as a group project is tricky, especially when the application was being developed within 8 to 10 weeks. The tests are fair. It's more important to be accurate in your coding than timely. I think it would have better for me to have had it in person, but that's a personal learning style; when I met with him in person, he was very helpful. He was very responsive online.

Bruce is probably one of the best professors I've ever had. He's extremely knowledgeable in his field and he is always excited to teach you more, if you just ask about it. He has a great talent for teaching to the average student, but also giving unique challenges to the student who is ready for something a bit more complicated.

Bruce is an amazing instructor, He makes himself available 27/7 for help, His classes are hard, but its programming, and programming is hard. Bruce make class fun and he teaches useful techniques that can be applied to many programming languages.

Awesome teacher and a great class, I really learned a lot. I never felt like I couldn't ask questions, and he joked with the class a lot to make it a really comfortable environment to learn in. There is a lot of homework, but it was fun to do, and he was always available to answer questions. An all around fantastic class.

I was really intimidated by taking this class but Bruce really turned it around and made it easy to understand. He uses a system called Slack that allows immediate response question and answers. Its completely vital for online course. Instructional video tutorials that are great as well. One of the best instructors I have had!

This class was super interesting! You learn all of the basics for making a web page, there are great tutorials, and the instructor is almost always available for questions (not to mention super helpful).

Bruce demonstrates great knowledge and enthusiasm in the subject of programming. His class is fun, great to learn from, and interesting. Prior to taking classes from Bruce, I had no experience in programming whatsoever. I have gained quite a bit of knowledge and experience in Python, HTML, and CSS from this professor. I plan on taking JavaScript from him later.

I took ctec 122 online class with Bruce. I came into this class knowing very little about html. But it wasn't hard to understand, and very easy to follow. As long as you follow the tutorials and readings, it'll be an easy class

Bruce is a great teacher who really cares about his students' performance. He did as much as he could for students in the class that were struggling but ultimately you have to decide to make the effort. Fair grades, hands-on work, and helpful feedback. The class is not easy but it is worth the effort.

Bruce gives very specific and detailed feedback, and explains exactly how you should fix a problem too. The most important thing though, is that no matter what you need to read EVERYTHING on canvas. Every single module. Crucial and very specific details are there, even if you know the material. Your learning relies heavily on reading everything.

Learning to program is hard so for some. Bruce will do all he can to help you learn and succeed. You need to ask questions and participate. It's a lot of work as he's trying to teach you as much as he can given the schedule so It moves very fast. Budget a lot of time for this course. Discussions are animated and informal. You will be challenged!

Since participation is part of your grade, show up to class. As far as class material goes, read the chapter out of the textbook that's covered in class that week. In class there will demonstrations of all topics and more in depth explanations. If you have any questions about concepts, ask. Bruce will always provide an answer. He's cool like that.

(I have messaged him at 10pm one night and he shot a response right back and when i still didnt get it he called me and worked me throught it). BY FAR THE MOST AWESOME PROFESSOR AT CLARK!!!!!

Amazing professor, I was interested in coding before taking this class and now I am hooked, Bruce has inspired me to work towards a CS degree and I plan on eventually going into a career for development or coding of some kind.

Awesome guy, awesome instructor. The use of videos and Slack made it feel like we were always in class (in a good way). I never felt like I was "out on my own" with anything. If I had any questions, he was just a message away and would get back to me in a reasonably quick time frame. Tough but fair, made us work for it but helped when we needed it.

He likes to teach almost as much as he likes to have you learn. He is patient and will go the extra mile to help you out if you have difficulty with the coding. To help you, you have to communicate, participate in the class and ask questions. He doesn't teach easy subjects. Coding his hard for most of us but he'll do his best to help you learn.

CTEC112 was a lot of fun. Bruce does a good job of explaining basic programming concepts, especially how functions and loops work. I think this class is a great starting point for people who want to learn about programming but might be scared of math. The use of slack and ability to review code after class was really helpful for assignments.

Thankful to know Bruce! He's a really smart guy and very helpful. If he hadn't encouraged me to stick it out I would have withdrawn from the class.

I came in to this class with no background in programming, and Bruce went above and beyond to not just answer all my questions, but to do so in a way in which I still was learning (rather than just spoon feeding me). He was prompt with online responses, even on weekends, and made office time available as much as possible. Amazing professor.

I loved this class! Bruce is an amazing instructor and he has you complete each assignment in it's entirety before you can move on. This means that you can go back and perfect your assignment and turn it back in. This prevents you from getting bad grades on everything and helps you really learn what you are doing. 10/10 would recommend.

Bruce's class was no cake walk, but I learned a ton, and came away with legit skills that I can build on and use. The class was a lot of work, but no one works harder than Bruce himself. He is available pretty much 24x7 and is willing to put in as much as his students. Bruce's industry experience is a big plus. He's a pro and knows the real world.

He is available from around 6 in the morning until around 10 at night, and sometimes LATER! Weekends are just another day for him, so feel free to contact him on weekends too! A lot of work in this class (mostly in form of papers) BUT it's all useful/helpful and worth doing. Bruce collected an amazing group of speakers for this class who helped us appreciate the business of the web and how we might fit into that world. I got a lot more out of this class than I expected.

One of my most enjoyable class experiences with Bruce. I took his CTEC 121, Intro to Programming and Problem Solving, online. Although we never met in person, I was thoroughly able to feel welcomed and get a sense of his personality with his many quick lecture videos and our online calls. He was always ready to work with me in anything! Great guy.

Fascinating class. By the end, you can do amazing things w/ PHP and MySQL. Programming is hard to learn and takes effort outside class, but Bruce is VERY accessible and works hard to answer your questions both inside and outside class.

I took CTEC 121 Intro to programming which was very difficult for me online but Bruce is a great professor and makes himself very available to his students for outside of class help. Bruce really enjoys helping people (to a fault if you are an independent learner), but that makes him really approachable and easy to bring questions to. Also, if you are nervous about coming in with no coding knowledge, DON'T BE! This class is designed for beginners! Little note: Bruce takes cheating very seriously!

Bruce is awesome, his class is very structured and he's always willing to reexplain difficult concepts. He's always available, seriously. He's talkative and friendly, and puts a lot of dedication into what he does. Could not recommend him more for such a difficult class, even with the added difficulty of being an online class.

I had taken one class with Bruce, previously, Ctec 112, Programming Essentials. That class is way harder than this one because it teaches you JavaScript *within* HTML--what you learn here. Bruce was my favorite teacher thus far at Clark College. His class is electrifying. He is proficient in so many languages (computer languages) and teaches design related classes as well. For the Python class I took with him he pushed me to pass my MTA and I did. His nudge and his energy was the reason I got that certificate.

I was very new to the subject but found this class to be easy to understand, despite the fact that you are basically learning a new language. Based on past online courses with other teachers, I was worried that I would not be able to learn the material as well as I would if I were in an on campus environment. The main reason Bruce is so great is that he is so accessible through slack, that the course is never hindered because of the online aspect.

Bruce wants everyone to pass and will always find a way to give a student the extra attention they need. He likes to help people learn by giving them a hint, but not the answers. Lots of practice and assignments to help solidify the new knowledge. Lots of examples to learn from.

Probably the most caring as well as accessible professor I have ever had; which is funny because the class is completely online. Bruce truly wants everyone to pass and does weekly online help sessions to go over any problems or questions. Bruce also gives numerous practice problems to help you get the material down. Bruce is the real deal. During the semester, he offered help at all hours of the day, whether before/after class or video meetings from 6am to 10pm all days of the week. If struggling, a quick message via Slack was responded to almost immediately. He really strives to help you understand all course material. He's very lenient and understanding!

I will say I was honored to have had the oppertuinty to have bruce as my professor. I came into this class knowing nothing about programming and began to worry. There were alot of assignments and some I couldn't even think through , but bruce took the time to work through it. My favorite quality about bruce would be he shows everyday that he cares.

Mr. Bruce's courses have been one of the most enjoying and helpful classes I've ever taken. His teaching style is effective and organized, and while I didn't always understand everything at the first try, I never felt lost. I always looked forward to class! This guy took a ten week in-person course on Python and taught in 8 weeks online. He still made the material understandable and relateable. He took time to understand me and my style of learning and adapted his tutoring seesions my needs. The video library he created on the material is extensive and easy to follow.

Bruce is an absolute angel from heaven. Crazy accessible and helpful. Difficult course, but he had so many resources available that it was completely doable. He responds within minutes during most of the day if you need help and makes videos demonstrating concepts. He also hides "codewords" throughout modules for extra credit. Super funny as well.

I have been taking classes at Clark college for three years and Bruce Elgort is BY FAR THE MOST SUPPORTIVE and CARING TEACHER, that I have had the privilege to meet!! Communicate with him, if you need help, or if you are struggling. He is EXTREEY COMPASSIONATE, PERSONABLE and FUNNY :) He will ENCOURAGE and SUPPORT you to the end :)

Bruce Elgort is hands down the best teacher, instructor, professor I have ever learned from. He is very respectful, respectable, professional, understanding, caring, reasonable, light-hearted, funny, clear and concise in his explanations, and extremely humble. He can teach me anything anytime, and look forward to being his student in the future.

Bruce is great at explaining things in multiple ways so anyone can get the content he teaches. He's always ready to help and easy to get into contact with. He cares a lot about his students and wants them to learn.

Bruce is pretty great at explaining the concepts that he is teaching. He uses multiple methods, textbooks, the class lectures, the videos that he makes, and the homework to get his point across and makes sure everyone understands the material. All in all, he is pretty great at his job.

Professor Elgort is amazing!! If you have trouble learning any of the code he will definitely take the time to make sure you understand. He always makes time for his students and is always available. By FAR the best Professor I have ever had. We had lectures online every Tuesday and Thursday, and although not mandatory, they are definitely helpful!

Well spoken and easy to follow. Not many readings, rather taught us by walking us through how to do them and having us follow along in class. He would take the time after each portion to make sure everyone understood what he did/showed us, giving us time to ask questions and get feedback. He was also available at almost anytime outside of class.

Absolutely god sent professor. The classwork is very clear and pretty average load, but the work is actually fun. He will always find time to help you out whenever you need it, and he really cares about his students. He is currently all the way on the east side of the US, 3 hours ahead and he still finds time to zoom call when I needed it.

I definitely recommend taking CTEC121 with Professor Elgort. An amazing and organized canvas page with clear due dates. Additionally lenient on dead lines as long as you communicate! Always willing to help and support you. Replies really quick even outside of school hours, and sets up zoom meetings to help immediately. Great videos and lessons.

This professor was one of my favorites at Clark College. He was a great instructor, very funny, and also concerned for his students. He really wants to help his students understand the material and succeed in his class, and he was very accessible outside of class for questions. Great professor; I highly recommend him!

This course instructor is great because he was straight-to-the-point and easy to follow. However, he also managed to cram a few jokes into his lectures, which made it an enjoyable class!

Bruce is truly an amazing professor. If you have a question at any hour of the day, he will do whatever he can to help including hop on a Zoom on weekends. Truly the most responsive professor I have ever had, and it is clear that he really cares about his students.Optional lectures on Zoom that will help you with work for the week, definitely go.

Bruce is by far the best college teacher that I have ever had. Bruce is available almost all of the time for his students. He treats all his students with respect and is willing to jump in and help with difficult concepts. I would recommend his classes to anyone interested in learning about web development or programming.

Best teacher! Not many teachers can teach as good as him. He gives good feedback and he'll respond to your questions within a few minutes. He listens to his students and even went so far as to move the due date from Sundays to Mondays because students were asking him too.

Nothing but the best for this man, I have had the privilege of being taught by Mr. Bruce, and I must say, he is truly an exceptional teacher. This teacher didn't focus on grades but rather on the effort students put in and truly empathized with us. He has exceeded my expectations and demonstrated that there is still hope for outstanding educators.
