Professor Harvey is very passionate and knowledgable about Geology. He is always accessible to students, and ready to answer any questions if needed. He'll greet you in the morning with a smile, and really makes you feel welcome in class. Professor Harvey was one of the best I've had at NCWC

This semester Prof. Harvey reawakened my love of science and learning how the earth works. His lectures kept me interested and the allowed me to truly understand the material. Prof. Harvey has a passion for geology and it comes through in each and every one of his lectures. TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR. I promise you wont regret it.

Mr. Harvey is a great teacher. He will be the only teacher I will take for Geology. Every class, he made sure that he was ready to teach with spirit, good energy, and came up with helpful scenarios to make sure we understood exactly what he was talking about.

I HATE science with a passion but Mr. Harvey makes science fun! He is overly energetic and is willing to help. Mr. Harvey really cares about his students success, not only in the class room, but outside the classroom as well. Last but certainly not least, he is HILARIOUS!!!!

honestly, i have never been interested in geology. but professor Harvey really made it so easy to want to be in class. this was my first class of the day on Tuesdays and i never had a problem waking up for his class. i highly suggest if anyone needs to take geology, to take professor Harvey.

I took Mr. Harvey's class during my last semester at NC Wesleyan, and I can only say that I wish I'd taken his class sooner! Mr. Harvey is a phenomenal professor and genuinely cares about his students. When COVID-19 caused the college to close campus, Mr. Harvey was great with communication via emails and posting on the course website. Great guy!

I needed one more class to take in my last semester at NC Wesleyan. I teammate told me I should take geology with Harvey. I did just that and I'm so thankful that I did. Not only does Prof. Harvey care about his students, he also makes class enjoyable. He has a passion for geology and always makes sure you understand the material. Great guy!

There's plenty of opportunities for extra credit, mainly through participation. I would 10/10 take his class again

If you dont like earth talk then this isnt the class for you (lab is included btw) but having a professor that is so excited about such a topic will keep you interested and understand what is being caught even if you dont really care for the subject.

He explains every concept in such a way that is very easy for anyone to understand, even for someone who has never heard anything about geology in the entire life. He is very enthusiastic and engaging with every lecture, and clearly wants students to understand the material. He offers a lot of extra credit.

Mr. Harvey is one of the most dynamic lecturers I've ever had. His enthusiasm and energy are contagious. He literally opens the whole world through his class. I've learned more tangible, real-world, useful things in this class than a host of others combined. It's a shame the ratings only go to five, because Mr. Harvey is 11 out of 10 all day.

Harvey is one of the best teachers I have ever had in school. He is fun and hilarious and makes sure to connect to every student during his lectures. He is very entertaining throughout the whole lecture. Before every lecture you will have a quiz that is due but they are not hard and great for studying. I 100% recommend Mr. Harvey as a teacher.

Long lectures every class. The quiz questions are misleading even though they are online. I have spoken with other students and they agree with me that the questions are so broad there could be multiple correct answers. Tests aren't bad if you study. Mr. Harvey is very fun in lecture but you really do have to be there and take notes.

Mr. Harvey transmits his passion for geology in a incredible way. Despite of being a course that may not like to everyone, he teaches in a manner that makes the class interesting and entertaining. He is very cooperative if you need something. Or if you have any doubt, he will solve it without problem.

Mr. Harvey teaches the class and relates the topics from ERS 141 and ERS 142. This is helpful to understand both classes in a better and easy way. He is always there to help you and explain everything that is not understood. I recommend this class.

Dr. Harvey is a great guy. Easy to talk to, understands that we have personal lives/athletics to attend to. To keep it real, if you don't pay attention you are not going to do good. He sends out the PowerPoints, but it's best to hear him explain the stuff. If you are going to skip class only do it the next class after a test, it's review.

The lectures and quizzes are very important because those both come into play when it comes to taking the lecture tests. The tests are heavily graded and there is only 4. The lectures can be confusing because you have to take notes really on the discussion and not just the presentation that is benign shown.
