Very Intellegent and intersting professor. Class is fairly easy if you study. Very fun professor who likes to joke around.

Cool guy. He's super funny, and I always am laughing away at his jokes. Art of Film is a very good class too. The only downside are the desks in the room, you simply cant get comfortable in them when watching a long film. Hes an effective teacher.

He wrote the books that he requires you to buy, beware, they are non-returnable! He is super funny and keeps you interested. The lecture comes straight from the book, so it's not a big deal to miss class. Tests are all multiple choice, no papers to write

Hinrichs is a laid back teacher. What should be noted immediately though is that first, his ideas on government are very extreme, so if you are sensitive to either party being ripped on, it may be wise to not choose this teacher. His view on life and other matters is unique, making him an interesting character to learn from.

His polical views are very liberal, but it is good to hear from someone that is very educated talk about his or her polical views. Best Professor Ever!! Uses textbooks written by himself and is very easy to follow during lecture. He engages the class and has a great way of creating communication between students. Tests are pretty hard so studying is a must. Not sure why but I took this online and on campus and loved both. I wish he taught more classes.

Bruce uses his own texts, which seem a bit outdated, and full of photos of Bruce himself. Easy class, interesting subject, funny teacher, a bit raunchy at times and somewhat narcissistic, but if you can get past those characteristics, he's a good professor. Don't be afraid to correct him if he's wrong with his information. He takes it in stride.

I took his Gen Psych class in the spring of 09. I was turned off by the fact that the book he authored was the required text at first, however as time went on it actually was a great book in my opinion. He was open minded and quick to respond to any issues. I took this class online and had no problems.

I took him online. def a lot of reading and fair grader. i thought he was super nice and helpful. i'd always get quick responses same day or next. I heard his lectures are better in class. read the materials to understand it, it will make testing a lot easier. some questions are tricky, make sure you read & take notes, it will help.

Overall, Bruce is an EXCELLENT professor!! His lectures are incredibly interesting, and his tests are straightforward/easy (if you study). Attendance is required. He is a bright, nice, funny guy. Oh man, I love his lectures. They're never dull!

this is a great class to take becuase the knowledge is so practical. This is a great teacher to have because he makes everythign so easy. Great textbook, wish more were this well written. You have to do a lot of reading and studying. I did is shorter summer class but it was very informative. Tests can knock you around if you don't know your material. I never got to meet him face to face but every person I talk to seems to like his style.

I love Bruce! He is an excellent teacher. I've taken psychology twice in my life and by far, no one teaches it better than he does. His textbooks are so cool because he wrote them. It's almost as though he is talking to you :) I have learned so much in this course, and I'm 100% positive that you will love him as much as I did.

I took the class online, so have no idea how 'fun' he is. He does, however, respond to emails and Discussion Board questions very quickly. I thought I would like Into to Psych. It was just 'OK'. His book is OK; jammed packed with info, so be ready to read every page, do the study guides and sample tests then READ test ???s carefully-some are tricky

At the end of the semester, ONE page was loose otherwise was good as new, and I couldnt return it. He tells them to not accept returned books with loose pages or bends- because he writes them and wants money.

He is a grinch for sure, the text books you use are written by him, and are physically low quality. Then, unless the book is in perfect condition, which it won't be. The book store will not buy your book back due to the instructors instructions not to buy the books back if they are damaged in anyway. Buy the book off ebay or craigslist if you must

Amazing guy and is very helpful! I took the online version and he was very helpful and very clear on assignments. He does whatever he can to help his students learn. The online class consisted of reading chapters, doing assignments (that you DO NOT turn in) and five tests. I'd definitely take him for psych if I were you.

His books are kind of dry reading, but very helpful, Got tripped up on hte final exam as I didn't take notes in the small group lectures he presented, otherwise I did very well on his tests. AMAZING teacher. I took it in the summer, all that was graded was 4 60 point multiple choice tests, and up to 60 points for attendance. i used the two required books a lot and the class required a lot of studying but it was doable for sure! great teacher. highly recommend.

What a fantastic teacher. I took PSYC 1020 this past summer. Bruce's lectures are interesting, and he is a fun guy to learn from and interact with. In class, he lectures on the slides which you can get it from D2L. Study from the slides. Notes are the slides. Pre-test on D2L is helpful. Tests/Exam are straight forward. Very smart instructor. Watch a few videos in class. Sign your name on the paper to know you are there that day.

Highly respected teacher, who has written his own textbooks and are used in a few colleges. He lectures straight from the book he wrote. He has good solid consistency with information and should always be considered first for this class.

Summer Online Class 1) Grade is fully based on how well you did on the online test (ONLY 4 EXAMS). 2) No extra credit to cover your score on exams. 3) There is barely any time to study for other classes since the content is a lot and very hard (very interesting tho!) and even fast-paced. 4) Online exam is 60 questions each, 60 minutes limit.

The test are not crazy .. the material on the tests are literally on the practice tests with the addition of using quizlet for the terms. Obviously reading the big book as well, memorize the terms for a month and you will pass your tests. Maybe some of you should stop talking in class.. *cough 11:00am lecture*

I took Bruce's online psych class and it was great. All he requires in his online class is do the readings and take the 5 tests, nothing else. His tests were pretty easy and he even extended the online due dates for those who couldn't get the tests done in time. He's an overall great guy and makes even his online class interesting.

All of his notes will be the information that he lectures in class. The book is a must to understand some terms, but I would recommend taking Bruce's personal notes rather than notes on D2L.

Bruce is a awesome teacher he is very intense with his teaching but in a good way to where he makes sure you understand what he is talking about and if you don't get he makes sure you understand before class is over with.

Bruce was an amazing professor. Lectures were fun and simple. Tests were multiple choice. I personally didn't use the textbook much as I found his lectures were pretty much out of the textbook put in power point, however the practice tests that are included in the textbook was very helpful.

This a very straight forward class. There were 5 units & u r given about 3-4 weeks to study, which is done by looking through his slide shows, reading assigned pages of HIS books, "doing an activity" & watching the videos he assigns. Make sure to plan bc u will not be able to do in 1 day. At the end of each unit, u take a timed test. NO PAPERS!

Take Bruce if you have the opportunity! He was by far my favorite teacher that I have ever had, and he makes class fun! I actually looked forward to going because he is hilarious and has amazing lectures and stories. He wrote the textbook, which makes it a pretty easy read. Just show up to class, take good notes, and study off of the study guide!

5 exams, no homework assignments. You have about 3 weeks to review each unit and take the exam. Make sure you read the required material and do the assignments at the end of each chapter. He also provides a practice exam for each unit with the answer key which is really helpful. Open book exams but limited time so you won't pass if you don't study!

Bruce was a great professor, if you go to class and read your text book you should at least get a B at the lowest.

Not only was Bruces class very well structured and put together, but he has a heart of gold! My son was admitted to the picu at childrens which caused me to miss tests and fall behind. He let me make up my tests and made a thorough plan for me in order to pass his class with a C or better! His class was great & I highly recommend it!!

Honestly, a really good and genuine teacher. Trust me when I say this cause I'm hard when it comes to rating professors. There's no homework and only 4 tests. thats it and no final. You only need to know the basic stuff from his powerpoint. The tests are so easy if you study. The lectures are interesting because his stories are really capivating.

Read the books, STUDY, and you'll pass! Awesome PROFESSOR! If he had another class, I would take him again! Super understanding and relates much to society and everyone of us who comes from different walks of life- hence why he's a Psychology Professor! Read each units, take each exams for the units, definitely worth your $ for taking his class! <3

If you like Dad jokes, you are in for a treat. Great lectures, not even majoring in Psyc, but Bruce almost made me want to. Very interesting stuff. Science and Fact based curriculum. Super cool dude, let me retake a test to get an A. Real Genuine guy. Course is fairly difficult if you don't watch lectures and take notes. Definitely take notes.

Bruce was a great professor, I took him for intro to Psych online in the summer. He was very communicative and responsive to myself and my peers. The readings can be long but he creates power point lectures with voice too that were incredibly helpful! Put in your time and you'll get a good grade. Very nice professor I would take him again!

I took Professor Hinrichs in 1994 when it was "Lakewood" Community College. I vividly recall him, his lectures and his passion. Of my many, subsequent lectures at University I recall: Next to nothing. I would take his class regardless of your intended major, the work load and whatever grade you may get. It's truly education.

Greatest. Textbook. Ever. The class was two textbooks (one optional) and some optional power point lectures. He wrote his own textbook, I rented but it's so good I might buy it. He grades based off of five tests. They're easy if you study. He is also very flexible with due dates. He is dripping with passion & care for his students, fantastic prof!

Professor Hinrichs' psychology class was super easy! There are only 5 tests you have to take for that class, no homework. However, this class is very textbook heavy! So be ready to read a huge textbook. He's super caring and generous, he even gives you extra time after the test due date to finish the test up until the end of the semester!

Super easy class. The textbook work is the hardest part, and you need to take good notes to do well on the tests. As long as you are a decent note taker you'll be good. Open note tests, but you only get 70 minutes for 60 Q's, so you need to be organized. I never once touched the Mind as Mosaic textbook and got As on all the tests, not worth buying.

Bruce was super chill. Has 5 tests which are the only grades in the class. I made quizlets based off of the practice tests and did just fine. His lectures are powerpoints with his voice in them which was helpful but sometimes they got long. He is super flexible about when you take tests, which is nice if you have a busy schedule.

If you want the best advice for this class - read the textbook. I have no clue what everyone else is saying about the textbook was worthless. You can find all of the answers to what will appear on the exams in the textbook. Yes, this class is very reading heavy but as long as you read for at least an hour a day you'll be fine.

Bruce was great! He is well versed with the material and he wrote the textbook. There are 5 units and only a 100-ish page textbook assignment for each; they're long & a bit gruesome, but to be fair I waited until two days before the test to start reading. Overall the textbook is good though, lots of pictures and it full of Bruce's funny thoughts.

Prof. Hinrichs was amazing, reading the textbook isn't mandatory but it does help with the tests. Took his psychology class online and all I had to do was take 5 tests. There are due dates for the tests but he left all 5 open until 3 days after the semester ended.

Your grade is based off 5 tests, which are open until the end of semester so you can take them whenever you feel confident with your understanding of the material. Reading the textbook isn’t necessary because he made slideshows and lectures embedded in them that explain the material thoroughly. I can’t recommend Hinrichs enough.

Bruce is a great professor. He's funny and cares about you and your grade. There is no homework at all but to study for every unit test. So, get ready to read and study! Every unit quiz is 60 questions and timed. If you need to retake a quiz, he will open it up as many times as you want. The quizzes can be hard though. Will need the textbook a lot.

Read your syllabus! I took the online course and everything you need to know is in there. It's very independent, and resources like videos, presentations and the textbook are there! You can easily contact the teacher, super helpful. Stay on schedule, take notes, and you'll pass with an easy A.

It was a very simple class, watch the lectures and take notes. Your grade was based on 5 exams you would take throughout the course. The lectures did not take long, and if you really wanted, you could finish the entire course in the span of a few days. Loved the cartoons he put in his lectures, he was a very easygoing guy.

The professor wrote the textbook himself, so if there are any questions on interpretation it's really easy to get a clear answer. He also created discussion posts for the class to use throughout the semester. He only had five assignments and they were all 60 point tests, but retakes were available upon requests.

Bruce is awesome! This was my first Psych class and he makes sure you understand, his lectures are fun and engaging. He loves questions and is a very funny guy. No deadlines on his quizzes but he lets you know when quizzes should be done so you can stay on track. Quiz re-takes are available if you ask. Highly recommend his Psych class!

Took online PSYC 1020. It was a self-paced course with five exams. Take the time to read/listen to the lectures and textbook. The book isn't really necessary. Only the first exam asked a couple questions that the book answered. Very easy and laid back course. Prof. Hinrichs is also a funny and caring guy.

Great guy, super friendly to talk to and is a great teacher. Work is 5 multiple choice tests which can be tricky but if you come in knowing what you're doing it's not hard. Very interesting lectures and I found myself super engaged to a topic I had no prior interest in. Fantastic professor would absolutely take again.

PHENOMENAL professor. Watching him talking about psychology just showed how much he loves the subject. Half of the time he didn't even need to look at the lecture slides to teach, he just knows and is so passionate about it. He wrote both textbooks for the class, and tests are online. He asks what grade you want for your attendance as well.

Prof. Hinrichs makes psych fun and engaging. Lectures are clear, textbook is helpful, and exams are reasonable. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for study prep. Worth taking if you put in the work.

Prof Hinrichs is the best teacher I've taken at Century so far. He knows what he is talking about in lectures and also has great stories. He's lectures are interesting topics and he is funny as well. I would take his class again and encourage others to do as well.

bruce is an amazing professor with engaging lectures. you can tell he is very passionate about psychology and always has great stories to tell along with his lectures. you get to grade yourself on attendance and take all tests at home. tests and attendance are the only things graded in the class. 100% would recommend.

Fun and engaging lectures!

Perfect introductory class into the world of psychology. As someone that has taken developmental psychology before general psych, I have to say this teacher is insanely fair in his grading. Class only consists of reading and taking the exams for the corresponding chapters. Wish there was a little more class interaction.

I highly recommend taking any Psychology course with Bruce! He is like an encyclopedia of Psychology. He rarely ever needs to look at his slides to give his lectures and he knows all the content from the back of his head! He is so so smart and genuinely wants the best for his students!

Extremely easy class, no assignments. Graded only by test performance (1/month) and attendance. Very engaging guy, enjoyable lectures. The most funny yet informative teacher I've had, great variety in lectures from day to day.

He's the kindest professor ever; we had about 2-3 weeks to take the "quizzes" (tests) and read the provided textbooks. He's very understanding and would let you retake your quizzes if you ask. Overall, lots of textbook pages to read, but easy. (Recommending him to PSEO students). He's also very open to answering your questions if you're confused.
