AVOID! Class is extremely boring and hard to keep up with. He talks way to fast. Exams are just essays. The TA grades all of the assignments and exams. Mine was horrible: inconsistent, did not know how to teach in lab or to engage or control the class.

Dr. Holle is an excellent professor. He will not coddle students who want to put writing assignments off and want an easy class. This class is NOT easy, but he is a very good. He knows his stuff. He wants you to work for your grade, which is good. I learned a lot from the class. He taught me how to write like a professional and work hard. TAKE HIM.

Dr. Holle's lectures are amazing. They are conversational and easy to follow with the outline he gives you. He answers questions very well, and does not mind you interrupting class to do so. He is very helpful during office hours especially with papers, and exams are easy if you GO TO CLASS. You will work hard for your grade, but you will improve.

Holle was challenging but fair overall. He made lectures somewhat interesting so be sure to pay attention. Missing class wasn't an option especially if it's lecture because you'll fall behind and it's difficult to catch up again. He will mention his real estate days at least 1,000 times before the semester is over.

Few professors will challenge you in the way Holle challenges his students. I am a stronger write, student, and thinker for having taken his class. He cares for his students, but he isn't mushy about it. He's from South Chicago, rough around the edges, but all around a great man. If you aren't going to read, don't bother signing up.

Dr. Holle's lectures tend to be extremely fast and cover a lot of specific material, most of which you don't need to know for the exams. He calls people out, so you need to make sure you're paying attention to know what to say. Attendance to lecture isn't mandatory, but he gives pop quizzes for bonus credit. You must go to recitation. Be ready to take lots of notes in lectures. Go to your sections, your TAs can be really helpful. Also, make sure you are reading (skimming/analyzing) the textbook

If you do not put in any effort, do not take this course. If you work diligently, I would 100% recommend. Dr. Holle is absolutely hilarious and he makes class enjoyable. I love his lectures.

The class is way more work than it's worth. He assigns a ridiculous amount of work and readings every week. His lectures aren't easy to follow and he isn't very compassionate. He freaked out on our class because two people out of a forty person class didn't do the readings one week and changed all the discussions after that to quizzes as punishment
